This actually happened a while ago, but I kept forgetting to write a review. I wanted to do something nice for them because they were so incredibly nice, and the customer service was amazing. Where do I begin. I dropped my car off before they opened at 9am. Called 2 minutes after they opened and was told they would start working on my car. Called again around 3pm, car had not even been started. Not ready until after 4pm to change one tire. Mind you, the parking lot was empty when I arrived and when I dropped off. Thankfully, I didn't drop off and wait here for my vehicle. The customer who was in the waiting room when I picked up was sleeping, can't say I blame him. In my decades of owning many cars, this has to be the worst experience yet. When I took a look at the tire that was replaced, I noticed that my rim was damaged and scratched in several place. I have attached photos. Also, I was told my tire had a screw and two nails in it and couldn't be patched. I took a picture of my tire and the screw in it before dropping off my car, so I know it was a lie. And the likelihood of one tire having 3 nails in it and the others don't sounds like nonsense. I have posted the screw that was in my tire as well. Essentially, they ripped me off, by selling me a tire I didn't need that could have been patched. Customer service is definitely lacking at this location, the woman with all the tattoos, should not be in customer service at all. I took my car in yesterday on a Sunday, She answers the phone, Mavis, no hello, no nothing. And when you arrive she doesn't make eye contact, which shows how lowly and miserable of a person she is. I come back and the machine is still down... 3 months later I come back and they won't honor the service that i didn't receive but paid for. Do not ever go to this place. I was was scammed, fraudulent service, was refused a refund by their corporate office. I came to Mavis to get my wheel bearings replaced. I was charged for the service, but my car didn't drive any differently. I took it to a different mechanic who took apart the hub and revealed that the mechanics at Mavis didn't replace the bearings at all. I have pictures and the old parts in my possession, which I showed to Tanisha Richardson, the regional manager at this area of Mavis. She refused to do anything ans ignored my follow up emails despite me sending photographs and videos of the parts. Do not go here or you run the risk of being scammed. read more

I purchased tires in June of this year and was told at the time that the warranty for the Michelin Premium tires included the extended warranty so none was purchased. As an FYHI, I purchase extended warranty for two things - tires and cellphones - based on life experience. I recently noticed that one of my back tires was losing air, so I took my car to the same Mavis store that I previously visited. The tire ended up having two separate leaks, and I was told that the tire needed to be replaced. At that time, I was told that there was NO extended warranty on the Michelin tires. If I had known that there was NOT an extended warranty offer, I would NOT have purchase this brand and type of tire at the original purchase. The Mavis desk employee who sold me the tires had since been fired for 'things like this'. I initially was offered to get an extended warranty and to pay for the new tire based on wear, which was minimal. I was quoted $130 for the replacement. I was later called on the phone and told that the extended warranty was NOT available, and that I would have to pay dealer cost for the tire. In the end, that meant another $293 for the tire - about the same as the original tire cost. A call to a district manager proved fruitless, and I was forced to pay the $293. All I asked was to be treated fairly as a consumer who had been directed incorrectly at the initial sale, but to no avail. Current desk personnel were courteous and tried to assist, but Mavis management said NO. read more

Gotta say these guys are rock stars and helped me out today with a battery issue. Had a dead battery at work and while on break I called to find out that they had a battery replacement that fit my my vehicle. As soon as I got off of work I made a beeline there. They quickly greeted me and then took the vehicle back and replace the battery. Not only did they replace the battery they pointed out some issues that I had with the battery cable connection at the terminal. They also said that they could fix this with a simple inexpensive process instead of having to replace the entire battery cable assembly. Anytime a business is willing to fix something rather than sell something new I am impressed. Kudos to the team at Mavis. read more

I'm used to going to the Mavis location in Marietta off Austell rd but I happened to be in this area at the time and severely needed tires. I called beforehand and was given a quote for for new tires and shortly I received a call from Mavis directly to confirm my appointment. When I arrived a gentleman named Rick (I think that was his name) was absolutely amazing. He prepped me with what to expect and also saved me some money. I got an Uber back to my friends house and waited for my car to be complete. They called and kept me informed on the status of my car every step of the way. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle it was pulled out front ready for me to hop in. I walked in and paid for the services rendered and my car has been driving so much better ever since. Never again! How do I take a car in to get maintenance done and it comes out worse than it went in?! HOW?! So I went in for my standard oil change and wheel alignment and other checks. They tell me I need two front tires and they give me a discounted rate for it. It's a pretty penny for the service ($466) for oil change, wheel alignment, two new tires, and I think balance and rotation. HOWEVER IT CAME OUT TRASH. I've been to them plenty of times before, which pains me I'm NEVER coming to them again. When I got my car back, one new tire was missing a tire cap and had 20 out of 32 PSI for that damn tire. Also, my wheel alignment was fucked in that I had to hold it to the left to just keep it straight!! And even more interesting they put the new tires on the front?? I don't know who I pissed off, but WOW SOMEONE WANTED TO KILL YA GIRL! #hellNO read more

Ian and Mike Low tire pressure indicator, not something you want to see on your way to work. Stopped at Mavis to have them check it out. There was no hesitation in there response and they looked into it on the spot, no reservation. Initially thought it was the drivers side tire since there clearly was a nail in it, nope. Pulled out the nail, checked for leaks, all good. Ian didn't stop there, he found nails on 3 of my 4 tires and finally found where the pressure was leaking. They could of used this to there advantage and charge for another tire.. Nope, was pleasantly surprised to hear, "that can be patched" and at no cost. Customer service at there finest! Ian and Mike got me back on the road... You don't see genuine care these days and to have it here at Mavis makes me come back to this spot regardless where I am! Mavis, if you are reading this, give those two a raise! Seriously... I called the Old Norcross location and explained to the manager what I was dealing with he told me come on over we will get you in! 15 minutes later I signed in and was done with my oil change and tire rotation in less then an hour. So I had asked for my brake wear sensors to be replaced (I changed the brakes on my 3 series myself but one sensor was bad that I didn't have). The service manager came out and quoted me over $900 saying the ABS sensors needed to be changed... I'm savvy with my car and repairs. I personally changed my brakes and ran the code through my Carly system. No ABS faults. Just the brake wear sensors. So he quoted me $900 for something I don't need when I actually need a part that's $12 each. Not too cool. I had to instruct him what needs to be replaced and what doesn't. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the customer, does it. Came back with another quote for $335 for the sensors and labor. Sooo, I went online to ECS Tuning and ordered parts myself. $58 including 2 day shipping. I'll do it myself in around an hour and a half this weekend and save a few hundred. I went in for a normal oil change. The manager billed me $90 which is OK. They replaced my windshield wipers and charged me without authorizing the work. The manager also bribed me and several other customers for a 5 star review with 10% off my bill. So dont trust these reviews. read more

Their customer service is the only quality you'll receive from this location. Run to another service station if possible!!! Their mechanics are careless, and apathetic once they've added damage to your car. My disgust is that they overcharged me for a wheel bearing replacement, and then the mechanic carelessly snipped my ABS sensor. Their customer service and store manager reported his error to me passively and asked me to come the following day for a quick fix. They even spoke as if fixing their mechanic's error was a favor to me. A week later they have ordered the wrong part twice, and I came back to their location wasting my time twice. I am still awaiting this repair. They are incompetent, unconcerned, and clearly clueless about efficiency when working on cars. Hopefully they will fix my sensor when I next return! I had just bought two new tires with an alignment here and my other two were about 5 months old one was going flat a simple fix versus replacing the entire tire and i was on my way. He is about top quality service and not trying to get unnecessary money out of you, when you're coming to afford what you can until you can get the proper services done later. I just revised my review because I checked the tire pressure and discovered that the tech was either too lazy or incompetent to do so. Reallly? I've been a Kauffman customer for over 15 years and they don't even bother to correct my tire pressure when I get their tires rotated? My vehicle happens to call for 10psi more in the rear than the front, so now I have to go to the trouble of correcting the pressures myself since now I have too much in the front tires and not enough in the rear. The experience David G. references sounds awful to live through. My experience, entirely tire-focused, was amazing. I am truly BLOWN AWAY by the service given by Andy (who talked with me on the phone and was looking for me throughout the evening to make sure I'd get in on-time so my fix could happen before they close). Andy was remarkable in efficiency, care, and thoroughness. Air was proactively adjusted on all 4 tires though I'd only procured service for one, and spare was placed properly in it's nest. He even checked the alignment, after I asked, sans 'I have to go home, it's after hours' or 'look, I have other things to do' or 'you're asking too much'. A complete breeze from end-to-end, with price-matching*, a roll-out price decent considering the kind of tire I bought, no upselling, and, a staff who also was lock-step -- courteous, willing to stay after with total joy and efficiency and no attitude or begrudging of it -- and people who seemed to genuinely like their craft, team and customers. I completely forgot, in fact, I was at a mechanic's, the demeanor and professionalism was so high that it was as if I was being waited-on by men in nice slacks gently passing along a vase in a line -- strange image but speaks to the fluid, gentle, well-orchestrated, and elegant service. Thanks, guys, you earned this 5-stars and I look forward to a great price and great service again when the time is right! *Caveat for the value-shoppers out there, Kauffman was a full $30 more for the tire than Dekalb Tire, from whom I bought my full set earlier. This location is close to my place of work and my experience has been great with them. Overall I am happy with their work and their professionalism. I have been there for many scenarios from new tire install to patching tires. Considering the area and volume of work they have I have not had a huge issue with the time they take to do the job. To share some positive experiences: Recently on my way to work my sensor went off indicating the tire pressure was down so I stopped and could see a nail in the tire. Took it immediately to Kaufmann and they patched it in about 45 minutes. Considering they already had 4 people there I think they did it as fast as they could. They have also recently installed 2 new tires on my car after they analyzed and identified that the 2 remaining tires were still in good shape. The dealer did service on the car earlier and they wanted to replace all the tires (even though 1 tire was only 8 months old). read more

The employees are pretty friendly and attentive. I left my vehicle with them to get all four tires replaced and picked it back up hours later with no hassle. They even brought some important maintenance work to my attention. However, when they put my wheels back onto my car, they cross-threaded three lug nuts, creating more work for me to do. I like Kaufmann tires. I've used them exclusively for decades for all my tire needs. If they don't have it, they'll get it. Best tire balancing ever. However, I asked Kaufmann to replace my alternator last month. $500. A few days ago, my voltmeter was showing a lower battery voltage than usual. I took it to Kaufmanns, they said it tested fine, Probably a faulty voltmeter. I was invited to drive it back in if it got any worse. Drive it back in? The next evening I was left stranded on the side of the road. Sunday night wrecker service ($), wrecker service storage charge ($) (dealer isn't open late Sundays), another tow ($) to the dealer the next day, a brand new (not rebuilt!), gold plated, diamond studded, glow in the dark OEM dealer alternator ($$$), dealer labor ($$), a rental car while I wait ($$). Never again. I highly recommend going to Kaufmann for tire needs. I still do. Leave the heavier stuff to the pros. And get NEW parts. read more
