I would like to shout out the new manager Shay. I had issues with my new brakes for 8 months. Between 7 calls or visits, I was made to feel stupid and there was no help Or resolution. When I finally called customer service, Shay called me back immediately with a plan to resolve the issue. I went in within 10 min. She was knowledgeable and took action right away. My car was fixed that day and I haven't had an issue since. Also, when I went to pick up my car that day, I was greeted OUTSIDE by another member Jerry, simply saying "how can I help today?" Although near closing time Arturo stepped up and told me no worries we will get it done. I was elated. Antonio, Asst. The customer service here is complete trash. Made an appt for an oil change and they knew what kind of car i had- i get there and they tell me that they dont have whatever they need to complete my oil change. I then asked them to make me a new appt and the manager is making comments about how "he can make me an appt but he's gonna have to finish all the walk ins first. You make an appt with the doctors at 2pm and they never see you at 2." Okay - if you just dont want to take appts, might as well just say it instead of rambling on of how much you wont honor them. I get the whole point that of course, if youre working on something that you'll finish that task. However, you dont continue and badger the fact how you cant make promises for an appt that you set. "Does a doctor see you at 2pm if you made an appt?" The answer is YES if the customer service is good. You dont keep saying how youll make me an appt but you wont honor it. Clearly you didnt already honor mine because you werent ready to do my oil change. Also, why are you comparing your store to a hospital? Oil changes aren't life threatening. Of course an ER is going to go by emergency priority. News flash buddy, they dont take appts. Your store needs to balance appointments and walk ins. As a person who worked as an essential worker during the pandemic, being short staffed is totally understandable, but having to wait for almost 3 hours with an appointment (10/4/21) is pretty excessive. Not only was the wait long, but the specific tires (Michelin Premier LTX) I made an appointment for were not delivered on time so I had to settle for another pair of tires (Michelin Defenders T+H) that they claimed to be on stock. About an hour and half into the appointment, I was told only 1 of the 2 tires were on stock and I would have to wait for someone to pick them up at another location. If your inventory is not reliable, I suggest you check if the tires are actually available at your shop before you try to sell it to someone. The following day my air pressure light came on so I called the shop and spoke with the manager, Manny, who asked me to bring the car in and they will check it out. I had to leave work early since they close at 6pm and I work in Union County. I bring my car in at 5:52pm and explain my situation to the front desk clerk just to get my keys back to me at 6:01pm. I was told my tires just needed to recalibrated. I guess it didn't do it on its own while I was driving. Solved! Right?! Nope. My air pressure lights came back on the next day and I had to leave work early again just to be turned away. This time, I was told it probably had something to do with my sensors, but the guy who checks the sensors left for the day. I got there at 5:17pm. On the 4th consecutive day (10/7) that I had to bring my car in is when I actually saw or spoke to Manny since the day of my actual appointment. I was told it had nothing to do with sensors for Honda CR-Vs and that he will have the mechanics take a look into it. After being there for about 50 minutes, it turns out they never checked the air pressure in the tires and they were at 30 instead of 33. They actually tried to claim air was leaking out of my rear tires because it had cracks (which were just cosmetic and shallow). I asked the gentleman how he would know if air is leaking if my tires weren't wet (they didn't do a dunk or spray test) and he told me they checked WITH THEIR EYES. (After not seeing any punctures how would you know if air is leaking through the cracks with your eyes???) He then asked if I wanted a dunk test which I replied yes, and boy was he annoyed. He was just trying to sell me two more tires which I rightfully declined. So why hasn't my air pressure light come on since my pressure was set right if they're leaking through the [superficial] cracks??? Hmm... Now due to their lack of professionalism and detail I decided to look over my receipt. Turns out I wasn't charged correctly either. I go in today, (10/11/21, for the 5th time) to try to get credit back and during the 18 minutes discussing my bill with Manny, he was not trying to give me what was due to me, instead he tried to charge me for discounts they offered me. Who rescinds discounts after payment has been made?! He's the type of person to ask for gifts back when you break up. So, after being incredibly patient, on the 5th visit to their shop I finally had enough and left negative reviews and made complaints to Consumer Affairs and the BBB which led to corporate telling me their Regional Manager, Anthony, would call me. UPDATE: On 10/13 I spoke with Anthony and what a joke that was. Basically, the gist of the conversation was: oops, your bill was wrong so "I am helping you out and giving you your money back," go in the shop for the 6th time to get the money owed to you and "not a dollar more" or accept a voucher. Why the hell would I accept a voucher? I am never giving you my time or money again. His customer service skills were incredibly poor and as a result, I told corporate I had evidence of what I wrote in my review and that's when corporate decided to call me. The results were the same, but at least the lady I spoke with knew how to speak to someone politely and I got my refund, finally. Basically, they are all about the numbers and that is more important than their customer service. You will not get any credit/refund for any inconvenience, disservice, and/or shortcomings. And if you find mistakes on your bill, you will have to jump through hoops to get that back. It's time to change your policy. If your customer service was up to par, even with long wait times and mistakes, you might have a better return/repeat customer rate. It's unfortunate such a big company has outdated policies & unsatisfactory service. read more

I came here a couple months ago and the 2 guys at the front were so nice & helpful. From that experience, I came back because I had a headlight out on my passenger side. I went online and made an appointment on 8/23/23 for 8am since I had a full day ahead of me. 8am comes around, me and 3 other customers are waiting outside the locked doors. A mechanic pulls up and said they're running late and to wait in our cars. Weird and unprofessional but ok. By the time they got there 20 mins later, I went inside to a completely ripped up floor. Fine, looks like they're renovating. The two men at the front are not the same as the last time I came. I tell him I need a headlight replacement and he said it's going to be around $75-$100 for a new bulb. I've had my lights replaced before and don't remember ever being charged that much. I guess he could tell by my face that the price seemed a bit much. I asked for a receipt and he said "of course I'm going to give you one" and then was like well maybe I'll charge you $25 for the bulb instead. I'm like ok? I'm confused at this point. Can he just input any price he wants and charge for it? Then proceeds to tell me I'm lucky it's a passenger side bulb because the driver side headlight bulb goes for close to $200 if not more. Now I don't know if I can trust this place again. In the end I ended up paying $50.48 to replace a headlight bulb but I don't know if I'll be back after this last experience. Looks like they will replace my tire while replacing my new brakes with old one so I have to buy new ones. This was my experience in short.... When I arrive i dint even park and I had a guy harassing me for my information. Name?, miles,? Plate? Tires? Car?? Huh..!?? Almost went in to my car to get his answers.. I dint even know who the hell he was... while writing everything down in his personal pad. I went to the front desk to ask for a quote for tire. The same guys comes in and say "I'll handle him" (say what??). This guy started asking for all my information before even providing me with the quote I wanted. License? Phone number? Address Why does he need my information when I just want a quote?? And then he dares to ask me "haven't you done this before??" In which I responded, I just want a quote? Extremely aggressive and the price were outstanding. While he was giving me the prices in the 400 and 500 per tire. I was able to sneak a peak to the monitor where there were prices for 99 and 220 for tires. My plan was to replace all 4 tires. Replace all my brakes and do an oil change. Because of the way this guy was addressing me I dint feel comfortable in spending that amount of money and trusting them to do the correct job. I did not feel right and I did not feel comfortable. I was really hoping for a better experience. I spoke to Louis who was extremely helpful on the phone, and he told me they'd match the price and installation offered by BJs and it would take about an hour and a half. I set up a time for the next day at 11:30. After waiting nearly 10 minutes for someone to come to the reception counter, the upsell began. They'd honor the quoted price for just the tires, but the installation would be another $60. I had to bring up BJs website for them to drop the installation charge (which was included in the BJs price). And then they added balancing. And then the valve stems. And then they said they could get it done by the end of the day...not the hour and a half Louis promised. And then they wanted to add wheel alignment but by then I had already lost interest. I started my morning with a flat tire on my way to work. I was hesitant about Mavis, as I was screwed before by this store. I was greeted by Willie and Spencer, who helped me with the purchase of two much needed tires. I also had other issues with my Jeep, which they were great in assisting. The mechanic, Willie was very helpful, and told me what was done when he handed the keys to me, personally. Spencer definitely helped me when it came to getting everything done, professionally, and on a tight budget. When I left, they even said goodbye. Driving home, I didn't hear the wheel bearing noise that I thought I would have to live with . The car is now safe and I will definitely be back at the Mavis Ridgefield store. read more

Came here for them to check my tire the staff working on the cars were great. However I have to agree with other reviewers... The man at the front desk is just nasty. The way he spoke to me was uncalled for I've been nothing but polite all I came for was for some air on my tires. Got it done then pulled to the side to call my husband to let him know before I started driving and he came up to my car telling me to get out the way don't you see the other cars? I'm like I'm sorry it was only for 1 minute to call my husband and he says yes because you're on the phone not paying attention just drive go to the highway. So very rude. I thought maybe the Mavis location I went to was the problem but it's the company I'm going to copy and paste the emails is sent to Mavis Customer service and waited two weeks an didn't not receive any email or apology back, not surprised... I'm writing and to you and hope your company is an honest company and the issue I had was just with the Ridgefield Park, NJ. I have been to a mechanic, BJ's tire service and Pepboys and never an issue or had to go back not even once. I just want to start off by saying that I'm very upset and disappointed in your company because I was 100% taken advantage off, lied to and the service on my car was done horrible which is dangerous, I have two small children and it is dangerous what your company is doing, especially not fixing what I paid for. I'm even considering suing that store for all the headaches i've had and still having. Attached please find all pertaining paperwork, pictures, the prices I was given rather than I was charged and receipts. On 10/04/22 my driver side front tire had 3 nails and the back tire was low, I just moved into the town and the mechanic who is a block from my house couldn't see me that day and recommended I go to that Mavis because it is 5 minutes from my house. Again I wen to fix my tires and nothing else, I can swear on anything that my car was working perfectly fine, it had no noises no check engine it was just about the tire. They advised me I need new tires, so I decided to do it before the winter was here so told them to do it. My husband wanted me to change all 4 tires and the guys there told me the two back tires are fine and only to change the front tires, they insisted! I picked up the car and went straight home, the next day guess what?!? My back passenger side tire was completely flat on the rim. It was storming, I had to drop off my girls at school which is not walking distance and ended up having to take an uber, than take an uber back call the tow truck and take another uber back to Mavis than another uber back to work all during the storm. They couldn't tell me what happened to the back tire and then recommended to change the two back tires as well. Also your employees need to be trained better on how to inform your customers, the person gave me prices over the phone, I told him do it and then hours later calls me again to say sorry that's only for the front, like are you kidding me if I'm fixing all four tires why would you not say that in the first place? I wish that was the last time he literally took me for a damn fool and did the same thing two more times, I mean seriously how can you give me a price work on the car even before telling me the correct price than call me and say sorry that was not the price, who tell me who works like that? By the way there was another customer there who was not happy because he had just replaced one of his tires and the next day it was low, he was not happy. I picked up the car Wednesday night again it was a short 5 minute drive to my house so my husband didn't notice anything, Thursday morning on my way to drop off my daughters at school again, once again I have two kids do they not care about that and their safety? I noticed the wheel was not aligned and neither was the wheel balance because as soon as I hit 59mph the car started shaking like crazy. I called them and they told me to bring the car back AGAIN, this time I went with my husband because honestly at this rate I felt since I'm a female I'm being taking advantage off and treated like I'm stupid. They couldn't explain what happened and they said that they had done the wheel balance and alignment which I'm 100% sure was not done because the next day Friday it was actually done and the car drove ok. They recommended I change the front lower control and shocks. I will be honest and say I had already spent about 2100 in cash to fix it and they offered a Mavis card so I can put it on there, I'm not in a good financial situation right now and had no choice but to do it. I went that Friday to go over prices, your employee gave me a price of about 1,700 (that's that small piece of paper with writing i'm sending you as proof), I dropped off the car Friday night opened up the card and left the car there. The next day again instead of calling me with prices early, they worked on my car and then came back to me around like 4 saying that the manager said the prices weren't correct this and that and it turned to about $2,200! How is this possible? How can this store treat their customers like this? And then just say there's nothing I can do that's what it is. To add insult to injury my car is still not working right, after they supposedly fixed it Saturday, Monday again I the car was not aligned and shaking again past 60mph I mean seriously almost $4,400 later and the car is still not working right? I received an email confirmation with an order number AND a call on 8/1 confirming my tires were at the Ridgefield park location. I called the location today to set up the appt and confirm when I can get the service completed and it was difficult to even speak to someone. I called about 5 times before I was transferred twice to be told that there was only 3 and one had been sold. The location then said the tire will arrive on Sunday and the corporate office said Monday. This is rather unprofessional as I received a confirmation order as well as confirmed with someone over the phone on 8/1 that I would be doing the service Friday afternoon. read more

While a good 60 miles away from home, I discovered that the ply on my tires were separating, and that driving further would probably end in a blowout. I happened to be right down the street from this Mavis location when I realized what was happening, so I stopped in. I wasn't really expecting to be able to get anything done on such short notice, especially since I had to get to work. Though they didn't have my size tires in stock, we found a store nearby that had them, and had them delivered. And not just whatever random tire they had: they actually found the tires that I wanted. It was estimated was that the tires would be there by 3PM, but they managed to get them there before 2PM, and I was out of there by 3 and back on the road in time to get to work. Prices were entirely reasonable, and the work done was excellent. Total time from randomly stopping in, to picking out tires, having them delivered to the store, and installing them was three hours. While I was waiting, I had the chance to watch the staff interact with other customers. I know a little bit about cars, and not once did they talk down to anyone or try to sell a service that wasn't needed. They worked with everyone, and explained what they were doing and why.
