Combining ingredients like coffee ice cream and glazed donut, or Oreos and peanut butter ice cream, just for examples. Of course they have vanilla, chocolate, and other common scoops. In addition to dairy ice cream, they have vegan options as well, which were also very good of the ones we tried. If you'd like to have two flavors in a single serving, you have the option of having two half single scoops, without having to get two scoops. Upon entering, you are greeted by friendly staff and possibly a line, but it moves fast. Besides, how long is too long to wait for some of the the best ice cream you've ever had. Whether you are lured in by word of mouth or the smell of their homemade waffle cones wafted into the street, you'll be saying mayday all day everyday afterwards. I love this ice shop. They have innovative flavors such as aviator (Nutella inspired), coffee & donuts, key lime, blueberry crumble and lots more. I ended up getting the Cookie crush which is a diary free ice cream with Oreos. The texture of the ice cream is more like sorbet but made with coconut milk. We live out of town, but have visited St. Augustine a few times and Mayday is always on our "'must" list. The first time we tried it, we all agreed that it was the best ice cream we had ever had. I love that they offer flights as I am someone who is quite indecisive and like to try out all the flavors. I also love that they offer dairy free options. The two young ladies staffing the counter were super sweet and offered us samples so we could pick the perfect flavor. I picked the bourbon praline in a waffle cone and it was great. I was very happy with my decision and had a great time sampling unique flavor combinations before making a final decision. My boyfriend and I ordered the kiddie size (half a scoop), which I found to be a good size for a little something sweet without the over indulgence. Making a decision on the flavor was hard because the samplings were all so delicious. Wow what a fantastic find in St. Augustine! I stumbled upon Mayday while walking towards Kilwins for Ice cream. The inside is a little small, but there is plenty of outdoor seating though. The service: The counter person was very friendly and let us try all the flavors we wanted, and also asked if we wanted their homemade sprinkles and waffle piece placed in as well which was an easy yes-sir! The Ice cream: I got a wingman (3 half scoops) and ended up with the following flavors: Coffee & Donuts, Cookie Crunch, and Bourbon Pecan. The Coffee & donuts was honestly one of the best ice cream flavors ive had the pleasure of enjoying... the other two were also extremely good and you could tell it was high quality ice cream. Their sprinkles were good, but honestly if you can tell they are homemade compared to your standard sprinkle good on you.
