Nugget is frustrating in that their prices are much higher but will often sell you old items. I've purchased bakery items that tastes stale, like dry cakes that have been out for days. Pay attention to package dates so you don't get items that have been sitting around. If you don't you are absolutely wasting your money here. I just opened some pretzels I bought 2 weeks ago and it's expiring today?! Always check expirations dates on their items and skip the bakery stuff. I've been coming to Nugget Market off and on since its inception. I remember when it came to West Sacramento in 2004 and the excitement surrounding it. The whole shopping center was brand new at the time. This Nugget still looks as brand new and beautiful as the first day it opened. It's a grand store with high ceilings, everything feels clean and the workers are always the kindest people you've ever met. I really love the hot food here, sandwiches, fresh juices or coffee and now I've recently discovered their breakfast burritos. Their meat department is no joke either. Top quality meats of all cuts. Prices are on the high end but it's honestly always fresh and worth it imo. read more

I'm not a regular here. I've only been here a handful of times as they are pricy and not convenient. I came here today as I was running some other errands in this shopping center and only had 2 items that I needed to make dinner. Parking is pretty easy. They are in a shared lot with the other shops in the strip mall. I found a nice spot in the shade in front of the auto store. If you are a regular shopper at Target then this is a very convenient store for you and for those that live in the area. When I first arrived I was looking for zucchini and it was easy to find as the produce department is soon as you walk in the store. Check out was quick. There was only one customer before me, but boy were they chatty. I had to go back as when I got back to the car I realized I forgot the cream cheese. Being low on time I went directly to the customer service desk and asked where I could find the cream cheese to the 4 employees that were there. They were really friendly and offered to walk me to the cream cheese. That was really sweet of them, they could have just pointed me in the right direction and given me the isle number. She walked me all the way up to the cream cheese and also explained the layout of the store for further purchases. There were 3 brands of cream cheese. I bought the house brand as it was over $1 cheaper then the mid brand and $3 cheaper then the high end brand. With the help of the staff of Nugget I was able to get my groceries in time and I still had enough time to run my other errands before I had to be at my appointment. Yea for great customer service. Dinner was a success. Creamy Chicken and Zucchini casserole. The cream cheese made it so creamy and the zucchini made it so healthy, filled with over 4 cups of veggies. read more

I have been getting açaí bowls from Nugget since I got a gift card as a teacher gift. Service is great and I'm almost always greeted with a smile. The açaí bowls are so good! I've had a variety of all the combinations, but my favorite is the Nutty Omega bowl: blended açaí sorbet, coconut milk, almond butter, strawberries and bananas PLUS bananas, strawberries, blueberries, chia seeds and honey. Call me strange, but I'm absolutely fascinated by supermarkets that are not available in my hometown. When I saw Nugget market I had to walk in only because the façade is just so pretty. All the fruits and vegetables are laid out so precise and so beautifully. They have a very nice seafood section, an exotic cheese section, a wine section, a hot bar, sandwiches, bakery, and floral shop. This store is small but mighty. 9" FRUIT TART WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT GET IT. This review is for the 9" fruit tart from nugget. Please do not get it. It is so bad they give me the last one on display instead of having one in the fridge or something so the crust is like hard as a brick and the chocolate just makes it impossible to cut thru. Then you have the "custard" and it's just watery jelly... no flavor of custard at all. The fruits were alright but wow that was so bad. Fruit tarts are not supposed to be this bad but somehow nugget has the worst recipe someone could ever conjure. Just go to Raley's instead. My biggest complaint is the bakery. While the cakes are generally good, they've often been ruined by the messy handwritten messages, both chocolate plaques and direct on the cake. I can't afford to be a Nugget or a Whole Foods kind of customer but I do like to come for a special treat. Its been probably a year since I have been and wondered if they brought back their soup and salad bar. I looked through reviews and the last one that mentioned it was in 2012. Well... Its back! I was really craving it today. It is sold by the pound at 10.99 so be careful how much you get as it is deceiving. That and a small soup cost me $17. Nugget has THE best acai bowls! Of all the places I've tried, theirs is my favorite. I find that these acai bowls sit heavier and keep me full longer than others. I've tried both the Berry and Tropical topping styles with an Original base. I prefer the Berry topping, but I ask to replace the Chocolate Curls with Coconut Shavings. Don't get me wrong, the Chocolate Curls are tasty, but I feel like the chocolate taste overpowers the acai and fruit for me. Do not get food from the deli! I'm not sure how a food service place can so consistently give the worst and most violent food poisoning over several years (at least since 2019 that I've noticed). Whether it is the slices of pizza, the sushi, or sandwiches/sliced deli meat). I'm not sure how there can be so many cases just within my family alone, not to mention friends (last one was from the recent Thanksgiving weekend with sushi). Do they not properly clean? Nugget offers less variety than "Whole Foods", but are just as expensive. They brand themselves as a "specialty" store, but carry a ton of conventional groceries. Expensive and conventional...so the concept is...? I have more issue with the lack of variety than the prices: The full service Deli used to have a decent variety of in-store, made-fresh items. However in the past few years, they seem to have narrowed it down to pre-made salads and mayo based sides. If I am going to pay a premium at a Nugget Store, I am not interested in ready-made-from-a-large-container-or-bucket-deli-items. I would simply go to a regular grocery store. Given it is supposed to be a "specialty" store, one would expect an abundance of "specialty" items. Unfortunately that is not the case. They really lack a large selection of vegan, keto, organic and whole food options. Sure, they have some, but it is not much, and what they do have is overpriced even by WF standards. The store itself is aesthetically pleasing, they obviously put a lot of thought into the décor and design...and the parking is fairly easy.
