had lunch here a couple of weekends ago. Got there around 1 and the place was busy with a waiting line. we were seated in under 10 minutes, we sat outside. my wife had the turkey and Swiss panini, she enjoyed it. I went with gyro, it had good ingredients inside of it. We both enjoyed our lunch. FOOD: The biscuits are AMAZING!!! The potatoes were nice and crispy and fluffy, could use some seasonings. The French toast was good and a little undercooked. The eggs felt like they came from a bag. The sausage was so fatty and felt frozen. SERVICE: They were attentive and kind. Super busy but very well staffed. AMBIANCE: It was good for sitting inside. We stopped at Max's Table to have some breakfast before heading back home to Miami. So glad we read the Yelp reviews and decided to eat here. The food was fresh and delicious. My daughter and I shared the country omelette and French toast. Other family members ordered other omelettes, breakfast sandwich and the chocolate chip pancakes, all delicious. The hash brows were crispy and were perfectly cooked. The coffee and water were always being filled. The waitress was very attentive. Can't wait to go back next year. read more

After running a 1/2 Marathon, getting to your hotel, and seeing that YELPers rated this place 4 plus stars and the fact that it was the closest breakfast place, you go to it.. all the pictures looked great and I was definitely in the mood for a great meal, and I wasn't disappointed.. It didn't take long to pick the traditional corn beef breakfast, grilled cheese with bacon and of course some French toast with a twist .. which were the bomb.com - or in other words - wow.. Corn beef breakfast went above and beyond, got 2 fried eggs, English muffin, potatoes and a side of ham. The corn beef was so soft, well flavored and just amazing when combined with the eggs and potatoes.. the grilled cheese melt with bacon was just perfection of cheese, bacon and tomatoes with the sourdough bread.. every bite was loaded with cheese and bacon, which allowed the sandwich to not taste drive as you went through it and devoured it. If you love cheese and bacon in a sandwich, have this.. Lastly, I had to go with the French toast, but I put a twist on it. I asked for the crunchy French toast with ALL the toppings from their pancakes - Nutella, bananas, pecans, strawberries. Now I'm sure there have been better world inventions, but breakfast wise, this is a top 5 French toast breakfast invention . You had the combination of crunchiness and sweetness all with each bite. First time here! This place is definitely now in the top 2 of my favorite places for breakfast in Sarasota. Wow! So the hubs and I have come here before but they were not open on a random Sunday. I'm so glad we decided to try it again. The line was very long but we put our orders in and had a fairly short wait. We chose to sit outside because of the beautiful weather today. I checked their Yelp page beforehand and everything looked so good omg. When we were finally ready to order I opted for the Huevos Rancheros, cheese grits and a single pancake my hubby had the carnivore omelette. FOOD OVERLOAD! Wow. Everything was cooked to perfection. I just couldn't stop raving about the Huevos Rancheros. So many flavors, so good. The cheese grits were delicious and the pancake was fluffy and so yummy. I obviously couldn't finish everything but I ordered some extra tortillas to take home with the rest of my breakfast. Our server, Sarah was awesome. She was on top of our drinks and checked on us at the right times. Our first time there. Great selection for brunch. Food surpassed our expectations, the service did not. Else I'd have given 5 stars. The place was about 2/3 full, so not overly busy. We were seated right away and given water. Then sat there for almost 10 minutes before we finally stopped a wait person to ask who our server was. She snapped and said she'd find out. When our waitress finally came over she didn't apologize for the wait. I had the traditional eggs Benedict and it was awesome. We ate here for brunch and got a to-go gyro (what can I say, I'm a sucker for shaved lamb meat.) and everything was fantastic. They seat on a first-come, first-serve basis except for parties of 8 or more, but have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a Friday around 11 am and only waited 5 minutes for a seat. We ordered an omelette with goat cheese, bacon, spinach and tomato with a biscuit and the all American breakfast with sausage and hash browns. The biscuits are to-die-for--Super flaky and not too buttery. The hash browns are also cooked to perfection, browned, but not too charred. We ate the gyro later and it was very elite in terms of flavor, and vegetables to meat ratio. That was one of the best parts of the sandwich, they did not skip on the lamb meat! A lot of times there's a ton of lettuce or veggie filler... not here my friends! I will always try to make a stop at Max's if I'm in the area, I can't wait to try more of their menu. read more

Best breakfast we have found in Sarasota. Their outdoor space is amazing and the food was outstanding. The lemon ricotta pancakes may have been a little too sweet for my taste as they have lemon curd in between every layer, so next time I will ask to just have it on the top. The corn beef hash and Benedict got rave reviews from our group as well. We also felt that the staff wearing masks was an added bonus that was worth a mention. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes before we were greeted by a server who acted like she was doing us a favor to take our order for coffee. 20 Minutes! After we finally got coffee we had to wait another 10 minutes to place our order. There were four of us and we all ordered something different. After we ordered, we waited another 35 minutes for our food. It wasn't that busy and it was just breakfast. The food was awful. Don't even think about that corned beef hash. I took two bites and pushed my plate away. The server never came around to ask if the food was okay. It was not. It was just as bad as the service. What a disappointment this place was. We arrived at 9:00 and left at 10:45. That's ridiculous. There are too many other places to spend my money. Our morning was shot waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Not sure which was worse--the service or the food. I will not be back. Sub-par everything. read more

I never went inside. We were offered a wonderful outdoor table as soon as we walked up and we took it. Hubby got an omelet and biscuit & gravy, which was one of the first times he's actually liked his gravy. The biscuit looked delicious. I ordered the combo with Nutella pancakes. All was delicious...and our server brought us a to-go cup of coffee with our checks! AMAZING! This is the cutest local restaurant we've been too. We've been twice and the owners are always there and they're so sweet.
