A pretty bad experience. One of the staff was pretty horrible and literally had issues. Just went for a rotor/pads brake job and one of the person names starts with Ro... was really a liar . He lied about everything from how much time it will be take to fix the car to what would it take to fix the car and as to why they need to charge me so much. He also was pretty rude towards the end just to ask what brand rotors they have put in my car. Got a front end alignment. Left the shop and it still pulled to the left. Brought it back minutes later and they put it back on the machine. Still pulling left. They suggested it was the tires. Yeah right I thought. They're trying to sell me tires now!!!. I was close to needing tires, so two days later I return to purchase two front tires. Once on, the car drove straight as can be. The guy Christian told me they would call when they were in and they never did until I went there and waited 40 mins for him to then tell me they ordered the wrong tires. Then he said Monday morning they'll be in, I call Monday morning for them to tell me they don't get shipments on Monday. The so called "manager" hangs up after I asked for his name. So I bring my 2019 civic to Mavis for an oil change (4001 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage) on 10/28/21, eventually I picked up my car and drove home, so far so good...Next morning, I'm driving on the Wantagh Parkway and suddenly I noticed a loud noise coming from the car's under carriage. First I thought I got a flat but that wasn't it, so I pull off the highway and looked under my car, and noticed a piece of metal was hanging from my car. Finally, get a tow truck and he looks under and said, "it looks like they didn't screw the Heat plate correctly and that's what hanging. I'm speaking with the manager and he's explaining that, he's mechanic probably didn't tighten the screws right and readily admits to their error. Really, no kidding, and now I'm out a $170 for the tow and missed 3 hours of work and Charlie who's the manager, when we went to get our car just said, " your all set" This kid doesn't get it, he offered nothing for our inconvenience, we're out over two hundred, loss of pay and this kid cannot even offer an apology. I couldn't believe this, who trains these children and make no mistake the entire place was run by children, I assumed the adults had left the building. Needless to say, Mavis will never see any of my cars anytime soon and a copy of this letter will go to their corporate office. Bro, don't even, they slick, they take ya key and make u wait with out telling you a wait time. A simple single tire change is usually done in 15-20 mins. They had me waiting a hour till I told them give me my key because I can go some where else. I needed a new tire and called and placed an order on Thursday. The representative was very very nice and called me later that day to say the tire wouldn't be in until Friday . I called Friday and was told the tire wasn't in and they would call me that day as soon as it came in. Saturday I called, same story. Sunday I called and was told the same thing. They will say they can't mount tires because your rim is "not stock" " we need a specific machine to do it" . Dude you're a tire shop you deal with all different wheels and tires, but guess what they still changed it 2 weeks later same rims. Mechanics don't know what they are doing they never gave me an alignment upon arrival, paid full pop and everything and am alignment was never done. Mary in the front is so nasty it's disgusting and Chris looks like he hates where he works. I always look for the best guys around and these people are worse than I thought. Took my car in for a front end alignment while doing that they noticed my coil springs were broken the mechanic remembered that they had a recall on the springs so instead of charging me to fix it he recommend I go to Hyundai and see what they have to say. went to Hyundai and yes there was a recall and they were covered free of charge. so thank you Tony for saving me $600.00. My wife took her car in to get new tires at 10am. They said they would install new Good Year tires, perform a wheel alignment and do a brake check and have the car ready by 2pm. We waited till 2:30pm to call as we received no updates only to be told they haven't even looked at her car yet and would call us back with an update as soon as they have one. 4:15pm rolls around and they called her to tell her they only had 3 of the good year tires in stock. So while we told the work would be done in 4 hours, we actually waited over 6 hours to find out they didn't have the stock to do the job. Very poor inventory management. I went to scorzellis and they told me that my son's truck shocks were bad and needed to be changed. My boyfriend and I made an appointment to get our cars inspected. The appointment was made specifically for a NYS inspection, and made the appointments more than a week in advance. We show up for our appointment and are told that they aren't doing inspections today, and to come back a different day. It would have taken them 30 seconds to call us ahead of time so we didn't waste our time driving here. We weren't offered any explanation and the man had awful customer service. I left my car there for two nights to have three tires replaced. When I went to pick up my car, I learned that there had been a homeless person camping out in it. All of his belongings were inside my car, including garbage, dirty socks, beer cups, rusted metal tools, stool softeners and other things. My personal belongings were in the bottom of a plastic bag full of wet trash. My car was neither brought into the garage overnight, as promised, but was also left unlocked after it was serviced. I paid $325 for the tire replacement and was promised that they would flip the bill for interior detailing. I called corporate and it took three phone calls before I got the regional manager on the phone. I had a very hard time getting the detailing paid for (my appointment is tomorrow morning and I'm hoping all goes well) and they refused to give me any money back for the tire replacement. On top of that, all of the disgusting trash that was left in my car by the homeless person, was still in the bin in Mavis's office today. I threw it in there on Saturday. I haven't had great experiences here in the past, but this last visit lost them a customer. I'll start off with the worst part. THEY FORGOT TO SCREW ON THE BACK LUG NUTS!!! I pulled out onto hempstead turnpike and the car made some pretty bad noises before starting to veer itself off the road. They drove over to me and jacked the car up and tightened the rims and it appears to be ok now, but i am still worried about damage to the wheel studs and am going to need to now pay a mechanic to check them out. This is also the 2nd time in a row getting new tires that i had to ask them to fix the TPM sensors so they would match up with their new location on the car. I also made an appointment and brought my car in 20 minutes early. I was told it would take over 2 hours for two tires. I let them know i had an appointment but i was told i had a lot of walk ins in front of me and that appointments don't "work that way" and then was told it was like a doctors office. Just so you nincompoops know, Doctors bring people in on time for their appointments or they are a crappy Doctor's office. This was it for me UPDATE: I called the Mavis customer support number that was given in their comment. The rep took down my details and the details of the incidient and told me that the district manager would be investigating and reaching out. It has been a week now with no word. They throw in so many little service charges and fees for absolute nonsense that drives the price of everything up 200+ more then what it should be. Take your business elsewhere! I scheduled an appointment with the manager Charlie to have new tires installed and a NYS Inspection . I dropped off my car at 8:30 in the morning. Finally at 5:00 I got a call that the car was ready. When I got there, I checked the sticker and saw that the inspection was not done. Needless to say, I was annoyed. The woman at the desk told me the inspector does not come in on Wednesdays. So why did the manager schedule an inspection for me on a day when he knew the inspector would not be there? No one knows! I spoke with Christian. He was very apologetic . He was sorry my car was there all day and that no one called me to tell me that the inspection was not done. He took it off the bill, yup, they were charging me for it! It was agreed that I would return on Friday ( day after Thanksgiving) to have the inspection done at 8:00. am . I arrived on time to find out the inspector will be late. Another customer was there waiting for him too. The same thing happened to her last Sunday. Charlie did not own up to his mistake and was not apologetic. He didn't seem to care that his customers are being put off and that he is losing customers. read more

Took my wife's truck in for a wheel alignment. No more than an hour later I received a phone call from a gentleman named Booker. He told me there was no point in doing the alignment because the truck needed tires and front and back brakes. I explained that was impossible because I had just done the fronts 2 months ago. He then said " then it's back brakes". Again, I said that those were done roughly 6 months ago. I said to leave the car alone I would come in. I then go in and see a gentleman named Charlie who said that it needed front brakes. Not back ones. I asked if he personally looked at the car and he said yes. I then said that his story and the gentleman I spoke to didn't match. I also asked what brakes had to do with a wheel alignment. His response was we check the car over. The print out he handed me stated that I asked for the car to be checked I was a bit confused because I made the appointment online and only asked for a wheel alignment. So basically they wanted to up charge my wife roughly $1000 for things that did not need to be done. I called the company and spoke to Donna who assured me that the regional manager would call us back. That never happened either. They broke my wife's key remote costing me money to get a new one. Again, no response from the regional manager. I'm the end I took the truck to a different place and wouldn't you know it only needed an alignment. How ironic. I wouldn't take my dead car to them. Once they new my wife was a nurse they immediately knew what they were going to do. The funny thing about it is that less than 2 weeks prior to this incident, I changed my son's front lower control arm and outer tie rod. He took it to Mavis and they did the alignment no problem. His car actually needed rear brakes. It also had a brake leak. I guess because it was a 2001 older car they figured he didn't have the money to give them to screw him over. This guy was so good, had a GREAT personality and I was promised that the job to replace tires would be done by 3 PM - the car was in the lot ready to go when I returned at 2:50 PM! Time for 2 new front tires. I looked up prices online and called ahead, Antonio looked up what kind of tire I purchased before and said he would put them to the side. When I came in a few hours later, Antonio was not there and there were no tires waiting for me. The next salesman I spoke to said they don't carry them anymore but would give me something similar. He told me it would take 2 hours and he'll call me. After an hour and a half Joe called me and said they put the tires on but the car is "pulling really hard to the left" and I would need a wheel alignment but I declined. When I picked up the car it drove perfectly straight. There was no "really hard pulling to the left". There was no alignment needed. Beware of them upselling you. Needed a tire in an emergency. Called in and asked for tire size. Received the price over the phone and they stated they would out it on the side for me. When I arrived I asked how long the wait time would be to have one tire replaced and the guy behind the counter said an hour in a half to two hours. I said I would just pay for the tire and go. He spoke with someone else and he said "cash only". I only had a credit card on me and they said "store policy". Guess they rather lose the sale. I have gone to this Mavis Tire shop before. I went in for 2 tires, brake problem and inspection. When I came in I was told the tires were 111 each. They later called to speak to me about the brake problem. They said that the car needed calipers pads rotors So I asked "what is the total damage" (meaning how much). The guy quotes me 564. So I say ok. He later said something about the battery but I said I don't need a battery. So when I go pick up the car they tell me it's over 900 dollars. I was floored. The person I spoke to when brought the car in is who I believe I am speaking with all along, unbeknownst to me it was 2 separate individuals. One talks about the tires and the other about the brake work. So when you come in they can tell you that they didn't discuss the total bill but parts of the bill they referenced. Seems like a shell game. I highly recommend you never bring your car to this or any other Mavis that operates this way. One person calls you and tells you what you need and the person who welcomes you and sells you the tire is not the person you speak to. They have the gall to tell me I should ask about what's included in the work. I believe they should be clear and up front irrespective of who they speak to and tell specifically what it costs Do calipers and a whole break assembly fail after just 3 years. I had similar work done 3 years ago at the same place. By the way they reset my engine light causing my inspection to fail. I wonder if there is a degree of duplicity. I have used them for inspections, oil changes, and bought several sets of tires from them for different cars. The guys that work here are always really nice and they don't try to get over on you. Went there a few times to get tires patched when I had a flat. No problem I figured. However each and every time they told me they had to replace the tire pressure monitoring system sensor on the tire. Said it was damaged when the air was let out to fix the flat. I didn't question that, it's outside my area of experience. Big mistake. Finally one day I had to have a flat repaired and in a hurry. Mavis told me 3 hours. since I had pumped up the tire I elected to go to the Goodyear down the road in Levittown. Aside from taking my car in right away, when I asked about the TPMS sensor being replaced, the counterman at Goodyear asked my why I would do that. I told him about Mavis. Now I'll grant you it was only about a $7 charge each time, but if you change enough of those a day, that's $7 each time, big money. Also, who's to say the sensors actually got changed. Never, ever again. If they'll cheat on small stuff, God alone knows what they'll do for something bigger. Oh, and Mavis customer service, don't bother responding and asking me to come back and give you another chance. Been there, done that. Nope. read more

Stopped into Mavis to ask for a quick tire plug. 2 mechanics out front, 2 mechanics out back and 1 unfriendly, unprofessional receptionist who seemed so happy to tell me they couldn't help me due to the 2 customers waiting. After she shrugged her shoulders at me... as to say... couldn't care less. I went just a bit down the street to Tire Pros and was plugged in under 5 minutes for $16.00. I gave the very friendly man who helped me a $20 and went on my way. Thank you to Tire Pros. Your my tire specialist for now on. Had a 9:30 am appt. Told it would be 2 hours for my inspection , oil change and wheel alignment . Came back after 3 hours . Seems they couldn't figure out how to take paperwork and keys 10 feet to mechanic to do work . Car just sat their for 3 hours . And it wasn't even busy . Then finally at 2:45 the car was done . That's 5 hours and 15 minutes to do an inspection , oil change and wheel alignment . Wasted my day and was robbed of opportunity to complete other errands due to incompetence . Not happy read more
