We went with the Cajun seasoning, and it does have a solid kick to it. The corn and potatoes were a nice balance, helping cut through the spice a bit. The corn in particular was a standout: you get that sweet, salty, and spicy all at once, which was really satisfying. Everything came well-prepped and cleaned, so eating wasn't a hassle, and there's a fun, hands-on element to the whole experience that made it even more enjoyable. I ordered the headless shrimp with lemon pepper flavor, medium spice and it was lacking flavor and wasn't really spicy at all. Hubby & I took our twins here tonight for their 24th birthday. We always have to go somewhere where our son can get crab for their birthday here. Our son of course ordered the snow crab boil & added a pound of crab with medium kickin spice daughter ordered the popcorn shrimp & Cajun fries. Hubby ordered the fish tacos & Cajun dry rub wings spicy. I ordered the popcorn shrimp with regular fries. We also got a calm chowder for our son & I to share. They didn't have the beer that hubby wanted. In fact they didn't have many beers they had listed. He got a different beer. They don't have draft just bottles. I tried the peach soju. I didn't care for it, so I stuck with water. The kids got fountain drinks. Our son loved his boil. However, you only get 1 small potato, 1 small corn & 2 slices of sausage pieces. Hubby really liked the fish tacos. He only ate 2 of the 6 wings. They weren't spicy & 1 of the wings was not totally cooked. There were weird bites, like the cheapest chicken wings possible. Our daughter & I liked the shrimp & fries. There was a ton of fries. They were crispy. I did not like the clam chowder. It was not thick. The potatoes were very small; like they were diced small. If there were clams, they too were died so small you couldn't tell any were in it. Before the tip it was $198+ & not worth the price for the food you get. There were only 2 servers. My boyfriend and I went to check out this location as I wanted to have a Cajun Seafood Boil. If I eat meat, I tend to eat seafood and decided to treat ourselves to some. For a Thursday at 4pm, they were very slow and seated immediately with only two other tables. Loved being able to get a half booth and take in all the beautiful decor. I really liked the light fixtures and the restaurant had a spacious feel. Loved that they can substitute the sausage for corn or potatoes since I don't do pork. The Snow Crab with Kickin' Style seasoning and a spicy level was great. It complimented the crab very well and my boyfriend was impressed with his frozen crawfish (since it's not in season) & shrimp. He's from Orlando, and I know he's very particular on his seafood. I'm an Arizona native, so I don't know fresh fresh seafood outside of the few times traveling. Our server was amazing! The receipt said Johnathan N since we didn't get his name, but wanted to recognize the exceptional welcome as our first visit. Heck, he even encouraged us to return! Great seafood boil. We got calamari, 2 pounds of shrimp (the special comes with 2 potatoes 2 corn and sausage), seafood pasta. Everything was so well done. The shrimp was so easy to peel and had great flavor. Not small size either. It was cooked perfectly and super juicy. They provide you with tons of lemon slices. The sauce was flavorful but not too overwhelming so you want to just keep eating and eating. Slight hint of butter at the end but never tasted too heavy. I want to go back immediately. There can be a long wait and they seem a little understaffed. But after you get seated service was swift, pleasant, and food arrived rather quickly. Shoutout to the staff there! read more

First time at this location. Wasn't great either. First off, in order to be seated, you just have to stand in a line and wait at the front until they have an open table and then acknowledge you. No one actually takes your name so you can wait outside or anything. Finally got seated. It was freezing cold in there, but thank goodness we didn't get seated under an air vent. We started by ordering half a dozen oysters as an app, and they never came. Saw the table next to us receive some, but never us. When we received our seafood bucket, we told the person dropping off our meal that we never received our oysters and she says she'll go check on them. Never saw her again. 15-20 mins later, our server comes out to confirm we never got the oysters and we tell her just to cancel them at this point. She says she'll let her manager know. After she walks away, we realize when we get to the crab claws of the snow crab, that we were never given crab crackers. We're finally able to wave her down after a few more mins and she says she'll bring some back. She grabs a pair from a dirty table and goes to the back to have them washed. She brings back one pair after about 5 mins and says she'll look for another because that's all they have available. Mind you, the restaurant is not as busy at this point. Less than half the tables are full although it was packed when we originally got there. It's actually not a big deal. One will do for two of us. Just wanted to make that note to let people know to bring their own if you plan on dining here. When we've finished, immediately after we take off our gloves, another employee drops off our check. We were never asked if we wanted a refill on beers/drinks and never asked if we needed anything else. Do they have dessert? I wouldn't know. On the check, we noticed that they don't price items individually, so our seafood bucket where we ordered crab, shrimp, potatoes, and sausage was just one lump sum, so I don't know if they charged us properly unless I decide to ask to look at the menu again. Even though a manager never came to speak to us, the oysters were not on our bill, so either they were forgotten from the start, or they were just removed from the bill. I also noticed that they help you figure out suggested tip amounts and they don't calculate it based on tax, so that was a bonus. All in all, the food was ok, but the service was slow. I actually felt bad for our server. She wasn't rude or anything, but from the moment she greeted us, she seemed very timid and lost. I'm not sure if she was new, but she doesn't seem very confident waiting tables. Would I come back, probably not. Be warned: the lighting is REALLY dark in here. Like, I was straining my eyes to try to read the menu lol. My table of 4 got seated pretty quickly on a Friday night, and our server was very nice. We got the Kickin' Bucket #3 to share (lobster, shrimp, mussel, and crawfish) along with +2 corn and an order of extra potatoes. We went with the Kickin' Style flavouring + medium spice level, and I would say the food came out pretty fast. I LOVE SHRIMP, and I thought the shrimp was super good. The mussels were also standouts, and the crawfish, despite being frozen, was also pretty good as well. I didn't really get to try the lobster. I didn't think the spice level was that bad until I got to the very end, and it felt SPICY. The Kickin' Style flavour though was great, and I would recommend this. The value of the bucket though I think wasn't all that there; it would be more cost effective to get the #2 bucket or to order ala cart of a pound of everything we got anyways. The only difference is the addition of the lobster or crab, but you don't really get a lot of meat in those ones. BUT... I think #3 is a really good choice to get for birthdays (who can resist taking a picture holding up the lobster?). But on a regular night out? I wouldn't bother with it. For 4 people, honestly I don't think #3 was enough food. One of us tapped out early, and the rest of us felt that we could have eaten more food (but opted not to). So I requested a side of just garlic butter so I can dip the pieces in so it won't be so hot. After waiting almost 10 minutes for the side of butter, they brought me a ramekin of almost solid butter. Stopped by last Monday night for dinner and it was pretty busy! I only saw two servers working so they stayed busy the entire time we were there. We were seated and after a few minutes, the server came to our table. We got waters and placed our order: One clam chowder soup One side of sweet potato fries Two white steamed rice's One pound of HOT headless shrimp One order of boiled eggs One order of sausages Two corns One order of potatoes The soup and sweet potatoes came out first and the shrimp boil not long after. The clam chowder soup was lukewarm and had no flavor. It also had corn in it which I was not a fan of. The sweet potatoes were cold but they tasted good. The steamed rice was cooked well and it was steaming hot. The boil was also not as hot as I wanted it to be, it was just warm. The spice level was great though. Probably the best thing about this restaurant is that when you order takeout they don't cheap out on all of the extras that you need. They also do a really good job when you go to the restaurant. Craving seafood and thought I try something different then angry crabs. Ordered dozen oysters and calamari. Oysters were nice, plump and fresh. Good size oysters and very clean tasting. By the size I'm guessing it's Nola oysters. Calamari was also pretty good. Wish it was little more crispy but had nice Cajun seasoning. Ordered #3 with snow crabs, clams, shrimp, and mussels. Medium heat with they kickin seasoning . I didn't feel like getting my hands dirty so I put on the gloves. Little too big and pain in the butt but kept my hands some what clean. Ordered extra spicy sauce to dip my food in. Not hot at all, little disappointed. Over all clam was yummy, mussels were pretty good. Shrimp with head was not much to eat after removing the shell. Crab legs were also pretty yummy. Over all I think seasoning is way better than angry crabs. Although angry crab spicy is very spicy. Ended up ordering another dozen oysters and snow crab special. She was always checking on us making sure we were good making sure we had what we needed. The ambience was good. Had a couple TVs in their little music playing. The crowd. Volume was good as well. It's pretty big and spacious inside! They got busier after I sat down. I wasn't really feeling seafood boil so I just got clam chowder and had a few of my friend's cajun fries. My friend ordered 1lb shrimp (medium spice) along with her fries and the other ordered 1lb mussels (medium spice). My clam chowder was good but tasted like any other clam chowder. Cajun fries were eh. I like Angry Crab's cajun fries and cajun dip better. My friends liked their shrimp and mussel order. One said medium was too spicy and the other said medium wasn't spicy enough. I dipped a fry in each of their bags to try their sauces and neither were spicy enough for me. I tried the shrimp from this place in march when my other friends had a seafood night at the house. There were 4 bags of shrimp total from here. 2 head on (1 medium, 1 mild spice), and 2 headless (1 medium, 1 mild spice). The shrimp tasted fresh and were a decent size. I like VERY spicy so definitely didn't care for mild and the medium still wasn't spicy enough for me lol. Service was great! They're quick and attentive. We arrived at opening and they were not busy at all. Still, our server chose to take an order from a couple who arrived after my husband and I did. We came for the crawfish & paid extra for fresh instead of frozen. Unfortunately they were terrible! The sauce was great but the crawfish were terrible. They were impossible to peel, and tasted nasty! The sausage was good, the corn was absurdly overcooked and mushy. You don't get dinnerware... just a small paper tray (French fry size). We left a lot of food behind. One fun thing is the sinks they have outside the restrooms I would not give them another chance. I will drive the extra distance to Pier 88 next time. read more

Q: Did you hear about the Crab that went to the gym? A: He pulled a mussel! When your BFF in California says this is her favorite seafood boil spot, you go! On my first trip, I got the coconut sea snails ($13), 1lb frozen crawfish ($15) in mild Kickin' sauce, and 1lb head-on shrimp ($17) in medium lemon pepper sauce. Everything was honestly good! The coconut sea snails sat in the loveliest and creamiest coconut curry sauce. It was bright with lemongrass with the subtle heat of the chilis adding some depth. I asked for a lid just to take the sauce home with me so I could eat it over rice. I also really enjoyed the lemon pepper sauce on the excellently cooked head-on shrimp At most seafood boil places, they tend to overcook the shrimp and the texture of rubbery body and soggy head is gross when it happens but they place cooked it well. The lemon pepper sauce wasn't bad either. I still would rather dip the shrimp in fresh lemon with salt and pepper but it was good. As for the crawfish, I was bummed that they had frozen crawfish but it's not their fault I went for crawfish during off-season. Frozen crawfish isn't as fun. 4-stars for now but I can definitely see that rating going up during crawfish season. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while now. I often go to hot and juicy but the last handful of visits their shrimp was literal mush and inedible. I decided to give up on hoping they would get their stuff together and I headed to try Kickin Crab tonight. They weren't busy at all which I didn't mind, I'm not a fan of packed dining establishments. It had a casual inside which is my vibe. I'm not super fancy. We were greeted and sat promptly. The waitress was nice and quick to take our order. I normally opt for head on shrimp but I went with head off and deveined. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. The flavor was pretty good too! I prefer a slightly thicker sauce so it gets a nice stick to the shrimp but the flavor was there so it worked. I added sausage to my lb of shrimp. Sausage was just okay. I'm not sure it was the typical andouille type sausage. It wasn't bad but it wasn't delicious either. The fried shrimp was amazing, fries were just okay. I'd probably skip the gumbo next time and try something else. All in all, I will definitely be back for some shrimp. I'll try garlic noodles next time too. read more
