I was very hesitant to use a 'discount' tire store, but in absolute need. It was New Year's Eve and a Sunday, they were the only place open. I need a third plug in the same tire. Then I met the manager, Jim. An amazing man who literally went above and beyond. The most knowledgeable service manager who also pointed out I had a screw in another tire that needed to be plugged as well. He plugged my tires, we discussed new tires, as I was about due and my Bronco needed 5. He listed to my needs and by plugging my tires was able to buy me a few days to do my on research to pick what fit my style. I ordered them a few days later and he had them in the shop within a day or so. The price was exceptional. Jim was amazing. Beyond my expectations in customer service from any company. You really are doing yourselves a disservice by calling yourself 'discount' tires. You should be Mavis Tires where quality and affordability meet. Trust me, there are many people like myself that go to other shops like Goodyear or small town shops because the term discount makes it feel like low quality and poor service... which in this case, could not be further from the truth. read more

I took my car for an inspection and Vinny there was very professional and helpful. He didn't try to nitpick but showed some things I should watch out for and explained them well to me. I walked in without an appointment on a Sunday and they were very accommodating even though Vinny was the only mechanic there. They thoroughly checked everything and found nothing wrong with tire. They did not charge for this service, although we had purchased tires there. Needed tires right away for my BMW. The car comes with run flat tires and I've had cuts in the sidewalls on 2 of the 4 tires. Time to get rid of them. Was looking at the Michelin MXM4 tires, as I've had success with them before on multiple vehicles. Found a cheaper price online and contacted Mavis to see if they would match it. Got a return phone call and email within an hour, on a Sunday! They didn't have what I wanted in stock, so they upgraded my tires to a better tire but for a cheaper price than the MXM4s. I easily saved $300 on 4 tires! Even now, looking online, no one can match this price. Gary called me when the tires came in 2 days earlier than planned. We scheduled this for a non-busy time and I was in and out of there in less than an hour. This is the second time Mavis came through for me. Would highly recommend. read more

Very helpful . Did not have an appointment but repaired my tires when. Warning light went on

I went to get tires, brakes, front end rotors and wheel alignment. It took 6 hrs. I found that my vehicle was left unattended for long periods of time while I was being told that it was almost done. I had to stand at the front of the garage and encourage the mechanic to please finish my work. He kept leaving to do tires. Many people came in after me and left before me. After watching this and reading reviews I began thinking I should have went somewhere else. After many hrs and alot of preasuring them to finish my vehicle, the mgr gave me a card for a free oil change. I took thinking, yeah ok... I already knew I was never coming back here. The next day while driving my grandson to school, I started hearing a noise. I didn't trust taking my vehicle back there so I took it to Pep Boys for a brake inspection. I was told that my rear caliper bolts were loose and missing. I was planning a long road trip for the labor day weekend. They fixed the problem. This could have been deadly. I called the Mavis in Chadds Ford and informed them. The mgr Jim was very apologetic and said his people will be disciplined and that he will contact corporate and get back to me. He also said he would pay for Pep Boys service. To date I haven't been contacted by anyone. DO NOT use this location. The next mistake they make could kill you. I was lucky and blessed that I paid attention to the noise and distrusted the work. You might not be so lucky and their carelessness could mean tragedy for you and your family. read more

Made an appointment for an inspection online, then when I called the next day to confirm, they did not have the appt. Made a 2nd appt, when we arrived they stated that more than one appt was in the computer. Had 2 vehicles to be inspected, at 9AM and 10AM appts. First vehicle took until 11:00, second vehicle was never inspected before close of business. Call three times to check on when vehicle would be ready, each time they said "we are back upped today only one inspector". At NO TIME did they say the vehicle would not be ready. On third call they said it would be done the next day. Wasted half a day waiting for a call to say inspection was done. Told them we were coming to get the vehicle and their response? Ok. Way to do business. Will never go back again and will let everyone I know of our experience. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday morning needing to replace valve stems on my daughter's car before she headed back to college. Ted was super pleasant and accommodating. If I could give zero stars I would. Got inspection and oil change, guy calls and says $199 for brakes, $20 for wipers, $50 for oil change, $50 for inspection. That is $319, I say do it. We went item by item, and I said "So, we are looking about $300" and he said Yes, plus tax. I get there, they try to charge me $640. I told him that the price he gave me was $300 less. He fights with me saying he never gave a price. Now, what shop would not give a price for work? AND What customer would just allow work to be done without knowing how much? The manager took $50 off, and said they couldnt go any lower. Are you kidding? Trying to double the agreed upon price and then taking $50 off? Are you joking? Eventually we got down to $430 (no idea how we got to that price) after about 45 minutes. This place is super scummy. DO NOT GO HERE or at least get them to email you a full summary, or record the phone call. The manager said she would look at the tapes to see what he said, but I think we all know Ill never be back, so I wont be expecting any type of refund from these guys. read more

The Chadds Ford location has some serious issues to resolve before I'll ever consider bringing any of my cars back here for service. They overfilled a Chevy Spark by about a quart after they tried to charge me over $98 for a synthetic oil change. They also didn't reset the oil light. The person who did the oil change wanted to argue with me about it being over the second line. They had it in there over 20 minutes and still didn't reset the oil light. The oil was still over but I needed to get to work. I should of never brought my car here based on the reviews I read beforehand. Hopefully this review helps others to steer clear of the trouble. read more

I was preparing for a 1,500 mile drive when I grabbed a bolt in my tire. I called into the Mavis in Chadds Ford and they asked me to come an hour later. I showed up and they got to work helping me out. The pricing was more than reasonable and the staff were very kind. I know it's under new management and so far it seems like past experiences at this location should be left in the past - the new management seems solid. read more

Late last night my check tire pressure light came on. I thought it might be because of the dropping temperatures but one of the main roads near my house has had a lot of road work. The road surfaces are uneven and there are open pot holes so I thought it could well be a problem with the tire. I came to Mavis Tire, Chadds Ford a little after nine and was promptly greeted by Dionne. She was extremely pleasant to me and to another telephone customer. My car was seen quickly and soon I got the good news that the tire was fine! They checked out all 4 tires and said they were fine. I was worried because I have to drive 1 1/2 hours this afternoon and was wondering what I would do if I needed a new tire and perhaps they would have to get it from the factory. I have used this location several times in the past and have always been extremely pleased! read more

These people are saints! I ran over a screw and my tire deflated very fast. It was almost on the rim within a mile! They are the only shop open on a Sunday in the area and they told me to bring it right in. Within 30 minutes they had all the tires checked, the one plugged and checked out. Don't even bother calling or going to this place. They quoted me $510 for 1 run flat tire. Called my local shop (that was closed on sundays) the next day and they quoted me $370 for the same tire. The guy also told me that I can't mix and match back and front tires. My local shop also told me this is perfectly fine. Go to Three Js in Aston and you will get the best possible price and service. I went to STS for a vehicle inspection. I scheduled the appointment and the morning of the appointment they called to let me know they did not have an inspector. I rescheduled for the following day. 30 minutes before the rescheduled appointment I called to confirm and I was told to come in. Upon arrival I immediately noticed how poorly maintained they maintain the property. There were tall weeds and the place just looked dirty. I walked in and mentioned to the advisor in the front I had an appointment. I was told the wait was at least 5 hours. I explained I specifically said I will be waiting. They also informed me they could not give an inspection tag. These people are not professional and in my opinion they do not run a good business. I would give them negative five stars stars if I could. I called Pep Boys in West Chester and even though I was hesitant to go there I had a surprisingly pleasant experience. I was recommended to try this place out by our insurance agent so, unfortunately, I called them up and scheduled an appt for a state inspection without even looking at the reviews here. When they got back to us with the inspection notes and told us we needed several hundred dollars worth of repairs (tag lights broken, replacement muffler needed, etc) to pass inspection, we knew something was up and told them not to fix anything. What confirmed our suspicions about the place was when my dad took a look at the "broken" tag lights, he found that they had just been unplugged... Needless to say we got a second opinion elsewhere which came back with no major issues, just a few small recommendations, and nothing that would keep us from passing inspection. I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went in to get an oil change and possibly get my brakes done as well. After a almost $600 bill. Come to find out from another reliable mechanic shop closer to home that they never changed the rotors that I was charged for. All they changed were the brake pads. The rotors were factory rotors still on my car and were so corroded that the brake pads were basically not working at the capacity they should have been and could have caused me to get an accident. I'm sorry but I will NEVER get work done by you guys again. I am also in the process of making sure I get money back for everything. If I can't trust you to put brand new parts on my car how can trust that ANY of the work that was done. read more

Mavis fixed replaced my rear struts October 2020. I have had to take my car back at least 4 times to repair my right rear strut. I have currently been without my vehicle since Thursday, November 11th. They have to send my car to an auto body shop to fix what they have damaged. I told them I need my car to work and they are procrastinating about getting me a rental. You would think after dealing with this for over a year, they would be bending over backwards to accommodate me!! I have talked to the Regional manager at least twice regarding this issue. I'm currently waiting to hear from him again to discuss the most recent turn of events. This is beyond frustrating! I have been told that they will keep me up to date about the status of my car. That was a lie. If I don't call them, I won't hear from them. This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a business and to make matters even worse, I don't even think I needed my struts replaced. I think they seen an opportunity to get get over on someone and did just that! I'm hoping they will do what's right and I won't have. To escalate this any further. read more

They take advantage of people who are not car savvy - I was duped by their "caring" attitude. I've been a customer for at least the last 5 years. Shame on me for not paying closer attention to my bills over the years. In 9/2016 I spent $3200 for car repairs on my 2009 Armada. Karl said it was little things that needed replacing and the car would be in good shape for the remainder of it's life. In 1/2017, 3 months later, my check engine light was on and they said it would be $3700 to replace the 2 catalytic converters and manifold. Shocked at the price I got a second opinion and the 2 catalytic converters were replaced for $2,200, $1,500 savings! Since I was then suspicious I reviewed my past bills - over 3 years and 3 months they changed my Front Brakes 4 times - $369, $516, $621 & $1,738..... pretty sure the desk guys work on commission. SHAME ON STS! NEVER going back again. read more
