Up to now, I have been very pleased with Dunn Tire. I normally take my cars to Dunn regarding tires, no issues, this time for a NYS inspection, which I've never done (no pun) Front brakes, rotors shot. No problem, inspection not due until July. I repaired my brakes for $130, Dunn wanted just south of $800 (Wow!) A long list of things they suggest be changed, like a new engine air filter, etc. A long list of upsells basically that were responded to with 'no' Took my car back after doing the brakes today and it took over an hour for the 'reinspection'. After 40 minutes my car had not even been pulled in yet. Once in it took almost another hour to complete. Their shop was not very busy, so I was surprised it took so long as the reinspection is on them, not me, so a money loser I would think. All that and at least for an inspections, I am done with Dunn. Fortunately, I don't need tire service anytime soon. read more

This is my go to place for State Inspections, oil changes and tires for both of our cars. I have never had a problem getting convenient appointment dates. They have a reasonably comfortable waiting area with fresh coffee available and they have good wifi. One of the things I like about buying tires there is that they do free tire rotations for the life of the tires. I commend them for not trying to upsell me when I have service done. They do however give me the information I need to make an educated decision. read more

Over the past three years, I've been going to this place. Originally, I went knowing they were more pricey, but the customer service was great and I was usually in and out in 20 minutes. They treated me respectfully, so I felt that was worth paying a bit more for. I have used them for storing, changing, patching and buying new tires. In the past year or a little more things have sadly changed for the worse. They're quoting it'll take up to TWO HOURS to change my summer tires to my winter tires when I have an appointment most recently. I had to change my appointment from Wednesday to today because they quoted me two hours then, as well, despite the fact I arrived an hour early for my scheduled appointment - meaning I would have needed to wait up to three hours or more if I kept that appointment. When I got there today, they said they were running behind, but then changed their story literally two seconds later in front of my face that it was because I was 10 minutes late that it would take so long. Unfortunately, I know that's a lie because of my previous time quote earlier in the week and also because they literally changed their story right in front of me. I must seem very stupid. Anyway, the customer service has obviously gone downhill, if this interaction can serve as any example. It's still more costly than other places and consistently takes forever to do even simple tasks like patching a tire or changing tires, which they shamelessly take four hours or more to do with no reasonable explanation as to why. It's always the blame shifting as demonstrated above or "we'll get to it soon" only to not hear from them for several more hours. Please go elsewhere. Let my story spare you from paying more to be treated less respectfully than a hot turd on the sidewalk. The entitled, dismissive, and just plain unacceptable behavior demonstrated in the above story is the norm now for all my recent interactions with their staff. I was towed to Dunn Tire after having a flat tire after a winter storm. From the moment, I walked through the door to the time that I left, they gave me a run down on things that me car needed done from the tires to the rotation and even balanced me car. I tried to love Dunn. Even when they were a solid three stars for me, I kept going back. Not every experience has been terrible, but none have been spectacular and I just cannot bring myself to recommend them to my friends or family. Most recently, my 84-year-old mom had a tire blowout. She purchased four new tires from Dunn in June or July 2020. Without asking, they filled them with nitrogen. Because we have an air compressor, Mom wanted air-filled tires, but they never asked my mom and she never suspected they'd fill them with anything other than air. They also did not use the green valve stems, which my mom didn't know "was a thing," so who knows what's actually in them. Maybe she was charged for nitrogen and got air. With Covid, my mom didn't go many places in 2020 (or this year, for that matter). And as I stated earlier, SHE'S 84 YEARS OLD. She goes to the senior center, which is about two miles from her apartment; to the grocery store, which is another mile or two from the senior center; and my place, which might be a mile further. The tread on her tires looks like they've never been used. Mom probably had a flat tire and didn't notice it. She drove from her apartment to the corner, and the tire blew out. Fortunately, she was close to Main Street and was able to pull into her garage of choice to have the spare put on. Mom called Dunn to ask them about a warranty, and they tried to sell her four new tires. She told them she only needed one tire, and they told her that the Dunlops on her car were an older model and they didn't make them anymore, then again tried to sell her four new tires. We ended up calling Firestone, and they are going to find her one comparable tire and mount it for her Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dunn is still "searching for something suitable." I doubt they'll ever call back. Just so you know this isn't the only bad experience, I stopped in once to ask for my tires to be rotated and balanced, and for an inspection. My inspection wasn't due for another month, but I knew my upcoming month was going to be extremely busy. They told me, "Your tires look fine the way they are, and you're not due until next month. We don't recommend either service," so I took my car and my money elsewhere. read more

A simple car inspection gone wrong these guys are slow, unprofessional, overpriced and will recommend unneeded repairs. This place just feels bad and sketchy they don't communicate with you and what should have taken an hour max I was there for over 2 hours before they tell me I need new brakes and my pressure sensors are bad. Both wrong. I go elsewhere the following week and pass easy. Very sketchy place and the reviews on google and here they clearly put up themselves. This place just provides awful service, will never come back and make sure you save yourself a trip, go elsewhere all the big names are just to lure people in. read more

Just had a great experience at Dunn Tire, transit and Main. I noticed my front left tire's pressure was off, after I filled it the air leaked out in Just half an hour. I searched on Yelp and called a place but they do not repair tires. The guy was super helpful and recommended Dunn Tire. I called Dunn Tire, they didn't have an appointment but said I could go and they would fit me in between appointments. I arrived, explained my situation, a guy took a look, replaced the air plug and it was fixed! They didn't charged me. All it took was 10 minutes. Thank you, thank you. read more

Today I stopped in to store because my tire pressure display showed low tire pressure in one of my tires. I parked in front of the service door as I have done several times over the years and asked a front desk person to have someone check my tires. A young man appeared right away and checked the tire pressure chart on the inside of my vehicle door. Then he proceeded to inflate each tire to 33psi (or so I thought). As I watched the display in my vehicle, I could see he was inflating each tire to 46 psi! I brought this to his attention and he told me that the tire sensors would soon recalibrate. I said OK and drove around the parking lot but my car display did not change. So I drove back and went inside the store and told the man at the front desk what I saw on my car's display. He told me to drive at least 10 miles and the tire sensors will reset to show the correct pressure. I did as he asked but each tire still showed 46 psi. I went home, checked each tire with my own gauge and confirmed the pressure to be 46 psi. Using my manual gauge as well as the display in my car, I set the tire pressures to be closer to 38 psi. This is totally unacceptable so I will not be returning to Dunn Tire for service! read more

Warranty means nothing. Took my car there for rotations every 5000 miles and somehow it still didn't qualify. added that an appointment there is just a hair better than walking in without one if they manage to remember you had one. read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. TL;DR terrible customer service and complete ineptitude by all employees I made an appointment to have my tires changed over to my snow tires in November. Two days before my appointment I got a flat tire and put on my donut to get me through until my appointment. I called the day of my appointment and asked if I needed to make a separate appointment for them to look at the tire. I was told that I did not have an appointment. After a lot of back and forth with some nasty responses from the person at Dunn Tire, I was transferred to a manager. The manager immediately saw my appointment in the calendar and wasn't sure why the other employee couldn't see it. At this point, I was annoyed, but fine. Mistakes happen. I arrive at my appointment and they take my car saying they'd call when the tires were changed over, but also that my one year old tire would need to be replaced in the spring. Fine. About an hour later I get a call saying that my car was ready. I head over and pay for my tire changeover. I drive away and notice my tire pressure light was still on. I figured I'd need to drive a bit for it to recalibrate and turn off. I get home and go to put my regular tires away and notice that they never changed my tires over. At this point, Dunn Tire is about 10 minutes from closing for the day. I call and let them know that I have now paid for a tire changeover and they have not changed my tires. They told me too bad and I would have to wait for the next day since they were closing soon. Mind you, I have already paid for the service and I have my donut on AND it was a week day and would now have to take a day off of work. I pushed back and they did agree to change the tires over that night. I arrive back at Dunn Tire and they take my car to change the tires over. At this point I spoke with the manager, Nate B. He refunded me for the price of the tire change over and he did put in the file that they would cover my new tire as well. He also made sure to let me know that I should have scheduled my appointment for a month earlier. Not sure how this all equates to it being my fault when they were the ones that told me their availability of appointments, but sure Nate B. They let me know that my tires were changed over and that the tires were in the trunk. At this point I had no trust with them left, so I decided to check that all the tires were actually in the car. The guy that changed the tires opened my trunk to show me that "both tires are in there!" Now. My car has four tires....as do most.... When you have ONE flat tire that needs to be tossed, you should have THREE tires left over. The guy that changed the tires was very confused as to why I would have three tires instead of two. He went back inside to check with Nate B. At this point, the two of them are searching around the garage, around the store front, and the outside of the garage for the missing third tire. I finally see them walk through the garage into the dumpster area and Nate B comes out with a tire saying, "don't worry! I found your tire!" I asked him how he knew that that specific dumpster tire was my tire and he assured me that he could tell it was my tire...not sure how, but sure. After everything else that day with them, I was done. Fast forward to the spring. It's time to do my tire changeover to get my snow tires off. I make my appointment to get my tires changed over and let them know that they need to order a new tire per Nate B in the fall. When I spoke with the guy to set up the appointment I asked if he needed to know anything for the tire to order it and he said nope and to just bring everything to the appointment. I arrive at my appointment (a Thursday) and the guy lets me know that I needed to tell them what kind of tire I needed when I made the appointment. Exactly what I thought when I made the appointment, but sure. My fault again. We order the tire and the guy next to us let the guy helping me know that he should delay the appointment a few days to ensure that the tire is in. We make the appointment for the following Tuesday. On Monday, I call Dunn Tire to see if the tire has arrived and to confirm that it will be there for my appointment the next day. They said, "the tire is on the truck in transit and will be delivered tomorrow." (Continued) read more

They also higher people with little to no experience which means repairs and recommendations are skeptic. I do not recommend this place. After hitting some concrete covered by mounded snow the night before I seriously ruptured my left front tire....and to add drama I had a commitment in another town 1.5 hours away by 2:00. ..... Got a nail in my tire, went to Dunn for repair. They fixed the tire and told me they put in 32 lbs of air. That was a lie. Put in way to much air. When I asked why the said their gauge was off. I never leave reviews but this was just frustrating I went in for a tire repair ended up having to get a new one and the man was rude and short the whole time and kept talking to me with attitude and treating me like I was stupid. while also laughing in my face multiple times one being when trying to pay for my tire when apparently it wasn't time yet even tho he told me the total and it was all very unnecessary I didn't need anything complicated and when I went up to see how much longer after 30 mins for my rims to be put on a new tire they said a few more minutes and had it out seconds later. I'm done with Dunn. I've always been put out coming here for tire rotations because they take appointment times like they are suggestions. Plan on a minimum of an hour here for a tire rotation with an appointment. THEY BROKE MY WHEEL STUD, LIED, AND PUT ON THE WRONG SIZE STUD TO FIX IT, so I am done with them. I had a 9am appointment back in January. After an hour no one had told me anything so I went up and asked. The dude disappears for a few minutes and then comes out and slowly starts mansplaining to me how tires work.They broke a wheel stud while rotating the tires. The good thing or the responsible thing they did was admit they f-ed up and they replaced the part they broke on their own dime. They said it would be a little bit longer, so I'm standing there waiting under the assumption my car is almost done. 10 minutes later the dude tells me "the part will be here soon" because he sees me standing in the front because I assumed like they told me, the car was almost done. Nope! Start to finish it took 2 HOURS for a simple tire rotation and they broke something. The not respecting appointment times is annoying, the mansplaining to me is annoying, the breaking my car on a simple maintenance item is annoying but you know what the real deal breaker for me was? Flash forward to today while I was getting my oil changed at my regular mechanic and I asked them to rotate my tires (since I no longer trust Dunn to do it). They asked me why did that wheel have the wrong size stud and the wrong nuts on it? GD you, Dunn, GD you for breaking my wheel and then putting the wrong stud on it!!!! That's what I get for buying tires from them. Sure, Dunn says they will give you "free" tire rotation but for that "free" cost they will break things on your car, try to cover it up and then do shoddy repair work. RUN, do not walk, RUN away from this place if you value your car. Do not trust them for any work. Their "free" work will not be "free" when they F up your car. read more

This place is garbage! I went in here when I got a flat tire and they told me I had a small pin hole on the corner of the tire that made it un-reparable. He said my only option was to buy a new tire, and in his opinion based on the low tread of my other tires I should "probably replace all four". I found this so slimy. I instead decided to take it to Southtown Tire. (I had to fill the flat with air 3 times on the way). This was totally worth it because Southtown Tire had me fixed in 20min and for $20. Was told I had a $70.00 rebate on 11/14 and I ordered my tires. Was told 3 days to get them in so setup appointment to have them installed on 11/18 . When I asked about the rebate when I was checking out , Was told it ended on 11/15 and I did ask if I needed to pay on the 14th and was told no. Would have gone a different tire if the salesman was better informed, which cost me $70 dollars. read more

FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO DO WHATEVER WORK YOU NEED! If you get your oil changed here, keep an eye on your undercarriage. You're apt to find oil leaking out like crazy and then you'll need to go somewhere else to have it fixed. This happened to my wife. They overtightened the gasket and oil was everywhere and if we hadn't gone to another shop to have some unrelated work done, we would likely be replacing an engine this week. And of course they are going to give you a hard time about a refund, because how could you expect them to do the work you ask without screwing up your car? And now you think you shouldn't have to pay for them to screw up your car and make you have the work done twice? Crazy. You should have lower expectations. If I could give a zero I would. I noticed that my right front tire was wearing and brought my car in for an alignment. That work was done fine but when I got home I noticed the key for my wheel locks was missing. I called first thing on Monday and they told me that my key must have been given to a different customer and they would reimburse me for a replacement. They couldn't/wouldn't get a replacement key for me and said a could drive to Hamburg to get a replacement. Just glad I noticed before I needed it. I could only imagine having a flat or taking it for an inspection and then not being able to find it. read more

I called at 8, and was able to get a 5pm appointment for that day (they had earlier, but were helpful in accommodating my work schedule). They reviewed potential charges, and had my car back in the garage 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. They fixed my flat in 35 minutes, and I was back to get my car in less than an hour! They filled up all my other tires as well! The service was great too, as everyone was friendly and helpful! While I hope I don't need to anytime soon, I know where I will go to fix my tires in the future. read more

I had purchased four tires on my car and and replaced the tpm on all four tires, the car made it about a mile down the road and then the pressure monitor went off, come to find out that they placed a faulty monitor in the right front tire that caused a malfunction in all four monitors then a week goes by and get a flat tire when I make a appointment to replace the the tpm and now tire they say that they can not find the appointment I had made the two nights prior online, I call the night before the appointment and they say they can not keep the appointment and will not be able to get me in for three days!!!! Called about a simple patch since my regular mechanic was booked up. Was told no problem, you can drop it off. I was impressed by the rep going over what they would do and giving up front price... Right up until they called with "yeah, you need a new $300 tire." Now not so impressed. A nail in a tire should not be a difficult fix for tire "professionals" but I think they just wanted to go for the higher price sale. My car battery died in their parking lot. They tried to jump it but apparently had put the cables on backward because after they put in a new battery, my electrical system was all messed up. Had to take car to dealership. Took hours to deal with this. Some of the workers at Dunn seem to know what they are doing but not sure it's worth the risk to take my car there. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAQUE! I have previously written about the nightmare they put me through. Charged me $120.00 for an oil change that is $60.00 everywhere else. Well yesturday I got an oil change from my regular mechanic. Yes it required 2 additional quarts, and it was $60.00, both as it has been the last 30 times. But, somehow Dunn claims they put 4 extra quarts in. Well, guess what, turns out they didn't even change the oil filter I PAID FOR! My mechanic said it was extremely clogged! read more
