    Pesty Pesto Flatbread
    Claudia B.

My daughter was in charge of meal plans/reservations while we were in Saratoga Springs. Morrissey's came highly recommended, so she booked a reservation for all of us to eat lunch there. Cute little restaurant inside the Adelphi Hotel with nice covered outdoor dining area, as well. Interesting eclectic menu, offering a wide array of choices. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad and the Pesty Pesto Flatbread, which had sausage, mushrooms, red onion, fresh mozzarella curd, tangy tomato & pesto sauces on what appeared to be homemade dough. It was delicious, and we were both secretly wishing we could have more. The Caesar salad was split for us, but quite honestly, seeing it split apart, it was rather small and lost on the plate. Also, as with most restaurants, we needed more dressing because what they gave didn't offer any appreciable flavor. Once we got more dressing, it tasted fine. Just wish they had given us more. We enjoyed what we got. My daughter and son-in-law ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and something else. I don't remember what their other order was, and I never got a picture of it either. I do remember that they really liked what they got, though. My 4-year old grandson had chicken fingers, and my 1-year old granddaughter ate portions of whatever my daughter and son-in-law had ordered. In fact, my granddaughter kept asking for more, which was cute. I would definitely come back to this place if we ever are back in the area. I can see that reservations are a MUST !!

We were in town this weekend to go to the races and my husband was nice enough to make a dinner reservation for us at this place on Sunday. We sat on their outdoor patio and enjoyed the casual ambiance. The menu offers plenty of appetizers, salads, pizzas, sushi, and entrees. After sitting outside at the track all afternoon we really wanted something cool. We started with the hummus board and it was delicious. We then had the mango salmon roll and the Volcano Roll. Both choices tasted great. Service was good.

We ordered two cocktails with hardly any liquor, just two blocks of ice to take up volume in the glass to make it appear there was more than there actually was. Two expensive drinks very little alcohol, rip off. Huge ice cube .

We loved the live entertainment! The music was great. I am an out of towner and I could tell it was a poplar place on Thursdays. The curry chicken wings were one of the best I have ever had. The back room was a little loud so next time we will request to be seated upfront or outside.

Morissey's food is delicious. The menu is creative. The drink menu is a bit lacking for me. There was no "wow" drinks on the menu. I enjoy a nice herbal gin drink. Everything was a sweet option. Our waitress was amazing with a wonderful sense of humor. The inside of the restaurant is choppy. We had a nice intimate room with a non-heated gas fireplace. For a tapas place, the table was very small to hold the plates. The tartare tacos were delicious.

    Outstanding display of sushi!

Finally made our way to the Adelphi Hotel were we met a friend here for a drink prior to going to dinner. This is a very comfortable place to sit and relax with a drink in your hands. The folks behind the counter were extremely cordial made us feel welcome at the bar. Non-glamorous drinks, just a few glasses of wine but what I will say is that the wine they gave us was terrific. My wife had a Sauvignon Blanc while I had a Pinot Noir. They were both delicious and served at a great temperature. This is important to us as we find so so many places that keep their wine in refrigerators and you get a glass of wine that tastes like a glass of ice water. Looking forward to a trip back when I can try some of their menu items. I am also looking forward to trying some items on their sushi menu. I saw them pass by and they looked fantastic. KUDOs to the team at Morrissey's

Good service and nice atmosphere with the food being good-but-not-great. The sushi was a bit bland and I'm a little salty that the "crab" was the fake crab (made with fish). The chicken club was also good but didn't stand out even though they had their "famous" thick cut bacon. The lobster dumplings were very good and while a little pricey, it was worth it, especially with the spicy sauce spread on it. One nice thing Morrissey's will do is split a sandwich and on both plates give you a full serving of fries.

    Delicious Sushi!

Premix espresso martini bush league for a restaurant that considers itself upscale. Snobby.

Good food but not great. Was there on prime rib night it wasn't the best cut, a bit tough but the chef knows how to create flavors.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.

Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end)…read more I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.
