Update toreview 060625. Collin asst mgr called me 061125 as he was told by corp to do so. I explained what happened and what disappointed me - they didnt reinstall the CAI correctly, overcharged on the rad and cooling fan by $400, bent 2 brake lines. Collin never apologized nor did he offer any $comp or small $ incentive to return. So what was the point of him calling as no purpose was served. I guess he checked the box that corp instructed him to call me. Disappointment continues - no plans to ever return. read more

I came to this location per a recommendation and I do not regret it one bit. After receiving the quote for work from my dealership, I called this place sobbing. The service manager was comforting and promised to help on any way he could. This location reviewed all of the notes from my dealership, inspected my truck, and have a quote of half of the initial quote. I was shocked, elated, and grateful. The work has been awesome, with no further issues. The customer service was a head above the rest. Each person that I came in contact with was smiling and helpful. I went to the Tire Engineers in Hoover the day before because my low pressure indicator was on. The young man who helped me was so nice and got all tires back up to the right amount. Unfortunately the one that was the lowest was the culprit the whole time. Because it was near closing time they were not able to figure out the problem but I was able to make it home. The indicator was back on and I went to Alabaster this morning and Mr. Josh took care of me. I was glad I didn't need a new tire and I didn't have to wait that long. Went in 30 mins before closing. The gentleman who changed my oil were professional, friendly and courteous. I went in during customer appreciation week so I got 10 off my oil change and some free snacks . But what impressed my mother and I is the concern for my vehicle as a whole . Checking fluids , tires and giving good sound recommendations and not just trying to sell me a product! So oil changes are their thing - and they have it down to a science. When we were new to the area, I was referred to Express and I was told they were dependable and fair in pricing. I have been there several times since then. On my most recent trip I needed a tire rotation, a synthetic oil change, new air filter, a headlight - and I decided to take advantage of the Transmission service they recommended on the normal service schedule. The cost was $75 and it took 7 minutes. The headlight "had to be ordered" and it was delivered before the tire rotation was done. Indeed it was there even before the oil change was done. Pricing is competitive and reasonable compared to other businesses in the area. I will definitely be back. read more

I'm a believer of giving a business a chance to redeem themselves after a bad experience, so I decided to come back and give the Alabaster location another chance. Upon pulling up, i was quickly directed to bay 1. My technician, Terrell, was very nice and answered all of my questions. I came for an oil change and after the safety checks of the lights, horns, etc. Terrell informed me that there was a note on my account for a recommended transmission fluid change. I'm used to technicians recommending things and not wanting to answer my questions, but not Terrell. He answered my questions about why it was needed and the purpose of having the transmission fluid changed. He even gave me a pamphlet explaining the process and why it's needed. After doing my questioning and research I decided that it was necessary for this service to be completed. Overall I had a very pleasant experience and my technician, Terrell, did an awesome job helping this location redeem my business. I will be back in the near future. read more

Cruised right in and out in about 15 minutes. Did an excellent job and was less expensive for full synthetic change than I have paid before. Staff was very pleasant. Definitely will be going back. They even reset my computer in the car which was good. read more

The technician (Not a certified mechanic) installed the air filter incorrectly causing (as per the Nissan bill/statement provided with repair) debris to get to the MAF sensor - shutting off my car in the middle of a busy intersection without warning. $435 dollars for the repair after being towed and requiring an uber ride home. The manager, DON FRANK at Express was rude and degrading - he told me I should have called them so it could be examined while it was in the intersection! How would anyone presume to know that an untrained "tech" would put an air filter in incorrectly! Please, please, please do not use EXPRESS!!! Their mistake could have easily caused a major accident. The company, knowing their mistake, did nothing! NOTHING. These places clearly have no concern for safety!! read more

They LEFT MY VEHICLE IN DRIVE ON A HILL when returning it to me. This is after giving me a $10 discount on a second alignment because they didn't do the first one right in weeks previous. The tire tech and manager argued that it was something I did time after time and shyly admitted what they did was not done right originally. Im sure they do oil changes just fine, but any other advanced mechanic work, seek someone else. read more

Went for oil change and a new tire. Oil change went well, good crew, but the tire change side had installed the tire on the wrong tire. When I commented, they said they couldn't fix that day and I needed to come back the next day. No discounts were offered for the inconvenience. This location seems to be going downhill. Last three visits have progressively gotten worse. Waited ten minutes behind a vehicle while other vehicles who arrived after me were serviced. Employees were not attentive to situation. Store manager came out (Don) and when I tried to explain the situation he held up his hand and said he was talking to his employees. I decided to leave and he loudly said "I don't know what this guy is doing". I went down the street to the other location and was treated royally. I always take my car to have oil changed at this location in Alabaster. Today I took car to have tires rotated and had my small dog with me. The man told me to keep dog off the furniture. When I got to the waiting room the entire room was filthy but it's no big deal because it's an oil change store. The chair was full of animal hair and grime but it's rubber or plastic and can be wiped off. I sat down and my small dog jumped in my lap. A few minutes later the man came back in and asked me to put dog in the floor. A few minutes later the man pulled up with my car and said he would not service my car because I did not keep dog off chair. I was stunned. He brought paper towels with a bottle of Windex and asked me to wipe the chair down. I was speechless. There are three people in my house that take their car to this location but that ends today. If this place was a new car showroom I could understand but it is a dirty oil change store. If the technician was worried about people having allergies to dogs, I would think they would keep the chairs wiped down for the customers. read more

Folks here were quick, courteous, seemingly competent and not as overly pushy in trying to "sell" additional products and/or services as some of this genre tend to be. My complaint is the price. $50 for a basic oil change service is simply too much. Especially when other places advertise the same service for considerably less. I'll be skipping this level of convenience for a place more affordable. read more

I went to Express oil change located at 4640 US-31, Calera, AL 35040. There where two bays and three cars in each line upon my arrival. I randomly chose a line to get into. After several minutes of waiting my line proceeded to move while the other line did not. Apparently one of the cars in the other line had an issue. I WAS THEN ASKED TO BACK UP AND LET THE PERSON IN THE OTHER LINE GET IN FRONT OF ME, BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN WAITING FOR A WHILE. I still don't understand this. Express oil change appears to have a lot of business and won't miss me. With that said, I will never go to an Express oil change again. First impressions are lasting! read more

Not impressed. Two guys we're working on my car. Simple oil change. The two men argued the entire time. Not friendly! Couldn't believe they didn't check my tire pressure. I take my car here for everything - oil changes, tires, and any problems that I have had with my 2004 mini van - I would not take it anywhere else, Courteous service but most of all I trust these guys and I believe you pay for what you get - great service. Had an engine light come on - rushed right over there seeing the dollar signs go up, they checked out the car and instead of performing repairs that were not necessary determined it was a sensor, they reset the sensor, engine light went right off and I was told if it came back on to come back - They charged me zero for checking it out - that was two years ago and the engine is purring along- I like the fact that they do not take advantage of my ignorance and run up repair cost.
