What ever you do. do not use this company to check your A/C. This company lied to my warranty company stating parts are missing from my A/C. wanted me to pay 1,000 to replace the missing parts. when he never verified if the parts were actually missin!!! The tech refused to even go into my attac and check my A/C because he was over weight!!! He couldn't fit through the hole Into my Attic as well. Had this company to look at my account unit today and was told nothing is wrong with it and everything is working fine. Came home from work at 9pm and the inside of.my home is showing 82 degrees. I have filed a complaint with my home warranty company and refused to have them.come back and look at my unit. How can you troubleshoot a unit properly in 30-40 minutes and say nothing is wrong but when you got here to fix it the thermostat was reading 83. Do not waste your time using this company. This company has just informed us that our portion of the payment jumped from $3,770 to over $7,000 stating that American Home Shield (AHS) will not cover the A/C due to "damage" which is certainly not true. I am now seeing how the previous complaints of how May Heating and Air and AHS work hand in hand to not take care of their customers. This, unfortunately, will be a legal battle and judging from the reviews, this is something that they have encountered prior to this time. This is horrible. Do not use this company. This company was sent out by my home insurance company and the tech lied stated my unit was full of mud and not worn out by , even though system is over 10 years old. I went and checked out system. myself and there was no mud anywhere in system. I normally trust tech and let them do their jobs, but with this company I'd advise you stick close and watch them. I'm very disappointed with my experience with May Heating and Air. The service tech said he just installs the parts and doesn't know what they cost. My home warranty assigned them to handle the repair, but despite that, they told me the parts needed weren't covered. They charged $750 plus 3.5% for using a credit card for parts that I feel were extremely inflated. When I asked for clarification, I didn't get a straightforward explanation, which made the whole situation feel misleading and unfair. It came across as if they were more focused on upselling than being transparent or helping me understand my actual coverage. You don't make an appointment in a four hour window and then when somebody doesn't call you back within 15 minutes cancel the appointment. You don't get a four hour window for you to show up and then I get 15 minutes to call you back that's absurd. If you have to leave a voicemail then it's probably because somebody has a spam blocker. I have home owners insurance that had Mays come out to fix my A/C and Mays tried to charge me $950 dollars for something I didn't need or wasn't even required. My insurance sent me the money for the part I need to get fix and I got another company to give it a look and they fixed it for me for way less. do not use this company. vince that services the local grovetown area is not certified to work on goodman hvac system. i even wrote the company email and no response. the showed up for duct work repairs and did nothing and report there is not duct work issues. wow. see photos. all you had to say if you can't repair it. i had to pay $125 visit fee. read more

I was supposed to have an inspection but it wasn't complete. The guys were here less than 20 minutes. They never inspected the ductwork or check the temp of the air coming from the vents. They didn't even check to see if heat was coming from the vents. I received a follow-up call regarding the visit. I was told they should have been here longer & should have done the 2 items I mentioned & who knows what else. This person assured me the office would call to schedule a new inspection n/c. That hasn't happened. AHS is how I got this company & I will be contacting them next. Don't waste your time or $$ on this company. read more

May came to my house 4 times as requested by First American Home Warranty starting in May. Not sure if May's technicians are that incompetent or if FAHW limits what the technicians can actually do. Either way, quality and ethics are a concern. After subjecting my family to 80 plus degree conditions for more than a month and a half, I finally had to arrange for another HVAC company to come in and assess the system. This happened at the end of July. The company I paid for did advise the system required so much work that the costs would equal the cost of a new system. By this time condensation had been building throughout the house which caused the wood trim to swell and separate from the walls and mold to start growing. Thank you to FAHW and May for the gift of knowledge. I now know who I will never do business with again. read more

After reading several horrible reviews about May Heating and Air, I was extremely unhappy when my home warranty company, First American, dispatched them to fix my heating issue. I went into the experience with very low expectations. However, my perspective completely changed when Candice arrived. Candice was knowledgeable and she took the time to explain everything she was doing and diagnosed the problem in simple terms that were easy to understand. It turned out to be a faulty wire, and she had my heat back on within 15 minutes. I'm so glad I had a positive experience despite my initial concerns. If you're assigned this company, I highly recommend requesting Candice. She truly made a difference and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a quick and seamless repair. read more

All I wanted was a fan replaced in air handler.Instead got a condemnation Of complete system and only way to fix was with new system. Getting a local company to just replace fan. 57 year old system ge weatherproof. On my 30 year old car with bad fuel pump I don't expect the shop to condem my car and sell me a brand new vehicle. I just want a new fuel pump. Not a bran new car. This is equivalent. They refuse to replace fan. Just sell me a bran new system. American Home Shield assigned them to us. I read the reviews and thought oh crap. Arron came out and checked the Indoor Air handler then went outside and tested the Freon level and found that the capacitor was reading 30 0. He went back to his truck, and grabbed a 45 five capacitor and replaced the old one. . He came back inside went to the air handler to make sure that was running OK. Went down stairs and changed the temp up and down on the thermostats to ensure everything was working properly. Pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the work. read more

They have canceled on my twice and once the second one was not ahead of time... they just didn't show up during their 4 hour window and 12 minutes before their window was up Igot a text to reschedule. 7/19/24 They came out through American Home Shield. It turns out after their review the technician did not replace the protective covering around the compressor. We did not know this and it was not discovered until after our paid technician came out in 9/2024)! The issue. We went weeks and had to follow up to discover that for replacement to be done, it was $1500 for labor and freon. Ok, we understand that, but we questioned the quantity of freon we were being charged for 10 units which I understand is how quantities can be purchased. We called the manufacturer of our unit to inquire how much freon would be needed for replacement. It turns out because of where I was placed and from our the manufacturer, May was charging us for an additional 2-3 units of freon. We called May to ask and their own breakdown of freon for our unit came to the same amount but told us when we pressed that we PAY for 10 units and if it is not needed they will refund to us. Based on the other reviews, how could anyone trust them. I will say they were the lower cost per unit of several vendors we spoke with but they were charging for more than needed! We complained to Home SHield about their overcharging. We got a buy out for the initial repair of compressor and had the repair completes. We had excellent treatment by Phil Cool. They spent the time, more than fair pricing. I advise everyone to reach reviews before AHS sends anyone out. We tried to work with May to be fair with us but the Manager refused even though the count of freon needed reflected something similar to what our manufacturer of unit indicated and based on reviews the Company could not be trusted. read more

American Home Shield (worthless when really needed) dispatched May Heating & Air to my home for 2 separate problems on 2 separate HVAC systems 2 years apart and I got the same result. May Heating & Air fabricates the narrative with American Home Shield to make the job bigger than it is. The first time May came out was for a cooling issue and within much less than 30 mins, the technician tells me the entire air handler needed to be replaced because of a leak and they would change it out with Goodman instead of quality OEM Lennox parts. AHS told me my part would be over $2,400 for Freon and non-covered parts. I told them that I wanted Lennox parts and I would call my local Lennox HVAC company to give me an estimate. The local guy came out and for a little over $100 we have been nice and cool for 2 years now. The local guy did tell me it should take at least 30 minutes to run a leak test. I passed this back to AHS and they could care less as long as they didn't have to pay. Second time was just this past winter when the blower in our 2nd HVAC system went out. Of course American Home Shield sent their much to be desired May Heating & Air to diagnose my problem which I already had my local guy above troubleshoot to the blower motor. Again they wanted to put cheap aftermarket market parts in our Lennox. My system is a Lennox and it has lasted for 15 years because of that quality. The technician wrote it up for AHS and blamed the blower motor failure on a missing p-trap. Now think about it, a 15 year old blower motor in Florida that has been on the system that the same local guy above installed when the house was built in 2008 and the cause of failure is a missing p trap which wasn't missing. In Florida there are hundreds of thousands of homes that have the p-trap run from the air handler thru the wall and a simple U shaped pvc p-trap that drains on the ground. I called May and explained the p-trap and even sent them pictures and asked if they would update the report to AHS. All I got from the woman I spoke with in the May office was that the customer doesn't really matter because I never received a return call from either of the calls I requested one. The odd thing about all of this is that because of May's incorrect diagnosis of the cause, they lost the chance to make the repair and make money. Fairly stupid if you ask me. AHS refused to pay because they said the homeowner is responsible to have a complete system and it was my fault for not having a p-trap. So I replaced the blower motor myself with OEM parts and I finally got smart after 12 years with AHS and contractors like May Heating & Air and terminated my contract with AHS. Neither AHS nor their contractors like May care anything about the homeowner, it's all about the money. There are so many negative reviews about May Heating & Air for a reason so use them if you must but I would always get a second opinion as it most likely will save you money finding the real reason for your problem. read more

Came to my home in southern Georgia as requested for American Home Shield for due to the heat not working and the thermostat being blank. The gave a horrible diagnosis of parts missing (the p-trap being missing which it isn't) a part that has nothing to do with the heating my home. This was due either to incompetence or intentionally to get more money out of me for the repairs. After back and forth AHS sent out another company Cold Snap Heating and Cooling that actually did the diagnosed the issue correctly and got us up and running in about thirty minutes. read more

American Home Shield sent these people to my house because my compressor was not working. They reported back to AHS that we needed modifications to bring it up to code for regulations that didn't apply to our unit at all. These regulations don't go into effect until 2025 and only apply to new units. we also checked with the company that installed the unit and they advised us that the Freon that they were going to put back into our unit would've destroyed it. I will never let them on my property again or touch my AC unit. personally I don't believe AHS has any quality vendors because AHS IS TOO DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH! read more
