I stopped by Oak Park market because another SM site people were talking about how good Oak Park market making some of the best chitlins. I make the 25 min drive to Oak Park. I knew it was a gas station and a convenience store, but never knew they offer hot food. The day I went was on my big back kind of mood and ordered the medium size container of chitlins with is a little expensive $36.95 and I ordered a Chinese combo plate $15.95 which comes with a 20oz coke beverage. The service was amazing I did have to wait for more of everything I ordered to come out which is a great sign. It's a decent size convenience store with a wide selection of drinks, snacks, hot food you name it. It's definitely in the hood, but I didn't let that detour me from trying the food. My food was amazing and I will definitely come back for the chitlins. The food portions are extremely huge for the money. read more

Wonderful neighborhood gem! I live right across the street and have visited this market a couple of times now. I just brought my sister here for a third time for a late night snack, and we had the best experience. The women working here are incredibly friendly, and we genuinely enjoyed having conversations with them. Their market selection is really great, and we love supporting a family business like this. Came here recently for the first time ever to try their Chinese food. The service was very friendly and they answered all my questions. The ambiance was very chill and not chaotic or super busy, which was nice. Overall the food was pretty good, although it was a bit lukewarm, but I mean come on, it's a gas station, not panda express, so I'll cut them some slack. The food was very flavorful and the portions were generous. I really enjoyed the big girthy egg roll even though they had to microwave it, but again, I'm not mad about it. I've worked in kitchens before so I get it. My grand total was $22 for 2 entrees, an egg roll and a drink. Ive been seeing Oak Park Market on Tik Tok, for their Chinese food, and it looked really good. I just happened to be in the area today, so I decided to come try it. I saw that they stop cooking at a certain time, and when they run out of food, they are done for the day. Im not sure what time of day that is, but they didn't appear to be bringing out new food, and I was there at 12:45. I got the 2 item combo, which was half fried rice, half chow main, general chicken and orange chicken. I also got a side of bbq pork. The chow mean and fried rice, both looked like they had been in the food case for a while. The chow mean noodles were very mushy. Both of the chickens were good, but there was a lot of smaller pieces, which also tasted over done from sitting in the warmer for so long. All of the food, was barely warm, and the orange chicken was actually cold. My first thought when I started to eat it, was that I hope I don't get sick from eating food that has been sitting out and not at the correct temperature. It's only been about an hour and a half since I ate it, so its to soon to tell. My overall opinion of the food is that if you get there early enough, and you can get it while it's fresh, I would bet that it's really good. I will start that the brandy fried chicken is amazing! I will definitely come back for the chicken! But the Chinese food leaves a lot to be desired, got a 2 item combo with Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, and Broccoli Beef. The only thing I really enjoyed was the fried rice, everything else just okay. The noodles were a bit too soggy and overcooked, the Broccoli Beef was both overcooked and undercooked at the same time. Saw some IG posting and decided to try it the other day. Ordered 3 combo1 and some side dishes: Orange chicken and general chicken are okay. Beef Broccoli bland taste - I do not recommend. Short ribs - pretty good, highly recommended ( bit spicy). I also ordered a pound of BBQ pork, very dry. I do not recommend it. Spring rolls are okay. I love Oak Park Market. Literally your neighborhood one stop shop with anything you could want or need. It's really a true hidden gem. Everyone is always so friendly when I come in and the hot food is really good. You get huge portions for the price you pay. I've been coming for over 5 years now and the food has remained consistent over the course of those years. It is a very reasonable price, plus you can buy snacks and sodas when you're there. They have most of the household items available too. The Chinese food that I purchased was so bad, I would have preferred calling the manager rather than post here. However, the phone number is not listed on Google. I bought a small order of barbecue pork and another small order of chow mein. The barbecue pork was very overcooked, with several pieces actually burnt.With it being a small order, most wasn't edible. The meat in the chow mein was also overcooked and some charred. After a long day, I didn't feel like cooking, and picked up what I thought would be dinner. Instead, I was out of pocket for horrible food and still had to cook. ...mission failed. It's unfortunate, due to the older gentlemen in the morning and elderly lady in the early evening, both are very friendly. The lady is extremely personable. When I'm in the area, I get gas just to see them, a practice I've done for decades. Therefore I can definitely recommend the elders' customer service, but not the food. read more

This is the best black bean spare ribs I've ever had. The meat is tender and I suck every last bit of sauce from the bones. When I went into I was disconcerted by the appearance, and disturbed that the prices are outrageous. 1 16oz soda $2.49, 1 56L smart water $2.99. So I went to another store. gas prices are pretty comparable to arco... markets like this in a neighborhood are pretty useful as they carry a whole bunch of random items. they keep it convient and priced to where your not going to grab a bargin...but you might save some gas by stopping here instead of a big box store. They sell chinese food, but i've never partaken as my house is pretty close to this spot, i have heard good things though. sometimes you get randoms asking for change..but c'mon.. it's the oak park market right off the freeway..what do you expect. read more
