I was a little apprehensive about moonshine but I'm glad we went in and checked it out. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. You can do moonshine tastings or they have a bar where you can order cocktails that are made with their moonshine. They make all of their moonshine in house (you can see their distillery). The moonshine cocktails we got were so good! We actually wound up walking back across old town to go back for seconds. 10/10 recommend trying them out if you are nearby!

Today is such a God awful hot day. Decided to stop in to old town and look at the crystal shop however right across the street is the new Mars mountain moonshine location; the original is in Mount Dora. Everything from the ambience, to the glorious AC, to the friendly staff as well as the name to go cocktails this is a perfect spot to stop when it's hot. I believe they also have tastings as well as different merchandise!! Highly recommend this but I got a sex on the beach cocktail for $12. 10/10

Welcome to the world of moonshine. As you walk in, I was greeted by barrels and wonderful staff members who tell you the tasting options right away. We were in a rush so we decided to look around and take notes for our next trip. The distillers were very creative and came up with some amazing-sounding flavors. They had all types of fruits and foods, and not to mention desserts. The distillery was well laid out and very easy to navigate. All the staff were easy to talk to and helpful. I will be going back there next time when I have 2 to 3 hours because this is not something you want to do in 10 to 15 minutes. It looks like they get very in-depth and explain the process and answer questions, and it can turn into a whole learning experience. We can't wait to return. Thank you guys for the great service!

I brought my nephew here for his 30th birthday and got him the moonshine sampler package. It was $9 and included little samples of a variety of their moonshines. I liked how they did a little class where the instructor explained the different moonshines and what flavor profile you could expect from each one. I don't drink so I just stood on the sidelines but I learned a lot just from being nearby. We paid at the cashier as soon as we walked in and I think if we went back now that he knows what drinks he enjoys he probably would just go straight to the bar. Next time I can charge and all of the employees here were friendly and answered all of our questions. I like to feel inside. It's kind of like an old western tavern. It really fits the Old Town vibe.

It's very clear that he's passionate about what he does and the fact that it's a family business. I had found this on Groupon and took my Dad and we both had a blast! The shot glasses are a nice touch too. The whiskey is delicious. Part of our tasting included the first ever batch of his Black Ox, which was super cool (and very smooth). The different types of liquor are delicious, especially the Coquito! The Coquito tastes like coconut milk, and there are apple pie and honey and lemon flavors as well. In all of them, you can tell that he uses real ingredients and a lot of care to make sure it tastes the best that it can. The distillery is in a warehouse, so it's a little hard to find. But if you call him, he is very thorough with his directions and will wait a little to make sure everyone gets to participate. Parking wasn't an issue when we went because there are spots right in front of the warehouse. It was a little warm (it is Florida after all) and it's not an enclosed/air-conditioned structure so dress accordingly! But he has fans and stuff to help with that and the tasting room does have AC.

They had quite a lineup for tasting. And the samples are free! I enjoyed their orange blossom sweet tea vodka. The orange blossom makes it a little different than the usual sweet tea vodkas. On the menu, they have a John Daly cocktail. As a golfer and a fan of golf, I was destined to enjoy this cocktail. And their prices! Talk about a bargain! My drink was only $7.99. We had a few more samples and then I spied their seasonal frozen drink. It's a spiked "hot" cocoa! That frozen drink was so good. You could not detect the vodka in it but I'm sure it would kick in. I just had a sip of my husband's. So good. The store is super cute. They were busy decorating the place with Christmas stuff- even though Christmas is literally around the corner! Haha. A bit late but much appreciated. They have quite a bit of merchandise. Some is loggerhead and some is just cute gift type- for example- their tea towels are funny! I grabbed two for Christmas gifts. They have shirts, coffee mugs and tons of bar glassware. You can even buy bottles of their spirits. The place is a bit small. There's a Large table that seats about ten people and then standing room. You can see right into their distillery from the windows. Their spirits are offered at a few local restaurants, including The district, which is next door. Parking is along the street. The little lot across from them is gone- it's undergoing construction to be some retail building. Definitely stop by when you're in the area. Have a free taste, get a cocktail and pick up some gifts. I've been trying to stop into this distillery for years, but my timing was always off. Either they were closed that day i was there or not opening before I left. But today, the starts aligned. If you know, John and I love going to small craft/ small batch distilleries & we have the bar to back that up. Years of learning what we love and what we (I really) don't. I was all interested in the bourbon! And they delivered! Every batch is a one and done, with every new batch trying to be better and more refined than the last. Reminds me of myself, I'm always moving forward & trying to do better! Loved the bourbon. The Winter Park Arts Festival blend was phenomenal! Then... I tried the Gincident and that was an easy yes, let's take that bottle home. Meanwhile, Chase was bragging about their Best Espresso Martini.... hmmm, prove it. Made with bourbon, omg yes please. Proprietary blend of coffee, vodka made in house and yes, it was one of my to three I've ever had! And now I want to start trying various bourbons to make one at home! And I heard they do a Halloween Yelp Event!!! Whhhaaaatttt! Please please, I must go this coming fall! I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
