Absolutely awful place. We were bringing a vehicle from NC to New England, called and explained we desperately needed two front tires to move forward, and it was dangerous to drive on the current tires. They assured us they could do the job. We waited several hours when they told us they couldn't do anything, and suggested we drive 1/2 hour away to another place to get the tires changed. By this time it was too late to go somewhere else, so we had to get a hotel for the night. Luckily, we found Mr. Tire who said they could change the tires in the morning which they did, and we made it safely back to New England. Thumbs down to Mavis and thumbs up to Mr. Tire. I went for new front brakes and shocks and struts with bringing my own parts. The only sign posted was the hourly labor rates. $158 per hour and my job took less than 2 hours to complete. When the job was completed I was charged $601.90 I did my research and found By North Carolina law they were required to provide a written statement for the approximate cost of the job over $350 before beginning any work so that I have the i Opportunity to either accept or decline the cost of work. THIS WAS NOT DONE No where are charges posted for any of the work i was having done I TRIED TO CALL CUSTOMER CARE AND THE REGIONAL MR. WILLIAMS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY CONCERNS WITH THE PRICE I HAD TO PAY IT TOOK SEVERAL CALLS JUST TO REACH ON THE PHONE HE NEVER I HAD REACH NUMEROUS BEFORE SPEAKING TO HIM. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I walked in to make a appointment 2 weeks earlier. I made the appointment for 8:30 on a Saturday. I walked in by myself and I had my fiancé waiting on me. The service manager told me he didn't see the invoice in the system and he went to check the back. He came up and was trying to explain how there system works. I do not care, I just want the service done. I simply asked "ok do you have the tires" the service manager looked at me and said "your over thinking it, if you can let me do my job that be great". He walked out to get the tire number. I made my fiancé came in, cause he wasn't gonna talk me like that just cause I'm a female. Service manager came back and changed he's tone quick. Then he had all of my information wrong in the system. My fiancé then asked "do you have the tires" I interrupted and said "no we're over thinking it let him do he's job cause that what he told me". I gave him my keys. I left and drive off and asked him to turn around cause I don't want to do business with someone who treats customers like that. I walked back inside and said we're not doing this, and asked to speak to another manager. The store manager comes out and the service manager stayed behind close doors. Store manager was trying to say that he just had a loss in his family "so he's not all there". There no excuse. The store manager apologized, He then offered to give me a tire for free. I was heated, I wanted to know if they had my tires because neither of them could confirm. I asked if they could bring me the tire to make sure it's the ones I ordered. He brought it back. It's now 9:30AM, I asked them what time I could pick up my car, and asked what time he closed. The store manager said 6, so I said ok I'll be back 5-5:30 to pick it up. I went back at 5, and my car was in the exact zone spot, and my old tires were still on it. THEY DID NOT EVEN TOUCH MY CAR. I walked in and store manager stated "it'll be done right at 6, we had 7 other appointments" . (So basically you put a 12:00 appointment before my 8:30) I walked out walked right back in and demanded my keys back, I'm not wasting another whole hour for my car. The manager said "we'll we agreed 6". I told him no we didn't, my car has been here from 9:30-5, and I'm wasting another hour here, this is ridiculous!" I took my keys and left. If I could give them a half of star I would've. If you're a silver Rock customer beware! They will clear your light tell you the problem is fixed and never submit the claim. This is a problem as Silver Rock does not have a record on your vehicle being looked at so as your miles tic toc away your problem is not fixed. So just avoid NTB at all cost. read more

I had an alignment done there but it was not driving right when I left do I called back and told them. Well they said that it wasn't the alignment that the tires was off balance So I bough it back in for tire balancing. Well it still didn't drive right so I took it back which they claim there is still no problem with the alignment. Needless to say I am buying two front tires because they had excessive outside wear. I am convinced that they don't know what they are doing. And the place is horribly nasty. They should hire some kind of cleaning crew. read more

I would up here unexpectedly yesterday thanks to a blowout on I-40 on my commute from Greensboro to Chapel Hill. I showed up on a tow truck at 8:30 with no appointment and was back on the road before 9:30. The manager in charge (whose name I, sadly, did not catch) pulled a mechanic off of a car that had been dropped off for the day to get my new tire on and get me on my way ASAP. There was no attempt at trying to convince me I needed four new tires instead of just one, no upselling, no fast-talking me in to another service. The tire was pricey, but as I drive a hybrid and was replacing an also pricey low-profile tire, I was ready for that. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. If they just had faster WiFi it would have been perfect. :) read more

They took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get 4 tires mounted and balanced and the front receptionist guy was rude and honestly needs a better outlook on life. His name is Mike He doesn't wear a name tag to keep his name from being known. He's terrible to his employees by yelling at them and blames all the help and other people like venders. I wouldn't recommend taking your vehicle here if you have kids either. The waiting room is not kid friendly and just really needs some life back there. Also If you are in a hurry just stop by and they'll show ya how to slow down in life. read more

Probably the worst place I've been to get anything done to my truck. Not only did I have an appointment but they didn't put me in for it the said I was a random so they didn't finish putting on 4 tires till they closed and I dropped it off in the morning for my appointment at 930. They also scratched my wheels all over plus my tires pressure light and alarm has been on since then, turns out they took my computer based valve stems they gave me some cheap ones without telling me. Good: Had the tires I wanted in stock at a decent price. I could have got them cheaper elsewhere, but NTB's website said they had an appointment open that day. Bad: I guess the appointment means nothing because they kept me waiting around 2 hours before they even put my car on the rack, and then took another hour putting the tires on. Were they done wasting my time? No! They also had to go over my car and find stuff that didn't need fixing to upsell me on. All I asked for was tires, why were you even opening my hood and going through my trunk? Also uncomfortable seats in the waiting area and the wifi was unusable. Avoid. read more

He then asked me about my experience in the field of automotive maintenance. I explained my extensive experience in the industry, and he acted as if I was lying to him. At that point, I knew this was not a place I wanted to work. As I turned to leave, he started to try to explain why my years of automotive and motorcycle experience did not count as experience. In one word...SLOW. We dropped off my husband's work truck to get an oil change. They had just opened and there only about three cars in the parking lot. The guy at the counter told us it would be a few hours. We waited all afternoon for them to call us to pick up the truck. Finally 5:00 rolled around and still nothing. I called to see if we missed their call. Nope they still haven't changed the oil yet. Are you kidding me??? Unless you want to spend all day without your car, I suggest going somewhere else. The people we've dealt with don't seem too interested in their customers or the quality of their work. read more

Convenience: This auto repair center is open 7 days a week until 8pm (weekdays) and until at least 6pm (Sat and Sun). No appointment required. Their turnaround completion time is usually same day or next for most repairs and they let you know if there will be a delay (for obtaining unusual part). 4. Cost: reasonable. As expected for a "large national chain" type of auto service center, the repair prices are much less than auto dealerships (about 25-30% less in my experience) but somewhat higher than the local independent repair shops. They always provide estimates and obtain customer approval prior to making any repairs or changes in previous estimates. Discounts, coupons, and sales are generous and frequent! 5. Selection inventory for intallation of tires, batteries, shocks, other parts and accessories: they offer a large variety of makes and models with a wide price range to suit the needs of your vehicle (and the size of your pocketbook). read more

This shop is by far and away the best repair shop I've ever brought my car to. Every mechanic I've encountered here has been friendly and extremely helpful, especially the service manager and store manager. I was afraid when the old service manager left, who was great to me, things would go downhill. They haven't. They're as good as ever. Every time I go, they make sure to explain all my options and their costs. The work they do is good, too. Once, they sent me next door to the auto parts store with a list of parts I needed to pass inspection, so I wouldn't be overcharged at the shop - they knew I needed to save money and hey didn't have to do this. Another time, after getting some work done, I remembered some clips were missing on my fender guard. The service manager sent a mechanic next door to buy them, and he installed them for free. Shortly after, I needed my front wheels balanced, and when I took it in, they did that for free as well. I've done inspections here successfully multiple times. I can't speak for their speed of service - they take each customer in the order they arrive, so make sure you have some time to wait. Oil changes are probably better to get done at a place that specializes in that, such as Penzoil or Jiffy Lube. There are plenty of those places around that can probably get you in quicker. All in all, I have probably saved hundreds, if not thousands by going here. It's going to be a big disappointment if I ever have to move out of the area. Highly, highly recommended. read more

Went in for a simple oil change... I work nights so I went first thing in the morning when I got off so needless to say I was the first customer in. It took at least an hour and on top of that they brought my air filter in saying I needed a new one, I declined and when I got back in my car and turned the heat on it was making an awkward noise so I checked it & they had put my filter back in wrong. Plenty other choices in the area if you can avoid this place at all costs. I went in for an oil change and was told I needed upper and lower ball joints at a cost of $650 or I would fail my inspection which was due in a month. I declined and a month later went to a different shop because they gave me an estimate over the phone that was $250 lower than NTB. At this second shop their service manager told me I DO NOT need ball joints and as a matter of fact my Truck passed inspection with NO repairs of any kind needed. I will never again let my shadow dawn the door step of this RIP OFF company !!! read more
