The food is always good and the people are very friendly. Never had a bad meal or experience hm and we've been coming here for years!

I've seen a lot of 4 stars and below reviews on this place, but my family and I loved it! The atmosphere was appreciable and the art was tasteful. It had great service as well. The food came out faster than I expected, and the proportions were huge. It also had great service. I had the "Burrito California" and it was an "average" size. When I got the burrito, I was astounded by the size. It was huge, and I had to take half of it home with me. They had great guacamole and salsa. The food was very fresh and was a great price. They had a great selection, especially for the kid's menu. They had everything a kid would want, even if it wasn't Mexican. (My 4-year-old brother got chicken nuggets.) The food tasted great and we only waited about 15 minutes for our food to come out which was great. The atmosphere was family-friendly and welcoming. The lights were dimmed for mood, and to be honest, it was annoying at first but I got used to it. The staff was nice and authentic. The waiter was patient and exceptional. As local Americanized-Mexican restaurants go, Maya is right up there. Their chips and salsa are quite tasty, and of course the service is lightning fast and courteous. I love their white cheese dip as an appetizer, often putting it on my main dish if any does not get gobbled up early on. I've had combo meals and they have all been quite tasty with the requisite rice and beans on the side, but my favorite is a chicken taco salad that comes standard with both sour cream and homemade guacamole. Prices are extremely reasonable, and there are always coupons floating around making the meal even more affordable. Nice job, guys! read more

Located in a strip, Maya is tucked away far back on the road. The food is good and you get a large portion, the chips and salsa are always fresh! The margaritas are very sweet and do not taste like there's much if any tequila in them, service is not very attentive. read more

This is a good Mexican establishment that offers great authentic Mexican food in Cleveland. The food looked very fresh and tasted delicious. I ordered the fajita chicken bowl with a side of guacamole. The chips and salsa are a plus, the beer was a little pricey but it was ok. If you come her for lunch it will be busy come here after 1 in the afternoon and after 7pm. Not impressed. Salsa is mediocre, but some might like crap salsa. The queso and cheese dip is watered down. If you order it to go you won't get much chips. I'm from the south where you can find some of the better Mexican food. This is spam quality food on a silver plate. They gave us a taco salad with barely any lettuce. It looks like mush. We still enjoy eating at Maya. It's been a while since we've been there because of what's going on in the world. A couple changes we ran into are there are no menus anymore. You have to use your phone to look at the menu. Also there are no more free chips and salsa. They bring them out and charge you for them without letting you know. I questioned it and the girl at the check out said that's just how they are doing things now. We don't mind paying for things but we don't like hidden charges for things that were complimentary since the establishment opened. I understand cutting back but if she let us know we would have felt better about it. read more

This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. We have been going there since they first opened quite a few years ago. No matter what we order, we are never disappointed and the excellent quality never changes They have many combination plates, fajitas, salads, soups as well as a Kid's Menu which has Mexican as well as American. Parking is never a problem since they are located in a super large parking lot which many years ago housed a grocery store. I am a local and have gotten take out often during covid to provide support. There is no consistency. For example I will order Queso and go to pick it up and there won't be any chips. So I ask for chips and they say you have to order that separately-okay, fair enough, so I did. Next time I went the chips were included for free. This has happened several times. I come home and things are missing or the order is wrong. I gave them so many chances but after speaking to the assistant manager he was so rude, I'll never be back. Great food, Great price, Great service, all around Great. I go to college in Berea so I don't always go out for a sit down meal, but whenever I do my friends and I always go to Maya's. They always start off with never ending fresh homemade chips and salsa. But be careful not to eat to many or you wont have room from your food! They give you a huge portion so you will likely take home some leftovers. You really get your money's worth here (Baldwin Wallace student get 10% off with ID). I always get El Combo which has a little bit of everything. If its your first time here definitely try that if you cant decide on what to get. There not only dine in but pick up as well. Pick up usually a 15 min wait on food. If you're planning on dining in on a Friday or Saturday prepare for a wait. If there's a line and it's go to the store next door and wait. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here today. The bartender didn't know how to make a Bacardi and Diet, then the bus boy got cleaning spray all over my food and body. When I complained to 3 different people, including the assistance manager, I was offered a free drink for the next time I come in. I won't be back. I eat in restaurants 2-3 times a week and live very close. This place never earned my business, and today is a shining example of that. read more

The worst customer service I have ever seen. I ordered through DoorDash. They forgot part of the order, and another part was incorrect. I had to drive 25 minutes to pick up the missing and incorrect items, and when I got there they kept saying they don't partner with DoorDash. They would not replace the incorrect item after arguing back and forth for over 10 minutes. I had to repay for the additional quesadilla that was made incorrectly....even though I had to drive all the way back and forth to pick up the cheese dip that they forgot. This is a very good Mexican restaurant. It was clean and the staff was friendly bas well as helpful. The food was excellent. My wife and ordered three dishes to try knowing full well we would be taken some home. When the Guadalajara special, rice bowl and shrimp quesadilla. The flan was excellent just as well as the churros which were served with a chocolate sauce and a caramel sauce if you have a sweet tooth this will satisfy you. The price was reasonable. Terrible service. First, we ordered cheese dip, came out freezing cold. Second, when we got the bill, we saw that it charged us for the chips and salsa that are usually complimentary since they bring it out to you in the beginning. We took the bill up to the register and the waitress told us that since we didn't order a meal, we had to pay for the "complimentary" chips and salsa, and showed us a paper that was behind their counter and said it was on the table which we never saw. I had the El Cozumel Fajita. It was bland. I was expecting hot off the grill steak, chicken and shrimp on top of sizzling onions, mushrooms and peppers. What I received was a plate of steaming ingredients. They were obviously cooked in a pan, all together, so that the water from the vegetables basically boiled the meats. Everything tasted the same and the steak was tough. There were no spices that I could discern. When a gave my opinion to the inquiring waiter, he apologized and offered for me to choose something else. My wife's carnitas tasted pretty good so I played it safe and ordered that. read more
