    Hot chicken sandwich
    Naomi W.

What an amazing spot! Was in town for a few hours and stumbled upon a friend's recommendation for Peasants Feast. Michelin bib gourmand for a good reason! I got the hot chicken sandwich and WOW. Chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned and the added cabbage and herbs made it feel so fresh and light. 10/10 recommend the sandwich. My parents got the grilled cheese, also delicious but still cannot get over the chicken sandwich. Got the frozen lime pie dessert and also was delicious. Interior is very cute and cozy and they have outdoor seating as well. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again.

    Brussels Sprouts Salad

My favorite restaurant in Solvang has to be our lunch at Peasants Feast, especially with the appearance of the horse drawn carriage from our patio table. The pastrami smoked salmon sandwich does not actually have pastrami but the pastrami spices are present in each bite of the smoked salmon. It worked so well, I wish I didn't have to share but with so much good food, unless my stomach is bigger, sharing allowed me to try more things. I was so happy that we had an option to have a cup of butternut squash soup with that sandwich making it the perfect soup and sandwich combo. The shaved Brussel Sprouts salad is so addictive that I couldn't stop eating it and was a great way to get more veggies in our diet. Even though I over ordered to try everything I wanted, shaved Brussels Sprouts salad, halibut tacos and pastrami smoked salmon sandwich with a cup of butternut squash soup, I regretted not coming back for dinner to have it all over again.

This place is right downtown and has a lovely patio and dining area, and is always popular, so when I saw a chance for a late lunch without crowds, I jumped into action - and I'm glad I did! For my first visit, I am now a fan. The ambiance is nice and comfortable, with lots of natural light. I was quickly seated by a large window that looked out onto an area with tables for a bakery next door. Ideas for dessert? The menu is varied enough for folks, and I focused on the Gold Coast Grilled Cheese sandwich (sharp cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, caramelized onions, parmesan crisp, The Baker's Table pain au levain vegetarian) with a choice of sides. I had also noticed a new offering, a creamy Fennel soup with local olive oil, and toasted almonds. I choose a cup of that soup for a side. The sandwich and soup came together, and the soup was steamy hot - literally! The sandwich has a side served up with grilled parmesan cheese, and the opposite side (or flip side, as I want to say) has the traditional grilled look. I have photos of both sides here. The soup was indeed creamy, and at one point I was trying to figure out how to answer someone who asks, "What does it taste like?" And I still don't have an answer. However, it does have a slight herbal licorice taste, but not at all overwhelming, and if you don't eat licorice, you may notice it but not be able to place it. However, if you don't like licorice, I think you would still enjoy this soup, as the flavor is very subtle. It was extremely delicious. The sandwich, with the parmesan crisp and mixed cheeses, was very cheesy, and I loved that. Overall, the food was outstanding and the service wonderful, with water refills on cue and quick service for ordering and closing out the bill. My server, Maggie, was top notch - thank you! If you are in Solvang and want a quality meal at a decent price (for Solvang) come here, and if they are less busy than usual, all the better!

Mushroom tacos were a good vegetarian option, but it needed more flavor! Salsa on the side would have been good too. Our friends enjoyed the grilled cheese and BLT

I'm the type of person who researches a place before visiting - spending the weekend in Solvang last week was no different. I kept coming across peasants FEAST and knew my family and I had to add it to our list. They were Michelin recognized in 2024! We decided to check them out for lunch on a Saturday, we showed up right when they opened and got a nice seat outside on their patio. The restaurant slowly started filling up more and more after we got there so glad we arrived when we did! They do not take reservations so it is first come, first served. We ordered the Kids Orecchiette with Butter, Lil McFeast Burger and the Solvang Hot Chicken. We got some drinks on the side as well including the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade which my daughter was obsessed with. I really enjoyed the food - it was fresh and well seasoned throughout. I asked for less spice on my Hot Chicken, but it was still spicy and tasty! Overall, it was a good meal, not my favorite of the trip, but still worth checking out for sure! Service was also spot on and she gave great recommendations! We would definitely give them another shot next time we're in Solvang! I really want to check out the Pastrami Smoked Salmon Sandwich and the Nannie's Frozen Lime Pie next time! Check them out!

Delicious little gem in Solvang. Sat at the bar. Had the Kobe Dip Sandwich which was oh so good!!! My friend had the Brussel sprouts salad with chicken and said it was a little dry. The other friend had the tacos and said they were amazing!!!Our waitress/bartender was fantastic! Small location with. Covered patio. Don't have to wait long at all!

Had a bad craving for the Solvang hot chicken sandwich so made the drive up only to see the soft shell crab sandwich and had to order it up. The first bite just made you feel like you were at the ocean. The briny crab fried perfectly and paired nicely with the slaw. The crispy potato's and California chili aioli always satisfies absolutely love this place

Food and service were equally great. Maggie was my server. I sat outside as I had 2 toy pups with me. I had the Brussel salad and added a piece of hot chicken. Was delicious and fresh. Potatoes were a suggestion from my daughter. They're Michelin rated so there's likely not a bad choice on the menu. Maggie brought a bowl of water for the dogs.

Peasant's Feast in Solvang delivers comfort food with soul. I love the story behind this restaurant. The owners and their family are food lovers and everyone in their family loves to cook. Clearly the love shows up with intention behind each dish here. It's no surprise that they have earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fourth consecutive year! A true gem of a restaurant. Me and my friends enjoyed mushroom tacos, carnitas tacos, a perfectly crafted burger, velvety butternut squash soup finished with pepitas and chili oil, Parmesan-crusted grilled cheese, and creamy mac n cheese. Luckily my friends love to share, so it gave me a chance to taste everything. My favorites were the butternut squash soup, burger, and tacos. No complaints with the other items, but these stood out the most flavor wise. It's best to get here early! Preferably just before noon, because it gets busy fast. Our wait time was about 30-40 minutes, so we wandered close by to check out some of the shops. Notifications are by text, which is convenient. If you are crunched for time, then check out their extended restaurant across the street. Peasants Deli & Market which offers sandwiches. Fun Fact: The word Peasants means "Community" to the business name and Feast is named after Chef Sarah Cherney's mom. Sharing meals and bringing people together is what it's all about. Overall, a must visit when in Solvang.

A fantastic farm-to-table experience in Solvang. The mushroom taco was my favorite dish, simple and packed with fresh earthy flavors. The burger was juicy and delicious, while the vibrant salad tasted incredibly fresh. The mac & cheese was solid comfort food. The real surprise was the Frozen Lime Pie, it's light, refreshing, and the perfect balanced after the meal. We will definitely be back for more. Highly recommended!

Dropped by Solvang and decided to try this Michelin restaurant. The hot chicken was delicious. My schnitzel salad was good, but I felt the schnitzel was just okay. However, the salad itself was great! macaroni and cheese was okay. Overall, great service, cute place. What I really wanted to try was the kobe dip...maybe next time.

spent a day in Solvang on Saturday and had the best lunch at Peasants Feast!! we waited about 30 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all. We sat in the sun and enjoyed the nearby scenery while waited. The service was amazing, staff was great and the food was even better! Highly recommend the Mac & cheese, add carnitas! (Shoutout to Maggie for that recommendation) the shaved Brussels salad was tasty as well, added smoked salmon to that. We also tried the spicy chicken sandwich and that grilled cheese (added bacon)!! definitely a must-try if you're in the area.

This place is non-descript yet just off the main park downtown, and an easy walk from most of the major hotels in town, or the central parking lot - plus lots of street parking as well. It seems rather small, with one area for bar seating and small tables, plus a larger dining area "next door" to the bar, but I like the bar ambiance, so it may be challenging on busy tourist days. Luckily, I travel on non-busy days and have always had a good seat. The ambiance is great, with a typical, colorfully decorated pub feel with TVs offering an invitation to relax and have a pint - or two! The menu is varied, and I had planned for what I wanted, but when the server/bartender/boss offered the daily special as an option, I quickly jumped at the chance. The special was a queso dip with house-made chips, and I had to try it! Sadly, I also ordered my usual, the Cobb salad. Sadly, because after the "appetizer" arrived, I quickly realized the full consequences of the saying "your eyes are bigger than your stomach!" The dip and chips were plentiful in both, and for me would have made a great meal on their own. But I was committed and managed to finish the salad. On my previous visit, I had the mac 'n cheese and the Cobb salad, along with a Guinness dark! That was sooo tasty as well! The food at this visit was great, and the service was as well. Sam, who is the owner, bartender, server, and jack-of-all-trades, is always friendly, professional, and efficient, no matter how busy it is, and this visit was the only one outside the kitchen. If you're in the area, give them a try! And leave room for dessert - I have yet to do that, but you can learn from my mistakes!

The spicy wings had great flavor--more on the spicy side than "hot," which honestly made them even better and more enjoyable. The Reuben with onion rings was done right--classic, satisfying, and the onion rings were perfectly cooked with a great crisp. The bread on the sandwich had the perfect crisp as well, which really brought it all together. And the standout was the spicy melt burger. My friend ordered it medium rare, and it came out perfectly medium rare--juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly as requested (which doesn't always happen, so that's worth noting). Everything was executed really well, and you can tell they take pride in the kitchen. Easy 5 stars. Would definitely come back.

It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Lorenzo and Nora were also fantastic servers who helped make every visit memorable. Over four visits, we sampled several different entrées and breakfasts. The avocado toast and chorizo quesadilla were definite standouts, and every meal exceeded our expectations.
