This Bistro dishes were delicious. One of the best Rib eyes I've ever had, great pairing with the peepers. Pan fried noodles are a must. I wish I remembered our server name, because she makes a great old fashioned

Had a very nice first meal during restaurant week. Tried the prix fixe meal with coconut soup, gado gado, Bok choy with sweet bbq pork and chocolate mousse. All great! My hubby had the mussels which he liked. Very nice service from Tiffany and Tony- appreciated their friendliness and helpfulness. Also a nice interior too!

Was looking for a place with vegetarian options and found this place. It's super cute outside, and the inside feels swanky. Everyone who worked with us were super nice and answered all our questions. Garlic Noodles (10/5 stars) - could use way more garlic but the taste was incredible. It's got a light creaminess to it. Poached Pear Salad (4.9/5) - this salad was almost perfect but the argula was dressed in an extremely sour dressing that almost ruined the salad, but all the other parts worked so perfectly together that you just gotta pretend the sour is not there. Housemade Scallion Focaccia with Garlic Chili Crisp (5/5) - the garlic chili crisp was addicting and had a good heat to it. I added a lil to the garlic noodles and wow that combo was amazing Overall, super nice restaurant which great vegetarian options.

The Gathering Table *December 13th, 2025 *12pm- Saturday *4 Stars Environment: *Located in Middle of Danish Town, Solvang *Indoor and Outdoor Seat *Quick Service *Street Parking Only Food/Drink: *Breakfast Burrito *Pancakes *The Burger *Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) We stopped by The Gathering Table while exploring Solvang, and its location right in the heart of Danish Town made it an easy and convenient choice. The staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly, which was appreciated during an extremely busy weekend during Christmas Jule Fest. The breakfast burrito was a standout with generous portions and great flavor. The burger and nasi goreng were both good, though a bit saltier than my personal preference. The pancakes were enjoyable, but the strawberry yuzu compote was definitely the highlight! It really made the dish different from any other pancake I've had before. Overall, a solid spot with a good variety of options, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Good experience here. We came for an early dinner. Our reservation was initially inside, but it was pretty loud inside, and my dad asked if we could sit outside with heaters. No problem (except they had high tops and my poor dad who has a smidge of mobility issues had some small challenges). They provided heaters aplenty. Tawni was our server and was friendly and helpful! We got the charred cabbage (probably my favorite of the night), some miso black cod (super tender but a bit on the salty side), roasted cauliflower, garlic noodles, and the lamb chops (lollies - I felt like these could have been bigger pieces, for the price). We ended with the Thai tea bread pudding, which was good. Ok, honestly, everything was a bit heavy-handed in terms of flavor - just this side of salty. Nice ambiance though, and there is a section with a firepit. And the service and management are on point here.

The fusion aspect of this restaurant is super fun! I would probably give 4.5 stars if I could. There were items I have never tried that I really enjoyed like the smoked eggplant that had a light breading on it and when you took a bite it melted in your mouth. This was part of the lamb entree served also with a curry type sauce and potatoes. This was a very unique twist on an entree that seems to served very similar ways at other restaurants. We also absolutely loved the mussels that had Thai flavors busting through. The roasted garlic noodles were also a top contender. The miso cod was also delicious just a little on the small side since they paired it with sautéed spinach only. There was not one item we did not enjoy. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday evening so the service was great up until we got our last course and we never saw our server again who was in the kitchen. We did have two other workers come up to our table after we were done eating to see how we enjoyed everything. It just would have been nice to see our server again. Even when we were ready to pay I had to go find him.

Walked in on a Friday night with 3 adults and 1 toddler. We got outside seating and had the best time! Mocktail for the toddler and cocktails for the rest of us and they were so incredibly well balanced! The peanut cabbage came out first and my GOD did it set the tone. Incredible. Every single dish we got was amazing in its own right. Cauliflower was incredible and I don't usually like whole roasted cauliflower (even as a vegetarian). The salad was also a hit!! My companions liked the cod very much. Our toddler literally licked the plate from the miso sesame chocolate cake at the end! If we lived closer we would definitely come back again and again! Well worth the trip.

Wonderful restaurant in Solvang. Our server was very attentive and the vibe is nice and casual. I had the Mussels, and they were delicious. I think there were 17 mussels in my bowl, and the broth was fantastic! I will be back one day (live on the east coast).

Hands down the best dinner in Solvang. They came highly recommended from all of the locals and did not disappoint. The service was perfect from beginning to end. The food and drinks were excellent. We both shared our meals and couldn't decide who had the better dish because they were both so flavorful. The location is right in the middle of town, super clean, and relaxing. This will be my go to spot for dinner.

Saturday, December 21, 2025 11:45am - Party of 5 We arrived to Solvang STARVING! Most of the local eateries were packed but as we happened upon The Gathering Table, it didn't look as busy as the other places, but were quoted a 25 minute wait. I ran inside to use the restroom and noticed a bunch of empty tables, and assume the 25 minute wait was due to staffing. But after we were seated, I observed all the other people walking up, not being made to wait like we had to. Honestly, that alone made me feel some kinda way, so they lost a star for it. Our waitress was lovely and attentive...but I didn't care for the hostess. We were seated outside at one of the large tables...glad it was pleasant enough to do so. I had the pancakes and a side of bacon. My girls had the breakfast burrito, sis had the Cesar salad with Salmon and my niece had the shrimp tacos. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I really liked the patio seating and large tables and benches.

This place is easily the best restaurant in Solvang. The Japanese French fusion is what makes it stand out. It's a necessity since Solvang is comprised of many steakhouses and simple palettes. I was blown away by the vegetable dishes. The charred cabbage was definitely a stand out. I love how it incorporated the peanut sauce and almost was a play on a Thai flat wide noodle dish. The garlic noodles were top tier, so much so, we had to get two orders. The miso cod was cooked perfectly and such an easy choice. So glad we stopped by on a random night and were easily accommodated for a part of 5.

Service and food were both fantastic! When we started to walk onto their patio, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who then held the door for us. We checked in for our reservations and decided to sit outside for dinner. They set us up under a heat lamp and turned on another one to make it nice and warm. Tawni came by to take our drink order but we weren't ready. Right away, we could tell service was going to be great for the evening. Amazingly, everyone from the hostess to the bussers and food runners and server were attentive, efficient, and friendly. It felt like as soon as a plate was empty, someone was there to take it away or wipe the table to prepare for the next round. At one point, our entrees arrived as our appetizer plates were being cleared but new plates and flatware appeared quickly with an apology. The wind picked up outside and after my husband got smacked in the face with a menu, we decided to go inside. Tawni took our order while a table was being set up and then she escorted us inside to a cozy table with a booth and chairs. Our dining experience continued without a pause. The sparkling water flowed into our glasses and drinks arrived. We were all set. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and plated beautifully. The table shared the Beef Tartare and Cauliflower for starters. We all loved the tartare which had the perfect amount of saltiness and seasoning. It went well with the endive and shrimp chips. My son's sliders were juicy, served with yummy fries that were not oily and had the right texture. Three of us shared the Salmon, Miso Cod, and Duck Breast. Each dish was prepared outstandingly. The Cod was paired well with sesame spinach while the Salmon was served with an amazing chard that was a tad spicy in a good way plus rice with cashews and peanuts. And the Duck was cooked nicely and had a five spice sauce. It was all so good. The night ended with an Espresso Martini and Cheesecake. The cheesecake was so beautiful that the table next to us asked about it. It was light and refreshing on a graham cracker crust. We highly recommend this place for dinner!

This was a perfect dining experience. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation, but they had our table ready and waiting. Each course was perfectly delicious. We chose two non-alcoholic cocktails, which were well-balanced and worked well with our food. We shared the cauliflower appetizer and a side of the garlic noodles, which were incredible. The mussels entree, with its creamy sauce and gentle spicy kick, was unique and particularly delicious. We shared the banana cheesecake for dessert, which may be the best cheesecake we have ever had. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Solvang!

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

We started with delicious cold, crisp martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and a bowl of water for our pup. Our server (Chelsea B?) was so fun and friendly! We then had maybe the best wedge salad we've ever had! I think the lettuce was cut to, but not thru, the base, and opened up, with toppings inside. Roasted beet cubes, bacon, blue cheese and shallots, plus cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg quarters and fried shallots garnish. It was incredible. I think they should call it "More than a Wedge." We also had the Ahi crudo, which had a delicious sauce and thinly sliced peppers. I wasn't too hungry, so had the French onion soup as my main course. So, it definitely didn't taste anything like French onion soup! It looked like it, and it was definitely cooked down onions but the flavor wasn't anything like I'd expect. However, it was really delicious and satisfied my craving for something warm & cheesy. So if you go in knowing that, I think you'll enjoy it. I don't like lamb, so my husband often gets it when we go out. When he took his first bite, I could tell he enjoyed it. He said it was some of the best lamb he's had and he's had a lot! It's à la carte, but did come with a tiny bit of salad and a roasted pepper which he thought was perfect. Since I was having the soup we didn't order a vegetable side, which we normally would, but this vegetable garnish worked perfectly for him. Definitely recommended!
