This company took me for a ride last year. Things were done off the clock and not warranted without my knowledge. Long story short, I was ripped off. HOWEVER, companies change and get new staff so I decided to go back up and try again. Upon arrival I noticed the individual AND the manager were no longer with the company. After 3 tries and much frustration with both the company and I, Mike, the manager and his staff resolved the issue and accepted responsibility as a company and remedied my car issues. No company is perfect. And reliable staff is very hard to find these days. Mike and his staff did what was right and in return, I will go back to them for future work. On 4/15/25, I went to Mavis Tire on Lanier Pkwy in Buford, GA to have 3 tires replaced (both front tires and one rear). Prior to drop-off, both front tires were low, and the dash clearly showed "low tire pressure," meaning the tire sensors were working. About 30 minutes after leaving my car, I received a call saying my brakes and rotors needed replacement for around $1,200. I declined. Shortly after, a second call came from a different employee pushing the brake service again. I declined once more. That second person then told me both front tire sensors were defective and quoted $120 per sensor plus labor. I said no, since the sensors were working before service. At pickup, the front desk staff again tried to sell me brake service, now saying the $1,200 quote included tire sensors. I left with my new tires--but now the dash reads "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault." My opinion: I felt extremely uncomfortable with the aggressive sales tactics. I can't say for sure something shady happened, but I came in with working sensors and left with a sensor fault warning. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning. read more

Horrible front desk operator. She refused to honor an order placed online for four tires including installation. She claims that my problem was ordering them online even though the ticket number is listed on my receipt exactly like it is in the system. The lady was rude and yelled at me. I have received good service from here before, but that experience just made them a lose a customer for life. Update: After I posted this, I promptly received a message from a company representative who apologized profusely. The company has always done great work for me, so it seems it was just an outlier incident. read more

My daughter's experience today: Word of caution: No one use Mavis Discount Tire's store #637 for ANYTHING. I arrived with a car that functioned great, and left with a car that doesn't. What should have been a simple tire replacement has resulted in a vehicle that won't shift into reverse or drive, and therefore wont turn off either due to a technician repeatedly violently yanking on my shift knob like it was a dog's tug of war rope. After the store manager said they'd pay the repairs, we let him know we could not drive home in a car that wouldn't turn off or park properly -- I was not given a rental, nor the ability to leave my car at the shop as I had no way to get home. Customer service line has been helpful in attempting to rectify the chaos that Brad (the assistant store manager) and Wyatt (his manager above him) have caused, but I still don't have a resolution or a fixed car. Additionally, the attitude I received from Brad despite his admission of knowing the technician's mistake (caught me on camera instructing him not to yank on the shift knob and rather to pull up and push/pull to the desired gear not once but TWICE) was and has continued to be extremely disrespectful. We go back tomorrow morning to continue attempting to correct the issue caused by the staff's negligence, when it should have been handled from the get-go. If I could urge you to do one thing, it's to get your tire work done somewhere else. Next Day Update: Dealing with Asst Manager Brad and Store Manager Mitch. Talk about a disaster. Mitch has no concern or integrity when it comes to handling an error that was made by one of his employees. He has lied to us and according to the regional manager we have finally gotten in touch with he is lying to the regional managers as well. Had a RV tire that was loosing air and the folks at the Lanier Island Pkwy found that all I needed was a new valve stem. They replaced it free of charge and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Thanks Mavis I highly recommend you to anyone. Phil read more

Had two cars that needed alignments done and I was referred to Mavis. Called in first and Christina was very helpful. Came in with the first car and they found that the tire rod ends were frozen up and I had to go get those fixed first. But they did replace all my TPM valves because the batteries were dead. Came in with the second car the very next day for its alignment. Great people. Highly recommended. Update on my experience... we had an issue with the TPM sensors on my BMW - evidently it's an extra step to get them done beyond the normal. They figured it out and got me back on the road easy. read more

Twice I've come to this location and have been met with the same rude female service writer. First time I walked in to set an appointment to purchase tires and she told me to do it online. The second time, called in advice. I had an oil leak from a recent prior oil change elsewhere that might have not been done properly and wanted to know if they could look at it. I was told by one of the service writers on the phone to bring it in for a quick look to see if they can help. I also wanted to get a quote on brakes. Upon arrival, I was met by the same rude female service advisor who interrupted the person I was working with and said they weren't touching it because they didn't want to be held responsible for the oil leak which I already disclosed as my issue. She said they weren't touching anything they didn't work on. This is a services station that fixes cars, but apparently, the only ones that they mess up. If she were any good at her job she would notate this on the service order to absolve them from liability. The fact that she would even insinuate that scenario is insulting. I'm new to the area and have used Mavis Tires & Brakes at other locations, and NEVER have I experienced how disrespectful this person treats customers as well as other employees. I'm sorry, Mavis, if this is the best that the employment line has to offer, but there are other good service writers at that location that are being railroaded by this woman. Please consider spending your time training the trainable, not someone that apparently has a grudge against the world. If you don't like your job, lady, find another because it's clear that customer service isn't for you. read more

I showed up to get a flat fixed @ 4:35 pm on a Saturday and the girl behind the counter told me that it takes 45 mins to repair a flat and that it couldn't be done today. They didn't close until five. I told her that I live on the south side of Atlanta and asked if they could do it today. She said that there was no way. So I drove to JP tire and they have it fixed and mounted back on the car. Mavis service is terrible and I will never use them. read more

I have been a Kaufman/Mavis tire customer for 30 years but NEVER AGAIN! I purchased Mavis brand tires about 3 1/2 year ago and have maintained them religiously, including rotation, performed under my cars dealer maintenance contract, every 5,000 miles. When I went to the Mavis dealer on Friendship Rd. today for a rotation they refused to perform the service claiming the tires were dry rotted. I took the car to two other tire shops and confirmed that there is no dry rot on any tire. They obviously only wanted to sell me tires instead of honoring their obligation. A business that lies to make a sale should never be supported. read more

My son took his jeep here for some brake and balancing work, and after a short wait, they had taken one tire off and determined they did not have all the right tools to do the work without scratching his alloy wheels and thankfully just camee back and told him. The problem was that when they put the wheel back on, they did not tighten the wheel lugs. My son only had to drive a short distance, but the wheel came loose within a half mile and became dangerous. He pulled over as quick as he could, but the alloy wheel was Already destroyed. I immediately took my son back up there and explained what had happened to the manager who genuinely seemed contrite. He asked to keep the whheel and see if they could geek it fixed, he callled on the following Monday and told us that the wheel could not be safely repaired and that if my son could find a replacement, Mavis woUld pay for it. We took him at his word and when not able to find an exact replacement , my son settleed for something close and brought the receipt back to the manager who or promised prompt reimbursement. That was back before thanksgiving in 2019. Despite multiple follow ups from my son and additional promises and statements that "corporate is working on it", he has received nothing. At this point I have to assume they have no intention of resolving ng this problem they created for my son. Very disappointing. Not a company I want to do business with again. read more

Do not give them your business. Period. The woman was super disrespectful, rude, and insulting when talking to me. I was here for a simple break pad change (originally quoted $119) and after waiting 2 hours they tried charging me a total of $450. But the best part is is that this appointment was made days ahead of time and they were informed of everything that needed to be done. Yet after 2 hours of waiting I was told that "they wouldn't be able to do it today anyways". That would have been nice to know before wasting my time. Simple communication that they wouldn't be able to work on my car would have been appreciated (preferably within the first 30 mins of looking at the rear breaks only) instead of wasting 2 hours of my time before informing me. This is my favorite Mavis to go to for routine maintenance. They don't talk to me like I'm stupid, they never tell me that a bunch of stuff needs to be fixed when it doesn't, and they get the job done. They're always friendly and they don't often quote me a time frame but I always wait. I had to go in for new tires because one had dry rot, and found out my used car had tires just as old as the car! So they had to get me a whole new set, but they had to be ordered since my tires are two different sizes. They got them in the next day, put the tires on, helped me set up a credit card and then I was good to go. They quoted me a price and it was the exact same as when I went to pay. If you need work done, I recommend them. read more

Nice managers who seem earnest. Now the bad parts: I found a great internet price on the tires I needed, so I called the "local" 470 area code number and made an appt for the next morning. I was assured the tires would be shipped to the store overnight. I thought I was speaking to someone local (e.g., Buford) but it turns out it was a corporate rep in New York! This was explained without prompting, ad infinitum, when I showed up the following morning (apparently you need to press option #2 when you call the "local" number in order to speak to someone "local". How would you ever expect this to be the case?! ) They had my appt in the calendar so they began the tire change. About an hour into it, the service manager explained that only 3 tires had been sent from the warehouse. Really? Who orders three tires? Two: maybe. Four: usually. But three? Gimme a break. To his credit, he jumped in his truck and drove down an exit to retrieve the wayward fourth tire. When the service was completed, I was told that the total was approximately $800, more than $200 over the price that I found online (and which was confirmed by the person I spoke to on the phone). To their credit the managers corrected the price and honored the original quote. But had I not been paying attention I could have easily walked out of the store after paying 25% more than I should have. So the service is completed - that should have been the end of it, but being the squared away person I am, I checked the tire pressure readouts on my dash and lo and behold I have a range of pressures from 33 to 41 PSI, which suggests lack of detail and QA on their part. When I got home I thought I'd simply lower the pressure in the "high" tire and add air from my compressor to the "low" tires. But when I let pressure out of the high tire (according to my truck's TPMS readout, it reflected the pressure change in the lowest pressure tire. Red flag. So I manually checked the pressure on all tires and discovered a complete mismatch from what the TPMS was showing me. This strongly suggested that they did not recalibrate the TPMS tire positions (GMC Canyon owners manual page 304). I called back immediately to explain the problem and made an appointment for the next day that I was home in order to have it corrected. This morning, I spend an hour having the TPMS recalibrated only to discover upon driving off that my pressure readings were inconsistent across tires (lesson to service managers: always ensure all pressures are exactly the same as called for). So I pulled off and lowered the pressure in the high pressure tire. But the TPMS readout showed a change in pressure in the low tire. Just as before - evidence that they were not able to recalibrate the TPMS. I double checked again at home and called the service manager back. He explained that he showed the tech how to use the calibration tool (another red flag!) and that if he had any questions he could ask the service manager. Okay, so the mystery is explained: they have a new service tech who did not understand his equipment and I was the guinea pig. So I now have a mismatched TPMS that I don't dare take back to this location to fix. I can only live with it until I either pay my dealer $19.99 to recalibrate or wait until my tires are rotated in several thousand miles and have the sensors calibrated correctly at that time. Oh, and I had to clean grease off my seat after I got home. Lesson learned- I suggest you all learn from my experience and avoid this place. Much better to just order the tires from Costco - and yes- wait the two weeks it takes to have them shipped in to have them installed. read more

Twice I've been to this location and was not able to get any assistance. First time a rude lady by the name of Christina assisted me; however, there was no mechanics that day. Came back a few days later for brake service and was told it should take about an hour to have my vehicle looked at. I left my vehicle and returned almost 4 hours later and my vehicle was not moved. The excuse was the mechanic is busy and they have been swamped. Didn't look swamped to me. Wouldn't waste time going to this location. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. Dishonest and negligent. I had a screw in my tire that needed patched. The mechanic stated, "it has 2 screws and the whole tire needs replaced". I went to another tire shop. Mavis removed the screw without my permission, I have my 4 year old son with me at all times. Very dangerous and neglectful. There was only 1 screw in the tire not 2. They also stated I "needed a new set of tires" which they are only a year old. WILL NOT BE BACK. If you want a good tire shop go to "The Tire shop" on Atlanta hwy. read more

Be very careful with Mavis at this location. Found them online and offered a "coupon special" for $149.00 for front or rear brakes with pads. The "special" seems to get a customer in the door for an inspection. With the inspection, they begin to pile on with all the things needed. In this case, they added rotors, calipers and the rear brakes (to what was intended as a front pad with possible new rotors if needed). I admittedly failed to insist on a bottom line price for the work and suffered the consequences - though, I never agreed to any work on the rear brakes. After upselling with new rotors, calipers and surprising me with rear brakes - a $149 special turned into an $1,150 surprise. I am able to do a fair amount of shade tree mechanic work. I was pressed for time and decided to use this Mavis. I am fairly confident I did not need anything more than front pads with possibly new rotors or rotors turned. This Mavis appears to be the type of business people fear when seeking out someone for car repairs. They take advantage by selling more than needed at a much higher price than their advertised coupon special. Yes, they have fine print on the coupon, but that does not substitute for openess and honesty. If you plan to consider or use this Mavis location, be sure to get in writing an agreement on the items to be repaired, the labor, shop supplies, etc. to know the total cost. If you suspect they are trying to add anything extra, you should go get an assessment and estimate elsewhere. I certainky hope the practices of this Mavis location is not the standard behavior for all Mavis locations. But, the experience here makes me wonder? read more

Never in my life I have I had worse customer experience than at Mavis Discount Tire in Flowery Branch. So many people have told me to avoid them, but I've used them because they are so close. Things got so bad that they're putting on my old tires back on now as I write this, with two with nails puncturing through after driving through a construction site. That's a liability I would think?!? Here is what happened: They had me drop off my truck at 8am after per-ordering tires and setting an appointment the day prior and tell me it will be available at lunchtime. At 4:30pm today I get a call saying they had to send someone to find my tires, and by the time they were installed it was 6:30pm... and they installed the wrong tires, but told me I needed an alignment. I said, "how long will that take?" He said 10 minutes. "How much will that cost?" I asked. "$100," he said. I asked if he could waive that and he wouldn't, he would give $10 off. It's now 7pm. So, ELEVEN hours later, I get the wrong tires, and they aren't willing to help me out on anything. The mechanic wasn't happy about me being upset or having them put my old tires back on, which would take 2 hours (vs 10 min for the alignment)and he came out pissed off and all aggressive, arms in the air, like he wanted to fight. I guess he didn't want to spend two hours swapping my tires. I asked for him to call corporate to find a solution to the problem and he told me they were closed and it wasn't possible. So, I walked next door to my office, called another Mavis location, they gave me the number to corporate and I had someone on the phone in 2 minutes!!!!... unfortunately, she was no help. Don't give these people your business. It's 7:30pm and I'm still waiting on my truck. To add insult to injury, they originally told me they would throw a military discount on the order after the advertised discount. They reneged on this when it was time to pick it up. At 8:30, still no call, decided to take an Uber home, and never got my truck! read more

I purchased 4 tires within the mast 5 months. I paid for road hazard. I hit a flat and they want to charge be 50.00 for a tire that's practically néw. Also every time I condone in for an oil change they tell me I need breaks. Avoid the entire navy's chain. They are crooks. read more

AJ is excellent. She's super nice and very knowledgeable. But everyone else we've dealt with here is terrible. We've had a few problems in the past but this one deserves a very bad review. I'm writing this mostly on my spouses behalf, but the Friday before the Fourth of July, we dropped his car off because there was still something squeaking after getting it serviced a few days prior. all they needed to do was lube it up to stop it. They let the entire day go by and never contacted us to tell us the car was ready for pick up! they closed (for the whole weekend) without giving us any kind of update. I'm 9 months pregnant and could go into labor at any moment so we NEEDED the car in our possession. We called the service line and she said they would contact the manager and we never heard anything from him. Not even an apology. It's now Monday and we finally have the key. The lack of concern is just awful. I do not recommend Mavis. read more
