I had a great experience when I was buying new tires but when I tried to get a TPMS sensor and a tire rotation on a different vehicle it went bad! I had tires replaced on Friday an asked about getting a TPMS sensor change and tire rotation on a different vehicle that I had purchased tires from Mavis and I was told to be there on Sunday at 9 am. I was there about 8;45am and Zack told me it would be about a four hour wait because they were busy. I told Zach that he told me to be there at 9 AM and he asked me if I scheduled an appointmen? I told him that he is the one that told me to be there Sunday at 9 AM. I left I do not plan to do business with them after buying my last five sets of tires from Mavis. I came to find out that I got a nail through my tire and air was leaking not super fast but I needed to get it fixed. My dad looked around and came across this place. We were able to get it a day later, we had a movie to get to so they asked if they could fix it and then we could come back by and pick it up. The nail was then in the middle of the tire so that was the best place for it. The service was amazing and I have had no issues since then. For all your tire issues go here their prices are very good. The only thing is to follow the map on Google. It takes you on a crazy ride, to no place. read more

Went for an oil change. They claimed I needed 4 new tires and back brakes. I was skeptical, so I went to another tire place where I know the guys. Nope... didn't need anything. I don't know if it's a quota being met or what, but in my book it is just dishonesty to tell people they need work when they don't. My tires weren't new and had some wear, but I didn't need new ones yet by far. I imagine many people are being duped and don't check. read more

I took my car in to have all 4 tires changed on 2/14/25. I had a 10:00am appointment, and they took my car back at 9:45 since I was early. When they were done, they brought out my car. I did a walk around and found all 4 of my rims were damaged. I know I had 1 little scratch on 1 rim that was there when I purchased the car, but they did more to it, plus the other 3. When it told to the staff that my rims were damaged in the shop, I was basically called a liar and was told it was like that when it came in. I told him there was NO WAY my rims looked like that. I was told they would review shop camera and call that following Monday. Never happened! My husband went in and he was lied to about everything calling regional manager. I still have not heard anything from this shop or any manager about why my rims were damaged as bad as they were. I would not recommend going! read more

There is no management structure or service compliance set for this location. I had a 10:00 appointment and they did not bring my vehicle back until 11:25. Piss poor attitudes with most of the workers. Shouldn't take 4 hours to do an oil change and tire rotation and tire sensor replacement. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I made an appointment for 2 tires at 1pm. At 2:45pm I get an update letting me know that they were having difficulty with my valve stems and could only get one off so far. I asked "How much longer it would be?" They said about 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes later they come to me saying I need a 4 wheel alignment. I ask "How long will that take?" The guy says "10 minutes." Really!? 10 minutes!? It took them 2 hours for 2 tires and it's going to take them 10 minutes for a 4 wheel alignment? Now I'm a business owner myself and the most important part of a retail business is their customers!! They never said "How can we make this right?" or "We're sorry for the delay." All I got were excuses and an attitude. As a business own, they should also realize that bad service echos longer and louder than good. I will NEVER return and will NOT recommend them. p.s. I went in to have AC work done on my vehicle. I had to go in on two separate occasions because the first time the issue seem to be fixed and it worked for less than a week, but the AC was still not fixed. I brought it in a second time and they looked at it for days and Tell me I would need to spend at least another $500 after spending almost 1800. I should've listened to the reviews before taking my vehicle to this place. I guess I will have to do the remaining work to get my AC working again when it should've been Fixed in the first place. Especially after spending so much money and not having a vehicle for 4 to 5 days between the two visits. I would not recommend this place. read more

Overall poor experience. Won't take our other cars there. The call center was so excited about selling some tires they forgot to include an alignment as part of the appointment. I know I mentioned it because I made sure he knew it was a 4-wheel drive vehicle. April at the store on Rivers Rd in SC was awesome, even though there was little she could do, she had a terrific attitude and tried really hard to make it work somehow. She even tried to include other locations nearby. They balked at the idea of bringing the tires that were already paid for to their location for installation. She ultimately got someone to get me in for an alignment but the time wasn't going to work. I did get the tires & balancing but no alignment. The car now shakes on the highway and I'll have to go back to get that issue sorted. It's like being married to someone you didn't even want to date. read more

I was in a pinch where I needed a tire replaced. I had a slow leak due to a nail that was right in my tread, but because it's a run-flat nobody would touch it to put a patch into it. I changed the oil a couple days back and (my speculation) raising it onto jack stands probably took the weight of the car off the wheels, allowing the nail to shift. I noticed the tire pressure had decreased really quickly, that instead of needing a top-off every 3-4 days, it was 3-4 hours later and I'm already more than a few PSI off. This was Saturday evening, who is going to be open on Sunday? Well thank goodness Mavis was. The big question is if they would have a tire that's my size, ready and available for sale? I guess a bigger question is if I can even get a slot tomorrow? Fortunately the answer to both were 'yes'. I gave this experience 5 stars for a few reasons. 1. The website was helpful in telling me what tire sizes were in their inventory and which were not. 2. The website was also programmed well so that it was able to tell me available slots for Sunday. An ideal time would have been first thing in the morning, but that wasn't the case and I just took the first available time. 3. Their desk guy, Blake, was patient and straight-up with me and understanding of my needs (just give me a tire that will fit, even closely, I don't care if it's a cheap-o). Had I seen the negative reviews here, I may have thought twice. However, I didn't see any of them until now. But given that the crew just took off the bad tire, got out the new one, put it on, balanced it, and I was out of there, it was pretty much right to expectation. The pricing estimate on the web was accurate compared to the number they gave me in person. The time estimation was a little off, he estimated about 30 minutes and it took about an hour. I do feel bad for the people who had lousy experiences, I hope that Mavis had turned the corner from those days. But I can say for sure that this experience was a positive one. read more

So I purchased 1 tire via online with them due to a blowout on the hwy. I selected the store nearest me for the installatio. I wasn't happy they charged me a $25 deposit. Never paid a deposit to ANY other tire companies before. Then their system offered days and times to schedule the installation so I pick one on my day off. shortly I receive a email telling me my reservation has been confirmed. live in a rural area about 1 hour away. I drove to the store for the appointment and was there 30 minutes and they call me up to the counter and tell me oh your tire isn't here yet! It won't be here for 2 more days!!! So 2.5 hours and a ruined day off for an appointment that was confirmed mind you and I'm not happy! I told the guy how's that when your store confirmed this appointmen? It's now called Mavis tire . Some of same employees some new. It's my second time here since switch. The place is clean . There is a restaurant next door & across the street . The wait can be long best to call ahead & or take advantage of drop off key box They are friendly . They offer 6 month interest free synchrony cards. Can be used nationwide at any of the Mavis locations. Got a lifetime warranty on back brakes pads which is great . As long as you make an appt . & aren't having to wait if it's extensive like having many things done brakes alignment shocks etc otherwise they are pretty fast with basic tire repair . They have a separate waiting area with water & tv & magazines . May as snack Machine later ? But there are places to eat close by . read more

Went to the Powdersville SC store for an oil change and tire rotation/balance. I was told that I did not need to balance the tires at this time but they would do the rotation. I watched the technician perform the oil change and noticed they did not do the rotation. I was told by the, who I assume was the store manager that since the tire tread was better (deeper tread depth) on the rears when compared to the front the tires and I did not need rotation. THIS IS THE WHOLE REASON TO DO A ROTATION. Especially with a front wheel drive cars the fronts wear out quicker than the rears and you have a rotation performed to balance out the wear. The manager told me you want to keep the 'better' ones on the rear for traction which is ludicrous. When I got to my car, I saw an oily smear on the outside of the door and a large oil stain on the inside of the door. I have since noticed that the mileage was not entered on the invoice, which should be standard on all invoices from a tire store. The entire experience was unacceptable. read more

What is the purpose of making an appointment? On a Thursday I made an appointment for a tire rotation, alignment, and slow leak in one tire for my work truck. Made it for 9 am the following Tuesday -- in person at the store. I was told to allow at least 1.5 hours. It's 10:30 am and my truck hasn't even moved from wher it was parked. I made an appointment online for tires about four months ago, same location (Lexington SC). Was FOUR HOURS before they got to it. I was told there was an issue with coordinating store and online appointments. So I walked in and made the appointment this time. I understand some lag between appointment time and starting wirk, but these people are inept! I'm missing work because of this! Main reason I went with them wasbecause I could MAKE AN APPOINTMENT !!! I went here as I had a very loud screeching and grinding with my brakes on the right side on my 2015 Ford F-150. I didn't see that the brakes needed replaced so I was very worried on what it could be. I dropped my truck off and an hour later it was ready for me. Apparently there was a rock that got stuck and was grinding against my rotor. They pulled it all off to make sure it was all clear and no problems. When I got there to pick up my vehicle, they told me there was no charge whatsoever. I was so thankful! They didn't try to take advantage of the fact of being a female. At the very least I expected a labor bill, but nothing. I will be back if I have any issues. Their customer service was great and they were so nice and understanding. The white bald head guy that claims to be a manager took stuff off my car that I didn't ask for and was trying to get me to spend extra $100 on some lug nuts . I asked why would he take stuff off my car that wasn't asked for he insisted on doing stuff to my car and I insisted that I just came here for a oil change and that I have a mechanic that works on my car but he still insisted and made me feel uncomfortable by yelling at me . Me being a female teenager I would not recommend no women or teen to go by themselves because they will take advantage of you to make you spend more money then what's needed. I would not recommend this tire place because it does not support the military. We were traveling on I 20 west and blew a tire. We were coming from BWI after traveling from Germany and we had about an hour left to our destination. We were towed to the nearest Mavis and we had spent 2 hours on the side of the road waiting for the tow. We were inform that it would be a couple of hours for them to put our spare on the rental vehicle. THANKFULLY the gentlemen from the towing company helped my husband fixed the tire in 15 minutes. Now that is customer service and going the extra mile for your customer. You can definitely use this company but expect long wait times and definitely don't have an emergency!! I've gone to this location for a while for a variety of services. Sometimes for an oil change, the wait isn't too bad. You can't make an appointment, it's just first come, first served. I've even had some bad experiences there too. Like the time they rotated the tires and didn't tighten one enough and it fell off just down the street from the store. Luckily it didn't hurt anything on the car and there were no accidents involved. Today, however, will be the last time I visit there. I took my car in for an oil change. They said it would be a bit of a wait. Two hours? Yeah, about that they said. Two hours and 45 minutes later I call back. After being on hold for 6 minutes they told me there were still two vehicles ahead of me and they hadn't even started on my car yet. Sorry, I think it's unacceptable to wait 3-4 hours for an oil change. read more

I'm not even sure if this is worth writing because it doesn't look like they get back to their unhappy customers, but I've been thinking of what I could do and this really seems like the only option. I needed new tires bad, they were bald as all get out. Scheduled my appointment and got everything looked at and was told I'd need new tire rods! Originally I was quoted around $400 for the tires and ended up paying $600 MORE for new inner and outer tire rods. I was totally fine with that considering that was all that was wrong with my vehicle just so it'd last me a while longer before I need a new one. I walked out of there happy as my car ran great, brought it in next day to have torque checked, again everything's fine. Later that night as I was driving I started hearing a clicking noise from the front of my tires. I wasn't able to bring it back in until a couple weeks later because I work full time and fend for myself with a pretty busy schedule. When I brought it back in they took me to the back and showed me where my ball joints were "finally worn" as if it wasn't making the sound right after I got the work done on my car, as if they hadn't told me they checked all the ball joints and everything else that goes hand in hand with my tires. I was told they were fine and now they're "finally worn." They quoted me for another $500 something to get the work done. The original work had already put me in a hole and I cannot afford more work on my old used car. I explained that to the guy up front and he was very blunt and honest with me which I can appreciate, however I feel that there's no reason this couldn't have been resolved considering the sound literally started two days after getting my tire rods fixed and told that the ball joints were checked and fine! The labor charged at this place is ridiculous as you'll pay more for that than you do the work itself. Overall the people are very nice here but I'm so upset even weeks later still with how this was handled. I can't afford to pull money out of thin air for something that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. read more

I have been a customer of Frank's for several years, and have bought at least four sets of tires from them. After my experience yesterday and today, I will be using a different tire retailer in the future. First, my existing tires were less than four years old with plenty of tread left, but were showing signs of dry rot and cracking, and even tread separation at one place on the tire. I asked them to look into any possible pro-rated warranty credit since the tires have a 5 year and 50,000 mile warranty. The gave the tire a cursory glance and told me it was a discontinued tire and they would not warranty the tire. Don't BS me. The tire manufacturer is still in business and the warranty should be valid. Frank's was not willing to pursue the matter any further. Against my better judgment, I went ahead and had them order a set of tires for me. The tires I ordered were sized to fit a different set of wheels than were currently on the car. On a whim, I had a quote prepared from Costco for the same tires. They came in $60 less WITH a road hazard warranty. Despite their sign saying, "We will not be undersold on XXX brand tires!", they refused to match the price because the tires from Costco "are not available to the general public" because of the membership requirement. When they arrived, I dropped the wheels off to have them mounted and balanced. Frank's was to call me when they were ready and they had a space available to swap them onto the car. When I arrived, I ended up waiting nearly an hour and a half for what should have taken 15-20 minutes to complete. This morning, I noticed that the rear tires were installed backwards (or on the wrong side of the car as per the markings on the sidewall). I called to see how fast they could put my car on a lift and swap them, but was told that they were very busy and I might have to wait a while for them to correct their mistake (again, a five to ten minute task). This entire experience has turned me off to Frank's. They have lost my business. read more

This place is amazing I had a problem with my car for a while where it would make a weird noise when I would drive. I took it to many places and no one could figure it out. Eventually my rotors went out so I brought it here. They replaced the rotors and also noticed that struts were out which was the problem no one else could figure out. They gave me many discounts and worked especially hard when they heard I was a veteran. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more
