I've been by this location twice to get my tire pressure checked. They do this free of charge. The gentleman there are always friendly and accommodating. Came for an oil change and wanted to be sure everything was okay with my car. They were very helpful in explaining what i needed done and why. Compared to my car dealership I felt very informed here. I've never been told about tire sensors or why I would need new brakes till coming here. I didnt feel pressured into buying anything unnecessary and felt like I learned something new about my car! I went here for an oil change. That's all I wanted. Immediately, they told me I needed new tires. I don't. The tires on there only have 15,000 miles. Next, I waited an hour for an oil change. I was the only person in the store (first customer of the day). After an hour, the mechanic came out and told me that I needed a new air filter, some kind of new belt system I've never heard of, a different type of air filter and a new light for my license plate. The bill was going to be 250$. None of this stuff is necessary and when I told the dude I'd do it myself, he said, "well it is really difficult to access this and takes a long time to even check." My response, "then why did you tear my car apart to look at it?" I wanted an oil change! This is a place that simply upsells to unsuspecting, uninformed customers. I expect this from these sleazy oil change places, but this one was especially bad. And finally, at the end of the visit, my "need oil change" light was still blinking on the dash..... read more

Wish I could give this place a 5... but one guy was a 5/5 and another guy... maybe a 2/5. Came here because my AAA told me I could get my tire plugged here for free with my membership. Got to the shop and a guy met me outside and asked if I had cash because it was cash only for the plug. I said no and explained what AAA had told me. He brought me inside to wait because he said he needed to ask about it. About 10 minutes later another guy (the 5/5) came out super nice and immediately got my keys and apologized for the wait. The initial guy was there was well and literally was like 'I'm not doing it I'm on break' and walked off. I initially thought he was joking. About 15 minutes later he comes back with my keys and I thank him for helping me out but all I got was a snarl. I apologized for him working on his break but got a rude reply as well so I just left. As I was pulling off the the 5/5 guy was outside and cheerfully thanked me and waved me away. I think I would come back because the other guy was really nice :) car troubles already aren't the funnest so it's always nice to have a friendly helpful face. My husband needed to fix a leaking stem on one of his tires and change the same tire because it tore. He speaks English as a second language but has a heavy knowledge in car mechanics but they acted like he was dumb. They are rude, slow, and waste your time. They don't have an updated stock and they will tell you after charging you that they don't have a product. RUDE. If I could I would give them 0/5. read more

I needed a tire and went to the Lakeshore location gentleman said he did have that sizes and recommended the greens springs location. The gentleman at greensprings refused to put a tire on my car due to the control arms being bad and i told him i could afford to fix it. I am unsure why one location was willing and the other wasn't . i was told that i was wasting my money and it was a liability. I won't say why i think the greensprings location wouldn't fix my tire but i went down the street and got a tire from someone else. Will never visit another Mavis Discount Tire and would not recommend this location at all. read more

Yesterday (Oct 5) I went to the Lakeview Tire Engineers store (just off 6th Ave South). My 2007 Acura has some sort of electrical problem, a "parasitic drain" on the battery, that needs to be tracked-down and fixed. I told this to the first fellow I saw, working at his little work podium. He was nice enough, but referred me to another guy off to his right. That fellow said that, yes, they could track down the problem, but that I'd need to leave my Acura overnight. He assured me that even if my vehicle was left all day and overnight, I'd only be charged for the under-the-hood work their specialist would do. That's when I said something like, "Well, if the problem can just be tracked down to a small light that won't turn off or something else simple like that, then I'd be happy with the fuse just being pulled and that's that." The fellow looked at me a little funny, but said, "Yes, it might be that simple, but we just can't tell without checking it out." That was a reasonable response. It was then that yet a third guy -- this one also perched at his work station just behind the fellow I finished speaking with -- piped-up and with a half-laugh, half-sneer said: "Yeh, I worked on a *unicorn* the other day and everything worked out great and simple and inexpensively. Haw! Haw! Haw!" I was a bit stunned. This guy was, (a) mocking me, and (b) telling me that I was delusional if I thought I was going to get out of that store without having my wallet reamed. I finally said something like, "Uh, right. Well, yes, there are complex problems and simple problems. Hopefully this one will be simple." Then spoke for another minute with the guy right in front of me about when might be best to bring my SUV in. Later in the day the more I thought about it the angrier I got. There was No Way this vehicle of mine was getting left with those guys. I did a little online research, found another (pretty close by) place, called and talked with a very polite guy, and now have an appointment with *that* shop to take my Acura in this afternoon (and this fellow, at the Not Tire Engineers shop) assured me that if I got my vehicle in by 2:00p.m. they'd have the problem at least pinpointed, if not fixed, by the end of the work day. I gave Tire Engineers 2 Stars as I will assume their mechanics and technicians posses baseline competency to fix vehicles. However, I can say nothing positive about the feeling they give prospective customers. A shame. read more

No Service after the sale... making an appointment is a waste of your time... I have shown up twice with an appointment only to be told it would be an hour before they can start just a rotation and balance on my vehicle.. when I finally had my tires rotated and balanced the neglected to balance 1 of the tires .. I returned to have the tires re balanced 2 days later with no apology, nothing ! Left again and still not balanced !!! This is a 2 year old Escalade that they managed to make ride like a 10 year old log truck ! read more
