I ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl with tofu and rajas. I started eating it and found out a bunch of chicken pieces... i told the person at the counter and she told me it was tofu lol. The flavors were good but if you are vegan, vegetarian or have any food allergies, I don't recommend it. So as you see, they are still saying it was tofu.. After an hour of waiting for a shrimp quesadilla, I called the store to check on the status of the order. After 30 minutes of waiting on hold I hung up. I called right back and the SAME exact lady who answered the first time, picked up again. I called her out for leaving me on hold like that... and she legit acted like she had no clue. No apology. No nothing. Things happen, I get it, but at-least have the decency to answer the phone, apologize, and give an update on expectations. That's the very least that could be done. Tacos are just ok here, Ive only tried two, the pulled pork and chicken so i cant say for the rest of the menu but it seemed like the fish taco might have been the way to go. I got a horchata here as well which was nothing special, it seems like the typical artificial taste that you get with a lot of restaurants. May need to try the burrito next time as well. It was refreshing I just wish it was more creamy with a stronger cinnamon hit. Make sure to grab some sauces before you dig in. The elote is a must you get a whole corn on the cob that's fully coated. For the the 2 taco lunch special. You get these 2 big tacos, rice & beans, and a drink . The chicken was juicy and shredded nice. These aren't little tacos. They fill their tacos all the way. Plus this meal has everything you need. I got the steak Cali burrito. They put everything in here. Steak, fries, guac, beans, you name it. That steak was savory & juicy. The birria quesadilla was massive. With hella cheese and birria meat. With consomé on the side. I love how you get tortilla chips with every dish. They were fresh and crunchy. I ended it with their churro. Service was good. The staff were helpful. Overall the food is pretty filling and tasty. I was at this location yesterday and I left feeling very disappointed. I have been a Maya supporter since they opened this location but things have gone in the wrong direction. The food keeps being tasty and the portions are appropriate however the prices have gone off the roof and now they are even charging a service fee on top of the high prices and the tax added to the bill. I don't understand the service fee. According to their website they say they are charging this fee to keep serving the community. What does that mean? In addition, they charge $4.25 for a bottled coke. How is that possible? You are charging $4.25 for poison in a bottle? I did not ordered the coke, by the way. Great place for a casual burrito! I was worried because of the reviews but I ended up going and was very happy with my steak burrito bowl and my party had a naked burrito which she said the burrito was a good quality burrito much better than others in the area + chipotle. My meat was definitely really nice and juicy and tender which is all I care about mainly along with the basic flavors of a burrito. The salsa is great but I'm going to knock a star off because they charge after 3 each for two people which is BLASPHEMY. They only have three sauces so make your bet- I would recommend the green sauce for sure and they have a dark brown sauce which is Smokey sweet and the red is just a normal Tabasco hot sauce. They don't explain any of these to you so here is my explanation. Seating outside was busy so I would recommend checking out the patio in the back if you feel like there's no more seating. I got three tacos - the fried prawn, shredded chicken with costeño sauce, and the asada steak. The prawn was my favorite (served in a hard shell taco with sauce on top), but it was also scalding hot out of the fryer, and one bite ended up with hot oil all over my hand. No bueno.
