I came to have tires replaced. What I was originally quoted changed. I accepted the new cost. They set the alignment course had not been factored when I was told my car was ready, my son and I got in the car a service rep came out and said "Oh" I forgot to do your alignment. Therefore there was no QA to confirm everything was done. I consider this unacceptable. read more

I needed new tires so my guy friend set up an appointment for me at Mavis Tires in Concord. I arrived and gave the guy at the register my order number. He was personable & professional. I sat in the waiting area while my car was being serviced. The wait was eventful because a fire alarm went off & I jetted out of there! The firetruck arrived in less than five minutes. The clerk explained that there is trouble with the system which causes a false alarm. About two and a half hours into my wait I was told that my car would be ready soon. The mechanic test drove my car because 1 tire indicated that I had low tire pressure. I went ahead and paid the invoice while I waited. I inquired about a warranty in which the clerk told me that it was extra but he never quoted me a price - he said that Goodyear has a year warranty. When the mechanic returned with my vehicle both he and the inside clerk were inspecting the tire. The mechanic pulled my car around as if it was ready. The clerk explained that a sensor was showing the tire pressure to be low but the pressure was in fact correct. He said that I could bring the car back for service. What???? Almost $700 spent & something isn't working properly? I need this to be fixed today because I had no sensor problems when I drove the car to the shop. When my receipt was printed I noticed that my guy friends name was on it and not mine. I advised that since payment could not be taken over the phone directly from my ever so generous friend that I needed my name on my receipt. A phone call was made and then the correct receipt was reprinted. The clerk said that they would repair the sensor free of charge. I was feeling a bit uneasy but I went back to the seating area to wait for the repair. 3 hours later - and I'm rolling away. Lucky for me food options were in the same parking lot! Update: As I'm rideshare driving on the highway my car begins shaking and so does my steering wheel. This is not a bad review so hang in here to see how the problem was fully resolved. I was greeted by two ladies at the front when I walked in. I frantically told them about my issue. I am not excited about having to return but I want the problem fixed fully before I leave. Angie, (Manager) walked outside with me to look at my tires. She spoke car language and explained that my front tires needed to be weighted. She is extremely genuine and reassured me that they would correct the problem. I felt relieved when greeted by female employees. Angie, went on to explain that she has new employees. I definitely understand that there cam be human error in anything. I just need to feel safe on the road. Angie sold me a warranty at a discounted price and elaborated on other services that are offered through Mavis. I am completely satisfied with the customer service and follow up that I received from Angie! I haven't had any other problems with my tires. read more

My experience with Mavis tire and brakes was definitely bad. Mavis tire and brakes seems like they are might be competent to do basic fixes on common cars (it was not my experience), but when faced with a problem that is difficult to solve (one that they advertise they can do) they dropped the ball on multiple occasions. Originally I took my car in on a Thursday to get my tires replaced, aligned, and balanced. The first issue I had was how long it took for Mavis to replace my tires. I had an appointment for 4pm and I didn't leave the shop until 7pm, my brother happened to be getting his tires replaced the same day and he only waited for 45 minutes. While this can be frustrating it didn't bother me that much. They were not able to align my tires, because my passenger side strut was broken. After talking with the technician I decided to take my car in the next day to get it replaced. The same evening the man working at the front counter quoted me what the labor and parts would be, so I made my reservation and let him know. On Friday I took my car in around 3:30 to have them replace the strut. I went to check in and they had not yet ordered the part that they needed to replace. I ended up waiting there for another couple of hours only for the part to NOT arrive and they asked me to leave it overnight (30 minutes before they close) and I had to figure how to get home. They had also recommended that I replace my passenger side axles since mine was leaking grease. That part wasn't going to arrive till Saturday morning so I figured it would be fine since the other part was going to arrive late. On Saturday I decided to stop by and check on the status of my vehicle since it was supposed to be fixed on Saturday. I went in and they told me that they needed to order an extra part that they were having trouble finding. The person working the front desk went in the back and got on the phone and found the part in about ten minutes. This was disappointing for two reasons 1. They weren't really looking as it only took ten minutes on the phone to find the part 2. They only decided to order it when I was there in person, they were not being proactive to help me After he ordered the part he said that it was going to arrive Monday morning and that he was going to arrange for someone to call me when it was done. I decided to stop by after work on Monday and see the status of my vehicle since it was only a couple minutes out of my way. When I had arrived around 2:30-3:00ish the part had not arrived and I was told that when they finish it they would call me to let me know. On Tuesday I did the same thing and stopped by after work to see if it was finally done. The part had arrived and they had installed everything except the wheel onto the car (only had to put the lug nuts back on) and it was ready to go. I went back home and got my brother and we picked up my car. Once I started driving the car I was noticing it was shifting into 2nd gear, skipping 1st gear, I was going to drive home, but once I left the gas station I stopped at my car wouldn't shift into any gear leaving me with an undriveable car. After that I had to call a tow truck and I took it to a different mechanic to get it fixed. Overall I have had a very negative experience with Mavis Tire and Brakes. The people who work there were nice to me when I was there, but they were not proactive in trying to fix the problem unless I showed up in person. This shows a lack of respect for the customer as I was without the use of my car for several days and when I got it back it was undriveable. I would not recommend them to anyone as they were nice but mostly incompetent and not worth using. read more

Exceptional service and prices. I had an emergency flat tire and was recommended to stop here. The gentleman who helped me called the warehouse to see if they had my tires in stock and he actually drove in his personal vehicle to pick up the tires before the warehouse closed. I have a compact car with small rims so it cost $78 per tire (they only sell new tires), which is a steal. It was an additional $22 to cover both tires in case of screw punctures. These are the best prices I've found anywhere ! Plus, Mavis is located right beside a Taco Bell, Subway, Papa John's, Waffle House, and coffee shop so it's less than a minute walk in case you'd like to eat something while you wait. The facility itself is also clean and well kept. I live in a Charlotte but I'd come back to Concord just to patronize this business. I'm sold. read more

Came to the Concord location after having a bad experience in Highland Creek. Rotors on front started shaking after a few months. Was under warranty so they agreed to replace the front rotors, but they charged me the labor. Later I find out that i should not have been charged if the product was under warranty. Call store on 5/19/21. Manager, Angie, never called me back. I followed up on 5/21/21. She said I was only charge $200 labor for all that work. Well, the rework was not my fault and your warranty is 12 months or 12,000 miles on the labor. I am in the process of following up with the regional Manager (Dan). One thing Angie (Concord Store Manager) said that I thought was inappropriate- she said, if we didn't charge labor for warranty items, then people would be coming in getting free brakes and rotors under warranty. Huh! What does that have to do with me. I felt insulted as if by expressing my concern about the rotors was somehow taking advantage of the shop and it insinuates that the labor charge is there to keep people honest. I am very patient and do not normally post complaints publicly. In this case I have had several bad experiences with Mavis Concord and Highland Creek. I've basically had to get almost everything redone within a year. If it seems like a bargain, then I guess you get what you pay for. Then we called the other Mavis Tire on the Northside (they were closer to where we were) they couldn't handle it?? I had an unusual request which was to have someone mount a lawnmower tire on a wheel. Several places said they're too small for their machines. They offered little help. I remembered seeing the Mavis Tire store on Concord Parkway and decided calling them even though they were outside my desired area. Steve was a great help and said he would be happy to do that for me as long as I could supply the tire (they don't sell them). It took only 5 minutes and he charged almost nothing!!
