I have a Tesla and I'm so happy John and his team had the Tesla pucks to get my car on the lift. If I had gone to the Tesla dealership it would have been at least 10x the $31 I was charged for finding the screw embedded in my tire and patching it. Had rear brakes and rotors done on my Subaru. Was reassured they could handle the job. After continued noise after the brake work I returned it 2 weeks later and they then told me my rear caliper was broken. I called the dealership and told them what happened and was prepared to have it towed there.Mavis then stated they had broken the caliper and would repair free of charge getting the new parts from Subaru. Fast forward- they finished the repair. The car still felt weird when braking to me, so I went to the dealership who investigated and found both rear calipers were broken and they did not believe them to have been replaced. $2000 bill on top of what I paid Mavis. I've tried reaching out to the owner with no response. It seems grossly unfair that I should have had to pay for damages caused by them. It's discourteous for them to not have called me to discuss. And finally there's a safety and fraud issue at hand as well. I cannot recommend this establishment. read more

I had $3000 of work done in July which included four new tires, front axle, front struts and rear shocks, which they claimed were leaking. I replaced the rear shocks myself less than two years ago but I took their word for it, which didn't make any sense that they were leaking. Two months later Heard a noise in the front and took it in and they said my CV axle was broken which they had replaced in July. They claimed I hit something hard which I had not. Their part and /or work was defective. They still charged me $256 for the labor to replace it again. I will write a letter to headquarters to try to recover this money because this part should've been warranted. A brand new CV axle doesn't go bad in two months and 800 miles. read more

The worst! Took my car here to plug my tire. I have a kia EV6 I can literally look at the car at anytime. Keep that in mind. Didn't touch it day 1, that's fine I knew they were busy. Day 2: 8am they put car in lift,(looked at the car through app) 11am car is down. (saw through app) I call to ask status. Man says they filled the tire yesterday, no air has been lost since and they do not see a screw. First of all, I know they didn't look at the car yesterday, again I can look! A new set of tires was on the agenda for today. I have been researching a set of tires for my car for the last few months and can tell you the following. It seems as though sales come and go without any real "great deal" showing up. Every manufacturers prices ended up being around the same price for the tire size I was looking at. Also every dealer was about the same price. So I ended up at Mavis simply because they had the tires in stock today and could get me in. The service was good but I felt a bit of pressure on the up-sell. They were quick and it was easy to get in and out. They did a decent job but are not any better or worse than any other tire shop. I will say though that the waiting area was much nicer than most other repair/ tire shops. Not sure that counts for much but hey, you never know. read more

Yesterday I made a 10:30 AM appointment with Mavis Discount Tires on Greentree Road in Washington Township, to get 4 tires which were "in stock". They told me it would be 20 minutes before they could get my car in and then about 1-1/2 hours to do the job. OK. My car was still sitting in the parking lot at 11:15 AM. They didn't put the car in a bay for about an hour, and then it sat there with no one working on it until about 12:30 PM. They took the 4 tires off, 2 off the rims, and the counter guy says, with a chuckle, "I ordered the wrong size tires for your car, so I'm going to upgrade you for the same price." (originally quoted $800.27) I asked him at least 5 times what he was planning to put on my car. He was saying the name/model real fast and flipping his computer screen around, saying they were better and cost $194 a tire. I tried to google the tire, but wasn't having any luck, so I asked him, "Exactly WHAT are you putting on my car. I want to google it and read reviews." I finally got it out of him. The tires he was going to put on my car were $104 at WalMart and PepBoys and $114 at Mavis. I showed him my phone with the Mavis price up and asked is this what you're putting on my car? He said, "Yes, that's it!" I said it's $114 each and you want to charge me $800? (originally quoted tires were $179 each) He said, "It's $194 on the store's system. The price on the web is 'our cost'." Another counter guy came in and they tried to tag-team me. I told them, "That's a Cadillac (not that that is any big deal LOL). I'm not putting some s*** tires on my car!" Second guy said, oh, no, this is a BETTER tire than what you were getting, and tire prices don't mean one tire is better than another, and these are the same as the others with 50K mile warranty. I said the ones I wanted were 75K miles. Bottom line, I told them to put my tires back on the rims and back on my car, "We're all done." Mavis on Greentree lost 2 loyal customers, me and my husband, and I'm putting this bad review up. 2-1/2 hours wasted dealing with unscrupulous people, who tried a bait-and-switch. read more

I've been needing to add air to my tire for a couple weeks now. I made an appointment, arrived early and they took my car right in (on a Monday). They immediately found the issue and I couldn't be more relieved that my tire is finally fixed!!! It took them less than 20 minutes to figure out the issue was the valve and replace it all at a beautiful discount. First, I'd like to say they do good work. 2nd, what's the point in setting an appointment I'd you don't follow them. I dropped my crv off yesterday at 11:45 for a 12:00 appointment for two new tires. I said to the women behind the counter end of the day is fine. Well I called at 5 and car wasn't even looked at yet. They called at 545 and said car would be ready for pick up at 6:00. I said I would be up in the morning to pick up between 8-9. My dog and I walked up about 1.25 miles and got there and the car wasn't ready. Had to wait 30 minutes to for them to finish. Word to the wise when they ask when you want to pick up tell them the time. If you give them the end of the day you will be disappointed as I am. If you set an appointment it should be followed not let the customer down. Professionalism is key for success. read more

I called in this morning and let them know I needed to have 3 vehicles serviced and they told me it would take a while, I didn't expect them all to be back at home the same day anyway so I didn't mind . When I dropped off the 1st car the guy in the front was very attentive and throughout the day I brought all of the cars in and befor 5 pm they serviced all 3 and I was amazed. I don't even know where to start, except the beginning. I'm from TWP but I live in Philadelphia. My car was hit in January, then again in the exact same spot in July; luckily I hadn't had the work done yet as I was waiting for subrogation which concluded the day I walked outside to see my car smashed in, again, in the same place. It was in collision repair (at TMT, another amazing place) for the last month. I brought the car home Thursday evening and when I got in Friday morning there was a flat. I couldn't believe it. I immediately drove to the nearest mechanic only for them to tell me it needed to be replaced. I left it overnight Friday and picked it up Saturday with a new tire. My boyfriend met me at home Saturday night and his tire was also flat. We have a lot of construction on our block so we assumed we both picked up nails. I told him he could take my car this morning since the tire had been replaced, and I would take his to the mechanic. He called me about 30 minutes into his drive and told me that I had ANOTHER flat. I never had a problem with this car, since 2012, and all of this happening at the same time was overwhelming. (We have great lives and we're super privileged, but this was still inconvenient and frustrating.) My dad suggested I take the car to Mavis because he had a great experience recently when he needed a Sunday appointment. I called Mavis immediately and let them know that I would be bringing in one car with a flat, and my boyfriend would be coming an hour later to bring my car with its second flat of the weekend. David answered and assured me that they would take care of it and not to worry. I've already taken up so much space with this review so I'm going to speed this up by saying, all of my tears and worries, and frustrations, were immediately taken care of by John, David, and everyone at Mavis. I briefly told John about my month of car hell and his calm, professional and truly empathetic demeanor was immediately calming. I exhaled for the first time since Thursday. For the first time in four days I was able to park my car, walk into my house, and not walk back out to check the car 30 times. I recommend you give Mavis a chance; be a good person, understand that they're busy, and give them your full respect and confidence that they'll take care of your vehicle. Had an issue with a tire sensor that came up on my dash. Was in this area and stopped by to have it checked out. Turns out there were 4 people ahead of me but the young man that greeted me said he could check it out quickly. He did and the offending sensor was identified. Had somewhere to be so I made an appointment for today. I showed up early but the same man recognized me and took the car in immediately. The sensor was replaced and the tire rebalanced in about 20 minutes at a very reasonable price. Will definitely go back ! read more

I won't be returning to this location. I had 2 tires replaced on a Honda Civic and made an appointment for 12:00 PM. I was there at 11:55 AM and sat in the waiting room for an hour until they finally brought my car in at 1:00 PM. I made the appoint at 12 because I get an hour for lunch and an hour is more than enough time to replace two 15" tires. Well, after an hour they finally brought my car into the shop. Took them about 20 mins from there to get the job done. I complained about the timing during check out and all I received was "Sorry about the time." If you are going to schedule appointments then please keep them. I also realized that I should have checked the work order before signing - as when I left and finally looked at my receipt and there was the added charge for Road Hazard that I was never asked about. I will never be returning here and will never recommend this location to anyone. I have had tire service done at other STS locations (Cherry Hill, NJ) which was great but this one was an awful experience. read more

Took my wife's car in for a new set of tires. One of the wheel studs had apparently been stripped and rounded out. Received a call from someone(Joe) at the store asking permission to try and heat the bolt up to break it free. He said there was a possibility it could cause damage. After waiting a couple days I called to check the status and they told us it would be finished at the end of their day. Upon picking the car up I immediately noticed the burned rim and confront the tech about it. He said heating it didn't work and he had to melt the bolt head out. I said I was not accepting this damage he told me my wife gave him permission to use heat. I said heating it up and melting it out are two entirely different things. The rim now needs to be refinished or replaced the powder coating is destroyed. I later received a call from the regional manager (Rick) who informed me they he has been a master tech for 25 years and this is the only way to remove that stud. A quick google search on my part showed a half dozen or so other ways without destroying the rim(turns out it's quite common). He then told me he was not going to charge us the 2 hours they had spent trying to get the bolt out. Thanks Rick, you're the best. And he would gladly remount and balance on a new rim that we provide. Mavis is the place where you can spend a thousand dollars on tires and they'll throw in insult for free. If that doesn't say screw you I don't know what does. Definitely our last trip to Mavis and I would suggest looking elsewhere yourself when you need work done. We relocated from IL to Nj about 6 months ago. So disappointed and infuriated with this shop. Had previously had a good experience here and left a good review, and recommended them to a few people. We are due to have a baby AND close on a new house all next week, and getting myself new tires totally slipped our minds until last week. I called on Monday and spoke with someone named John who as it turns out was in a call center. John gave me a great quote for 4 new tires and an alignment, which was a better deal than another quote my husband had received elsewhere. And given my last positive experience it was a no brainer. I looked at our schedule and called them back, and despite John having given me his "direct extension" which was x5785 I wasnt able to get through to him again. I spoke with another nice man, who sounded like he was at the physical location because he had said he could see I was trying to call the call center but it was rerouting to him, so I assumed the actual shop location. He has NO TROUBLE seeing the estimate I was given, said the tires I was quoted for were in stock, and scheduled me for Thursday. Thankfully, Thursday has arrived and baby hasnt come yet, so I can get my tires done as planned. I show up a bit early, the gentleman at the desk says he sees no appointment and no estimate. I tell him what I was quoted, the type of tires and that I spoke with two seperate people the day I made the appt and the second person had no trouble seeing the estimate in my file. He calls the call center and they claim they also see no quote. He tells me those tires arent on site and he can get other tires in next week but wont be able to honor the quote I was given (which WAS a great deal, but still....honor the quote you provide people!). So given each day that passes is a higher chance the baby comes and I cant bring my car in, AND they wont honor the price I was quoted AND the sketchiness of the situation where someone had no trouble seeing my quote saved in my file before and suddenly cant see it now, I left. I wont be back. I wont recommend them anymore. Such a shame and disappointment. read more

Don't get a tire fixed there. They will say it can't be fixed and claim there's a hole on the side wall. It's a scam. They puncture the tire on the side. I requested to keep the tire to get another opinion. They refused and basically stole my tire. After calling them to find out why they would not put my tire in the trunk they very smugly said "come get it". This place needs to be shut down. Took my car in for tires and an oil change 2 days ago. I was told my suspension and brakes needed attention. The offers for a bunch of unnecessary work was over the top, but I liked using their service, so I declined nicely. However, I work late and take a highway... never had any engine problems. This evening, my engine light comes on and my car feels like it's about to seize. I don't know what they did or did not do correctly, but I have never had any problems outside of normal maintenance and replacing tires and brakes. I know that there were no engine problem prior to my visit. Will no longer use the credit card or the service. Didnt trust them that day but I thought I was just being paranoid due to lack of sleep the night before. Especially because every other visit was great. There were definitely people working that day than I had seen in the past. Sick right now. And worse! I'm afraid to even drive to the dealer... nope. Will not spend 1 more dollar there! And I ended up spending more than I needed to but I knew I was late getting back so I went on and changed the tires and oil anyway. My car is not the only thing heated right now. read more

Massively overcharge for parts as per my NEW mechanic who I showed all of my bills to. When Mavis was STS, they were friendly and even though more on the expensive side, the work done was perfect. I've had my car there multiple times after the change to Mavis, and they never fixed the problem, but sure did find a bunch of other "problems". After spending over $4000 in the past year I finally had enough when a simple fix that was needed might be escalated by another $800 "if the catalytic converter breaks while fixing the transaxle mount because it is rusted". Do not bring your car here!!! I brought my car to the center for a new power steering pump, and some how my axles broke while in their possession. They charged me a ton of money to fix the axles and the pump, and when I left the service center my car broke down on the nj turnpike 30 minutes later because the axle was not put in correctly. The axle basically fell out of the part of the car it goes into. To top it all off they did not refund me for their services even after speaking to the district manager!! Awful place will never go back and I am from the immediate area. Aside being grossly overpriced they wrecked my car by performing a flush they should not have performed. My car died just three miles down the road that evening. Had to get towed at my expense then they said distributer bad will be another 500$. I just left there paying 500$. Towed it to Pep Boys and they said nothing wrong with distributer was something unrelated and caused by Mavis. I asked Mavis for copy of diagnostic report that was $117 alone and they would not render only arguing with me at the front counter. Clearly states on the bill if not 100% satisfied please call this number. I called the number and fought with three different people on three different occasions each getting off on pushing my buttons. Told corporate customer service that Mavis customer service as a whole is non-existent and they should remove the "if you're not 100% satisfied please call". All they do is lie, deny and perform false repairs. Then they get mad if you leave a bad review. It's a well known fact that on average one unhappy customer will tell at least ten others about their bad experience. I already told about five and wife about ten. All in our favor and agreed with us. It's extremely obvious Mavis employees lack the knowledge, professionalism and customer service skills needed to survive as a business within the modern world. I'm sure the founder wouldn't allow this but then again arguments never go beyond the regional customer service level. I wouldn't be surprised a year from now that this store is closed. My car could go flat inside their parking lot and I would rather push it to another non-affiliated facility than go back inside there. read more
