After a good Sunday, I decided to see what's local in Hercules. This restaurant popped on my feed. I believe this used to be Won Thai Cuisine but now revisioned to Aroy Thai Bistro. It was modern and really nice inside. I enjoyed the service and good food. Must try if anyone hasn't yet

I was heartbroken when Won Thai Cuisine closed their business a few months ago. I was glad the replacement was offering the same type of food that been feeding Hercules. After ordering Pad Thai from this place I finally got the chance to dine inside Aroy Thai Bistro in Hercules. I will say that having lunch inside was a good choice because it was relaxing. Inside Aroy Thai Bistro is amazing with the tables arrangement (booth or four chair table). I love how beautiful the restaurant is inside. I had great service at Aroy Thai Bistro. The server Nan double check if I was doing OK with my lunch or I needed more water. The Yellow Curry for lunch was amazing. Arrange with a salad and vegetable roll with rice were great. I love how much proportion my lunch was. I will definitely dine at Aroy Thai Bistro again. A Five Star review for Aroy Thai Bistro.

I was craving pad Thai and was delighted to discover this was nearby! As always, food is served in a family-style portion so I definitely had leftovers that I was happily eating throughout the week. I came on a busier day, 2 cooks in the back and only 1 server who was responsible for a larger party and 3 other small tables and takeout orders. Because of this, I believe my food and the service was much slower but I didn't mind or fault them for it. Food: each dish can easily feed 2 adults, maybe even 2 adults and a child. - Roti 5/5: flaky, buttery, slightly crispy on the outside - Pad Thai 5/5: authentic! Not super peanut-y flavored, more tangy/citrusy. - Fried Chicken Fried Rice 3/5: menu says must try but I didn't personally find anything amazing about it - Mango Sticky Rice 4/5: my favorite dessert in the world, only gripe is that the mangoes weren't as sweet as I'd like them to be Very clean restaurant, I think I read somewhere that it was recently renovated. Old signage from previous business is still up. Plenty of parking! Will definitely come back for different options of food! Menu is vast and looking forward to my next visit.

Welcome to Hercules Aroy Thai Bistro! Aroy replaced Won Thai in the Willows Plaza and brought a more modern interior with tasty Thai grub. Tried their lunch takeout with my family today for the first time and overall enjoyed it. The takeout was neatly packaged in plastic takeout containers and those with sauce in a plastic bag just in case of leakage. Some of the portions seemed a bit small and could have used more of the protein but each of the dishes packed a flavor punch and it was just enough to feed 4 people. -Crab fried rice -honey garlic wings -eggplant with chicken - pad see ew with shrimp -salmon Penang curry Very tasty - give them a try! Look forward to dining in person!

Excellent tasty food! This place seems like a hidden gem in a nondescript suburban shopping center. We had two lunch specials and ordered the sweet and sour fish. Everything was so good. The sweet and sour fish veggies had a lovely smokiness to it from the wok. We got a complimentary bite of ice cream at the end. The space was very clean and our server was pleasant and friendly. I will totally come back.

Went to this new Thai spot in Hercules and come to find out that it was it used to be an old Thai place called Won Thai. Aroyo Thai Bistro is very nice, it's small but has a good amount of seating that plays jazzy music that gives a cozy dining experience. The server greets you and seats you when you come in. They are very nice and attentive. They have a good variety of choices on their menu. Got fresh spring rolls, pad Thai, rad na (wide rice noodles with gravy), fried banana w/ ice cream, and Thai tea. The food was very good and tasty. The presentation of everything looked very nice and appealing. Will come back and try other things on the menu.

Excellent customer service. Wait staff was welcoming, attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasant with simple& stylish modern decor and feels very clean. The entrees we ordered had deliciously balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the chicken Larb salad, their special chicken fried rice, basil beef and the yellow chicken curry. Loved that they included a complimentary mini sweet treat after our dinner. This place is a nice new addition to the neighborhood. Located in small shopping plaza with ample parking, conveniently close to freeway exit. Good to come with family or with kids or date night.

My second visit to this new Thai restaurant since they opened last month, and this time I invited a friend to join me. We ordered the Krapow Moo Krob, Nam Khao Salad, Tom Yum Soup, Crab Fried Rice, Crispy Pork, and Fried Catfish with Stir-Fried Basil. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Tom Yum Soup was excellent, not watery at all, with the perfect balance of umami, sweetness, and sourness without being overly tart. The Krapow Moo Krob was outstanding; the crispy pork was perfectly crunchy and paired beautifully with the flavorful sauce. The Crispy Pork was cooked to perfection, remaining crispy with every bite. The food continues to be authentic, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The hospitality and service were excellent as well. Please keep up the great work and continue serving the community with such wonderful food and warm service. Highly recommended!

Everything here was amazing, pretty good Thai spot in rodeo, definitely worth checking out. We had the pad Thai, and the Thai beef noodles were my favorite ! I wish they gave me a little more soup for the Thai beef noodles bc the noodles do soak all the soup. One thing I would suggest is that they have the sauce condiments but no spoons for it! Hopefully they will get better containers and spoons for it bc their sauces was good! Esp the fish sauce with Thai chili pepper.

Party of two went around 3pm on a weekend. It is where Won Thai used to be. Modern interior, nice playlist. We enjoyed the grilled pork neck with tamarind dipping sauce. It paired well with the sticky rice we ordered. The crab fried rice was delicious as well, you can taste real crab. The sweet and sour fish is a must try. I liked how crispy the fish was and how it was not drenched in sweet and sour sauce. The roti was the perfect end to the meal. I am already looking forward to trying their other dishes!

Used to be called "Won Thai Cuisine". After a name change and upscale remodel this is still one of our favorite Thai restaurants in Contra Costa. The restaurant is quiet, relaxing, and has attentive service. The food tastes authentic and has lots of flavor. Everything tastes fresh and reminds me of Thai food in San Francisco. Our go to is beef pad kee mao, coconut chicken curry, & fried banana ice cream. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend trying this place.

Had a wonderful experience here in Hercules. We tried the coconut shrimp, fried calamari, chicken satay, spicy catfish, fried chicken fried rice, and mango sticky rice, and everything was delicious. The chicken satay stood out--it was juicy and flavorful, not dry at all, and served with peanut sauce and pickled cucumbers that complemented it perfectly. The fried chicken fried rice was also very satisfying, with great flavor and crispy fried chicken on top. The mango sticky rice was a great way to end the meal. Everything tasted well-balanced and suited our palate. Looking forward to coming back again.

Always down to try food, we drove to this restaurant. Parking was easy and spacious and seating was simple. We went in at opening, so we sat down right away. The table we sat on had their light a bit too high, but it was not too much of a bother. I already had in mind what I wanted to order, so we started with appetizers and a soup, prior to getting our entree. Tom Kha (Coconut Soup): I have had this before at other restaurants, so I wanted to compare it this place. Honestly, it was just alright. It had quite a bit of spice to it, since every soup spoonful had some peppers in it. The mushrooms and chicken were good, and the ginger and lemongrass had a nice herby flavor. But it didn't had the same sour taste I was expecting for this soup. It was a bit more sweeter than I would like. Appetizer combo: You get two of, Chicken Satay, Fried wonton, tofu, fried calamari, and spring roll. This was quite good and a nice starter. My favorite was the fried tofu with the sweet Thai chili for dipping. For the price, it is good to share between two people. Pad Gra Prow (Basil Chicken): Always my favorite at eating at any Thai place. I usually go for Basil "protein" or Eggplant "Protein". The Basil leaves added the flavor I expected from this dish and all the vegetables and chicken worked together. The only thing I was disappointed was the spice level. I wasn't asked (unless that cannot be changed) so it was rather mild in any spice level. If I could have made it spicier, I think the dish would have been perfect for me. Overall, I had a great time here. Food was good and company was great. I can see myself coming back here again.

The interior has a ton of things to look at including two giant murals of Laos and Thailand. In the front there is a bench for you to take pictures at in front of a wall of greenery and flowers. Stopped by this week for a late birthday celebration. The food: Recommended without reservation - Nam Khao - my favorite dish in Hercules. It's one of those dishes that has everything - chewy crunch from crispy rice, fresh crunch from lettuce wrap, herby cilantro and mint, crunch from peanuts, chewy from pork, sweet, salty, sour, umami, and slightly spicy. Somehow it all comes together in one of the tastiest, albeit messiest, wraps in this world. Tilapia Rad Prik - tilapia, fried whole until crispy and slathered in a sweet chili garlic sauce. This is a sweet and slightly tangy flavor bomb. A little bit hard to navigate the bones, but it's worth it. Recommended - Thai Papaya Salad - fresh, not too sweet or spicy. This one generally the whole family will eat. Mom and dad liked the Lao one but I think it was a bit too fishy for some of the family members. Mango with Sticky Rice - I think it's a solid version here. Rice is a little on the softer side of ideal. Red Curry - solid. Reasonable amount of meat and veggies (green beans, bell peppers, bamboo shoots) The other dishes - Thai Laos Fried Rice - missing that sear flavor and a bit on the wet side. Beef was kind of chewy, so we're probably sticking to chicken or pork next time. Rad Nah - we ordered this dish with chicken. It comes with wide rice noodles, broccoli, and carrots. This is just a bit too saucy for me. Sauce is quite sweet with nothing to balance it. I wish the noodles were stir fried a little before going into the sauce. Overall, this restaurant has some fantastic dishes that keep us coming back.

My husband had the salmon curry and said it might be the best salmon he's ever eaten, which is high praise considering salmon is his go to dish. I tasted it and found it very succulent in a flavorful sauce. There was a good amount of perfectly cooked broccoli with it. The restaurant caters to all spice levels. I had eggplant and veggies with tofu and it was perfectly cooked. Not soaking in oil like often happens with eggplant. We saw other things on the menu we will definitely come back to try.
