On 4/22/22 I took my car to the Mavis Tire in OSSINING thinking I'd get a plug in a needed tire. The store was packed with many people and a down man too short to handle the large compacity of people. Most all had tire troubles with there being so many POT holes in Westchester county. As it turned out, my tire had bubbles. My stay at Mavis was longer than I expected. But, I must say having been there longer than expected that day, how extra-ordinarily impressed I was with the Manager, Rich. He had an irate costumer who's wife didn't want to wait for her tires to come from one Mavis to another. He handled this situation professionally. She waited and her got got finished. He let every customer know there expectation, he called customers and wrote down everything he did and with listed prices. I even saw he explain a bill to an older gentleman that day. His staff respected him and when I left, my car was finished. Mavis gained a great representation by having a Manager like Rich. There should be more like him out there! Good job Mavis! read more

Used to go here out of convenience. Usually go there just to get tires switched. This one particular time, they suggested i get my brake fluid replaced. They said it was black and need to get changed soon. I told them i would take my car to my mechanic. The next day i took my car to my mechanic. They looked at the brake fluid and it was clear. They even showed me because i couldnt believe mavis tires would lie to my face. Mavis tire, or whoever told me my brake fluid needed to be replaced, is dishonest. read more

I bought my tires here. Service was immediate and I spent 1000 bucks on Cooper on/ off road tires. Try Try Try, however, to schedule rotations and balancing, all of the stuff that comes for "free" with the tires. I was told to come in, then told to come back the next day (with my wife following me and trying to find a place to park there? Please). The next day I come in and I'm told I have no appointment. At which time, of course, I am pissed. Getting your tires is easy at Mavis. Getting the free service that comes with them (free rotation and balancing for the life of the tires) is not so easy. In fact, it's infuriating--and you have to be prepared to leave your vehicle all day--in this case for a 20 minute balancing job. That's it for me, MAVIS... read more

My daughter scheduled an appointment, and was told they would not have time for her oil change. She rescheduled for a few days later, and when she arrived, they told her that it would not be done for 2.5 hours. When her vehicle was finally being serviced, the Mavis tech damaged the her tire. Mavis did not have her tire in stock, so she had to leave her car there overnight and borrow a car to get to work the next day. The manager said that of course Mavis would pay for the tire replacement but--get this- he refused to give her the oil change free of charge after all that aggravation. Poor customer service and poor mechanical service. Not a good combination. My daughter is looking for a local service station for her next oil change, not a chain that treats people like cargo. read more

Took my car to Mavis last march for brakes. Mavis said I needed brakes and rotors. After work was done I returned to Mavis (Ossining) over 10 times. I stated the brakes were squeaking and stiring wheel Waa vibrating when I stepped on brakes. Mechanice stated they did not hear or feel anything... After a while I just gave up!!!! This year I needed tires I call Mavis (Ossining) they quoted me $1041. 00 for tires and phone Rep stated no appt was nevesessary cause they needed the car the whole day regardless. So i called Mavis (new Rochelle) they quoted me 507 for the samw tire!!!!! Upon getting tires now I am told the brakes and rotors the previous Mavis used were incorrect for my truck!!!!!! Ooh and now I have to pay for rotors ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!! EVEN THOUGH I AM 5 MINS FROM OSSINING I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT..... and to know that i returned over and over is ashame!!!!!!!! I put my car in their hands, my life and my families life and here I am driving around a death trap!!!!!!!! Disgusting!!!!!!! Amd now another $507 to redo the same service!!!!!!!!!!? read more

I appreciate this Mavis discount location. They are honest about the service and always have great deals. They do not scam you. In October I went to them to get new brake pads and tire rotations. I left my car there and asked them to call me when it's ready. When I came back they told me I didn't need new brake pads yet but they still did the tire rotation for FREE. Most places would've just changed the brake pads even though your car didn't need it yet to get your money. So thank you, Mavis, for your service and honesty. read more

Took my car in for a rotation and balance. Yes, they did the work but for people who are specifically in the TIRE business you'd think they would've noticed that my tires were completely out of round. And rotating them made it worse. My car was making a odd noise and you could feel how off the tires were in the steering wheel. Not to mention the lug nuts weren't tighten properly which caused my car to slide. I learned all these wonderful facts ONE day after picking my car up from them. I just find it ridiculous that no one noticed I needed new tires. So sucks for them because I just paid over $600 for new tires and gave that business to someone else. Glad I only paid $43 for the rotation and balance. Idiots. read more

This location is the worst! I use to carry my car here in the past when Andre worked there. When he was working he was friendly to everyone and made sure the mechanic do their work thoroughly and treat each car like it was their own. And he would call you and tell you the diagnosis on your car. NOW. This is not the case. Once I called a week in advance, and left my Jeep there 8am, when they opened. They didn't call me all day, I called at 2pm then again at 4pm and they still had not looked at it. Nor did they call me back. Then at 4.30p (they close at 5pm) they finally told me what was wrong with my car (i had already known) and tried to upcharge me. But I told the guy that they had quoted me 2 weeks ago, for a different price. I could tell that the guy on the phone didn't know exactly what was wrong with the car. At 5p they finally worked on it and at 6pm I went to get it. I told them it was still making nice after the new brakes and rods were added, they said i needed to drive it for some miles. True, they were new brakes. But the notice got worse. I brought the car in weeks later and left it there Thursday night and said please figure out what's rubbing on the wheel, so it can be fixed Friday and I can pick it up Saturday morning first thing. It is 4.30pm and they told be they found nothing wrong with it (I could tell he was lying and they haven't looked at utbyet). So I told him, like I said a couple times, let them drive it and you will hear the sound. Then he says, ok we have a couple cars in front of you. -_- but I thought they said they just looked at it. The Guy inside mavis i believe is a manager named Andy tried to scam me on a 200$ tire which i found for 90$ online he even told me he's giving me a deal on it, and his customer service was horrible! Showed no respect to me, treated me like a moron. On top of that on of the workers almost backed a customers car into mine and acted like it was my fault! He thought i knew nothing about cars, i feel bad for those individuals who know nothing on cars and car parts and actually fall into Andy's scams. Worst customer service experience in my life. One of the managers, Anthony, performed improper work on my car. I gave him the opportunity to fix the issue and "he assured me he would take care of it." When it was time to be refunded, Anthony became irate and cursed me out in front of all the customers in the store. As a woman of color, I felt that Anthony's behavior was targeted towards me because of my race seeing as how he is a white male. During the multiple visits it took to have my car fixed, Anthony didn't speak to any other customers the way he spoke to me. Anthony spoke to me in a very degrading tone which made me feel embarrassed and less than. I will never forget how hard I cried that night all because of this poor experience. Never in a million years did I think I would ever experience something like this especially during this crucial time of the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement. I again had to avail myself of Mavis' excellent, honest service. Getting a flat is a pain-in-the-butt, but these guys make it as painless as possible. I asked for a inexpensive version of the high-grade tire that had blown (as I may not have this car much longer), and the Manager (My Lord, a retail store with competent management!) quoted me a fair price without an argument. He also helped me remove a external mounted spare which had frozen in place, no extra charge. RECOMMENDED without reservation. read more

I gave it 1 star only because I can't give it zero stars. I purchased 4 new tires from them and had them mount and balance them not once, not twice and not even the third time. After 3 tries I decided to take it to another auto repair shop and they balanced them with no issues. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't TIRES their specialty??!! The facility is third world to begin with. NO ONE is pleasant, NO ONE smiles and I never received a "thank you" or even a "gee, sorry for the inconvenience"! It's like their customers are annoying the hell out of them. And in speaking with other customers when I was there everyone felt the exact same way. The comment most often uttered was "I wonder how they'll rip me off today". Not only that, the place is a mess. It is old, dirty and totally non customer friendly. I can't believe that a well known franchise of this size would allow this type of environment to represent their company! Maybe a regional manager should get off the golf course and pay a visit (but be prepared for a long wait)! My advice to you........ NEVER go here! read more

My tire blew out a day after these guys mounted it. Apparently, they did not clean the rim properly which caused a slow leak. On the interstate at high speeds the tire blew out. This shop is much too sloppy and very dangerous! Beware! read more

I go here for no other reason than it is close to home. I had a broken rear strut that needed replacing. This guy from Mavis calls me and tells me the cost to fix the problem will be $210 and I agreed to that. I get there to pick up my car and he tells me the bill is $547!! He explains that the $210 is for only 1 strut and I needed both rear struts replaced. So he quoted me a price on the phone to replace 1 strut then in the store hands me a bill for replacing 2 struts plus labor plus taxes. Any dumbass knows when you give a customer a price quote you tell them the total cost they will have to pay. This is a BS scam. They intentionally give you a low cost quote on the phone to get you to agree and then when you go to pick up your car the actual bill is way higher. They ended up knocking off $100 from the bill but I still ended up paying $450 for a job I was told would cost me $210. They have lost my business forever after this. read more
