Had an inspection on 6/8/2026 and agreed with the price for two new tires and right ball joint. I asked Kevin to put the two new tires on the front and he agreed. After paying my bill and getting ready to leave, I noticed the news tires were on the back. so I went inside, and they took my car into the garage again to correct it. I am sure Kevin knew because his assistant (I guessed) whispered into Kevin's ear at the front desk just before they took my car out. When my car was taken out the second time, they only corrected the driver's side and the passenger's side still had old tire on the front and the new tire on the back. I was upset and disbelieved, so I went inside again. I asked Kevin if the worker was doing drug.... The first error might be by miscommunication between Kevin and the worker, but the second time, it was done intentionally by the worker. Moreover, my invoice showed my car had 166,519 miles when they took my car in. After doing some food shopping, my car now reads 166,500 miles. Is there any quality at Newburgh Mavis now? read more

A day after that I went on vacation and one of the tires began a slow leak on the side of the tire. No scuff marks, no damage to the exterior of the tire. Just a small hole. I had a flat tire and this place was the closest place I could get to. They replaced the flat tire and suggested I replace all four. I agreed to replace all four. Then they called me and said I need work done on my breaks that wound cost $1000.00. Terrible customer service! Do NOT go there. Drive the extra couple miles to the next mechanic because this one was awful. Man working there with promised us immediate service over the phone because we specified that we were in a time crunch. We arrive and hear this man being incredibly rude to customers on the phone and otherwise. About an hour passes and our "immediate service" was evidently not going to happen so we ask and get immediately dismissed and told "whoever was on the phone with you was just telling you what you wanted to hear to get you in the store". Not only this but he specifically got every repair done in the entire garage worth of cars -- some of which came in after us -- then did ours when they had all left. I've been loyally servicing both of my vehicles at this place for quite a few years. Whenever they said my vehicles needed something done, I never question it and got it done. My vehicle failed a NY inspection due to them saying I needed a new rack and pinion, 3 new tires, and new front brakes which they said will cost $2800. This time I decided to take it somewhere else. It turns out none of the things I was told were true and I passed the inspection somewhere else. I went to get my tires balanced this afternoon at mavis on rt300 Newburgh. I had dropped the car off because they said they were going to squeeze me in. Anyways knowing they were closing at 6 I went down and waited in the parking lot. They callled to notify me that I could also use a wheel alignment, which would be a additional $120. I said ok go ahead and do it. They said it would take about 15-20 mins . Not even 2 mins after I hung up they brought my vehicle out and parked it. Waited another 15 mins and called and said my car just came out and was ready I watched and waited! They never did the wheel alignment! So I went inside and asked for the before and after printout so I can see it was done and they said the machine was down and there was already another car on it so they can't show me . When I mentioned watching the car sit there in the lot while they were supposedly working on it the man's face was blank and he ran to the back to get the manager. He said that since they were closing shortly they went ahead and started the wheel alignment without authorization and they figured if I said no they just wouldn't charge me. B.S ! I had an oil change done on my car this summer at Mavis in Newburgh. The mechanic didn't close the drain plug properly which caused it to come off later and spill all the oil. After it was towed to the local dealership service center, they determined that engine is seized. Car is worthless now. I drive my kids in this car all the time and thankfully this did not happen on the highway. This was a car that never had any mechanical problems. Mavis refuses to reimburse the damage. read more

Made an appointment for a random weekend day. At 0900 when they opened up. Walked in at 9:06 when they opened and waited on line. At 9:15 checked in...sat for almost an hour before my car was taken in for the NYS inspection. Still took another 25 minutes...unsure why they do appointments if they do whatever they want anyway. Service wasn't impeccable but the guy Anthony was nice and did his job correctly. Overbooked and short staffed I suppose, but not an excuse for poor service with long waits. Went there last week they were to put new tires that I had already purchased elsewhere. BF Goodrich 35/12.50/20 The guy upfront was pretty friendly. Well the problem is that looking at my receipt I see that they put in a note that there was a cracked rim and that I was informed and aware. BULLSHIT I DIDNT HAVE A CRACKED RIM NOR WAS I INFORMED. I LIKE HOW THEY HID THAT SHIT ON INVOICE. SO NOW IVE A CRACKED RIM RIGHT AT TIRE BEAD. SO NOW I RUN THE CHANCE OF MY TIRE GETTING DAMAGED CUZ THEIR TIRE GUY FUCKED UP MY RIM NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY RIM. Mavis made a 10am APPOINTMENT for me on a Wednesday for a simple tire rotation and balance. To make what should have been a short story even longer... I didn't get out of there until over 3 hours later. When it came time to pay I asked the manager what was the point of me making an APPOINTMENT if they were not going to handle sucha simple visit in a timely manner. She told me wasn't really an APPOINTMENT Mavis had made for me, but rather a "RESERVATION." What??? When I first was shopping for tires I checked yelp on this place and felt kinda bad for them for having so many bad reviews and wanted to give them a chance. The prices are good and after reading the reviews about waiting we were prepared to wait. It took all day and when we went to get our car it was on the lift (which are adjustable for different sizes of cars and supposed to lift car by the frame) I noticed the car was being lifted by the running boards not the frame of the vehicle and as a result they were bowed and dented by this abuse. I work hard to keep my car nice and seeing such disregard for our personal property made my heart sink. Mavis did admit the wrong and things have been settled but I am not sure I can trust them again with my property. read more

Never going to this place again. Had an appointment at 11am which I called 3 days prior to make, than I walk in there and they tell me I'm not in the system. Dropped my car off for an oil change and an inspection, which they said would take long. Called around 2pm and they said 3 cars were still ahead of mine...3pm and car still isn't ready. Absolutely ridiculous. 8/5/19... UPDATE. I came back because it was the cheapest place to get a new tire sensor.. once again dropped it off at 11am didn't get it back until 5pm. The very next morning I drive my car and the tire pressure system light goes on, I call them and go back in after work. The guy tells me that they never programmed the sensor before putting it in the car after they had it for 6 hours!! I should have read my own review and not come back here after I said I wouldn't. I took my vehicle in for a wheel alignment a month ago. After a day of driving it, I noticed the steering wheel was off center and pointing to the right. It's very annoying driving down a road/highway straight and your steering wheel is pointing to the right. I called them up and brought it in the following week for them to correct the problem. I'm not sure if it's due to Covid but I ordered 4 tires online with a scheduled time for the service. It is detailed how much I was going to pay. After having my car there several hours they call me to tell me that the tires I ordered are damaged and that they have other ones but I would have to pay a difference and it was like a $300 difference and I explained to them that I would pay the difference on the tires but not all of the other stuff. He then sarcastically said "Merry Christmas" as I was walking out the door. I used this company for years when I lived in Newburgh. This would not have taken that long. Less than 1 star. Online ordering was great with no problems. Arrived at scheduled appointment time. Waited 30 minutes to check in & do paperwork. Asked if the tires I got were part of the rebate and was told no. My online bill was $891 plus tax. So almost $1,200.00 dollars later we were done. Truck was promised back by 2:30, wasn't done until almost 5pm. Everything about this "discount" tire shop is a joke. They charge for every little thing and are not at a discount rate. Balance $80.00, Alignment $100.00, $14.00 for them to recycle the tires. Customer rep clearly stated no rebate for our tires, but I found 1 through their site for $80.00. Also did not mention anything about coupon for $10.00 off alignment. Clearly was not looking out to help us and I will never go back. Know your job, help your customers. Setup an appointment through their "call center". When indoor rides to have all four of my tires changes bald white guy at the front desk laughed at me and says "That's not gonna happen today"". They called when they said they would and even with an update, not overbearing, but providing sound recommendations.
