Such a charming spot! We sat inside since it was a fairly cool evening. We had the perfect table in the corner, so we each had part of the booth, which was so comfortable. Our server Jennifer couldn't have been nicer, and she had the menu down pat! We started with cocktails. I had the smoked old fashioned, which came in a carafe with smoke, and a stopper. Jennifer pulled the top and poured the drink and it smelled heavenly! Tasted good too. We started with the artichoke, which was unbelievable. Never have had artichoke served like this, with baked savory Parmesan melted onto the leaves. Absolutely delicious and memorable. My husband had the steak with Parmesan and an arugula salad. The meat was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The addition of a slice of Parmesan between each piece was very cool. I had the Gigli Al Roston, a delicious ruffled pasta with a homemade sausage sauce. I loved it. The pasta had the perfect toothiness and the sauce was so good! I ate as much as I could and was sad that we were staying in a hotel with no way to have leftovers! We ended by sharing an affogato. Delicious vanilla gelato with amaro & decaf espresso(our request) over it. Served with some fresh berries and cookie crumbles. We have decided to try to recreate this for an upcoming dinner party. Such the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

Came here for dinner and booked reservation at 6 on Friday night. There's plenty of dirt parking near the restaurant. The restaurant was super cute and packed! So definitely recommend booking reservations. The waitress was super knowledgeable and friendly. Gave us a rundown on their specials for the night and checked up on us multiple times throughout dinner. We shared a Caesar salad to start the dinner. It had buttery croutons sprinkled in the salad. I ordered the gigli al ropeton. The pasta was cooked perfectly with some sausage meat sauce. It was a simple dish but tasted so good. Not too heavy and a perfect tomato based sauce. My friend got the butternut squash ravioli. It was super creamy with a pistachio crunch on top. I loved it too. Overall the ambience and food were great! Super cute place for a catchup with my friend

The cocktails were delicious and unique!!

We had a wonderful night here for my birthday. Great food and service. We loved the octopus and each of us got a different pasta that we all shared and was fabulous.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time on Valentine's Day and our expectations were exceeded. The atmosphere was very cozy and romantic with the dim lighting and the service was very attentive to our needs. The food was so delicious as well!! He got the T-bone truffle sliders which were juicy and I got the wild mushroom pappardelle which was perfectly al dente. I would like to come back here with my family again soon!!

We have had this place on our list to try for a while now, and on this visit to the area we finally made it and now I'm upset we didn't go sooner! The restaurant vibe is cute, home style, and yet with a modern twist. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The food and drinks, unique and mouthwatering! We walked away saying this place lived up to all we had heard about it and will have to visit on our next trip!

Visit here for my friend birthday dinner. We were very happy about choosing this restaurant. Highly recommended. Ordered a lot of food for 2person but always we ordered a lot. Must try if they have truffle pizza. We were lucky they have that for day special. Amazing pizza never has been anywhere else. Octopus was a bit salty but soft octopus not a very chewy. Stake was delicious and cooked very well, so soft. Pasta was great also I want to try some wine next time. We were happy for eating so delicious food and great menu choices. Our waiter was super friendly and he was funny. Food came out so quickly Pretty and clean. A lot of seating but maybe need reservations. Definitely visit again if I will travel to this area again.

I think this place is gonna be one of my new all-time favorites. If you want absolutely fabulous service., delicious food, to die for desserts and this is your place to go. Located in the heart of Santa walking distance from a great downtown. The atmosphere here is delightful.

This was just lovely! Seems like a popular spot in town and I could see why. The outdoor patio where we sat was so cute and vibey and I was incredibly warm despite the chill outside. Our server was friendly and helpful, even bringing me an entire kettle of warm water when I asked for a cup. Finally, the branzino was probably the best branzino I've ever had in my life oh my god. We got the sausage pizza which was good but THE BRANZINO.

Enjoyed a very nice dinner at S Y Kitchen. Our waiter was very helpful in selecting dishes for our party. I had a pasta dish with clams that was very tasty. Reservations are a good idea as they can be busy, especially on weekends.

We live in San Dimas, very few restaurants are worth the drive in a day. Round trip was 7 hours. We normally go to Pasadena however the food scene is not inspiring and over priced. We came back to SY kitchen and just like in October last year for my birthday. We we not disappointed. First our server was so attentive to our needs. The manager also came to our table multiple times. The restaurant has a beautiful outside terrace area for dining. We started with homemade bread just incredible The star was the Halibut special server on pea puree with fennel and spring onions. Amazing flavors and of course the pistachio creme brulee for dessert We also had side of potato and greens Can't for my next trip to dinner

I came to S Y kitchen to celebrate my birthday and I'm really glad that I chose this spot for my special dinner. We booked through OpenTable and we were seated on their outdoor patio, which was cozy and inviting. The night that we dined in was a bit chilly, but they had a bunch of outdoor heaters. The booths had soft cushions which gave it a homey, relaxed vibe. Our waitress was wonderful and was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu which made the whole experience even better. We started off with Bob's well bread as our appetizer. It wasn't really my favorite since I personally prefer doughy bread and this leaned on the firmer side. It was still flavorful especially paired with the butter and Calabrian chili on the side! For drinks, I ordered the cilantro Margarita and my fiancé had the el Viejo. The margarita was absolutely delicious. My fiancé loved the el viejo too but just note, it's served in a small glass, so sip slowly!! For my entrée, I had the wild mushroom pappardelle and OMG this was hands down the best mushroom pasta that I've ever had. My fiance doesn't even like mushrooms and he was so impressed by this dish. My fiance ordered the burrata & sausage which was also a great choice. We ended the meal by sharing their tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet note to end on. They even brought it out with a candle for my birthday. One funny note is that on OpenTable, it says that activewear and sandals aren't allowed, but we definitely saw folks wearing both so take that with a grain of salt lol I would highly recommend this spot!

Nice ambiance, good service, and hearty Italian food. We started with "Bob's bread" which comes with fresh, fruity olive oil and some Calabrian chili (a nice touch), the fresh pea salad (with arugula and ricotta salata), and followed it up with a lamb ragu pasta and a cacio e pepe gnocchi. Everything was good, nothing was mind-blowing or noteworthy. The best thing was probably the panna cotta we had for dessert. We also had a bottle of rose and the entire lunch came to about $160 before tax. A pleasant and satisfying--if expensive--lunch.

I still to this day dream about this place. Originally my husband and I weren't gonna go but ended up getting a last minute reservation, and holy moly so glad we went! The olives, the pizza, but most of all, the pistachio crème brûlée *drool* !!! The cocktails were also phenomenal, you really can't go wrong here!!

My fiancée ordered her steak well-done. I get it--an unpopular choice. But she doesn't order her steak well-done because she thinks it tastes better; she orders her steak well-done because she's squeamish and the red color freaks her out. When the steaks arrived, they were both medium rare. I called our waitress over and asked if they could cook my fiancée's steak a little more. She was apologetic and took the steak back. A few minutes later, my fiancée's steak returned...still medium rare. The kitchen had not cooked the steak more. My fiancée tried her best to eat it, but it made her feel pretty bad. While she was in the restroom, I asked our waitress what happened. She said she was very sorry, but the kitchen doesn't really "do" well-done steaks. Uh....why not? The thought that the kitchen was unwilling to cook my fiancée's steak more is utterly ludicrous. The restaurant business is a SERVICE industry. The object is making your diners happy, not maintaining your sense of dignity by refusing to cook my fiancée's steak to a temperature she's comfortable with. So, thanks to the kitchen's high-and-mighty attitude, my fiancée went home hungry. Unbelievable.

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

The vibe was pleasant and a little bit fancy. No lowly brunch menu here--we had raw fish, medium rare steak, and red wine. I suppose not everyone wants all that before dinner. Nella is an attractive restaurant at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn. The dining room looked charming, but we opted to sit on the patio, which was comfortable and breezy. Service was great, attentive and prompt. We were in and out in an hour, as planned, but we could've lingered longer. The food was delicious, starting with the $9 bread and butter--French baguette with a bright yellow block of salted Bordier butter. The salmon crudo was fresh and silky, finished with Fresno chile, citrus, passion fruit, avocdao mousse, calamansi vinegar, and fresh basil. My favorite dish, though, was the spring salad, a vibrant assembly of Tutti Frutti Farms sugar snap peas, fava beans, kumquats, calamansi pickled red onions, arugula, pecorino, and rosé vinaigrette. I don't typically go for salads without meat, but this one was superb. For our entrées, we shared a Margherita pinsa and the filet mignon. The pinsa was an airy flatbread, topped with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, basil, and sea salt. The prime cut filet was flavorful and satisfying, cooked a tender medium rare and served with yu choy and green peppercorn sauce. We ordered two Italian reds by the glass, which went well with everything, but especially with the steak. The Grosjean Vallee d'Aoste, a Gamay , and the Clos Venturi Vin de Corse "1769," a Sangiovese Sciaccarellu blend. I'd been to SY Kitchen once before and plan to go to whatever restaurant the group is about to open up in Montecito. These people obviously know what they're doing. We had a lovely lunch at Nella Kitchen & Bar and would recommend it to anyone visiting Los Olivos.
