Did not know we had a Mavericks in Sacramento. I used to work in sales and loved going to them in Reno. I havent been inside but this is one of the very few gas stations I will go out of my way for. Being a truck stop I though it would have the best deal on gas. Boy, was I wrong. It's $0.25 more than at our local gas station. OPPs!! I told my husband about it and he already knew it wasn't the best deal around. I should have asked first, but he wasn't in the car with me. The casher was really polite and helpful. I paid with cash to save a few cents, at least I think I saved. I didn't look at the card price. It's usually more so I think I saved some. When the cashier gave me the receipt he pointed out there was code on it and I would need to enter the code on the pump to activate the pump. That was a first for me. I wonder if that means that I don't need to give them the actual pump number as there is a code attached. I gave them the pump number so I'll never really know. Good to know for next time that this isn't the best deal around. It's not even convenient for me so this is good to know. In other towns the truck stops usually have the best deal around. So, I'm not totally off my game. There are lots of pumps and when I went there was no waiting so that was good. read more

I'm giving this Maverick station five stars, because it was clean, they have good food, and the employees are nice. I signed up for one of Maverik's Nitro cards to get discounts on gas and it came with a bunch of great perks. They included a free burrito, and a drink. I picked the smoked brisket burrito and it was better than I expected. It had a nice smokey flavor, lots of cheese, and plenty of meat. I accidentally grabbed a drink cup that was one size to big for my coupon, but the guy at the counter gave it me anyway. Thanks guy at the counter! The bathrooms so clean, they looked new. They whole station was in great condition, inside and out. They offer some great deals on food, drinks, and gas if you use the app, the Adventure Club, or the Nitro Card. I'm a fan! read more

I always forget how I like the layout of this gas station. The pumps are well spaced so I don't feel all crammed next to other cars. One of the lowest prices around and a very clean new station. Convenient to the highway and very spacious - lots of pumps. Got fuel here already a couple times. My Civic has a tiny tank and went of "E" just as I got to this area. Often I'm in the general Sacramento area on the weekends and with fuel being higher right now I heard the best thing you can do is go to the more reasonable stations. I was always bewildered when a gallon of fuel was less than the price of a gallon of milk... but this is probably some push for electric cars. They are nice and fast and at $9 a gallon for diesel - i wonder about our big rig drivers. read more

I needed gas and saw Maverick Adventure's First Stop and decided to check them out! They sell several grade options of fuel including diesel. They have a larger parking lot. Lots of big rig tractor trailers here. The inside is spacious with lots of options for food and drinks. I saw lots of sales as well. Buy one, get one free deals to Meal Deals! Ooooh! Once a week I drive for grandma time with my newest grand baby. This Maverick's is almost exactly half way from my house to his. It is easy on and off the highway. The restrooms are clean. And I have become oddly fond of this orange cream frazil slushy thing. They also have a little cafe I have never tried. I stop here every time. read more

Maverick in Minot, ND: On 6/6/26, the kitchen guy was very crabby and reluctant to be available to answer brief questions other than to shout at me. The cashier was kind and apologized 3 times for his behavior. Their club specials require you to buy 10 (!!) food/drink items before you finally get the 11th item free, whereas, we ​can go across the street to Enerbase; their club only has you buy 7 items to get the 8th free. I don't usually leave reviews on gas stations but this one deserves it. If you are a fan of MORR, you may have seen Maverik many times on their adventures in Utah. Imagine my surprise driving up to the mountains this weekend when we saw a sign for Maverik right here in California! Can't comment too much on their gas prices because we get diesel and it seemed reasonable, but what most excited me was their excellent selection of ready made food and pastries. They have some fun cookies like macadamia coconut chocolate chip, and breakfast items like a French toast sausage tornado. No idea what a French toast tornado is, but we got it and it tasted good! They also have a host of other convenience store items like vitamins and first aid stuff that would be useful on a road trip. The environment at the station was good. I appreciated that the inside is very spacious and clean with cool pictures of national parks adorning the walls and skiing videos playing on the screens. It definitely gives the sense of adventure. Not sure how common it is at gas stations but they also have a truck scale outside. If you're looking for a unique gas station experience, Maverik is it! read more

Maverik doesn't always offer the cheapest gallon of gas, but they're never more than a few cents off. Gayle and I go to the one in Minden NV often, but occasionally find a slightly better price at Arco/AM-PM. At the same time, Maverik's convenience store options are much better than most. This Maverik in West Sacramento is relatively new outpost, with a few challenges getting to it from the east bound freeway, leaving the station (avoiding the cones that folks drive through anyway), and then getting over to the left quickly to get back to the highway towards Lake Tahoe on US 50. Once here, the prices are still around 50 cents a gallon more than Nevada (gas tax difference?), but cheaper than most anything else around. I also found that the other parts of the Maverik model (roomy fueling lanes, clean rest rooms, and plentiful mini-mart offerings) to be very good and consistent with their other locations I've been. I also read recently that Maverik has acquired the Iowa-based Kum & Go chain, which I use when I'm back in my native Hawkeye State. I guess it's time to join the Adventure Club loyalty program. read more

This might be one of my very first five-star gas station / mini Mart reviews. But this brand new looking gas station is excellent. To start with, their gas prices are reasonably low. The mini Mart is absolutely beautiful inside. Plenty of gas pumps. A place for semi tractor trailers to get gas. And super convenient to interstate 80. What a wonderful alternative to that trashy little 7-Eleven gas station across the street. And, the gas is about 20% cheaper than the 7-Eleven. read more
