I bought four new tires at Mavis in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I also did a wheel alignment and other work as well including shocks. They seemed pretty good except that when I brought my car back home to New York to do my inspection the mechanic there said I needed new tires. My tires that I bought at Mavis about two months prior were already boiled on the inside. The mechanic in New York said probably whoever installed the tires didn't do the wheel alignment. I've been chasing Mavis since September 2 and the corporate office people keep brushing me off and telling me some imaginary person is going to give me a call and they never do. Stay away from this and all Mavis branches. Especially to buy tires unless you like buying them twice. read more

Anthony is the BEST!!!!! You know those days, when you reach a point and go -- yeah, this is just a bad day -- and you surrender and just lean into it? Well, that was today. However -- there was a plot twist! That plot twist's name is Anthony. Just got new tires from the dealer, 1200 miles ago and was getting an alert that something was wrong with one of them. Tried to get air in the tire -- wouldn't take, wouldn't hold. So frustrating. Reached out to Mavis, Anthony said to come in so he can have a look. We did. Ten minutes later -- all was right with the Universe!! Anthony hooked us up, and we were on our way. Friendly, professional, humane, generous, and kind -- we cannot recommend this place enough! I've been to this shop twice now - once for a blown out tire, thanks to Pittsfield's potholes, and once for a repair thanks to a nail. Both times the guys have been incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient. And the cost has been extremely reasonable. I would go back again in a heartbeat, and recommend to others. read more

Another surprise update: Seemed after really prodding them again, the regional manager got back to me. They ended up refunding me the whole amount spent that day, which was more than fair as that is about $200 more than it cost me to fix the original issue immediately after the brake job, that the previous crew couldn't fix, and I was supposed to get back, as well as the replacement of the back brakes. I was only asking them to cover about $700 but they ended up covering a little over $900. I updated the rating for a good resolution to a bad experience, even though it took a while to get there. Final Update: the regional manager has ghosted me. I sent him the email and photos that he requested. I tried texting him to find out what was going on and I have not heard anything back. So the concern about my experience is just a load of crap. Stay far far away from these dishonest people! I am considering small claims court since they want to play like children and just ignore me after they said they would help me. And I will be including lost wages in the claim. Where do I start? You can schedule an appointment with these guys but you'll end up waiting all day anyways. Last brake job was a nightmare. It was a little bit over $1000 for pads and rotors for all four wheels. After the work was done, almost all the warning lights were turned on on my dash, disabling my traction control. They claimed they could reset it with their computer but they failed to. So it was down to John's Automotive(good mechanic, but not always cheap) who reprogrammed the traction control system. I read that this could happen if the technician fails to put the car into maintenance mode. So there was another $200 to fix that, for which Mavis did not reimburse me, even though they told me to get it done at Toyota(which would have cost even more). Now fast forward three months after this brake job and my right rear wheel was making an awful squeaking sound. Turns out that Mavis didn't install some of the hardware and that has ruined the pads and rotors in the back of my car. So back to John's, and it's another $500 to fix that. So this brake job has cost me almost 2 grand because of the incompetence of this place. I will never go back again. I'm warning everybody else to just stay away from these incompetent idiots! Update: I am working with the current manager and the regional manager on an investigation and a resolution. I will update this review if a decent resolution is reached. My prior mechanics estimate for brakes seemed excessive and that I also needed shocks. So I looked for online reviews near where I work and found them mostly positive here, scheduled and saved about $600. They also told me I did not in fact need shocks. My prior mechanic told me my E brake was stuck and I needed a whole new system, but here, they cleaned it and fixed it without replacing any parts. No charge for that and they kindly put on windshield wipers I had purchased somewhere else. Shout out to Craig and Anthony and of course tech that do the work, Mario. read more

Giving them 1 star as I cannot give Zero. I made an appointment for my car, online, more than two weeks in advance. The website showed my correct car, my email, my home number, my cell number, and what services I was requesting. I got to the store ahead of time and received a curt welcome asking if I had an appointment and who I was. After responding what I was in for the person at the desk asked me what car it was. I let them know that it was the car noted in the reservation. The desk person said the reservation didn't show what car and they had no way of knowing what car it was. Then they told me the online profile isn't accessible to them. I noted that in the reservation I put the exact car info. Then they told me they didn't have the correct oil for the car. "Can you do the four wheel alignment?" "Yes we can do that." Cut to over an hour later, they told me that they couldn't do the alignment and that I should go elsewhere. I will not return. read more

I went to another garage in town, they said it was probably the Master Cylinder, which for this vechicle was around $1,400.00 plus labor and they didn't have time to work on it. I went to Mavis in Pittsfield and they took it in and saw a brake line had blown out. It was towards the end of day, they kept it overnight and put in a new line the next day for about 1/5 of the price (total) of just the other part !Good people and willing to help you out! read more

Horrible experience. Needed an oil change a couple weeks ago. Came in at 4pm and was told they were closing soon so they couldn't(close at 5pm) was told come back the next day. Came back the next day and was told their oil basin was full, come back the next day and I can get you in right away. Came back the next day and it was still full and I was turned away again. Ended up having to go somewhere else After three attempts. Now my brakes have been really bad lately, so I call at 4pm(they close at 8:30pm) and asked if I can have brake work done because it's very bad(Metal on metal rubbing) Was told if I can get there by 5 pm that I could have it done so I drove 40 minutes as fast as I could to get there by 5pm. When I walk in and ask about brake work the guy tell me his brake mechanic leaves at 5pm. Who manages this busines?? everytime I call they tell me one thing then I show up and nothing can be done. I went in for a simple oil change and left owning $215 minus "I'll discount the oil change $40 no $50 bucks. I'll just walk over to Auto Zone and get that part for you for either $92 or $94 bucks." It was 15 minutes to closing and I had already waited 2:30 hours. Mavis Corporate heard my side of the story and seemed genuinely empathetic and said they would speak directly with James and that he would be calling me soon. His response is noted at the onset. This is my second Yelp review ever. The first was to thank my dear friend and real-estate agent Alex Cortez who helped us sell our beautiful San Antonio home a couple of months back. We have now settled in the lovely mountains of Berkshire County still looking for an honest repair shop. They do have another manager there who does not play the same cons, at least he backed off when I returned the following day to give them a chance to set things right. I had to stop at Mavis to get some tires replaced. The store manager was extremely pushy in trying to get me to purchase things. Didn't seem to want to take no for an answer no matter what I said. I just got this car and all I needed was 2 tires nothing else. Then the lady "manager" doesn't seem to be in the right field of work. She dresses very trashy compared to the other employees and doesn't know anything about automobiles. Not even sure why she is there, she couldn't answer any questions without asking someone else. I am NO IMPRESSED with this business. First. I am a 100% dis navy veteran. Not once did he acknowledge I was a veteran. Or. Offer a discount..there 99 dollar add for rear brakes is what got me to go to the business. I needed rear drums and shoes. Which the cost he give me was 3X what auto zone charges. The crook offered me estimate of $ 300 bucks. Are you kidding me. 2000 hyundai elantra only 120,000 miles. Not really rusted up. I pulled the drums myself to check it. To see if I could do it. But after 3 back surgery's, it just wasn't possible.. so. I said. No way. Your a crook,and thanks for not even acknowledge the fact I am a veteran. Thanks apt.. so. Dangerous ! I was next door in AutoZone looking for someone to install a altenator. They called Mavis Tire and told me to bring my car in. Three hours later I was on my way. The next morning I went to take a look at what they fixed and I was horrified. They had put the old worn out belt back on my car. The car couldn't be driven. I finally got it to another Mavis Tire location where the nightmare continued. These guys are dangerous and cost me a lot of money. Stay away. read more

The shop is not prepared to perform an alignment on anything more than a rack and pinion set up. Twice I was turned away for an alignment due to bogus reasons. The second time that I came there, they claimed my steering shaft was off. They said they weren't able to adjust it and that I'd have to go to the dealer. So I went to Haddad Nissan, they brought me into the shop to look at it, and it was obvious that the steering shaft is fine, and that the adjustment rods for the tie rods just had to be adjusted. This place is terrible! they had me drop my car off and when I got out of work to go pick up my car I get there and my car has no tires on it and I waited at the desk for 15 mins before anyone talked to me and when someone finally came out to talk to me they said that they couldn't get the tires that they ordered and he came out rolling what looked like used tires and tried to tell me that those were like the ones that I wanted and they weren't even close. So I left there with the same tires that I drove there with and a terrible noise in the front right wheel. So all I got out of them was a wasted day, terrible service, a damaged right front wheel.
