Find another place, ANYPLACE but here. Ken behaves like a cave dweller. Very shady. Quoted my daughter on repairs and a state inspection, which he advertises. Subsequently found out he shipped her car to another shop in Lavallette!!! God help you if you return with a problem. Neighbor had tune up work performed, 2 weeks later check engine light comes on, Ken says "its not their responsibility. I open the hood and find a wrench and some sort of test light laying on the top of the engine. Oh, stay clear of this place if you have any brake problems. Ken quoted an outrages price . Took the car to Pinebelt Cadillac, ( which is never cheap usually). They took one look at our quote and laughed. Their price was $310 dollars less!! The place is a rip off read more

Stopped in to see about fixing a flat.. the guy at the front was so rude. Kept going on about how busy they were and complaining about it being the day after a holiday. When asked if he knew of any other flat fix places he replied there are like 15 of them on 37, you just have to go look. He snapped that he had no appointments available and turned his back on me. I have seen this place and have said it looks like a great place to get your car taken care of. Then I read reviews and knew it was a place I want to have it done at. I called on a Wednesday for front and rear Brake pads and rotors and new Good Year tires I asked if it could be done by Saturday ,they took care of everything price was so fair! Today was my first visit to K and M Tire and Auto to repair two slow leaks in my car tires. I had made an appointment greeted by a courteous person and did not have to wait but a few minutes. They completed the repairs replacing the tire air valves. I am very satisfied by their prompt and professional help. I will return to their business and would recommend them to others. AMAZING. I called in a Monday morning after hearing some banging rattling for a few days in my back driver side. Gene had me come right in to drop off the car. By 11AM he had called me with a quote and said he'd order the part if I was ready. My car was all set and ready for pick up the following day before noon! Such a blessing here!! Called the store because I needed information on how I go about getting a car inspected for a insurance carrier. The gentleman on the phone was very impatient and not polite. He acted as if the consumer is supposed to know the routine. I will be reporting this to our insurance carrier and hopefully they will lose their contract. I have been coming here for two Years, fast turn around for tire remounting at a great price. Gene and Ken have been very helpful in changing timing Belt and water pump. They work with internet Tire sales thru Tire Rack mounting the same day they arrived. The place looks great and provide a Knowledgable quote on repairs and new tires. read more

BEWARE!!! I'm a senior and I don't drive much but I always take good care of my auto. I went to K&M because they are close and they advertised and have a sign in their window that they do inspection work for the State of NJ Motor Vehicle Commision. They were to inspect and have my car inspection sticker affixed . The manager named Gene told me I needed over $950.00 dollars worth of work done to my brakes. My son works for the road department of Ocean County and took my car to work one day. The County garage supervisor said the only thing needed was to have my front wheels balanced! I had that done at a tire shop in Manchester and my car runs just fine. I took it back to have it inspected and that afternoon I was with my lady friend and we spotted my car being driven over the Seaside bridge very fast. We caught up with it at a traffic light and followed it to Lavallette Kellys Sunoco station. I waited a few moments and went in to speak to the mechanic.He said K&M brings all their inspection work to him because they aren't licensed to do it!! When I went back to speak to Gene he became very evasive and said I was confused because I was old!!! I'm a Veteran and I might be old, but I'm not stupid.. I kept asking him about the sign and why my car was being farmed out to another garage and Gene became very rude and said he was going to call the police if I didn't stop asking him questions! My advise is to take your car to a better shop. THAT is the way this place treats us "OLD" people. so BEWARE!! I am posting a copy of this in our club house in the Village. My next missive is going to the Better Business Bureau. This how Gene treats us Vets. Wake up Ken Hartman! You have a loose cannon on board. read more
