I had an appointment scheduled for noon for 4 new tires. I confirmed the appointment by phone the day prior, along with the price of the tires I scheduled. I arrived around 11:40am for my appointment and was asked if I would be waiting or dropping off. I informed them I would be waiting since it shouldn't take all day, or so I thought. I waited about 2 hours with my toddler before they even brought the car back to the garage. At this point, it is 2pm. While it was still sitting in the parking lot, I heard the lady at the front desk say that many people had called out today and that they were behind. If I'd known that, I would have arranged for someone to pick us up so I wouldn't have had to wait all day by myself with her. If they had only had 3 people working, they could have given me a call to ask if I wanted to reschedule or to inform me that it would take much longer than usual. Once my car was in the garage, it then sat for another hour before anyone touched it, bringing me to 3pm. From 3pm to 4pm, they spent the whole time getting the 4 tires on, and I still had to wait for an alignment. While waiting, my toddler had a terrible bloody nose that wouldn't stop bleeding. I thought maybe they would move a little faster, so I could get out of there and change her bloody clothes and feed her (I know it is not their fault or responsibility for her bloody nose, it was just another inconvenience). Around 4pm, I was told that all that was left was the alignment, that I should be out of there soon, and that I could pay now. I saw the total and asked to see the invoice, and I also have the military discount applied. The assistant manager said he would need to redo that and would go over it with me. He then decided to do an interview, even though he could have helped customers at the front, where he was supposed to be, or helped get cars done faster. Around 5:30pm, I saw my car sitting in the parking lot, so I asked if I could pay. I was told the total and I could see the military discount wasn't applied, and I didn't see what I was charged for. The discount was applied, but it still seemed a little expensive since I confirmed the quote the day before and at noon when I came in. I needed to leave because my daughter needed to eat, and she was there for 5 1/2 hours. I was told to wait for the keys after I paid. I had to inform the assistant manager that the keys were behind him, and it was done. I also noticed multiple people have their cars done before mine, and some didn't have an appointment. On the phone, they would tell customers to come later in the day, knowing they were backed up. Once I got home, I was looking over my receipt and noticed I was charged for the wrong tires, more expensive ones. I went back and looked at my confirmation email to make sure I scheduled the right ones, which I did. When the price was confirmed twice, it was for the tires I selected, which were $119. I was charged $155.99 for each tire. The time frames are a rough estimate, but I did get there for my appointment before noon and didn't leave until 5:30pm. This is my first time coming to this location, but my family has been here before and waited for a while. I will not be going back. read more

Currently waiting on my car after having an appointment at 9am, it's now 11:30am. They just pulled in my car around 10:30 ish, but that's only when i noticed it wasn't in the parking lot. I did show a few minutes after 9am so i understand if that was an inconvenience. the point is i had an appointment for a routine service and will probably still be sitting here for another 30 minutes. they stated they are short staffed, but only after another customer asked who got here before i did this morning. one of the techs then let us know another tech walked out as soon as the doors opened so they've been behind. i'm not usually disappointed with this location. as i typically frequent here but i don't believe i'll be coming back :( read more

I was recommended by my cousin to come here to get my car inspection done and im glad I did. Scheduled online for a 2pm appointment and right when I got there, Kevin took care of me at the front desk. They took my car to get it inspected and within 20-25 minutes...I was all done. The staff were super friendly and attentive and they work really quick. They provided great service and I will definitely be back next month for my other car. absolute morons... went in to get 3 tires mounted and 4 balanced. that's a 30 minute job easy. they proceeded to take 2 and a half hours. they also tried to scam me (Ive been working on cars my whole life) by trying to tell me my car won't start at all. I come out and this guy thinks I'm an idiot, he's cranking it in reverse... I can literally see the car rolling backwards moron. I played dumb then got in the car and started it right up and laughed in his face. while I was there i witnessed then one by one pull everyone that was in that waiting room to go tell them they had some sort of unexpected issue with their car that they needed to fix asap. Not to mention immediately after leaving their shop I started having abs issues with a sensor located right where they were working. Looks as if someone took a hammer to the sensor... these guys are lazy, con artists who putz around like you have nowhere to be. horrible experience. read more

Went here to get new tires. My car takes special tiny tires that are hard to find and they had them in stock! They were able to get me in quickly to change the tires. The staff was friendly and informative. The waiting room is a typical plain area with seats. Wait time was quick. read more

Eric then informed me what parts needed to be replaced. All of them were in stock. The estimate he initially gave me was what I paid. The repairs were completed in a reasonable time while I waited. All in all this location was pretty awesome, I walked in with no appt needing a battery they quickly gave me a price and scheduled me back within in an hour. Everything was great start to finish A+++ customer service. Eric was especially nice he practically walked my mom to car and put her in it( she had trouble walking) when we were finished. After 1 week of waiting for a call back for Tires I ordered.. No one at Mavis.. could have the common courtesy to call me. So I desided to call them. To not just be put on hold, not once, not three times but four. After 35 min I hung up. You try to do business with a company that you think you can count on.. But then u sit back and say to yourself well mabe this company don't care about u.. And mabe it's better to find somewhere esle that could give u 10 min of there time. To appreciate what you need. Got a big nail/bolt in a tire on Saturday night. Popped on a donut to be safe but wanted to have std wheel on asap as driving hard. Guess what - not many places open Sunday Mavis open Sunday am. Set 9am appointment at night. Showed in am, doors open ontime. Quick check - repair not possible due to puncture outside center thread. New tire installed. All clean and professional. On September 16th in the middle of the night, my sister's car was towed to Mavis with both driver side tires blown out. We headed over to Mavis and were greeted by Eric, the manager. He was very friendly and assured us the car would be ready as soon as they got the new tires on it. Within the hour, we were done. The staff there did a great job! Came here to get my tires rotated and found out I had a million other things falling apart. I do like that the customer service was excellent here, the guys took the time to explain everything to my husband and I and ran numbers with us about cost. I was very honest that we were in no place to pay for such costly repairs and they even offered to cut us some discounts. Although the price is a bit higher than other places nearby, I appreciate that they weren't pushy and gave us suggestions on what to do. As for our initial reason here, it was my tire rotation that was a mere $12! Overall, good experience and if you know nothing about cars, they will help you out. read more

I made an appointment to have tags replaced, no actual inspection, they tell me on the phone when I made the appointment It would take a max of 20 minutes. I show up for my appointment and they changed 20 minutes to 2 hours, just for stickers. They are horrible and cannot handle simple tasks. DO NOT have high expectation for this place! read more

I really wished I could give them a ZERO!!!! I went from just getting an inspection to being called to pay $688. I asked Stephen what was the $688 for he explained that I needed to get all this work done. I called around to other shops to prices which was less that half to get the work done. I loved going to Mavis, but I will not spend my money here again....total rip off!!!!!! read more

This place was great when it was STS. Since Mavis assumed ownership it has gone downhill. I would not recommend getting any real auto work done here. I used STS to service 3 cars for over 10 years, and Ed was fantastic and honest. I had two cars serviced. The first was an 08 Chrysler I dropped off with instructions for an A/C issue. There A/C recharge machine was broke, and they knew it, and they let my vehicle sit all day until I called them at 5 pm and they said they would not be able to get to it because the A/C machine and their A/C guy was not in. They could have called me in the morning with that. Second, I dropped off my wife's 06 Xterra with a front end rattle and steering vibration. They said the rattle was from bad shocks and struts, which honestly I should have known better. To be fair, the car is old and the shocks and struts were going to need replacement soon, but that was not the cause of the rattle noise. So I pay about $700 for the service, and notice that they also charged me for an unrequested power steering fluid flush, and new wipers (which I just changed two weeks prior). They took those items off the bill when I said something, but ONLY because I said something. I drive home and still hear the rattle. I decided I am through with these guys and take it to another repair shop. They diagnosed the rattle as a loose heat shield within 15 minutes (a $58 job), and also noticed that the left rear shock had a washer missing, which could have caused the shock to actually dislocate if it had a real impact. Also, the new front strut assembly is squeaking. I took it back to Mavis and they are working on the car now (which means another day without my car). Oh, did I mention the first job with the struts took 2 days to complete. They have lost my trust, and therefore my business. read more

I walked in one hour to closing time, on a Saturday! I asked for help in checking my tires for a possible air leak, as my tire pressure light came on from the night before and I filled my tires earlier that morning with air with the air pump at Wawa. The light went out but came back on in the afternoon. So I walked in and asked if they can see if they can find an air leak. They graciously helped me and took my car in right away to check. They didn't find a leak, and explained that the sudden spike of cold weather could have caused the pressure to go all wonky. They filled my tires with air again and sent me on my way. I'm grateful for their help and courtesy. I'll definitely be coming back next time I need car help. read more

If you enjoy waiting and flaky customer service, by all means visit this STS location. I normally take my car to the dealership for service as I have had nothing but exceptional service every single time I'm there. Today I decided to try out the STS by my office (turns out they also offer a discount for my company) and that proved to be an awful mistake. All that I needed for my vehicle was a simple oil change and tire rotation. Generally when I visit my dealership, I get it within an hour or two depending on how busy they are. It took this shop nearly 6 to 7 hours to do this very same act. I mean come on, it's rotating tires and changing oil. This isn't extensive body work and the place didn't seem all that busy. You figure in a place that specializes in these sorts of things would find this to be a snap, but maybe I just expect too much from humanity. Long after the time I was told my car would be returned (mind you there was no one in the place when I arrived at 9:30AM and maybe one or two cars in the actual garage) I decided to call. After being kept on hold for 15 minutes, the man had no answer as to what was the status of my vehicle. He said it was in the shop and had no idea what was going on. Fair enough, he's handling the customers and probably has no idea what the mechanics are doing. He told me he'd find out and call me back - which never happened. Despite my "discount" I still paid slightly more than what my dealership charged while waiting 3 times what it takes my usual place to do a simple job. I will never visit this location or corporation as long as I live. read more

So that tire that they said they couldn't find anything wrong with... went completely flat twice after they inspected it. I also looked at the tire and even though there wasn't anything currently in it, I could see what looked like a puncture in the tire's tread. Maybe the hole was small- but I definitely needed a new tire. I went somewhere closer (Quality Discount Tire on Holme and Willits) to get 4 new tires and got a better price than Mavis quoted me for. While I'm still hoping they weren't trying to take advantage of me because they couldn't find anything wrong when I took it in, I also hope they weren't just being lazy because the initial inspection for the flat was an hour before closing on a Saturday. read more

On Father's day evening around 8:30 PM my car just died right in front of this shop. I was traveling with my 2 young children and I was scared to be sitting in traffic with a dead car. The shop manager, Ed, happened to be working late that evening. He tapped on my window introduced himself, and proceded to push my car into the lot. It was late on a sunday evening he could have ignored the situation but instead gave me a helping hand. I never would have thought to take my car here for repair but since the manager was so helpful I thought I would give it a try. STS was able to diagnose the problem that my usual shop had not properly addressed. My car is running great now and I have a new shop for future repairs. I can't say enough kind words about the manager, Ed. He is caring and personable and is a great attribute to this shop. Again, thank you Ed for helping me when I was stranded. read more

I was desparate to replace a flat tire on Saturday morning. Mavis in Trevose was my 4th service garage. The staff were amazing. Rich was incredibly kind. Somehow on a busy Saturday, they listened to my story and my need (to get to my grandkids) and got me back on the road as soon as possible. I drive a Suburu, so the front tire had to be a close match to the other one for safe front-wheel drive. My third stop had been the Subara garage in Feasterville and the service manager there was so rigid, cold, unhelpful, I couldn't believe it. Recommend them entirely!!! While away with my family, I got a flat tire. Luckily it was entering the hotel. The next morning I called STS and spoke with 'Terell' who said they do not do emergency road side repair (-1). However, he reassured me he would see me as soon as I got there and within 40 minutes my tire was changed and my family and I were on our way. Terell and his mechanics were amazing the entire time.
