so i went to mavis to have a tire changed. Long story short the man behind the counter (Chip) was EXTREMELY helpful and polite and courteous. He was a wonderful help to me! So as I waited for my car to get done the other man in the garage with a white shirt (Billy) was not so courteous. He made eye contact with me sitting in the wait area and he proceeding not to even care that a woman was there as he repeatedly was using the F word. i counted 11 times from the time i actually started to count so many more before the 11. My college age daughter went there for an inspection and was bullied and intimidated into getting a new battery with a threat that it would not pass the inspection without getting a new battery! We've been coming here for years. Have never had a negative experience. Got a nail in our tire, they honored the road hazard warranty without an issue today. Brake pads were getting low - they checked our account. All we have to pay for is labor. This location is still cole, still has a few cole people left on the staff, but with a 9:30 am appointment time, and being told that I was next in the bays, seeing 2 cars go in ahead of me, now waiting over 2 hours to even get my car looked at, this is unacceptable especially having a appointment. What's the point of scheduling one when your. It going to have a bay available for more than 2 hours past the appointment time.. This is after initially calling and getting a callback confirming an appointment on the wrong day and wrong time... I don't need an explanation of why my car is not getting pulled into a bay, just pull the car in, get started. The location is clean and "NEW" looking with shiny new tires, a new flat screen TV and bright vibrant colors and signs all over the walls. But the floor is the same old dirty floor. Location has a FREE air hose for public outside with digital readout and pressure checker. To close, I have been here multiple times, BEFORE the Mavis name change and before it was dirtier and had more of a "local" garage feel. Recently I purchased and had installed four Mastercraft Courser MSR tires on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 8K miles on it at your Camp Hill, PA store. My appointment was at 4:00 PM. The tire installation was completed at 5:45 PM. I was extremely disappointed with the time it took for my tires to be installed as I watched your employees, all three of them in the garage, standing together talking for more than a few minutes. I mentioned my concern to Mike who went out and expedited the process. I also earlier saw one of your younger men walking around and playing on his cell phone when he could have been helping the other worker get my tire installation completed. What really upsets me is that I was charged $8.00 for tire recycling when I took my original tires with about 8K miles on them home with me. I did not catch that charge until I got home and was registering my tires online. I immediately called Mike who said he would refund the money when I stop in for a torque check. Was that a mistake or a way to get extra money? Another upsetting matter is a week ago when I stopped in to purchase these tires, almost $600, I saw the price on your website was $114. However, the gentleman who took my order quoted me $129. I corrected him with your website pricing which I showed him on my smart phone. While this was my first time in your store, I was immediately taken aback by what could be perceived as deceptive business practice. The price should be the same whether in store or online. The installer failed to mark the tires' positions when he took them off so that they could be appropriately installed on another one of my vehicles to ensure maximum tire wear. They put the wrong mileage on my invoice - more than what is on the odometer by 500 miles. They put 44 lbs of air in my tires despite the sticker on my car door saying the max was 33 psi. Finally, the worker kicked my door panels and left too big scrapes of dirt on it. When I went back on Sunday for a torque check, I asked for the $8 refund and was told refunds cannot be done on Sundays. The next business day I spoke with a Mavis regional manner who said the refund could have, in fact, been issued on Sunday had store personnel called him for permission to do so. While we discussed my total experience, the call ended with my not being convinced that corrective action would be taken so no one else experiences what I did. I did get my $8 refund after the conversation with the regional manager. Bottom line on tire pricing is that what you see on their website is not the final price. There are a lot of "add ons" so "buyer beware". read more

I brought my CRV in for an oil change on June 20, 2019. Staff was courteous, however short staffed. The tech who worked on my vehicle didn't put the engine shield on properly after the oil change and it fell of while I was driving on the highway. Anthony apologized for it and put it back on. Apparently, it was not put on right a second time, which caused it to fall of AGAIN on the parkway. As a result of Mavis's negligence, it cost me hundreds of dollars out of pocket to replace the shield, unnecessary time waiting to be towed off the parkway, not to mention the aggrevation through all of this just to save a few dollars on an oil change! I can not talk to any tire purchasing experience, but I can talk to the customer service and professionalism of the team. Yesterday I was in a bind where I needed my inspection done, and after leaving another area auto store (due to them completely forgetting my appointment, having me wait while they were 'working on it' but it hadn't been even brought in yet, etc.) I needed to return to work. I stopped by Mavis just because it was on the way to the office and asked it there was any way someone can look at it quickly. Not only did they take me right away, they prioritized it and got my inspection done very quickly! They were quick, friendly and definitely helped me out. Mavis was unable to find a specific single tire replacement, so I opted to replace all 4. When I went to pick up my car, instead of 4 new tires, they only replaced the 2 front tires with a brand other than the brand I specified. Since my car had been at Mavis more than a week, I decided to cut my losses and leave. Within 5 miles, the tire warning lights came on for both front tires, those which had just been replaced. I contacted Mavis HQ through their web site, and a gentleman by the name of Hugh contacted me within 48 hours, which I thought was a good sign. I told him my story, and he said he would look into it and get back to me in a few days. That was more than 3 weeks ago, and I still have not heard back. Incompetence at the store level and terrible customer service at the corporate level. I received a voicemail from what I believe is the corporate office. He said he understands I "feel taken advantage of" and to call him back so he can "break it down" for me. I don't need anyone to break it down for me. I am perfectly capable of reading a confirmation email that states the costs and time of my appointment. Mavis seems to think that a live person quoted me a price. The employee in the store said the "person who quoted" me was wrong. No person quoted me a price. A computerized website quoted me a price and an appointment time. The print out shows the price and notes that taxes are extra. I'm not disputing the additional taxes but the actual tire price. Let's say my lady brain did misunderstand something. Shouldn't losing my appointment and asking me to wait 2 hours equal a $40 difference in price? No further contact is needed from the company. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for a Sunday appointment. I ordered my tires online and made appointment way in advance. I dropped car off the night before so there were no issues of it being there on time. I received two reminders one on Friday before and one the morning of appointment. It is now Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm. My car is not ready and in fact it's not only not ready, my tires are not even at store!!!!! I was told my tires would be in on the Thursday prior to appointment. I am an essential worker and work in a hospital. I took day off to have my car serviced and looks like I'm not getting my car. It's 1:30 and they close at 5 pm. I also inquired about 10 % discount for essential workers that they claim they give. I was told that because I ordered online I got my best deal and I can't have discount they say they offer to us. Man at counter is rude and very unprofessional.. Spitting in garbage can as I stood at counter handing over my keys at drop off, and basically telling me he really didn't care about essential worker discount because I'm getting the best of best.. Do not waste your time going here you never know when your going to get your car..Ok as you can all see I received a response and I did as they requested. Only to be asked name and what store and was than kept on hold for ever. Needless to say I am again disturbed !!! I hung up with there corporate office and continued to treat my patients with the time they deserve... Obviously no one wants to talk to me but they needed to send a complimentary public response that they cared.. I went there on Christmas Eve with a slow leak on my driver side rear tire. After waiting two hours one of the workers rolled the tire to the customer waiting area and showed me a 1/4" thin piece of metal that was embedded in the tire. He proceeded to tell me that I have a problem, that the piece of metal was a staple and that there were two holes and the tire cannot be repaired and I would have to buy a new tire. The guy behind the front desk gave me a few prices. The cheapest being $165.00. And told me to pick my poison. I responded that I wanted no poison at all, to put the tire back on the car that I was not going to replace the tire. I purchased the tire from Mavis less than a year ago. I took it over to My Car on Route 88 Lakewood and they pulled out the piece of metal that was not a staple, put a plug Into the tire for $10.00. This is the 2nd time we have brought our car in for repairs and both times he was our service advisor. He was very friendly and courteous. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FIRST. I don't know anything about tires, so when an employee here told me that I could get tires with an 80,000 mile warranty, I said "Great!" After paying and leaving, I checked my receipt at home and saw that the warranty was actually for 50000 miles. I called the store to try to find out why and was told that I was basically SOL, the employee made a mistake, and there was nothing they could do for me, except put on other tires. No money back, nothing. Not good enough. I took my complaint to Corporate Customer service and was told that a Regional Manager would be contacting me about my issue. I never got a call back. While I don't think this misrepresentation was malicious, it still influenced my decision and the indifference and lack of response I then dealt with was telling. My tires are working well, but I won't do business with Mavis again. I should have gone back to Dunn Tire where I had my last 3 sets of tires installed and never had an issue. ONE DAY LATER... I got a call from the district manager, who gave me an extended tire warranty for my trouble. Thanks Mavis. I still wish I'd gone to Dunn. read more

I drive all the way down there just for David to act like a total jackazz totally rude to my face & says they DON'T do brake pads but they have to charge me to LOOK at my car just to let me know I need them & can only put rotors & AND brake pads not just brake pads. He's so unprofessional & rude I've never dealt with someone so rude in my life! STS needs to come back. First, I would like to say that appointments mean nothing here. It tooks hours after my scheduled appointment time, before they even pulled my car into the garage. Secondly, I took my car there to take advantage of their ad for $69 brake pad service, which really turned out to be $260. Not only did I not get my brakes done here, they told me I needed approximately $800-1200 worth of suspension work, not including a $400 part. I almost let them do it...but I took it back to the dealership, who were able to fix this MINOR problem they were refering to for $160- including parts and labor! Good thing I trust my gut.
