I really enjoyed sitting in this place having a few beers chatting with Brad. He was able to handle the busy crowd with ease and was very cordial to everyone. They have a great selection of IPA's and other craft beers on tap. The menu items they have are excellent, such the linguica sandwich, which is different and tasty and made locally, as well as something they are known for, which is their burgers. The scenery is beautiful with views of the lake. I love this place!

Enjoyed our trip to Chacuma lake for Mother's Day. My Cheeseburger was huge and tasty with thousand island dressing. Tri Tip sandwich is smoked here and came with green salsa and horseradish. Feels like a dive bar with live music on the patio. Great view of the boat ramp. Love watching them back up. Service was great.

Food was excellent. Had the Angry Goat Burger and Onion Rings. Other people in my party had the kids Cheeseburger, kids Grilled Cheese and Fries. Everyone was happy with their food. The onion rings and ranch were a particular hit with everyone. The people were very nice and were hard at work the whole time we were there. Outside patio and inside area to eat in. Would defintely come here again.

Such a cute little spot on Lake Cachuma. Food is a lil pricey but overall pretty good and the vibes are what you'd expect. It's right by the lake and they have music playing on the weekends. Ordered the Bloody Mary, 50/50 fries and classic burger. Bloody Mary was missing some of that tanginess. Still it's pretty awesome to enjoy your food right by the lake!!

Tri-Tip Sandwich

Stopped by for lunch while camping. Very convenient location. Things are a little pricey, but that's the price you pay for convenience. I got the tri-tip sandwich. Bread was good. Meat had a good, smokey flavor, but it was dry and on the over-cooked side. They do have a full bar, and the drinks we got were decent. Good assortment of beers and ciders. There was a big delay in getting our order as they forgot to put it in, but they fixed it quickly and even gave us a free drink. If you're feeling lazy and don't want to cook at your campsite, good choice for some food.

What a pleasant surprise to have a nice restaurant right at Cachuma Lake campgrounds. Located right at the edge of the water, you can sit inside or outside - they're also dog-friendly outside, which is always a plus. Full bar inside with a small but decent menu. Their special smoked brisket quesadilla was DELICIOUS. Packed with tender, flavorful brisket and cheese, it was much larger than I was expecting. The tri-tip sandwich was decent, albeit a bit dry - wouldn't order it again. As I said, a good drink selection. They had some great canned ciders as well as a tasty, spicy Bloody Mary. There's not too much shade outside, so if the weather is hot, I'd avoid sitting outside. Definitely a bit more expensive. We paid nearly $80 for two meals and two drinks. So just keep that in mind.

We came here to watch the live band play and they were good! The restaurant closes at 7PM. The cashier was so friendly and polite, but I was very unimpressed with the chicken strips I ordered. $13 for three tiny rubbery pieces of chicken? Yikes. Everyone loved their burgers though.

Great location... Beautiful views... Friendly service, and the lag music on weekends can't be beat!

View from picnic tables. Catfish in the lake!

This is my go-to spot when we visit Cachuma. The food, service and atmosphere are spectacular. We always plan to have a least one meal here when we visit. There are dog bowls for our pup and she loves hanging out under the table. We're here for like the 6th or 7th time on a Saturday afternoon in September. My gf had the Veggie Grilled Cheese with Gluten Free Bread which is her favorite. And with the combo she added Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. Let's just say, I ate half the fries! They give you this buttermilk ranch sauce to dip in. It's freakin amazing. I got the Tr-tip sandwich with Onion Rings as a combo. They include a side of salsa for the sando and ketchup for the rings. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly and the bread was fresh and the perfect combination of soft and crunchy. The onion rings were fresh and hot and ginormous. They provided a satisfying crunch with each bite. We couldn't finish everything for lunch so we'll have a little midday snack to finish our meal which is just about the most perfect situation you could ask for.

Patio with amazing lake view.

The Hook'd Bar and Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Lunch is tasty, however they have started an upscale dining for dinner. The wife and I tried it last night and were very impressed. Small but excellent menu. A chowder to die for, a half baked chicken with sides and an amazing Rum Cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. All with a Lakeview!!! Try it, you won't be disappointed!!!

Passed by this place many times but never tried. Finally had a chance to try them. We were greeted by the cashier. The young lady was advertising their specials. A walnut pomegranate salad. It sounded good so I got it. Also ordered their plant-based burger. All was smiles and friendly conversations--then we headed outside to find a seat. It was almost a flawless transaction--until we got the food. The salad unfortunately didn't have any walnuts. It was literally just sprinkled on crumbs. Main reason I got it was because it's a walnut salad. But had no walnuts. When we told the young lady, she said they just ran out of walnuts and had to 86 the salad. The restaurant just barely opened and the young lady was advertising the salad. I get that maybe if she didn't know they ran out, the chef should have told her and maybe she could have told us and gave us the option to pick something else or refunded us. The issue is that they still served it and gave it to us incomplete. Without even telling us hoping maybe we'd just eat it and not say anything. It's a $16 salad. We returned the salad for a refund and now the salad is possibly wasted and thrown in the trash simply because of the miscommunication on the restaurant's end. The runner was very helpful though and very accommodating. He was friendly and had a good attitude. The young lady also was nice but maybe in the future better communication would help prevent waste.

We walked in early, asked to sit at the bar, and our reservation was honored. The restaurant was bustling but service did not feel rushed or hurried. We were lucky to dine at the bar; Mr. Maciel took truly excellent care of us the whole evening, remembering every request and taking care of every detail for our dining experience. His wine recommendations were also spot on. We decided to focus on three different pastas and were not disappointed. Highly recommended. My absolute favorite was the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle but honestly, every pasta was delicious. Portions were generous and leftovers were promptly boxed up to take home. Folks clearly schedule special dinners here, warranting dressing up, but casual diners such as ourselves also felt comfortable. I'd recommend dining at the bar for exceptional service and a front-line seat to all the action.

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

It's probably the only bar you can roll into by yourself as a woman and feel comfortable. As if things couldn't get any better, there's a treasure of a human in there who spins vinyl on Friday nights (maybe Saturdays also, but don't quote me) and you really shouldn't miss that experience. You are transformed into a tiki/tropical/ vintage/bohemian not sure what to call it atmosphere. Super mellow and chill. We sat at a corner couch across from the bar. Comfy and relaxing, and dim lighting. Drink menu was diverse. Great selection. From cocktails to all types of alcohol. With an average price range of $15. Bartender knew his craft. All drinks ordered were great! C for service. The service dept needs some help, and I get it, with one person serving 15+ people. It is impossible to provide a5 star service. Initially service was great with a smile when we first arrived @ 6 pm. But soon after the bar became super busy. The wait was 20-30 minutes for an order. It was time to leave. We asked for our check and it came non-itemized. If it was 2 or 4 drinks that would be fine, but we were party of 3 with over 10 drinks. Then we had to wait again after asking for an itemized check. Waiter stated they need to hand write as their "machine" was not working. That took more time than needed. Ahhhhhh.... Ah well.. you can't get it all. Hence the 3.5 stars. I recommend, to sit at the bar and maybe pay cash to avoid hurdles I experienced.

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.
