Originally I went in for service on my tires for a slow leak & had a NYS inspection. Daryl at the front desk made it easy to drop off & pick up, no issues. More recently I had a slow leak in a different vehicle tire, we had purchased the tires and had them installed at the BJ's down the street because were "members", I tried to take the tire to them for maintenance & was unable to make an appointment. Although, I think the services would have been less expensive at BJ's I value my time more than sitting on hold for 25 minutes & never speaking with a single sole... Daryl & anyone that I've spoken with at this shop are very nice & don't request to do un-needed repairs and I trust them. read more

So I had an emergency, got a flat tire. The tire was practically brand new. Two different Mavis places (Lockport and Wmsvlle) failed to repair the tire correctly. The third (Delaware Ave) replaced the tire, but failed to inform me that having 3 of one kind and 1 of another would cause my car's sensors to go crazy. In fact, when I went back to them with a malfunctioning ABS sensor they were ready to replace it for several hundred dollars. Well, I stopped at AutoZone and they said 3 out of 4 of my wheel speed sensors were the issue. So... AutoZone just saved me from wasting my money at Mavis. Now I'll be replacing two tires, because what Mavis should have said, IF THEY GAVE A DAMN, is that I should have two of the SAME TIRES on the SAME AXLE. But they didn't, because then they would have had to provide two tires for free, since they destroyed one. I'm done with them. read more

Beware, yes Mavis is ok if your getting tires...but beware if you go in there for a tire rotation ,thats free when you purchase tires, which my visit had been. They will try to "Tell you things, are wrong with your vehicle, just to make money, and then say, " Oh thats your original battery, excuse me i came in for a tire rotation, not for a battery issue. Never had an issue with other Mavis location, or employees " trying," to say things are wrong, that arent with a 2020 vehicle. Called dealer where my car was purchased, and inspected a month ago. Spoke with individual in sales, who viewed my history, sorry Mavis, brakes and other issues to make money werent noted there, and my car past inspection. Avoid this location, if there truely is a problem, im sure they can assist, but i would strongly recommend a second opinion, or go somewhere else. read more

Showed up a couple of minutes early. Employee - "What you here for ?" My Nephew just had 4 new tires put on his GMC Truck. Prior to having them put on - his wheel alignment was good, as it was recently checked by another good mechanic. He was "strongly advised" from the Manager that he should "Definitely" get a wheel alignment after the new tires were installed. I have done qite a bit of reseach - and - you do not have to have a new wheel alignment after installing new tires, unless you were having issues. So, he had everything done and upon leaving the store - my nephew noticed the steering wheel was pulling to the left, making it very uncomfortable to drive. So, he called them and they told him they would "Check the Everything** and do ANOTHER ALIGNMENT" to Be Sure*** Everything was fine. Well, he went back and they DID NOTHING! My newphew watched someone drive his vehicle away and 40 minutes later return. He was then told - Everyhting is** "taken care of". My nephew said , he saw them drive away and not return for the 40 minutes - So, they never even put it back up on the lift**. He tried to take them at their word - that they FIXED The problem; but he drove away, and the steering wheel - was JUST LIKE IT WAS pulling to the Left. So, he went back again and spoke to the Manger - and he told my nephew - that they "Did the first alignment and according to "Their Specs: - it was Fine. So - Now, my nephew has to go to a REPUTABLE DEALRSHIP - and have ANOTHER ALIGNMENT DONE! VERY POOR CSTOMER SERVICE and Would NOT TRUST THEM - To Do What They are being Paid to Do***. read more

I made back-to-back appointments for two consecutive days to bring in my two cars to the Mavis outlet on Sheridan in Amherst to change over to winter tires (a 45 minute - 1 hour job). I get there for the first appointment and there was an issue with my appointment where the appointment wasn't in their system. They took me in, but it took almost 2 hours to get the job done. While waiting, another customer brought their car in for defective valves that Mavis had installed in her tires, and someone else thought she had an appointment and was turned away. Before I left, I confirmed with the attendant that my appointment for the next day was on their schedule (he said that I was). However, when I brought my car in the next day, they again said that I wasn't on their schedule and that it would take 2-3 hours. This is a mickey-mouse operation and a waste of valuable time. Went here to get a flat fixed, and while it was repaired, beware of this place and avoid. The manager, appearing to be your"friend," said my back brake pads had "disintegrated-" I thought this was odd since my mechanic installed new brakes just recently, so I declined his insincere offer of nearly $500 for brakes and brought my car to my mechanic. He said the brakes were fine and took me for a test drive to prove his point. BTW, no charge for this. And Mavis? Two days later, I went to search for my phone charger and it was gone! I thought I mentioned that they also stripped my lug nuts on the one tire, (saying good luck getting that tire off) because I declined any other service from them and told them to take it down off the lift, after they refused to adjust the tire alignment. They also mentioned I needed new brake pads for the front also, which I took care of a few days later, only to find the stripped lug nuts. Now I find my tires that were rated somewhere between 40-50k miles didn't even last probably 25k miles. read more

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Welp, after just a few weeks, and not really driving much at all, since I WFH these days, our Mavis repairs are already falling short. :-( Per my previous review, we had an incident where our rear-driver shock seemed to be damaged. This was my guess, with help from Googling, but I am no mechanic. We called Mavis, I explained the incident and the sound, and said I think it is the shock, but will of course need them to check it out. We brought it in, and they said shock. We even agreed to have both the rear shocks done, since they were both very old and to keep the work balanced. When I picked up my car after the work was done (shocks and shock mounts on both sides), still rattling! It seemed to be rattling less, but still rattling. I called the next day and brought the car back. After a few hours, we picked up, I drove off, and still rattling! Now I wasn't sure if perhaps it was something else causing the rattle, but after a few weeks of not much driving, the rattling is back to being more of a clunking coming from the same rear driver-side area. I'm still convinced it is the shock, but if it is not, then why in the heck did Mavis replace my shocks, and not fix the ACTUAL ISSUE?? Or, even worse, did they just not actually replace my shocks, and just do a shoddy repair job?? So the hassle is on my shoulders yet again, after paying all that money, to bring the car back to Mavis. I really hope they fix this issue this time around, considering we paid for it!! I will updated after we're back in. Until then, yet again, another untrustworthy, unreliable experience with a mechanic. I've yet to find a reputable, fair mechanic--do they even exist anymore?? :-( read more

This person acted like someone who loathes his job and didn't want to be there. Had an amazing experience here! I recently went to another repair shop when my car was making strange noises. They told me that I needed to drums and shoes and that it would cost me $400. Before going forward I called around to see if anyone could do it for less and Mavis gave me a good phone estimate. I came in so they could look at the car and after having a mechanic check it out they told me nothing was wrong! They said that my drums and shoes were still in fine shape and that the other place was trying to get me to repair something way too soon. They saved me $400. I will definitely be coming back here. The assistant manager is the one I spoke with and he was very kind. The staff here is extremely honest and trustworthy, and I'll no longer be going to the other shop. read more

I have never had an experience quite like this one let me tell you! I went in for new brakes and kind of the 'works' if you will, paid almost 2 grand and drove off just to find out they installed the brakes wrong. Took it back and they fixed it but this time the tire light came on the dash. I took it back again and expressed my frustration since I have them a big chunk of cash and they fixed it again but this time broke my center console. I took it back AGAIN and they said they couldn't fix it and I had to go to a dealer. I made an appointment, did everything As usual just to find out I have to go back AGAIN because they won't pay for the service directly to the dealership. I have to go back to get reimbursed. This message is to notify you to the deplorable customer service I received today at your Williamsville, NY location. The address of the location is 7050 Transit Rd. The reason for my visit was because my back passenger tire was losing pressure and I was unsure whether it was low on air or had a slow leak. Upon arrival, I was met by a handwritten note, stated they were only accepting drop offs. As an establishment, why is it professional to have written notes to communicate with costumers. Once inside, I communicated with the employee my concern, I will say we were both wearing PEE and practicing social distance. He states I can look at your car, but you have to leave it. I inform the employee the vehicle was the only one in my household and I would have to take an Uber to work and come back - if just needed air that would be a waste. He said verbatim - you need to figure that out. Then he proceeds to tell me, there's a free air pump out. I explained I was unsure how to use the device, which he proceeded to give me basic directions. Needless to say it was raining outside. While I get we are in an uncertain state with COVID-19 and we are all being very cautious about exposure - his behavior was unacceptable. I will never recommend this establishment for any type of service. After reading a number of reviews from the BBB, many customers share my sentiments. read more

Went there for an inspection on my car. I had literally only driven it 227 miles since it was last inspected. Nothing at all has changed on the vehicle, as it sat for most of the year in the heated garage. While waiting for my inspection, there was a man waiting for his 2021 SUV to be completed. They told him his car failed and needed a horn relay. So he had to wait for the relay to be delivered and in stalled to pass. Not sure what they charged for that but he was clearly agitated because he said his horn worked. Then a guy who dropped off his car for inspection while I was there. Was told on the phone that his care wouldn't pass because he needed brakes pads and rotors. Judging from the conversation the mechanic had with him, he didn't believe him but eventually gave the go ahead. When it came to mine, the mechanic came out to tell me that my belt tensioner was bad. So I went out into the garage and had him show me where it was bad. I know my way around cars very well. From swapping out motors and transmissions to all of the small stuff. I had to convince him that he was lying without calling him a liar. This location used to be great and honest. But now it's like the rest of the locations. I had shopped around a little bit so when I finally walked in I had an idea of what I wanted to pay and the type of tire I wanted. The gentleman I spoke with was very informative and did not try to dissuade me from any specific tire, just gave me the information I wanted and let me decide. In July of 2022, I went to Mavis to get my tires checked out. At that time I was told I had to replace all 4 tires due to the fact that the front tires were a different size than the back tires. They said if I didn't replace all 4 tires that there was a possibility it could effect my transmission & 4-matic. I went ahead and replaced the 4 tires. In June 2023, I brought my car in for an Inspection at a local mechanic but they could not pass the car for inspection because there were 2 bubbles in the front right tire. Shortly after, I called Mavis who told me that my tires are not covered under their warranty/road hazard. I was quite upset to hear this & called the tire manufacturer to dig a bit deeper. The tire manufacturer informed that my tires were covered under warranty, but I would have to go back to Mavis as they were the ones that would have to file the claim. Of course, I went back to Mavis & Jason insisted that it was not covered under the warranty but would speak to upper-management & get back to me in a few days. After a week of not hearing anything I gave them a call & Jason stated that he had yet to hear anything but would reach out again. He ended up calling me back & told me someone from Upper-Management would be giving me a call. They did reach out & said that the manufacturer did not know what they were talking about & the tires weren't covered. As a courtesy, they offered me a singular tire at a 40% discount. I then asked "Why are we now allowed to replace 1 tire when last visit all 4 tires needed to be replaced". The response was quite useless. I then called the manufacturer back & explained what Mavis told me. I then conferenced Mavis in & Jason refused to speak with us & hung up. At that point I was very frustrated & called Mavis Corporate HQ. I explained the situation & was told someone would get back to me. Due to this debacle: I had to drive my car uninspected with 2 bubbles in the front tire (not safe!!). I ended up going to another tire dealership for a 2nd opinion & I was shell shocked when I was told that the bubbles were the least of my problems. Why you might ask? I was told the tires Mavis put on in July of 2022 don't even belong on my car! I couldn't believe it. "What do you mean" I said. The man said if you just look on the inside of the door it tells you exactly what tires are needed for your vehicle. At that point, I thought they were just trying to make a sale so I left. I then went to a 3rd dealership who was able to tell I had the wrong tires without even looking at the specifics inside my door. I was certain at that point that these were indeed the wrong tires for my car. For my safety & car inspection, I went ahead & replaced all 4 tires for $1350. At this time, I was just waiting for the tires to be delivered. During that time, I received a call back from Corey with Mavis & explained how they installed the wrong tires in the first place. Corey asked if I could get that in writing from the other dealership. I said I'd try even though they should've seen that inside the door when they installed the tires. In the end, you can be sure that if you want tires from Mavis that they'll sell you anything even if if they don't work for your vehicle. I suppose it all makes sense now as they sell tires at a discounted rate. You get what you pay for (Wrong Tires)! In the end, Mavis put my car, & most importantly my safety at Risk. I had an appointment I made on line on 9/26/2021 for 9/30/2021 at 5:00 PM .When I arrived they could not find my reservation in the computer. I pulled up the confirmation on my phone, showed it to them and they said there was no appointment showing. They said I could wait but it would be 2 hours plus another hour to do the inspection. This is really bad service. Very disappointed. I had gone to this business before for brakes, tires and inspections and did not have a problem. Now this... I had a leaking tire I purchased from a Mavis branch 2 months ago and made a call to have this checked out at the Mavis shop on Transit Road. The call center told me to bring it in right at opening. There were no customers lined up so I thought this would be a breeze. Over an hour later it's brought in and then the shop proceeds to check the wrong tire. How these guys function without very close supervision is beyond me. So in conclusion maybe it's just me, but over an hour to have one tire checked and repaired seems very very non-productive and extremely poor customer service.
