My granddaughter is a college student in Banner Elk. She went to two different Mr. Tire service centers which are both located in Boone North Carolina but they are spaced apart by like 10-15 minutes. The first one she called to explain to them that she would be on her way but it was raining so hard that she might be a tad late. Once she called they informed her that her appointment would not be taken at the Mr. Tire on Blowing Rock Rd because they haven't done inspections for a while so she was told to call the other located on Jefferson Rd because that it where they are sending their customers for inspections. This was no problem so afterwards she called the other Mr. Tire to explain how she would be late because of the rain and they informed her that their inspector had called out due to an illness and they were calling people to let them know that they wouldn't be able to be seen. He then informed her that he didn't see her name on their list anyways, which is weird because she has a confirmation email from Mr. Tire. There was definitely some miscommunication between the two places and she somehow got caught up in the cross fire. She was on her way home anyways so I called a place to make an appointment and they said they had an opening today at 4:00 pm. She drove home and went to the place in Burlington NC and they told her that they could not see her due to the fact they had no one in today to do inspections. Mind you it wasn't until afterwards we figured out that all 3 places that we called and set up an appointment with were Mr. Tire. The fact that the ones in Boone and in Burlington are almost 3 hours away from each other and they are all having the same issues. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't know if maybe it is the call centers making the mistakes, but, if it is then they need to speak directly with the in store operators so they are all on the same page. Went to get a simple vehicle inspection. They took over an hour doing a "courtesy checkup" where they tried to get me to buy new tires for $600 and failed my inspection. Charged me $20 for nothing. Took my car up the road to precision auto care for a second opinion, they said they could not see any reason why they would fail my inspection. They were able to help me out and showed me how Mr. Tire was trying to pull a fast one on me. My tires had less than 20k miles on them at the time of the visit. Do not go to this shop unless you like wasting money on things you don't need. read more

wheel bearing issue came straight in off the highway In need of immediate assistance and this was the closest place. I was 8 months pregnant as well. They offered me a flex shopper plan i was approved for $1200 i asked them to do exactly what was needed for the car to return to normal and I would use the $1200 for that. After sitting there from 11am until CLOSE. I left with bad breaks, wheel bearing still not right. Steering still off. no oil change etc. all which I found to be true when the other Mr Tire did inspection. And the guy who had me waiting there for 8 hours. Didnt work there anymore after I found the car was unsafe to drive. They asked that i leave the gboro location and drive the same vehicle back to them in burlington 8 months pregnant to do the work. After that they still said something isnt right w wheel bearing but i would have to come back AGAIN. All while paying $1200 to flex shopper for work that I thought had been done. All I wanted was a refund. But cant get anyone to assist with my issue. Store manager is a joke. read more

Cancel Culture??? Hell yes if it is deserved!!! I stopped at a MR. TIRE to get a last second oil change on the way to the beach. They said my vehicle required synthetic oil which was bullshit #1. When I said nope, never used synthetic they said a basic change was $36.00. I called bullshit #2 and they said it was because oil prices went up today. I had a choice but I didn't have the convenience so I got it done there. THEN when I checked out they said it required a little more oil so the out the door price went up to $40. Oil prices went up 25 cents today....that is $.25 per BARREL!!!!!!!!!! I will NEVER, EVER spend money at a MR. TIRE again nor at any of the other MONRO owned subsidiaries. Brought my jeep in because the air conditioning wasn't getting cold. That was on a Thursday, by Friday they say they still haven't had time to look at it. Saturday I go by and was told they think it was a valve leaking coolant. I told them to fix it.. Monday came was told it was ready, I went to pick it up then discovered it cost almost 400 bucks! I checked the air was cold, drove it home and parked it in the yard, it sat until Friday end of week. I turned the air on, it was right back to warm air again, so basically nothing was fixed, but just ripped a potential repeat customer. My advice done go there unless you can be there to watch the work being done. read more

I am very disappointed in the customer no-service I've received at Mr. Tire. When I bought my tires here, things went pretty smoothly, but after they made the sale, things changed! They offer "free tire rotation" for tires purchased from Mr. Tire. I was due for my first time rotation so I called during the week and asked to make an appointment for a tire rotation on Saturday, when they are open from 7am-7pm. I was told "you don't need an appointment for a rotation, come on in and we'll take care of you." So I asked "I was concerned that Saturday might be your busy day?" so they repeated "it's just a tire rotation, bring it in and we'll take care of you." wow! That's great I thought. Especially on a weekend when most places are slammed. So on Saturday morning I got up and drove 20 minutes to Mr. Tire. I arrived at 11 am. They advertise that they are open until 7pm on Saturday, so it's not like I showed up at closing time! There were few cars in the parking lot so I'm thinking maybe they're not so busy. I went inside and there were two men sitting behind the counter - no customers in sight. I explained that I had purchased my tires here and I would like to get them rotated. "We're all booked up for today. I can make you an appointment for Monday. " I explained that I had called during the week and tried to make an appointment for Saturday - today - and was told I didn't need one. "We're all booked up" he repeated. I told him that I had to work during the week and that was why I called to make an appointment for Saturday. "There is nothing I can do about it." No apology, no "I'm sorry", just a simple "too bad". It was so refreshing to deal with an honest auto service provider. We were told by the local dealer that we needed to replace a damaged tire. They didn't have the specific tire in stock so I brought the car to Mr. Tire. Mark inspected the tires and told us he couldn't just replace one tire because of the AWD. At that point, I pessimistically thought he was going to up sell us to change all 4 tires, but I was pleasantly surprised when he also said that that the damage to the tire did not require it to be changed. I stopped by to get a new battery one afternoon since my car wouldn't crank regularly. The store owner assessed my current battery and was able to determine that I still had a warranty on my battery from the dealership that installed one about 1.5 years ago. He suggested that I not purchase a new battery from Mr. Tire, but instead directed me to the dealership where I received a battery for free. He passed up a $140 quick sale. I stopped going to the Tire Center of Burlington to try Mr. Tire. They have good coupons and the Mgr., Mark is very nice. However, They nit-pick your car to the inth degree to fine something--anything! A simple oil change/tire rotation takes almost 2 hours; and that's when you get there before they open. The waiting area is dirty, and there was no coffee/cups. They really nice people to deal with, that's why I gave 2 stars. The repairs seem to be fine, but the wait time is insane!!! This business opens at 7:30, but they don't start work until 8:00. They seem to spend more time trying to find something wrong with your vehicle than fixing the issue that you came in for. To be totally fair, there is no pressure, but you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time, and money. read more

Poor service. Tried to take a vehicle in for an assessment, but when they didn't get it done they gave us the run around.

NOVEMBER 4 2016 I took a set of 4 Goodyear tires that I purchased online to this Mr. Tire center to have them installed, balanced, and a 4 wheel alignment done. I arrived at 5:00 pm and was out the door by 5:44 pm. I thought this was rather quick so I asked the employee if he was sure that the alignment was done too. He stated yes and I left. Now 4 months later my tires on the front of the car are worn down to the steel belts. The way my tires are worn indicates too much toe-in. Thinking back i never received a print out of my corrected alignment. So im left to believe the alignment was INTENTIONALLY done to wear my tires out quickly because i purchased them online and the employee didnt get comission off of them. I have contacted other tire centers and they say that 44 minutes is not enough time to perform a dismount, mount, balance, and a 4 wheel alignment. Mr. Tire corporate states that there is no proof that they didnt do it. Their reason for not providing me with a printout is because the printer was down. Right. So here i am 4 months later in the same boat as before...unsafe tires on my car...and out $440. Their resolution is for me to take it and have an alignment done and they "will help me out with it" . I dont make a lot of money and this was already a big investment for me. How do they expect me to do it again? read more
