Would not recommend--they broke my Burton boots and were jerks about it. I originally went to Burton to fix my step in bindings and mentioned that my boot BOA was jamming so it was working but a pain to get on and off. I was told the track was breaking from overtightening; they cut the cord but then couldn't fix it because they didn't have a certain tool and said to show up to Max Snowboards the next morning because the guy helping me at Burton worked there too and had the tool there. The next morning he didn't show up so someone else worked on it; I told her everything that had happened and explicitly said that the guy from the night before specifically said do not pull the whole cord out or it wouldn't go back in and the boot would be ruined--she then proceeded to try to pull it out anyway. Alarmed, I said "wait no he said it wouldn't go back in!"--to which she rolled her eyes and said condescendingly "yea well he's not here and you asked me to fix it with the tools I have that he didn't have last night". Then she told me to wait there and took the boot with her to some back area to work on it. Long story short, two hours later my boot was permanently ruined beyond repair despite having worked the day before, and the whole time they acted like it would be fixed any minute while I stood in their shop. I had to buy brand new boots from them and they only gave me a 15% discount for ruining my boots (which were less than two years old), and with the discount it still wasn't cheaper than Burton online at the end of the day because of their markups. Horrible experience, and they weren't even apologetic. read more

Honestly they have a small selection of stuff, but I think being located in the Park City village has made the staff act like stuck-up pricks. I hate to make posts like this, but feel this is the ONLY avenue to OUT bad customer service people. To be frank, the guy with long hair was cool, but the young woman brunette just has the worst attitude. She should NOT work in retail, or any other customer facing business. It is important to note that I had worked in customer retail ski and snowboard shops for nearly a decade in my teens and 20s. I understand exactly what you have to put up when working in retail--and you can always tell EXACTLY who should work in retail, and who SHOULD NOT! This young woman SHOULD NOT WORK IN RETAIL. I showed him a broken Boa knob and he said he might have an extra in the shop. We went in, Andy disappeared and was back in a flash with a new knob. He asked if I knew how to install. Hands down, the best snowboard shop in the park city village. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. I've been boarding for about 10 years, but had a very limited understanding about the equipment I was using - that was not an issue here. Not pretentious in any sense. They were super patient with me and would explain in detail the right bindings and board I needed based on my snowboarding skill level, style and terrain preference. I've been a long time patron to this shop. I've bought boots, boards, and gear here but for some reason this year the service has been terrible. I came in to exchange some boots that I hadn't worn yet for a smaller pair. When I told the guy at the front why I was returning them he started telling me I was wrong and that I didn't need a smaller size because only a select few riders like tighter boots and he said to my face "trust me man. You're not that guy". I've been riding close to 10 years. I think I know what I want. After I convinced him to let me try a smaller size on, he asked his manager how to do a refund and the manager explained how long and annoying the process was and dropped 2 F bombs while there were kids in the store. Hey Mindy (If you're wondering how I know your name, well this whole town knows your name and we both know why). Next time someone rolls into the shop and tells you exactly what they want maybe don't start off with "well have you done your research?" and proceed to rattle off BS incorrect information. I wanted Union Flite Pros because they're a sick, super light-weight, and CHEAP binding. Contact Pros may be comparable, but they're not just $20 more than than the Flite Pros and it's not last seasons Flites at the $169 price point. If you want to do a little research yourself you should check out the UnionFlite Pro Snowboard Binding - 2022 on backcountry. I don't care if you "weren't trying to be rude" you were. I love Max Snowboards and all the other staff there, but you in no way represent the customer service I have come to expect. read more

I came in looking for a specific binding that they carried and the staff was extremely dismissive when I asked questions. Ultimately he told me the size they had in stock wouldn't work for me - an opinion that was contradictory to every other shop I visited in the village. When I initially tried getting the employee's attention he was on his phone and I had to speak up again to get assistance. They pride themselves on being a "pro" shop and made me feel like a complete idiot for asking questions on the binding. Combining opinions I got from other shops I ended up purchasing the size binding that Max's carried from an online vendor to avoid giving them my business. On top of this my friend asked for an employee's opinion on a pair of boots to which he pompously replied "we don't carry anything not ride worthy". Overall a trash experience in the store and I will not be returning. read more

I broke a Burton Prophecy toecap binding strap on the hill and stumbled into Max Snowboards looking for help. As soon as my daughter and I walked in, we were pleasantly greeted and given reassurance that it could be fixed. Wish I could remember his name but he immediately removed my binding, making sure to not change the angle settings, replaced the strap and had me check the fit. All done within 5 minutes. I was stoked to get in and out and back on the hill in no time at all. When I asked how much I owed him, he said "It's on the house today. Merry Christmas" How cool is that! They had a matching fund raiser for animals going on so I contributed to that. The shop is full of great gear and obviously a great staff that provides killer customer service. Good salespeople = good riding. I worked with Andy, and he was amazing. I went in to look for a really stiff carving board, and he spent about an hour with us discussing the type of riding I do, my stance, and all of the little details to my questions. The guy really knows his stuff. We narrowed down my choices to two boards, which he unfortunately didn't have in stock. However, he went the extra mile and called a few places down in Salt Lake City to find out which shop had the two boards I wanted to look at. I'm a snowboarder who enjoys cruising down the slopes and relaxing. My biggest problem was getting off the lift, finding a place to fall down and strap in, flip onto my front side, then cruising down. I lost a Burton highback screw and hardware while snowboarding with my kid. I thought it would be a hassle and delay our day, but I was in and out of Max in 5 minutes and the guy who helped us was very knowledgeable and replaced the part and set up the highback for $5.
