I had an amazing experience at this location. I had an early week day appointment and found that I had a screw in my tire and needed it removed quickly to make my appointment. Everywhere I went stated that there would be a long wait. When I got to mavis, the store manager was able to quickly help and I was able to quickly head back to on there road. Beware, went here for a state inspection and they insisted I needed repairs that simply didn't need. When the tech showed me the inspection booked for the rear engine mount, They said had to be replaced they had stars highlting and underling on it. Meaning they had pushed this bs to other people. The tech also failed to sign the Emissions inspection which made my life harder when I took the car to a reputable shop nearby. Its been 2 years and the mount looks fine. read more

I went to the business on Saturday morning they told me to make an appointment for 8am Monday. I get there Monday morning at 8 AM and they have three cars ahead of me from the day before. They had me wait 1 1/2 hours to tell me they couldn't do my alignment because they needed a newer computer system. The alignment calls for weights and they did not have the updated system to do the alignment. This should've been checked prior to making me wait 1.5hrs. My time wasn't important. Mavis Tires my new favorite auto shop. Called this morning around 8:30 am regarding replacing the brakes and rotors on my Truck. The young lady over the phone gave me a fair price estimate. I drove over, left the Truck at 10:30am. The gentleman at the front desk said the truck wouldn't be ready until the end of day as he only had two mechanics working. That was fine with me as Im use to that sort of time frame with mechanics. I actually had anticipated them telling me the truck wouldn't be ready until the following day. To my surprise at 1:30pm Mavis tires was calling me to let me know my car was ready for pick up. I was shocked simply COULDN'T BELIVE my car was set to go. Mavis attempted to scam me out of $1,000 - Please read entire review: I took my car in for a wheel alignment, pull to the left. About an hour later I get a call telling me that my control arms, tie rods and wheel bearings are shot, a lot of play in both front wheels and that my car is dangerous to drive, it'll run $1100 to repair everything but they can do it for $950 or something like that. I tell them not to touch my car, that I want my mechanic to go over it as it had passed inspection just fine in September. I arrive to pick up my car and employee tells me they were able to align the wheels and charges me. I get in the car to take it to my mechanic for inspection and they DID NOT align my wheels - same pull to the left. My mechanic goes over my car for an hour and NOTHING is wrong... at all. Front wheels are tight, all the parts I was told are worn out and bad are fine. They charged me for work they didn't do, they wasted my time like it belongs to them and they cost me another $60 for the hour my mechanic spent going over everything they lied about. The waiting room was full. Imagine how much they scammed everybody else in that room for. That entire staff should be fired immediately - assuming that Mavis doesn't condone this behavior. I spoke with their district manager. She wanted me to bring my car to another location where she and her mechanics could go over it determine if the Aramingo location lied to me. I countered inviting her to come to my mechanics shop and to compensate me for the 2 plus hours of my time wasted when proven her employees lied. She said Mavis will not compensate me for time, maybe vouchers for work on my car. Thing is, I'll never take my car there again and I only took it there for tire replacement in the first place. She was a complete waste of time and tried to set me up for a scenario where they get to save face. Do not bring your car here. They will scam you. read more

Awful experience. The people working there were nice, but it was criminally understaffed. I showed up twenty minutes after opening, I was told it would be about an hour or so. All in all, it took seven hours, and not once was i given an accurate timeline. If I had known that from the beginning, I would have dropped my car off and left. AMAZING SERVICE! I love Mavis. I have always gone to Mavis in Jersey but forgot to try them out in Philly. Soooo grateful I came here today for an oil change. They found that my rotors needed to be replaced. One shop quoted me an astronomical amount for it. NOT MAVIS! They really worked with me on pricing and gave me a more than fair price. After last night's horrific hurricane I found myself with a hole in my tire. I walked into Mavis expecting them to patch my tire. Turns out they don't patch. Incredible service. I went to the Nissan Dealership originally for a rotation & alignment. Only got the rotation b/c they said I needed a bunch of work done before I get it aligned or it would be pointless. Nissan dealership told me I needed a bunch of work done to the car totaling almost $4,000 on services for struts, tie rods, axle and fixing air fuel sensor. I took it to mavis initially to see what they would charge. After they looked at it, it turns out my front end was completely fine. They said I needed an alignment which I agreed to because that's what I originally had asked nissan. They are very friendly, understanding and easy going. A great group of individuals over all. Mavis has never disappointed me. I've been to quite a few and they always meet my expectations. I highly recommend. read more

These people are the absolute worst! I have come here twice with both of my vehicles to get an inspection and on both occasions they have told me I can't pass my inspections because I need brakes. Both of my cars are 2018 and 2019 vehicles respectively. I take them for routine maintenance at the dealerships. They want me to por chase brakes from them both times however, when I took my car to the dealership for an oil change l, they said my brakes are not in need of new pads and suggested I go elsewhere. Also, the staff is not knowledgeable about prices on anything. Just be careful before you bring your car here for inspection is all I can say. read more

So I schedule an appointment for 9am for a PA inspection. The website asks what you are coming in for. I arrive at the place at a little before 9am. The assistant manger Frank tells me his inspector doesn't come in until 2pm. What poor service. The appointment scheduling is all bogus otherwise someone would have communicated there's no way to get inspected until after 2pm. I guess they don't value customers time. Just needed a tire replaced. Was told I would be taken care of in an hour. Waited 2 hours. Was told only another 1 hour. Was another couple of hours before they said they couldn't find the lock nut key which I left in plain sight on the drivers seat. Half hour before close (7 hours after "1 hour"), I go in and they STILL have not started working on the tire. Worst customer service ever. read more

Came here for a tire patch. At first I thought I was going to be in and out, but I was wrong. The front guy was very nice and took my car back immediately. That's why I thought it was going to be quick. But then, I waited and then waited and waited some more. Got up to check what was taking so long. All workers were outside smoking! Since when is your smoke break more important? I can understand people need to take breaks, but not every employee should have done it at the same time. As for price, I thought it was kinda high. Probably because I know how to patch a tire myself. I was just being lazy. Overall: I'd probably be back only because it's so close. I do hope they put a break policy in place though. read more

WOW NEVER AGAIN!!! I've been coming here for basic repairs since it was open as STS.. I've sent family and friends there over the yrs but after the wonderful day today im done.. i got there just after 11 on my way home and had air coming from my tire.. so i stop to have it checked and replaced if needed and figured im due in a few hundred miles for a oil change anyway so ill just have it done now.. well just after 2 PM I was finally done.. amazing part was I noticed 3 people whom came in well after i did with flats seem to leave before me.. 2 before and 1 as i was just leaving the lot.. Worst service ever, and it's happened every time, so it's time to find another place to do my inspections and install my winter tires. With a 9:30 am appointment, I had to wait until 5 pm just for a state inspection, emissions, and have 4 winter tires installed. Other places have done this many times in under 2 hours, but it's taken them all day multiple times. This time, they returned the car to me, and the tire pressure system was reporting all 4 tires were low on air. The state inspection and emissions didn't even turn up anything that needed fixed. I've purchased two sets of Tires from Mavis and both experiences have been great. Their prices are really the best (I recommend going on their website and ordering your tires there, the site will also price match other tire shops). Customer service is friendly and there's no pushy sales pitches like you get at other corporate shops. The wait can be longer than expected, even with an appointment, so I suggest dropping your car off instead of waiting. Either way, I highly recommend Mavis for new tires. read more

I called around for new tires on my car, and this shop was the cheapest. I figured a tire shop would be pretty good at installing new tires. Decided to also have them perform a PA state inspection. I was brought back into the service area after the inspection and shown exactly what was wrong and needed to be replaced. Great service, there was no BS and although some stuff was "recommended" it was made clear it was optional and not immediately necessary. The bad part happened when I came back to pick up my car. Keys were handed back and I was sent on my way. In the parking lot I discovered that only 2 of the 4 tires I paid for were installed. The manager apologized and back on the lift it went, stuff happens, no big deal they were correcting the problem. Got it back, checked it again, and found a number of lug bolt caps destroyed. Manager agreed to replace them no charge to me. On the way home I noticed a lot of tire noise so I checked again and found the rear tires were installed backwards (wrong rotation direction despite an arrow on the tire clearly showing which way they're supposed to rotate). A tire shop should know how to install tires correctly. And if they mess something up it should be dealt with once and quality checked before returning to the customer. This shop does not check the quality of their work. Buyer beware, if you're having them do work CHECK IT before taking delivery of it. The only thing they didn't mess up were brake pads. 2 stars because they didn't try to BS me into saying my car needed all this extra stuff or it would blow up (as is typical of chain shops), showed me the work that needed to be done, and was professional in attempts to correct a problem. But they really deserve 1 star for the quality of the work that was performed. read more

Both the front tires were low on our car and it was cold; the temperature was in the low 30s. We went to a gas station to pump air into the tires, but the pump wasn't working so we took our car to Mavis Discount Tire. I explained our situation to Chris who attended to us and before long we were on our way to where we needed to be. Both Chris and the tech who helped us were personable, kind and compassionate. The store on Aramingo Ave in Phila PA, put refurbished parts (battery and alternator - both of which I was never informed at time of purchase were not new) in my car back on 9/08/18. The parts failed on 6/15/19 leaving me stuck on the side of the road and I was forced to purchase a new alternator and the labor to install a new battery as well as the labor to correct the bolts that were installed improperly by the Mavis crew which is the reason that everything needed to be replaced at my local mechanic. Had these parts been new and installed properly the first time I would not be required to spend almost a $1,000 to replace all of this. I was informed by the store and the corporate office that someone would reach out to help me with my issues and now two months later I have still yet to hear back after numerous emails. I tried calling the corporate office and each time I was put on hold and then disconnected. This company clearly has no care or concern for their customers or the work that they do. They are also very unethical by installing refurbished parts (at a premium) without informing their customers. My advise, use a good quality local mechanic and avoid this company at all costs. read more
