This place is a crappy shit hole. The tables are garbage it's super Smokey and hot! To top it off apparently men are not allowed to wear shirts without sleeves even though it's fine for women to. I've been there several times with a tank top and never been asked to leave. But today it was a problem I wasn't there 5 min and I was asked to leave. First time going tonight, will never go back. It didn't look that clean and then the lady all of a sudden asked my party to show i.d.'s to play pool. If you i.d., you do it at the door or when someone orders liquor. One of the party members didn't have their i.d. so the night was ruined. It felt real predatory, real discriminatory. First time here. Not many people here, but it's a Wednesday. Very welcoming environment. Karaoke Wednesday nights and Thursday nights. The bartender Valerie is very knowledgable and friendly. Specials are listed on a board. Tried the Rusty Fish Hook twice! It's pretty good! The ladies' room has a little graffiti but it's mostly like so and so together forever! At least it's clean. Parking is easy. The regulars seem quite friendly and willing to accept anyone who walks in the bar. There are so many pool tables. I know there are other gaming areas but I didn't really look. Dance floor is kinda small but there's not any reason why you couldn't dance anywhere. read more

We stopped by hoping to down a few brews and shoot some pool. I have COPD so I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke. We opened the door...took one whiff and did a 180. The smell was stale powerful cigarette smoke which was overpowering. Too bad that the majority of people who don't smoke will also likely stay away from this establishment. They'd likely have many more customers if they fumigated the place and established a no smoking ban. read more

Horrible place! Used to love going here before they came into new management. Back then they had live bands and you could listen to all kinds of music. Now all they play is rap. Oh! And don't you even dare asking them to play ANYTHING else! After tipping the DJ so we could hear 1 song he got rude and refused to play any of our requests. Don't call yourself a Saloon and have a dance floor if you don't want to attract people looking to dance. Second, they don't cut off people the way they should. It got to the point that people were so drunk that they're all fighting or groping. This is definitely not a safe place for women at any time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Enjoyed playing pool. Staff is nice. Originally, they played a nice mix of music. Lately, not much of a mix. Actually, some of the most vulgar rap I have ever heard. Time to find another place to drop my dime. read more

First off , the improvement is so much better. Tonight my son and I decided to play pool at Mavericks after we ate dinner on the lake. I've had a very bad week with my mother suffering another stroke and my sister suffering from a back injury , so getting out for a while was very inviting since I'm the sole caretaker in my home. What started out enjoyable ,ended up with my feelings hurt and embarrassed by a young bartender. It was approximately 11 pm and the midnight crowd was pouring in. I was already exhausted and decided to head home. I'm not one to drink and party all night as I am a 57 year old female with health issues and I can't drink like my young whipper snapper days. Anyway I walked up to the bar and these girls were very busy so no point in being impatient . I did however let the young petite reddish brown hair know that I would like my tab when she could. She said " I'll be with you in just a minute ", I said of course " I know you're busy" . Whether she heard me , I don't know. So I stood there watched both bartenders hustle and bustle to beat the crowd and serve everyone. However I noticed that more new people coming in and being served prior to me. 10 minutes later as she walked passed me for the 20th or more time , I reminded her that I was still here and she said " I'll be with you in just a minute". The next 10 minutes rolled by newcomers served and this time I was beggining to feel ignored. A gentleman sat next to me and waved her down for a drink , he was served. She started to walk away again and I said I really need my tab please. She looked at me and said ," I'll be with you in just a minute and walked away towards the first cash register at the bar. I followed her and said " I've been waiting for more than 20 minutes and she began to lecture me about how busy they were and I couldn't quite catch it all but, she was very angry at me. I said , " it's just that I've been waiting for more than 20 min. patiently and I just need my tab . The other bartender beautiful blonde hair , exemplary job at bartending and always treated me with respect told the other to get my tab. She stomped away to the cash register then began complaining to another employee about me . I told the blonde woman thank you, and she proceeded to tell me how busy they were and so on . Now she's angry at me. Long story short after almost 30 minutes I got my tab , paid it and went home with my feelings hurt. I was very patient till then end and I told them both its ok , I understand. Whether they heard me or not , I don't know since I was being talked over. When I left the employees were giving me angry looks and then I noticed the petite bartender began complaining about to other customers. I had one beer, and one shot of cheap tequilla, therefore I was in no terms drunk and I had a full belly of Mexican food. I am an educated intelligent woman who has mainly worked over a lifetime to catering to others needs, (i.e. Cocktail waitress, bartending, licensed hair dresser, Registered Nurse and now caretaker of my mother. I am a widow of 7 years, 3 children , 6 grand, 1 on the way and the eldest of 7 siblings. Why am I sharing my life, because I am a human being and I have feelings too. I've spent monies there on machines, drinks, tips , tips and more tips. My point is I was being blamed for the busy, understaffed evening, embarrassed, lectured, scrutinized and given the looks that could kill. Ok I've said what I've had to say and feel, and whether anyone reads this matters not , because this was to convince myself that I did nothing wrong nor deserving of the treatment from the very busy bartenders. Short version: they doubled the tip we left giving themselves an almost 30% tip! Full review below. So I'm not sure how many people will read this since I only see two other reviews. I would normally give at least a three star rating because we are generally able to get our drinks and tabs in a timely manner, we come in with friends to play some pool and have some drinks. Anywhere from 2-10 people at a time but we will not be back. On our most recent visit we played pool for a little over an hour and had a few drinks, one small issue was one of the bartenders not paying attention that I had walked up but another that was on break came behind the bar to take care of me so that was nice. When we're done we closed out and came home. Now I'm not sure how many people keep up with their receipts like I do but as I was reviewing my purchases and noticed that the amounts didn't match. We left about a 15% tip but they had doubled it leaving themselves a nearly 30% tip. I'm not sure how often this happens considering most people throw out their receipts and others probably don't review them. So now we will have to find another location to hang out when we are wanting to play pool and have some drinks. read more
