Came for the Taco Tuesday deal! My order got mixed up and ended up with more carnitas and chicken than al pastor than I wanted, which were quite dry and difficult to finish. The al pastor is a bit untypical, maybe missing citrus? In the end, it was not exactly the taste I was looking for but it was one limited experience of mine. First time trying Nazo Taco and so happy we did! Chips Salsa and Beans were tasty & the salsa had some heat!! Chorizo Potato and Eggs Burrito was fantastic and good sized portion. I rarely post reviews, the place has to be outstandingly good (or bad) before you will see anything from me. They are in my Good Book. A month or so ago I had the Pasole Rojo, most excellent. Tonight is was their BBQ Beef plate, same rating. On the beef dish it is obvious they simmer/cook the meat in the sauce/broth, not just ladle it over precooked meat. Extremely tender and nicely spiced/flavored. The lady at the counter was pleasant, helpful and sweet. All of this made for a nice night out. read more

I've been eating at Taco Nazo after the gym for years, I can't believe I've never reviewed this place! It's a charming little strip-mall joint with solid food, and a surprising amount of protein-forward options like the Meat Combo, pork chile verde, and their specialty Pozole Blanco, my #1 favorite thing they serve. Tip: ask for the pozole sauce! It's nuclear-spicy (I'm a wimp) but so delicious I subject myself to a drop of pain with every bite. New ownership (I think?) has the place cleaned up and decorated in a fun style, without any major changes to the already-great menu. And they have micheladas and margaritas now, too! It's also the only place I know of with Manzanita Sol (red apple soda) in the fountain soda machine. read more

The location is sketchy--lots of homeless and other interesting sorts of folks wandering around the parking lot, but once you are inside, deliciousness awaits. I'm honestly shocked this place does not have better reviews overall. I mean, you walk in and it seems like a million other places but there's a pretty stark difference when you taste the food. The portions are pretty generous; when I got my plate I was like "no chance I'm eating all this" but after my tastebuds got ahold of it that was a wrap so to speak. I found these guys from a Facebook group thread talking about the best Mexican in Tempe. Sorry to say I didn't find anything particularly rewarding. The food wasn't terrible but very greasy and lacked flavor. The guacamole was obviously old. The hot saucer was tart. Spicy but also lacked flavor. Hope it was fresh because I didn't feel great after I ate but it could have been the greasy factor. I had chicken fajitas and my wife had rolled tacos which she really hated. I went in and found the place a little dated but sometime those are the hidden gems. We went up to the counter to order and I could see the cook in the back wiping/scratching his nose on his apron. He was not wearing a mask or gloves. I mentioned this to the nice guy taking orders (who was not wearing either) and asked why is the cook preparing food without gloves? He said they do not have masks but have gloves. He took the gloves from the cash register area and took them back to the cook who was kneading hamburger. It seemed like they had received no guidelines from their employer. Even before COVID shouldn't the cook wear gloves? read more

After driving passed this place for years we figured we should give it a try since we love Mexican food. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and my husband ordered the fajita plate. I ate 2 tacos and barely and beans or rice, within 15-20 minutes my stomach started turning and I got nauseated. Same thing happened to my husband about 35 minutes later. I'm grateful we have two bathrooms because we are both sick with upset stomachs and feeling green sickly from food poisoning. Definitely disappointed, and won't be back. read more

Uber Eats, you found us a GEM!!! A freaking GEM. We ordered the Chile Relleno combo, Carne Asada Nachos & Caldo de Res. It was all very good. My husband said that the Chile Relleno was spicier than he's comfortable eating but he ate it anyway because it was just that good. The Caldo de Res was awesome. I would have given a 5 had they put Salsa in my bag. I ordered Posole on Uber eats or one of the delivery services. The food was an 8 just cause who eats posole without lemon and salsa. maybe my 7 year old and even she prefers a couple drops of salsa in her food. PLEASE consider giving salsa to all customers even if you charge more. or give less food whatever it takes. read more
