I really don't know where to begin? Years ago they claimed to replace my shocks and simply said they did. They tried to say my catalytic converter was bad but it was actually exhaust clamps that cost a few bucks. The only reason I find myself here today is a tire plug on my work car. It's also within walking distance just incase. So I literally crawl in this morning with almost a flat and park the car by an empty bay. I was asked to move it over in from if another one instead. No problem I moved it over even though it's just about flat by now. So then one of the mechanics tells me to put the car in one of the parking spaces because leaving it there won't get the repair done faster? I then explained that it was flat and should be moved and the mechanic said he didn't care. It wasn't in anyones way and ironically enough by the time I moved it and went inside they had it in another bay. So why complain? There is so many other local private non chain places to take your car that appreciate your business. I recommend you go somewhere else if you value honesty and integrity. read more

Unprofessional, Bad Customer Service, not trustworthy, bad crisis management too! Okay, this is my experience. Few months ago, I went there once, waited for about 2 hour and 1/2 hours and finally got my tires replaced, and brake pads replaced. (So I thought it was a good service, and may be giving the 5 star, and be a regular customer since I work close to this place.) Then I have another car, I thought of giving them to fix again. This time is totally bad, like 180 degree change, bad experience. Monday, (First Strike) - I first called them first, got the quote. They said bring the car in, drop it off, will be done by 3:30pm, (because I work close by, so I decide to do so). Then they called me saying they get the wrong part for my SUV. I went back around 3:30pm and tried to pick up my car and they are closing up the tires and said they can't do it today because they got the wrong part., and advised me to bring it back tomorrow. The manager literally said "See you tomorrow". So I trusted him, the next day, Tuesday (Second strike) - I went there first thing in the morning around 8am. The door was not opened until 8:15am, the manager wasn't there, only the assistance manager which was useless. I left my car there thinking they have the part and all the info. and I should be able to pick it up today. Lo and behold, I called the shop and the ass. manager said the shop manager was not in today, and there was no mechanic available and asked me to bring it back tomorrow again. I asked if he can contact the manager, the ass. manager simply said no mechanic is available, very rude and he called me rude. I told him i was promised two times and he had nothing about it, didn't even try. So, I went back and picked up my car with nothing done and guess what, I saw two mechanics working on other cars but mine!! Shouldn't mine be high priority? (I guess they want to lose me as customer - was about to give them about $1000 brake pads, rotors fixed, guess they didn't care!) Wednesday (Third strike) - The manager Lashawn finally called and left voicemail to apologize but guess what time he called. He called me around 4:30pm. Isn' t that too late? If I drove that car, and if I changed my mind, I could have dropped it off today, and have it done before end of day. But this call basically is apologizing, not doing anything. So, what is there is some sort of emergency tomorrow again? If he was sincerely apologizing, he could have called me first thing in the morning so I can have it done today. But that is way too late. It is modern cry wolf. This place cannot be trusted!! What kind of crappy service is it? First you promise customers same day, then you said wrong part, then asked Customer to come back the next day, then the manager (Lashawn - however you say it) did not show up, and no mechanic was available to do it. I wasted 2 days for this crappy service. The called me late in third day, and expected me to bring it back the forth day?! What if there is another emergency in forth day? I will never go back to them again even if I have to pay the dealer more money... (or go to other shop)! You may have seen lots of good reviews, but one bad review from me will be enough to lose one customer or more.. I was thinking to be the regular customer, but because this incident, I don't think i would go there any more! read more

Do not go here. Not only do they install your tires incorrectly, but then also don't hold themselves accountable when it is discovered. I had tires installed the summer of 2022. Recently had a nail in my tire and brought it to them. They patched the tire and brought it to my attention that the tire was put on reverse, and that this was not good because it would wear my tire unevenly. Big surprise that's the most worn tire out of the 4. -__- I told them that they are the ones that installed those tires and miraculously every mechanic there "claimed that they weren't working there last year." Yeah - that's believable! Nobody wanted to take responsibility, including the guy at the front desk who clearly knows nothing about cars. I simply wanted them to flip the tire to be on the right way and all he kept offering was for me to come back another day. I will never return here, and no one else should as well. Terrible customer service and they don't know how to do a simple install of tires. read more

I needed two new tires. I went into the Greenbrook Rt 22 W. location first thing in the morning on a Saturday and the staff was able to get me in and out very quickly. If you are looking for a specific tire, you may want to schedule an appointment in advance so that they can order the tire for you. William was the Manager when I needed car service. All of your Managers should be like William. He was professional, courteous, and extremely customer focused. He cared more about my satisfaction and his number one goal was to meet your commitment to me. I brought my car in later in the day and others might have moved me to the next day, but not William. He made sure my car was worked on to completion. He kept me informed and updated on the status. He also explained what needed to be done and the reasons why. He then spent time to explain the various differences in tires to me, which I found informative and very much appreciated. When I came into the shop the next day, Eric was at the counter. He seemed pissed off that he had to deal with customers. I needed 4 new tires and an aliment. After shopping around and checking out all the discount warehouses, and pricing tires online I stumbled upon Mavis Discount Tires in Greenbrook. On Rt. 22W. I had an idea of what brand of tires I wanted but didn't realize that each tire manufacturer makes many different styles of tires depending on price and use. Juan and Jorge from Mavis gave me a quick education on buying and pricing tires. This was my first time ever purchasing them.... Juan suggested Cooper tires because there middle of the road, he has them on his car. They gave me a good price.. They didn't have those tires in stock because I have an SUV, but they ordered them for me and as promised they were in the next day at 1p. I came back the next day and my tires were put on. I also needed my rear rotors done....They took me in the garage and showed me what needed replacing... No second guessing! I really felt that Mavis gave me a really good price They were willing to work with me since I'm a single mom . Mavis Discount tires has a really nice showroom so you can sit and wait like I did.They have comfortable chairs, magazines, and tv , water cooler which helped pass the time...It took a little over two hours to do all the work... I got a complete print out of everything they did and the cost was broken down . I gave them my email address and I received a thank you note for choosing them.. Did I also mention they have a free air pump to use if your tires need air? While waiting several people called in over the phone and they gave them an immediate price... DAY 4 - Still waiting from Corporate Customer Service. Don't bother calling them at the number they give. It is only a gimmick. They want the public to believe they are trying. It is now day 4 with no phone call and no car. My son was verbally abused by the store manager this morning. The Manager is not feeling well today and came in even though he is sick so he can't do anything. DO YOU THINK I CARE!!!!! He certainly did not care that no one called me and they have my vehicle and I canceled my weekend plans because of them. I would just like someone to take responsibility and say we are sorry, what can we do for you. And by the way the Corporate Customer Service never called. I guess it's not just the location, it's the entire company. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS LOCATION If something goes wrong there is no accountability. The auto repair shop I usually take my car to was backed up so I called Mavis in Green Brook , explained the problem with my car which was that it needed an oil change and was stalling, and was told to bring it in the next day. After dropping my car off I received a call a few hours later saying that my car had no gas and I would need to bring gas to Mavis. I explained the car had almost half a tank and was told I was incorrect as the mechanic tried to start it and it wouldn't start and then the mech crawled under my car and knocked on the gas tank and decided it was empty. I reminded the person that I told them the car stalled before bringing my car in. I was then told they don't do major engine work. Needless to say I picked my car up, shockingly it started and had half a tank of gas, and brought it to a different shop. worst service EVER!! I went to get a 45-Minute oil change which turned into 3 days without a vehicle. I dropped my pick up off and went to get a hair cut thinking it would be any typical Mavis appointment. I came back and waited in their lobby for 2 hours, then I got a call from the manager on shift (Still in the waiting room of Mavis) that there was a problem getting my vehicle down. Confused, I asked him to come out, the gentleman came out and explained to me that the pickup was stuck on the lift and they were unable to get it down. The team proceeded to tell me to find a ride home because they didn't know how to fix it. One of the mechanics was the ONLY ONE to come outside and have a sincere apology for what happened and asked me if I needed anything out of it. They gave me the store manager and territories fist names and told me to call customer service, and they preceded to close and leave me on the side of RT 22. The staff said a manager would be in contact, I called the number they gave me and Customer Service said there was nothing they could do. They never ONCE called with an update, and it's been 3 days without a vehicle, I filed a police report because I don't know what is going on with my Pick-up and Mavis has failed to provide an answer. read more

I went there to had my rear brakes replaced since I had a $100 coupon. I got a call from the manager Mark, that the brakes were too bad to put them back, and it was going to cost over $700.00 . Since I needed the car really bad, I told them to replace. They charged over three times for the parts, I compared with a local parts store, Advanced Atuto parts. Made an appointment to buy a set of Yokohama tires I wanted. Have a set of them on my daughter's car and am very pleased with the tires. The manager called me on Friday and said the tires had not arrived and my Sunday appt might not be possible. He tried to sell me a set of Cooper tires instead. I said I assume the Cooper tires are a fine product but I want what I ordered. He said he would make sure the order was still valid and would get back to me. He never called on Sat so on Sunday I took the car there and the Sun counter manager (a different person) took the car in. Then 40 mins later called me, told me the tires weren't there and tried once again to sell me Cooper Tires. Smells like bait and switch to me. Ordered the Yokohama's from TireRack. So I stopped by on Friday and got a quote on four new tires. The gentleman, without trying to offer his opinion on the tires, quoted me $412 (tax included). I would have gotten them installed then but I didn't want to wait 2 hours. He suggested that I come back Sunday, so I did. Upon my return on Sunday, I was greeted but another worker who tired to push the higher cost tire on me by telling me, "I don't know anything about the other tire...they won't last...you'd buy those before you sell the car," about the lower priced tire. So, I google the tire and found three sites where it received high ratings. I asked for a quote on both tires with instillation. Not only was there a $200 price difference but the quote for the lower priced tire was almost $100 more than the quote I received Friday. How is that possible? What was he trying to do? I left and found another shop and saved $35 from the original Friday quote. read more

Had a brake job yesterday. I have been coming here since it opened, Have no problem with the mechanics. Yesterday, I had an appointment and my car was ready at 3:00. Went to pick it up at about 5:00. I was standing at the register to pay for almost one half hour. Finally, I went to the back to find someone and was told in a nasty way that I had to wait and given a lecture by the manager. I've never seen a retail store where someone is not at the register. This company has to re-think their way of doing business. I never even received an apology. I went in with a 2017 escape got an oil change & 2 new tires. Came out need new car. They quoted me on tires so I drove to the place to purchase tire and figured I would get the oil changed since I was there. They bumped the cost of the tires saying they don't know how they did it because he was the one I talked to he couldn't deny it. I let it go because it was a difference of 20 bucks. He asked me do you want the tires rotated I said yes. He said I should call you in about 1 hr. 3 hrs later I called him and he says it's almost ready! My friend drove me to pick up the car. I see my car parked but the tires aren't rotated. So I walk inside and say not for nothing but there not batting 1000 with me. I tell him the tires were not rotated he said no prob they must have forgot because he told them. But he will do it himself this time to make sure it's done right. He will be back in 10 min! 37 min later he come back and says we are all set. I'm annoyed but whatever I pay and leave. On the way home my oil light comes on so I turn around to go back when my engine stops running. I coast into a parking lot and now I'm pissed. My friend is behind me give me a ride back to mavis. I tell them what happened and the guy says he will check it out. I don't trust them now so I follow him to my car. He inspects and says it was completely there fault they will pay for everything. They will rent my a car until it is fixed. They call me about a week in and tell me the car was shipped to ford. Ford said the engine is no good and needs to completely be rebuild. I have 4 yrs of payments on this car. I tell him I'm not comfortable with a rebuilt and he said it will be covered under ford. Ford only gives a 36 m warranty. The regional manager tells me not to worry because he can always get a Extended warranty to cover it while I have payments. When they called me today and told me my car was ready and that they believe I will be happy because they replaced the battery for free. The first thing I ask was about the warranty. They respond that ford only gave 36m. I said I know I talked to the reg manager can you call him. They do. He gets on the phone and said he didn't say that. He said " I would look into it." I called him out. I told him that's not what we talked about and reminded him of the conversation which he remembered! Still he said he looked into it and he couldn't. Then the work isn't as we discuss I'm not taking the car. He said take the car or get a lawyer. I hung up and left the car there. I called Corp. They tell me to pick up the car because they aren't going to pay for the rental. Meanwhile enterprise is closed until Monday or Tuesday since Monday is a holiday To be continued . read more

I went here to get my brakes changed after seeing the flyer that comes with all of the other grocery store flyers and I am so happy that I did. While I knew I needed all of my brakes changed along with the rotors I wasn't sure how much it would cost because every mechanic was giving me outrageous prices and telling me it would take a couple of hours. When I went here, the same day everything was fixed within 2 hours and the price was unbeatable. I was so happy and the brakes felt so good afterwards. The Prices are affordable. The technicians rush at times through the service. Every time I leave from this place with my car, I end up coming back. This is because my car is either punctured with a nail or the TPS system damaged and other issues as well. I am not sure if this is how they make more money. Something always happens when I leave from any Mavis Discount Tire. I would suggest you to warn them about it before they do such things.
