Absolutely fantastic beer, incredibly friendly beertenders, and an awesome vibe! We had some time to kill before checking into our hotel in Orlando, so we figured we'd hunt down a brewery. Apple Maps was zero help -- it kept suggesting every bar and grill in existence instead of actual breweries. Thankfully, our Minnesota HopPassport saved the day. We pulled up nearby breweries and landed on Rockpit... and wow, we're so glad we did. We were greeted the second we walked in, which instantly set the tone. For our first round, my husband grabbed the Stupider IPA and I ordered the Paloma Possible cocktail. We fully planned on having one drink and heading out -- but they were so refreshing on a hot Florida day that we couldn't resist staying for another. Round two: he went with the 1840 Pre-prohibition lager, and I tried the Motorboatin' Florida agave lager. Both were seriously delicious. The whole place had such a great ambiance and vibe, reminding us of the breweries we love back home in Minnesota. If we're ever in the area again, Rockpit will absolutely be on our list. They don't have food, but they have amazing place next door that you can order from and they will go and pick it up for you! The service is very attentive. It's a really cool place inside. This was my first visit to Rockpit and definitely will not be my last! This is a great choice in Sodo! I love their community tables. It was easy to talk to other customers and enjoy the evening. Everyone was very friendly. They had live music- The Dad punk rock band. They also had a car show which was interesting and really cool to learn about nissan cars. I enjoyed their hefeweizen. It was definitely tasty. I would love to go back and try their moonshine. There's a barbecue joint next-door and you can order food from there. Honestly, even though we were in the side room for half of the Yvette without air-conditioning, I still have to give this place a five star review first and foremost. The beers were really good and they were moderately priced. The staff was really nice. I like how they kind of remembered your order. Ended up going to Rockpit with some family. I'm pretty particular with the kinds of beer I like, so I appreciate that the bartenders ended up letting me try various samples before I picked something out. I started with a coffee stout which was pretty good, but I was not able to find anything else I liked. So, I ended up trying their apple pie Moscow mule which was very good. It's been a while since I visited, so I went with other Yelpers for a ugly sweater UYE. Parking was a bit difficult to find, but then became easier when I was told I could park at the bbq restaurant next door. We ordered directly at the bar, and tried their moonshine iced lemonade tea. For 8 bucks, it was a refreshing drink, and the alcohol lingered lightly. I was surprised they allowed outside food, but they have a partnership with the bbq restaurant next door. So I got a pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans as side, and banana pudding (about 18 dollars total for all). The sandwich was fair with ample amount of pork, but could have been a bit more flavorful. Thankfully the bbq sauce on the side helped. The pork was tender enough. The bbq definitely helped the beans to be more enjoyable. It only it had a bit more kick. The banana pudding tasted like Publix pudding, and looked to be missing actual bananas. It has wafers instead. Though, I still enjoyed it and can't complain when it was under 4 bucks. The tables were sit yourself, and outdoor seating was available as well. After you order your food the drinks, and pay at the bar, they will deliver it directly to you. It was quiet when I went on a Friday, but there was a live band playing Caribbean music. Dogs are allowed here, and the dogs people bring can be pretty big. While the food was just above average, the drinks are still very good. Since the food is from their partner restaurant, I am still giving them 5 stars because of their great and reasonably priced drinks in a social and fun atmosphere. The service was very friendly and helpful too. Last time I visited, they had the mechanical bull riding contest, and I will definitely do that if they ever have that again. Came for trivia night, drinks and dinner. Trivia night was fun but difficult, the categories felt like they were taking a while and it ended a half hour past what was anticipated. We ordered 2 espresso martinis and 2 moterboatin' beers, both which were great. The names of the beers were fun! The food, horrible. Do yourself a favor and order literally nothing, they grab it from Cecil's next door and between the cheese curds with Heinz pre-packaged marinara sauce, the rubbery hot wings, the soggy grilled cheese, the pulled pork served that was unseasoned meat with no sauce and the cold Mac and cheese bland noodles - it's insane that so many foods were inedible. read more

But every now and then, I'll travel a daring five miles for a place that feels like it was plucked straight out of the Pacific Northwest and this is that place. The beer? Amazing. The staff? Incredible. The space? Open, welcoming, and plenty of seating to settle in for a while. Now let's talk about the only adventure here: parking. The immediate lot is small and can feel like you're competing in the Orlando Parking Olympics. But there's additional parking across the street to the left near some office buildings. Finding parking in Orlando sometimes feels as hard as snagging a spot in NYC, but trust me, it's worth the effort. They're constantly brewing something new okay, maybe not every single week, but it sure feels like it and somehow it's always excellent. There's always something fresh and creative on tap. Rockpit hosts live music on Fridays and one of our fav local bands, Count Me In, was playing so a friend and I decided to go! After sampling some of the beer we decided on a sour (sorry can't remember the name) but you could add different flavors to it which I thought was an awesome idea! I also went with the garlic chicken wings which were cooked to perfection (smoked)! While watching the band, the owner noticed we were standing in the back and didn't like that. So he went and grabbed some tables from the back so all of us standing would have a seat. Extremely nice of him! Throughout the rest of our time there, we had multiple different employees stop by our table to ask if we needed anything and the bar staff was quick to serve as well! The first thing that we experienced when visiting here was discovering that their parking lot is painfully small but it boded well as it was packed (on a Monday, no less...) When you enter you are greeted with a warm, rustic setting plenty of polished wood for the bar and table, and a nice amount of iron to even everything out. Vibe was a little lacking, no biggie, but it wasn't as welcoming as other places I've been too. The selection of their brews and cocktails for that matter was really good, and the quality for the beers we had matched up perfectly. Service was solid. My main nit was how you order - I am not a fan of ordering at one location (usually the center of the bar as it was here.) I frankly find it inefficient and not necessarily customer friendly. What fun! AA++ for having super friendly helpful staff and a happy hour my colleagues and friends, co-workers can live with. And a big time bonus for hosting Cecil's foods from next door. Love that place and our foodie experiences here with them have been pretty damn good. Noice. Craft drafts here are also pretty good unlike the science projects you'll get elsewhere that'll send you running for cheap commercial beer. So the parking situation's tight and your first time visiting could easily end in disaster if you get towed from parking in the wrong place next door ...but they've got connections with other local businesses nearby and there's plenty of places to park IF you're in the know. Once, before we knew, we scored a good spot on property just before they opened only to be promptly chased out by someone representing an impending food rally; so we left and went somewhere else because we didn't know where to park nor was whoever kind or nice enough to suggest somewhere we could. I haven't written a review for Rockpit in a few years so I thought this would be a good time to provide an update. This place still "rocks" (Chris Rock is an owner!) and the vibe continues to be cool and relaxed. I've recently been here two Fridays in a row as Rockpit has some of the best food truck events, along with their easy-going neighborly atmosphere. Tonight, the food truck for Royal T Tapa's was celebrating its 2-year anniversary in the business and they held a tapa eating contest as well as a beer pong tournament. The musician playing that night had a nice, mellow country performance that was enjoyable to listen to. The beer selection is extensive, and they recently added liquor drinks as they updated their name to Rockpit Brewery & Distillery. Their gin concoctions are quite tasty. I like this place also due to the fact that Rockpit gives back to the community. They sponsor numerous nonprofit functions and I appreciate a local business that supports the locals. Keep up the good work, Rockpit. You are indeed a welcome addition to our community. read more

A little bit of a weird vibe here. Maybe because one of the first things I saw was a Trump/Pence sign in a high window as I was walking up. It wasn't clear whether it was Rockpit's choice as I know the barbecue is separate so it could have been their space, but regardless it certainly set the tone for my visit. I did appreciate the variety of veggie options on the barbecue menu, although what we went with was mid at best. The fries were completely unseasoned and the pretzel bites seemed like they had been freezer burned. I was intrigued by the fact that Rockpit distills their own moonshine on top of brewing tons of different kinds of beer. However, 2 of the 3 drinks I had weren't anything to write home about. I really liked the hefeweizen (Huell Heffner) though. The bartenders were all really nice and patient if/when I had questions. My boyfriend and I came here to redeem our free BOGO coupons received at a SoDo event earlier this month. The place was easy to find and parking was smooth. When we opened the door, a swarm of people came rushing out. Maybe 15-20 people so we ended up holding the door open for them... none of them said thank you. This set the tone of our visit. After they moved out, we finally walked in. The place was dark and warm. We sat at the bar, which no one attended to us the first 10 mins. We sat there... and sat there... even waived at a couple of workers and none of them came to us. We finally stood up and waited in the "Please order here" line and they took our order. Weird... didn't know we had to place an order in the line when we sat at the open bar. After we ordered, we sat at the furthest table against the bar. We ordered pulled pork tots, paired with the Blonde Ale. The tots were nice and hot, generous in portions. I asked for a side of BBQ which took five minutes to come out. The beer was good too, but it could have been much much colder. The decor is nice and the restroom is clean. Just wish they had more workers because everyone looked exhausted. read more

Friendly atmosphere and seemingly very dog friendly. Though they technically don't have food you wouldn't know it by going there. There is a menu and next door's Cecil's BBQ will appear before you and on your tab. That alone makes this place great. Wow Rockpit you've got some new stuff! From the new beers on the board to such a lovely and quiet evening on a Tuesday; I got the blueberry lemon thyme gin smash and it was such a marvelous drink. The crispness of the moon and the tart aftertaste of the blueberry it was SOooooo refreshing. My barkeep was really nice too. The ambiance of Rockpit is a modern industrial local brewery in the heart of SoDo. Definitely recommend coming here! It's my favorite brewery- 10/10 read more

What a fun vibe with lots of seating options inside and outside! They have a large variety of drinks and something for everyone. I am not really a beer person, but found that there was a lot of different options. I got the Coconut Lavender Moonshine Lemonade and absolutely loved it! It was a sweet drink with lots of flavors that blended really well together. I will definitely be back to try this drink again. The bartenders were all very friendly and efficient and were doing a great job of taking care of everyone. The brewery hosts a lot of events in its parking lot which I highly recommend checking out. Updating my review from 2019 to say that this brewery is STILL my all time favorite place in Orlando. The people that own it, the bartenders, and "the regulars" are like a second family and I'm always so happy to walk in there to hang out, whether I'm by myself or with friends. Something new and exciting since my last review - they are now also a distillery and make their own spirits like gin, whiskey, moonshine, vodka, etc. They have a great cocktail menu that's always changing, just like their beer menu! Speaking of beer, they have also expanded the back portion of the brewery and put in additional brewing equipment, which means more beer! There's still always a ton of events going on here. I highly recommend following their Facebook page or signing up for their newsletter via their website. You will get all the updates on new beer or cocktail releases, all of the upcoming events, and things you didn't ask for like bad dad jokes, low budget videos, and stories. read more

What a great spot to hang in the Sodo District! I loved the indoor/outdoor vibes and huge plus for any brewery that also serves food. I'm always hungry when I'm drinking beer, haha. They also frequently host pop-ups and events in their parking lot. The night we went, Over the Border Taqueria was popped up and we got to enjoy some delicious tacos with our drinks. I ordered the Priced Out of Paradise New England IPA, which had the perfect citrus notes I was craving. I'm not a big IPA drinker, but when I'm in the mood for one, this is it! It was smooth and not too bitter -- just the way I like it! My husband got the Threshold of Helles which is a lighter, crisp beer perfect for drinking outdoors. The beer mug it comes in is huge, so it's also a great value. I took a sip and it was very refreshing -- he really enjoyed this one as well. The brisket slider was modified for me and a side of smoked butter was added since the brisket was a little lean. My order came out just as I had expected. The taste was decent.
