A 50/50 shot work completed correctly, had to pay 100.00 to another shop to diagnose what they did wrong. Then brought back to shop so they know how to fix it, but they would not refund my hundred dollars to find out what was really wrong. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I have taken my vehicles here before without problems. This time I was told it was going to cost $330 to drop my bumper to change the running light. After insp saw that they never did and was told at the counter he witnessed the mechanic drop it. After numerous complaints, the manager said he talked to the mechanic who said he never dropped the bumper. I knew that from physical evidence., so the kid at the counter lied 3 times to me to make me pay more. Never again will I go there or recommend. Don't be fooled by their joyful attitudes. read more

I get gas here, so I thought, why don't I Cleve a review of this place. It's a little family owned garage and sunoco that has a busier place right on Main in Downtown. This little shop and garage is the original location. It's right around all the places I go on a daily basis so I get gas here all the time. The prices are often cheaper than a lot of others in the area, but it closes kind of early. It's still a good place to fill up. They also have really nice customer service, hence the bump up to 4 stars. read more

This neighborhood auto & tire shop is walking distance from my house, even after they moved locations. I really wanted to have a walkable mechanic for obvious reasons, that's why I took my car there 3 times despite all 3 being negative experiences. My final visit, boy howdy, was that a doozy that made me question if this place is actually a shop or just a front for money laundering. Visited March, 2021, and since I have been telling anyone that will listen, do not take your car here. My car sat there all day friday all day saturday. I called multiple times, always "Jeff is working on one last thing" or "Tim just took it out for a spin to see if it's ready." For two days. Then when i picked the car up, the dude says, dead ass serious, we couldn't rotate the tires because we couldn't get the tires off. I think your lugnuts swole. The mechanic told me, i would need to take my car somewhere to get the lugnuts off -- when i asked if he knows any mechanic shops that can do it for me, he said, unironically, "No, sorry" Yep, a CLEVE-HILL Mechnanic told me "You need to bring your car back once you replace the lugnuts, so they can work on my car" read more

They took advantage of my 81 yr old mother. They told her she needs her oil changed every 6 months. The last 6 months she drove less than 2000 miles. They're upselling, milking old ladies out of money, and taking advantage of her with maintenance that's not needed. read more

This place absolutely saved the day yesterday for me! After dropping someone off at the airport I somehow managed to get a nail stuck in my back driver side tire and it popped on the highway. Being the moron that I am I decided to drive it off the exit and to the closest gas station instead of pulling over which I totally should have done. Luckily, the gas station I pulled into also had Cleve-Hill Auto & Tire right inside! I was able to pull in, talk to the great staff, and get a new tire all within about 30 minutes. If you don't know anything about car repairs or how much parts on cars cost, or you don't have someone in your life who does and can advise you on those things, then you will probably like this garage. The reception area is clean. The people working here are very friendly. Based on other reviews, they seem to do good work. You can get in for an appointment relatively quickly. For all that, I gave two stars. But the mark up on parts here is outrageous. I expect to pay a lot for labor, you are paying for an expertise you don't have. But when my dad saw the part costs in the estimate from Cleve Hill, his jaw hit the floor. He refused to let me get raked over the coals here. We ended up purchasing the parts ourselves for a fraction of the cost. We purchased new parts online and from AutoZone, and my kind dad ended up doing all the work. I wanted to bring it to the garage as I worry about my dad doing too much. :-( But he insisted. He ended up getting the job done for about $200 in parts, instead of almost $1600 total at the garage. And some of the work the garage wanted to do was not necessary. My dad worked in the Chevy plant. He built the parts that the garage was saying needed replacement, and that just was not true. After my dad did the work, we brought the vehicle elsewhere for inspection, (to a chain place, not some back-alley guy), and it passed just fine with the work we did. Well, the work my dad did. ;-) I was so hoping to finally find a fair, honest mechanic at Cleve Hill. It is a convenient location for us. But nope, not a winner. My guess is they do quality work here, as they do have many good reviews. But who knows if you really need it, (unless you're my dad), and you are going to pay through the nose. Pretty pricey. They replaced steering rods claiming that was the source of noise. Eventually found out my shocks were bad at a different repair shop which noticed the new rods asking me who and why those were replaced. Had a broken door fixed there. $250 for that, only needed a latch. Went back because it didn't close right. Was told that it was fixed without even looking at it. read more

Took my wife's 2010 Murano in for a steering problem. I was hoping it was an alignment, but it became obvious it wasn't so I took it in. The people there were really helpful. It's rare to find a service station anymore. The mechanics diagnosed the problem, and also addressed a muffler problem I had noticed. A Nissan dealer had quoted me $891.00 to replace the rear mufflers. Cleve-Hill put a new steering shaft in, checked everything, replacement of the rear mufflers and told me the 9 year old battery was on its last legs. The total was about $90.00 less than the estimate. I will definitely be taking my cars here in the future! read more

The girl at the counter stated they are leaving in 10 minutes but I could leave the car there for someone to look at it or use the air hose.
