We didn't have reservations here but we were able to walk up and get a seat at the counter even though it was packed that day! Inside of this restaurant is pretty cute but can get a bit noisy since there are so many people inside. We ordered the Copenhagen caesar, Solvang hot chicken sandwich with crispy potatoes, and the mac & cheese with caramelized onions to share. I love a hot chicken sandwich and theirs is absolutely fantastic. The herbs, shredded cabbage, and pickled onions were a great addition to the spicy fried chicken. The crispy potatoes were so good, they held up well the next day as well! I highly recommend getting the caramelized onions added to the mac and cheese. The portion was quite big so we had to take it to go but it was also great to eat cold straight from the fridge. I was scared I'd leave a hungry but their portions are decent. just beware, the plates are on the pricier side. love how they use local ingredients though my favorite bite was the spicy chicken sandwich but the mac n cheese was also very unique and the salmon pastrami sandwich was stuffed with lox and bussing out the seams with cream cheese. Great service! I'd like to come back here and try other things, noteably the chicken sandwich which seems like the thing to get! Opted for a burger, and though it was good - it just felt lackluster. My beau called his salad "boring" which is a first (as he is the healthiest eater I know). They gave us a great seat with little room to spare for closing so that was very nice of them. If you were to tell me that I'd visit Solvang twice in a year I'd say "yeah right". If you added that I'd also be dining at Peasant FEAST both those times I'd say "REALLY!!!?" PF is an exceptional restaurant that serves exceptional food. I've only been here twice and the second time was better than the 1st. My only disappointment was that I couldn't get what I got on my 1st visit in February. And ya know what? That's ok. It presented the opportunity to try new things! This time I got at their French dip sandwich with a side of potatoes. OOF! If it's on the menu do try it and wash it down with a cold beer (or wine is nice too). The service was as excellent as the 1st time and the vibe also perfect. The patio area is pet friendly so sure bring your fur baby along (they'll bring out some water for them too!) If you're in Solvang, this place is a MUST! I came here for lunch right when it opened at 11am on a weekday and within 11:30am the place was already getting packed. The chicken sandwich would be my favorite entree of the 3 entrees I tried. My table ordered a different item on the menu with a different side so we could sample and share everything. I really liked the corn soup. French dip was good but it personally wasn't my favorite. I'm also normally not a key lime pie person but I read the reviews and it convinced me to try it. My favorite restaurant in Solvang has to be our lunch at Peasants Feast, especially with the appearance of the horse drawn carriage from our patio table. The pastrami smoked salmon sandwich does not actually have pastrami but the pastrami spices are present in each bite of the smoked salmon. It worked so well, I wish I didn't have to share but with so much good food, unless my stomach is bigger, sharing allowed me to try more things. I was so happy that we had an option to have a cup of butternut squash soup with that sandwich making it the perfect soup and sandwich combo. The shaved Brussel Sprouts salad is so addictive that I couldn't stop eating it and was a great way to get more veggies in our diet. This place is right downtown and has a lovely patio and dining area, and is always popular, so when I saw a chance for a late lunch without crowds, I jumped into action - and I'm glad I did! For my first visit, I am now a fan. The ambiance is nice and comfortable, with lots of natural light. I was quickly seated by a large window that looked out onto an area with tables for a bakery next door. Ideas for dessert? The menu is varied enough for folks, and I focused on the Gold Coast Grilled Cheese sandwich (sharp cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, caramelized onions, parmesan crisp, The Baker's Table pain au levain vegetarian) with a choice of sides. I had also noticed a new offering, a creamy Fennel soup with local olive oil, and toasted almonds. I choose a cup of that soup for a side. The sandwich and soup came together, and the soup was steamy hot - literally! The sandwich has a side served up with grilled parmesan cheese, and the opposite side (or flip side, as I want to say) has the traditional grilled look. I have photos of both sides here. The soup was indeed creamy, and at one point I was trying to figure out how to answer someone who asks, "What does it taste like?" And I still don't have an answer. However, it does have a slight herbal licorice taste, but not at all overwhelming, and if you don't eat licorice, you may notice it but not be able to place it. However, if you don't like licorice, I think you would still enjoy this soup, as the flavor is very subtle. It was extremely delicious. The sandwich, with the parmesan crisp and mixed cheeses, was very cheesy, and I loved that. Overall, the food was outstanding and the service wonderful, with water refills on cue and quick service for ordering and closing out the bill. My server, Maggie, was top notch - thank you! If you are in Solvang and want a quality meal at a decent price (for Solvang) come here, and if they are less busy than usual, all the better! read more

I'm the type of person who researches a place before visiting - spending the weekend in Solvang last week was no different. I kept coming across peasants FEAST and knew my family and I had to add it to our list. They were Michelin recognized in 2024! We decided to check them out for lunch on a Saturday, we showed up right when they opened and got a nice seat outside on their patio. The restaurant slowly started filling up more and more after we got there so glad we arrived when we did! They do not take reservations so it is first come, first served. We ordered the Kids Orecchiette with Butter, Lil McFeast Burger and the Solvang Hot Chicken. We got some drinks on the side as well including the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade which my daughter was obsessed with. I really enjoyed the food - it was fresh and well seasoned throughout. I asked for less spice on my Hot Chicken, but it was still spicy and tasty! Overall, it was a good meal, not my favorite of the trip, but still worth checking out for sure! Service was also spot on and she gave great recommendations! We would definitely give them another shot next time we're in Solvang! What an amazing spot! Was in town for a few hours and stumbled upon a friend's recommendation for Peasants Feast. Michelin bib gourmand for a good reason! I got the hot chicken sandwich and WOW. Chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned and the added cabbage and herbs made it feel so fresh and light. 10/10 recommend the sandwich. My parents got the grilled cheese, also delicious but still cannot get over the chicken sandwich. Got the frozen lime pie dessert and also was delicious. wonderful restaurant that deserves its spot on the michelin guide! everything was well worth the money and sitting through the heat for. you can find lots of public lots/street parking nearby! we came around 1:00pm as a table of 5 and beat the late lunch rush so we had no wait (to sit outside). some of the chairs do burn up if they're not in the shade so beware if you're wearing shorts or a skirt. we ordered three of their chicken sandwiches and one burger. i asked for my spice on the side since i didn't know how spicy it'd be, and they were able to accommodate! friends said the burger was the juiciest burger they've ever had, and everyone raved about the buns and the crispy potatoes. the salad was also really solid and helped break up the greasiness well. the chicken sandwich was incredibly juicy and held its crunch well. everything was fantastic! if you're willing to share as a table, i would have half of the people get salads and half get the potatoes. while they are good, the portions of potato are HUGE and we ended up having leftovers too! my one very minor gripe was i think the potatoes needed more salt out the fryer. that's literally it HA i'm okay with it being pricy because the chefs know what they're doing here for realsies. servers were nice as well! would definitely revisit to try something else read more

Clearly the love shows up with intention behind each dish here. It's no surprise that they have earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fourth consecutive year! A true gem of a restaurant. Me and my friends enjoyed mushroom tacos, carnitas tacos, a perfectly crafted burger, velvety butternut squash soup finished with pepitas and chili oil, Parmesan-crusted grilled cheese, and creamy mac n cheese. Luckily my friends love to share, so it gave me a chance to taste everything. My favorites were the butternut squash soup, burger, and tacos. No complaints with the other items, but these stood out the most flavor wise. It's best to get here early! Preferably just before noon, because it gets busy fast. Our wait time was about 30-40 minutes, so we wandered close by to check out some of the shops. Notifications are by text, which is convenient. If you are crunched for time, then check out their extended restaurant across the street. Peasants Deli & Market which offers sandwiches. Fun Fact: The word Peasants means "Community" to the business name and Feast is named after Chef Sarah Cherney's mom. Sharing meals and bringing people together is what it's all about. Visited peasant feast on a solvang day trip for lunch. Food was delicious and generally fair value for the area, so much so that I decided to have round 2 at their deli market across the street! Corn Soup $13 Pricey but delicious. Worth trying once. Pastrami Smoked Salmon $21 I'm a sucker for smoked salmon so I bit the bullet. Although I can't quite put my finger on how pastrami smoked salmon is different than your usual smoked salmon, I can tell that the fish quality is great, and it has the same smoothness that makes *smoked salmon superior to other forms of cooked salmon*. (*personal opinion but fight me if u think otherwise.) House Pickles $16 Something I would order again! I enjoyed how they had a variety of veggies pickled here and my fav to try was the cauliflower (very crunchy) and the beets. Usually I'm not a big fan of beets, but this pickled version had a great balance between sweetness and briney sourness. The portions for this one are better for a larger table, since it's heavy on flavor, and I couldn't finish it on my own. I had asked for it to go but they only provided a paper box, which is kinda bad for keeping pickles so ended up tossing some out before the drive back... The hot chicken sandwich seemed popular so I went for it and was impressed, but about half way through when I reached the fresh parsley and dill in the dressing, that's when they got the fifth star! We also loved the burger and the smoked bacon on the appetizers. The interior is charming and peaceful on a weekday afternoon. I can imagine them getting very busy on the weekends. I thought the beans on the side were too salty for my liking. The flavor wasn't anything particularly unique.
