The manager, Craig, gave me a quote of $650, which he explicitly confirmed included all four brakes and rotors--especially since another local shop, Kingsley's, had quoted me $900 for all four, and I would never have agreed to $650 just for the front. When I returned the next day, I paid and left, only to realize from my receipt that they had only done the front brakes. When I called to clear up the misunderstanding, Craig became completely unhinged and unprofessional. He denied ever giving that quote, screaming at me over the phone, calling me a "stupid bitch," and screaming, "I never fucking said that!" before hanging up in my face. It feels completely predatory to be a single woman walking into a shop and treated this way, taking advantage of customers and then lashing out when caught. After I escalated the issue, corporate got back to me and we scheduled my follow-up appointment. I was specifically told by corporate that Craig would not be there and would not be working on my car. Imagine walking in and realizing that exact promise was broken, and Craig was the person physically working on my car anyway. I watched through the window as he visibly struggled for nearly two hours on a routine job for a nearly brand-new 2023 Hyundai Sonata. When I got into the car to leave, I pressed the brake pedal and found it was straight air--zero resistance, a complete loss of hydraulic pressure before I even put it in gear. When I went back in, Craig made a face and asked if I had tried to move the car yet, as if the brakes failing while parked was my fault. He brought it back and claimed air was trapped. To top it off, Craig wouldn't even look me in the eye when I came in, likely too upset that corporate had chewed him out. Even though the brakes were supposedly fixed after that terrifying oversight, I am left with lingering, heavy stress that the job wasn't done right, and I'll likely have to pay another mechanic out of my own pocket just to get a safe, professional second opinion. If corporate actually reads these reviews: you have a serious management and safety issue at the Pittsfield location on Dalton Avenue, and you can easily pull my official complaint to verify everything. Between the predatory behavior, blatant disregard for corporate instructions, and dangerous mechanical incompetence, avoid this shop at all costs. a
