Do not recommend unless you would like to waste your whole day to balance 4 tires! Had an appointment at 11am to balance 4 tires on a sedan. Check-in person said it wouldn't be long, how wrong was he. My car was brought in 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, thinking it wouldn't be long, decided to wait it out. Well after FOUR hours, a manager finally shows up, just to be told that the guy who worked on my car (my car was still in the bay, by the way) says it finished 30 minutes prior but didn't tell anyone, update the computer system, or take the car out of the bay. Manager apologized and rectified the situation with a discount. Although the manager was sympathetic, I value my time more. 1 star read more

am mortified by the unprofessional experience i i was forced to endure at thiis hack factory!! i was quoted one price on the phone and then the manager attempts to add another $150.00 plus to the bill!!! im told that i can wait for the car which turned into 3.5 hours !!!the tech was disgusting!! dirty, lazy, and grossly overweight ! took zero measures to protect my interior from his filth!!!!the techs were all bad mouthing each-other it was a horrible-situation !! after 3.5 hours i lert and to my horror the alignment was not accurate !!! i returned and was told it woukd be 30-35 min wait for them to "do it correctly " and after one hour they werent close to assisting me which is why i demanded a refund for this service !!! dont bother with this place !! read more

Needed a new tire immediately . Called a few tire shops but Mavis stood out for price and quality recommendations for the tire. There was no high pressure sales. The customer service representative was pleasant, and professional and gave me options for many all season tires that they had in stock. No appointment was needed. Short 5 minute wait and the tire was mounted and balanced in less than an hour. Would highly recommend Mavis. read more

Thanks Mavvis in Plaistow NH. Your unqualified technician knocked a wheel weight off that landed between the studs. He then somehow didn't feel it when he put my wheel on. I pulled a trailer from NH to AL like this then made a trip from AL to NC and back like this. I was about to make a trip from AL back to NH when I noticed a broken wheel stud. When I put a torque wrench on the others 2 more broke with ease. I'm lucky I didn't lose the wheel on the highway. I replaced all 8 wheel studs to be safe and I had to grind down my now bent wheel in order to get the wheel to sit flush. read more

I went to mavis tire & brakes ( Plaistow, NH ) to have a flat tire repaired. I was charged $20 & and the work took about 1.5 hours. The next day the tire was flat again so returned to Mavis. They refused to do any more with the tire But as I found out they never did anything to it. And was told I needed 2 new tires or risk damage to my cars transmission. I Took my car to an honest outfit and the problem tire was repaired free of charge in 10 minutes. Lesson learned- Avoid Mavis tire & brakes like the Plague unless you like getting ripped off and lied to. read more

Both gentlemen in the store were friendly and attentive. I had to replace the breaks of my truck. I compared prices with multiple places around the area, and they gave me the best deal. After installing the breaks the gentleman who handed me the keys told me to drive the car and if it wasn't to my standards, not to hesitate to bring it back. I had my tires put on here and asked for an alignment. They called to let me know that my car needed more work and they could not complete the alignment due to busted sway bar. I decided to bring my car back to the dealership as it is still covered by warranty. The dealer let me know the car is in great condition and there was no issues with what Mavis was seeing. read more

We've had service done at this location before and had no issues when we called and got our estimate. We were price shopping and explained this to the clerk. We were told no problem that the price quote is saved with our profile through Mavis. When we called back, there was no recollection of our conversation, no price quotes, no memory that we ever talked. And, yes we spoke with someone at the location, not a call center. We got a new quote, about 100 dollars more, and things seemed fishy. We called the Nashua location, and guess what? Nashua has our price quotes from Plaistow, and the new higher quotes that were just added. We asked them what was the deal here? The Plaistow location seems to be a bit shady now since we were there last. We decided to get service at the Nashua location. Would not recommend the Plaistow location, you will more than likely be pressured into work you don't need done at an inflated cost. Bad location. So I had posted and earlier review of this location after a horrible experience 2 times in a row. The area manager reached out after I had gotten better assistance from the Everett location then I did the area manager which is pretty sad. Area manager was apologizing for the experience and saying he already took action and gave the new employee his last warning which says incidents had happened before. So after apologizing and going through the motions and taking my time to talk to him after playing phone tag for a week , he says give me your email I'm going to give you a voucher to use at any location if you don't want to goto Plaistow , NH. I said ok thank you and text him my email. Text him what he asked and this manager Eddie has not done anything he said he would and has even text back I'll call you later twice. Finally he just stopped replying. I text him maybe 3 times and finally just sent a text saying I guess you're not following through with anything bs you said on the phone. Obviously if a area manager doesn't do anything he says then what's the chances are that he took care of the employee issue. Chances are slim to none because he could careless about the customer experience that happened. So if upper manager treats customers like this that obviously filters down into the work place employees. Clearly the issue isn't the employee it's his area manager Eddie from this experience. I wouldn't have gone back to Plaistow location even with the gift card but I would've tried somewhere else and given a chance to correct the issue. This area manager obviously doesn't believe in customer service. I'm a fleet leaser from enterprise and I will not bring any of the 6 cars I lease back to mavis and told my fleet manager at enterprise id never use mavis again. WATCH OUT, this store installed a brand new tire on my cracked rim which did not fix the slow leak that I had. later on I could hear air escaping from the brand new tire that they installed.I had to take my car to another more professionally skilled shop who identified the crack in the rim immediately and said that was low quality work that Mavis did. And if that wasn't enough I was supposed to have an alignment done at the same time. But I was told that the alignment guy conveniently "hurt his back" and could not do it as I was the last customer there that day. This was my first time coming to this store and the service that they offered me was DISGRACEFUL. BE CAREFUL, this bad service could happen to you also. read more

I called and made an appt to get my windshield wipers fixed. Guy that answered the phone says yes we can fix them. I drive up there and I walk in and the guy tells me it's going to be about 3 hours. After I made an appt. Ever since this company bought NTB they suck! Service is nothing like it used to be. I go in to have my oil changed and the guy comes out and says there's NO oil in my car and he will not do the oil change! Nuts right? So I go down the street and there is oil in the car and I got it done no problem. So needless to say they tell me today they don't fix windshield wipers. I don't recommend this place. Without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever encountered. We bought a new tire there that blew out after 5 day when simply driving down the highway. When I informed the store manager that he was selling a product that was potentially unsafe and dangerous - he stated that was "my problem." I was shocked and said I would like to speak to the district manager about this concern. The store manager then said he "didn't know his bosses name" and that I could "call HR and find him." I have never had so much difficulty with the company in my life. I originally went to their Salem New Hampshire location and I had to go back three times because when they replaced my tires they messed up my computer system that monitors my tire pressure. Then I decided I was done with the sound New Hampshire store and went to the Plaistow store twice and once again they were unable to fix the problem that they caused and now I have to go to the Honda dealership and pay additional money for the problem that they caused. So basically, internal a.m. to go to a Mavis send you five times and the problem still wasn't solved and they just told me there's nothing they can do. First time I brought my vehicle there for breaks they forgot to put the bolts back in the calipers. This time I took it to have shocks and struts installed. About a week later I find a lug nut missing, bought new ones and found all but my locking one loose. Then another week goes by and I hear a rattle in the front end and my steering is stiff and sticking. Take to a real mechanic and he takes the wheel off to find my tie rod end was beat with a hammer and the knuckle cracked. I'm lucky it didn't let go while driving. What idiot with a hammer beats on a tie rod to get a shock and strut in? A moron who doesnt want to do the work of disassembling. Or someone who doesn't care. Stay away from this plaistow store if you value your life and that of your kids. I'll be fighting this all the way. Stay far away this shop!!! read more

I took my car to this same location Store # 1160 on 05/23/24 for which i had an appointment for an oil change and to check my brake and was told i needed front pads and rotors. After they were done replacing them they took it for a ride to make sure everything was ok and i was given my keys and left i was on the highway and had to brake and my car was shaking so bad. So i call your call center and was told to bring the car back on 05/24/24 Order Number: 35902 So i had to take time off of work on 05/24/24 to go back to see why my car was shaking and i was told the calipers needed to be replaced and it would cost $388.98 . what i dont understand is why this shaking was not detected the night before when they took the car for a ride to make sure everything was done right cause they should have felt the shaking but i was told it would be $484.02 and sent on my way. So i was sent on my way with bad brakes after they replace the pads and rotors which when i returned in 05/24/24 i was told the new rotors were warped. i feel because of your negligence I to take 4 hours off my job to go back on 05/24/24 and had to drive a car that the brakes could have completely failed and because of that i will never come back and I will never refer anyone to you. I do know my appointment on 05.23.24 was late and i feel the the person who worked on my car just wanted to go home . So they should have told me the full brake job(pads rotors and calipers) was time consuming and needed to be done another day but they never did that. i feel you will do anything to make a dollar. read more

I give one star, only because I can't give zero. We ordered a set of tires for our Chevrolet Silverado. That's where the problems started. At first, everything seemed good. We weren't able to pick it up that day, so I stoped by and paid and we picked it up the next morning. When I got home, I discovered that one of the tires was wrong! I had ordered load range E tires, but one of the tires was a load range C. We tow with this truck, and an error like this could have been catastrophic! I called them and was informed that someone else had ordered the same tires but in load range C, but nobody had noticed the difference. I dropped the truck back off (had stuff to do, couldn't wait). The manager apologized and offered us a free oil change for our trouble. My wife, in her car (Volkswagen Tiguan), dropped my daughter and myself off at an event, but on the way the car alerted us to a low oil level. I checked the level, and it was low but still ok. The car was due for an oil change anyway. So I called the store and asked if we could do the free offered oil change on that instead of the truck. They said sure and now that the truck was done, my wife went and swapped them out. A few hours later, when she came to pick my daughter and myself up, I called Mavis to check on the car and to have them leave the keys in it (we weren't going to make it back there before they closed). I was informed they had a problem. Volkswagen. Uses a special tool for the oil drain plug, that apparently comes with each car. They didn't have the tool, so they rummaged through our car looking for it, but no luck. They asked us if we had it or knew where it was, but for hours, they never tried to call us and let us know there was an issue. I told them we just needed that car back and to leave the keys in it and we would be back for it later. When we finally were able to get to the car, we discovered that the key was NOT in the car, and had to go back home to get the spare key, and come back. I called in the morning and talked to the manager, and was told he hadn't been informed we were picking up the car and he had the key in the office. He apologized about not being able to do the oil change because of not having the tool and was going to look into where to get one so they could do it. We have never had an issue taking it anywhere for this. For the heck of it, I looked up the tool. It's available at all three auto parts stores located within 1/10 of a mile from them, one being next door. When my wife went to Midas next door a couple of days later to get the oil change done, she went into Mavis with out 8 year old daughter to pick up our key. They had all to doors open, and were blasting music using profanities- f***, p***y, d***. I understand the shop mentality, but this is a place of business. We will NEVER go there again for anything. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! My main regret is not checking Yelp first. I brought my car in to get the cambers reset and an alignment done. The guy on the phone said yes they could do Mercedes cambers. They quoted me $99. I ended up paying $164. After I paid I asked for a printout out and learned that nothing was done. So I paid $164 for NOTHING. They said they'll do it so after another hour I got my car and it immediately veered very hard to the right. So not only did they almost do nothing (which I kind of wished was the case), they made my car WORSE! I saw that the Seabrook Mavis had better reviews and went to talk to that guy. He said Mavis does not have the equipment to do Mercedes' cambers. So the plaistow mavis lied and stole my money. I am going to fight this and get a full refund. And I may sue Mavis for fraud. This company will go out of business soon with the shit they are pulling. Always ask for a printout with the metrics and ask them to explain what they did! I was turning into a Tesla charging station and the curb was hidden so I inadvertently hit the curb tore open about an inch of sidewall and nicked the rim. I thought I might need to replace the tire so I made an appointment with Mavis. A large strapping dude who identified as an owner looked at the tire and carefully explained that the tire simply needed some glue to glue back the small flap. He explained why a new tire was unnecessary and how a tire is constructed. I wanted to pay for his diagnosis and opinion but he refused to take payment. read more

I was told they don't have the tools to replace two axle shaft u joints. The axle shafts were not even in the vehicle I pulled them out and didn't have a torch at my house to hear them up enough to remove them. Will never come to a shop that turns away an easy job like installing front axle shaft u joints. read more
