We decided to stop in here and wow, sometimes what you least expect becomes exceptional. The service was so great. I really appreciated the attention we received. I got the chicken parm which was so very good. The lady of the table got the chicken Milano. She raved about it. Dad got a sirloin and he said it was great. The bread was hit, fresh and delicious. Quiet little place on a Thursday night, at first the waitress was stand-off ish. Became more friendly when she realized she knew the people joining us. Wings were very large but, had an odd taste. Blue cheese dressing was delicious. Fresh fries were also good, just a bit undercooked. 3 of 4 of us got the seafood special. Clams, shrimp, scallops in white wine butter sauce over linguine, mine over GF penne. It was good BUT, left a great deal to be desired for flavor all three of us had to add so much cheese and black pepper. DEF NOT worth the $38 for Reg or $40 for GF! The servers were friendly. The bread was amazing. The food was not great. My fault for ordering fish. Not a good choice. It was dry and old. I was waiting for a friend, minding my own business, watching men's gymnastics. There was a family that felt it was okay to have their children scream and carry on. What happened to manners in a restaurant. 10-year-old children should learn how to behave in a restaurant. Why should they ruin the dining experience of every diner in there. So as I finished up my meal and my cocktail, another gentleman came in and decided he wanted to watch hockey so that changed the channel forget that I have been there the whole time invested in it the gymnastic competition. I dined here while visiting family near by. I was dining alone and when I arrived around 4:30pm the bar was full. I ordered chicken parm which was a sold 'very good'. Portion size was extremely generous. Chicken itself was good and for the most part tender. Sauce, which can vary tremendously by restaurant, was good. I've had better and I've had much worse. Pasta was pasta. Prices were on the higher side but I'm always willing to pay on the higher side at privately owned restaurants as long as the quality is there. We stopped in here for dinner tonight as we'd been wanting to check it out. I haven't been in since it was called Bentley's, same name as the other one near Dunning Street, so it's been a long time. The atmosphere was nice, ambient lighting and nice wood on the walls. We were given a nice spot in the front. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. She took good care of us. The food was great, very fresh. Their fries are fresh cut on site and everything was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable for the huge potion sizes. We went here Wednesday night and were also here over a month ago and pleasantly surprised at the food each time. More of a mom and pop type atmosphere and we prefer to sit on the porch with the natural light, the dining room is a bit dark. I've ordered the waffle fries and salmon both times and it was so good. I ordered the salmon special this week with the sundried tomatoes hollandaise and julienne veggies and prefer it to the regular menu item. My husband had a perfectly crispy chicken parm and previously had the pizza. Best Shirley temples around and attentive service. Lots of menu items I'd like to try in the future. read more

First time here and pleasantly surprised! Service was the food was great. We sat in the front room and it reminded my dining companion of his grandmas knotty pine porch back in the day. Soups were very good broccoli cheddar and French onion. I had the seafood special big piece of fish and shrimp with fries and slaw. So good! My companion had the chicken Parmesan. For years we've driven by Andy's and wondered if the place was worth checking out. Now we know we've experienced many missed opportunities. The menu leans toward Italian dishes, and we already had plans to go to a different Italian restaurant tomorrow, so we shied away from the obvious Italian food and made mental notes to return in the future if we had a good experience tonight. There was a nice selection of craft beers on tap from which we settled on pints of Wolf Hollow's Lock 9 Porter ($6.50) and Adirondack Bear Naked Ale ($6). Both of these brews have lots of flavor. One of the day's specials was their Tomato Bisque ($4.25/cup). My wife ordered it and while it could have been served hotter, it tasted really great. A little bit of sweetness, but thick with pieces of tomato. My wife also ordered the Phelps Philly ($12.95) sandwich with optional waffle fries ($1.50) in place of their skin-on, fresh cut French fries. As the name would imply, there was a slight resemblance to a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. In a fresh baguette roll was thin sliced beef sautéed with onions and peppers all topped with mozzarella. A side of delicious au jus was also provided for dipping. We both agreed that this was a really tasty and filling sandwich that would be worth ordering again. I decided to try the Big Slide Burger ($13.95) with optional sweet potato fries ($1.50) and Melba on the side. The patty is a half-pound of freshly ground sirloin, flame grilled, served topped with apple wood smoked bacon, bleu cheese sauce, and as I write this I realize that I never got the onion rings mentioned on the menu. But I have to say that I apparently didn't miss those rings because the flavors that came through from the beef, bacon and sauce on the fresh brioche roll were excellent. The pieces of bacon that extended beyond the roll, I broke off and added to the bacon on top of the patty. Nice crispy crunch with each bite. I was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked, so I was really surprised to find it cooked to a perfect medium-rare. It's so nice to have a burger with so much flavor without having to resort to adding more than two toppings. I had heard a dessert being described to another table but was already quite full after cleaning my plate. But I asked anyway and our server described a chocolate cake with a peanut butter ganache frosting ($9.95). He had me at "peanut butter." I asked to have it packed to go. Once at home later in the evening, my wife and I opened the container and were amazed with how the top layer looked like at least an inch thick of peanut butter on top. We were expecting it to be very heavy. But we were pleased to find that the chocolate cake portion was very moist and the ganache was much lighter and creamer than expected. Such a large portion, there will still be some to enjoy again tomorrow. Service was excellent and the casual environment with pine, wood paneling even gives you a bit of that Adirondack feel. read more

We went to Andy's today, late afternoon. I ordered a burger which was cooked medium rare and was perfect, with cheddar, and NO tomato or lettuce please! I chose fries for the side, I do love their freshly cooked fries. My son had the linguine alfredo and added shrimp - five huge shrimp. It was delicious. Yes, I had to taste it just to make sure it was ok for him to eat. I did share my fries with him tho. We took home two chicken parm dinners. One to share later and one for my husband who practically inhaled half of the huge portion. The dinners came with salads and fresh rolls too. We thanked our waitress, Tammy, for our excellent service while she was able to service the entire restaurant. I think the place has potential to be good, but our server just wasn't with it. That's hard for me to say after years of working in restaurants, but she made so many mistakes on one 4-top that we probably won't be back soon. It started off well; she seated us at a nice table and let us know she'd be a few extra minutes since everyone had come in at once at noon (opening time). This was great and appreciated. When we ordered 4 waters, she brought us 3 and handed the 4th to the table next to us. When one guest ordered regular fries as his side then changed to sweet potato fries, she acknowledged this and confirmed with him he wanted sweet potato fries. When his food came out with regular fries he asked about the sweet potato fries and she claimed she never heard him say anything. Yet 4 of us heard her confirm the change before she left our table. The regular fries were also delicious so he kept those and enjoyed them. Another guest, ordering from the kids menu, didn't receive her side. When we asked about that, we were told it didn't come with a side. So we had to point out that it was on the menu and she agreed to bring it out. The third guest ordered the Adirondack burger that comes with cheese, but she didn't ask what type of cheese. The guest isn't picky and would have eaten whatever, but assumed American cheese or similar was the default. Nope. No cheese on the cheeseburger. The 4th guest never received his beverage he ordered, but it never made the bill either, so that was a wash. However, what did make the bill was a 5th sandwich that we did not order. Thankfully there was no issue removing that from the bill. The food, however was almost all awesome. The only exception was the grilled chicken in the BLT was a bit overcooked and dry. The burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly as was the kids meal. Perhaps we'll try a different time of day or different day of the week, because the food really was tasty, but with so many great restaurant options around it's tough to get motivated to try Andy's again soon. read more

I was just so blown away by my experience here. I have issues with gluten and they were SO accommodating to me without making me feel like a burden. The employees were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was so cozy and inviting. Plus the food was AMAZING! I had gluten free chicken Marsala and it was everything I'd hoped for. Never had a bad experience here. I am always impressed with how great the food is and the service even during a busy Friday dinner hour. We had burgers, fries, chicken tenders, and tried the veggie burger. All burgers were cooked properly and the veggie burger was delicious. We were visiting my Aunt, and this was one of her favorite places to eat. She has lost her vision, so only gets here on special occasions. I liked the variety of options on the menu. It's one of those places where you watch the food arriving at other tables and go "ooooh, I will order that next time". The soup of the day was lentils, which my Aunt enjoyed. I had The French Onion, which was marvelous. It was Friday night, so two of us got the Fish fry. Large pieces, lightly coated with cornmeal, moist and crispy. The fries appeared to be hand cut, but I suggest that you order extra crispy. The others in our party ordered the clam chowder, which they enjoyed. Very full of clams, and few potatoes. One person ordered the buffalo chicken salad. It was pretty large. Three big pieces of chicken breast coated with sauce atop a nice dinner-size salad. We all left full. Great service- although they were packed, and it was a challenge at times to catch someone for refilling water and coffee. The noise level on "the porch" was pretty high making us have to speak louder for conversation. read more

I had been here with my husband before and we both had burgers. It was a while ago and they must have been good because recently, when I decided to treat my son to dinner, on a snowy week night, we stopped at Andy's. They were pretty packed - good sign! Being Italian, I usually stay away from any pasta dish unless it's an Italian restaurant or my own. This being said, I happened to be in the mood for Chicken Parmesan. I figured that since I already like the food, I'd try the parm. We also ordered a pizza which happened to be so very tasty - a bit on the thin side and I like a thicker slice (I'm from Brooklyn - very picky with my pizza), but the flavor made up for it. When the parm came I thought it was a two-person serving. I took the first bite - (had to because my son was eyeing it and everything would have been gone in 2 seconds if he took a bite) so thick & juicy with just the right amount of breading and seasoning. There was a side of pasta and I chose penne. While I was concentrating on the chicken, my son polished off the pasta. Very laid back atmosphere, casual dress code, and they have a bar area. So, great choice of restaurant and food. We've already ordered take-out and will be back for the burgers again...or pizza...or parm? Anything. Highly recommended! read more

This was our second time visiting Andy's and we will go back again. I've had to change my entire diet recently and so going out to eat isn't very fun anymore, but Andy's is very accommodating. I was able to order fresh haddock with veggies, gluten free and dairy free. My other half order linguini and clam sauce and he loved it. Portion sizes are good, prices are fair, and service is really really great! We've had two different waitresses and both of them were super! We hope Andy's keeps going strong. They also have different specials each night of the week. For example, Tuesdays are a large 2-topping pizza with a pitcher of beer or a bottle of wine for $25! My first visit today to Andy's and was not disappointed. The sandwich was delicious, great portions and the service was fabulous.

First, there might be some confusion on the name. The place was originally known as Andy's Pizza and Grill, then Bentley's Restaurant, and has reverted back to Andy's (with "Adirondack Grille" at the end). Long-time customers have always referred to it as Andy's, which is probably why they went back to it. The staff has always been consistently friendly and helpful - Andy himself is often out on the floor saying hello to families and checking in on them, and it's obvious many come back for the food and his company (including my parents). Andy's has been a mainstay with my family for years, and for a good reason. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic like the inside of an Adirondack cabin, and the food they serve is hearty, warm, and HEAPING. I mean, their burgers are massive - the Big Slide Burger (my favorite) is a half-pound of insane meat, and every bite of it is delicious. They also have some delicious chef's specials - the spicy Black Mountain Pasta is amazing and my dad gets it almost every time he comes. Andy's wings are also to die for - huge, crispy, and drenched in Buffalo sauce. I can't stand soggy wings, and the options in Boston are... sad, to say the least, so I love to come back home to these. I honestly can't say enough about the place - every time I come back to town to visit, it's where I want to eat. It just feels like home here. read more

Thank you, Restaurant Gods, for this delicious gem. We're newer to the area (we relocated here mere months ago, and until tonight had eaten only mediocre food (at best!) from nearby places. We've been trying to be more than understanding, given the current atmosphere. We ordered and immensely enjoyed: -Hot Chicken Wings (we're Buffalonians, and these are hands down the BEST I've had in about two years! House made roasted garlic bleu cheese is excellent!) -The Big Slide Burger, sans bleu cheese, medium, sub waffle fries (perfectly cooked with a nice crust, three ginormous onion rings, nicely seasoned fries) -Veggie Burger (folks, LOADED with sharp cheddar! House-made patty was incredibly flavorful with plenty of garlic and cumin coming through. Nicely packed black bean and quinoa burger with perfect texture! Bonus that it comes with ample lettuce, pickle chips, sliced red onion, and homemade chipotle aioli. Griddled Brioche rolls to boot!) Furthermore, the gentleman who took our order was kind, thorough, and efficient. I applaud your concise menu and dedication to consistency and properly-made food. Bravo!
