I stopped by the Downtown PHX Farmer's Market just to try her food. HOP'N CREOLE CAKES $15 - These were very good. A nice crispy coating and tasty inside. Made with hearts of palm. The accompanying remoulade sauce was excellent with a lil spicy kick. Loved it. SMOKIN JACKFRUIT PO'BOY $15 - A large sandwich that could be split between two people (especially if you're wanting to sample/try other dishes). The BBQ sauce was yummy and I loved the crispy onion strings (I'd get them in everything if I could). The jackfruit itself was fine. I've had better, I've had worse. SHRIMP N GRITS $11 - Large portion. Very tasty and she's not skimpy with the shrimp. PEACH COBBLER $12 - This is the only item that I just straight up disliked. It wasn't good (measuring by southern standards), and it def wasn't worth 12 US bucks. If you're from the south and looking for an amazing and authentic peach cobbler in PHX, go to Nana's Soulfood Kitchen in Chandler. Overall, I'd return to try other items.

I've been to this vendor several times. First time was a delight, second time ok, third time a disaster and I tried to resolve it with the owner but she was very different than the other times I went to her booth. She had an offer on TooGoodToGo, had more than 5 available for sale, I bought 2 offers. It was a $21 value for 6.99 it's for them to move overstock or products they want to sell of at end of day. When I went to pick it up, she gave me a small bag and when I said I had bought two she added one item in a small container..here's what she said was a $42 value---a medium container of beans and rice, a bag of potato chips, and a very small thin fruit desert. That's it. No entree, and these items were maybe $4-6 each at most, although that would have been overpriced for chips. Here's some pictures. I tried to address it with her, and am surprised and disappointed in her response. She seemed like such a caring, honest and dedicated gal before. Nope. Turns out the other 2 images got submitted to TooGoodToGo i thought I had them here but just the little dessert. The other was the rice and beans, and chips

The Mac N Cheese is so good, it was a little spicy and not like a normal mac n cheese! The blueberry lemonade is so sweet and yummy too!

We had a reservation for seven and they had a table waiting for us. It was a very, very busy evening, better server was right there taking our order and giving us updates. I absolutely love Cajun food, and I have really enjoyed everything I've ever eaten here. We got kind of a variety of items from the menu, starting with the amazing hush puppies. I just love the horseradish sauce that it served with! The evening went smoothly with good food and good service. They also have always had live blues music when we've gone, which I really like. There are other seafood places that call themselves cajun, but Baby Kay's is not a seafood restaurant that's Cajun, it's more of a Cajun restaurant that has seafood. If you come here on a Friday or saturday, I really advise a reservation, which can be made by calling the restaurant.

For me, I'm relatively new to it besides po boys and jambalaya. I've had Baby Kay's on my list for a while, and we happened to be nearby. We stopped in on a Saturday around noon. It wasn't packed, but wasn't dead. The decor is Mardi Gras. We had a hard time deciding what to try so we decided to try items we already know well and get a baseline for the flavors. We shared the shrimp po boy w/ fries and the rice & beans with sausage. We also had a side salad that came with the rice & beans. All in all everything was good. We would come back and try some other things, including the crawfish. Staff was friendly, and service was quick.

We got a crab and shrimp bundle. That's normally $35 for 20! We were able to easily add on sausages, extra corn, potatoes, different sauces, hard-boiled eggs, and more! They even had a side of lo mein noodles. We tried on the side. Definitely recommend this location, especially because they actually debate their shrimp. I am not trying to eat any poo Shout out to the chefs to the creators of this place seasoning is on point! My boyfriend did say number three isn't as spicy. Rose was polite and efficient. This location is in a large shopping center with ample parking. It was about 2-3 mins off the freeway. The atmosphere was very lively and friendly. This was the exact opposite of the other location where everyone appeared unhappy. The manager was very friendly as well. The food was delicious. The Cajun fries are yummy! I still wish they weren't so stingy with the red beans and rice. Overall, much better experience. I highly recommend this location! Manager was great!

She made sure the outdoor tv was tuned into our game and took great care of us. We always get the mozzarella logs here! They are the stretchiest, most crunchy and delicious mozzarella sticks anywhere. And they are great every time we get them. I had a Cosmo and appreciated the handmade version they serve. Perfect. I also had the blackjack chicken sando- solid offering. Their wings were good but had lots of those hairs on them so my husband was forced to eat them all. Chicken hairs do not bother him, apparently. Guess I won't be shaving my legs this winter having learned this. Their onion rings have a great batter with a slightly spicy kick. I didn't take pictures of anything but the stretchy cheese this time. Next time!! One star knocked off for the prison grade toilet paper. It's in a weird cage that you can only take one square at a time of this flimsy offering no matter how you finger pull it. So ladies...stay away from the beer maybe.
