3 Chicken Wings with French Fries
    LaKisha B.

I should've read the reviews on here before placing my order! I just wanted some fried chicken wings. That's it, that's all. I opened the bag containing my food and was beyond disgusted. The wings looked rather stale and didn't look edible. The fries were overcooked. Like bro what is this?! I'm not understanding how they thought this was ok to give to a customer. This particular location has a 4.7 rating on UberEats and I'm just wondering how and why?! Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

I'm giving this review 4 stars for the food alone. I purchased my order to dine in and here is my experience. Cons: The place is small and not great for dining in. I sat by the door which was very cold and uncomfortable. Please call your order in as the wait may be a little time especially if your on your lunch break. Also I felt there lunch specials were a bit pricey than other carry outs. Pros: The Food is AMAZING! It has a very fresh authentic taste to it. I had spicy shrimp and broccoli and spring rolls. I've also tried there kung pow chicken too. So far so good! Very tasty.

Kung pao chicken when you remove all of the chicken, peanuts and water chestnuts- basically celery and carrots in a flavorless sweet sauce

I ordered the beef Szechuan. The portion was huge and tastes delicious. For a hole in the wall this place is really good.

Multiple spaces were adjacent, including two other storefronts in the same building as this Chinese restaurant, which has been here for a while through the troubles. Despite the fact that this area is home for me, I never visited this restaurant, mainly because the Vietnamese standby across the street drew my business. But with them gone, I found excuse to try this dumpling spot. I have to say, I didn't expect anything great and it exceeded my expectations. Pickup was not the smoothest; I discovered that ordering through one of the apps does not give them your name so I sat for a bit before it was finally determined what order was mine. I sampled a fried tofu dish, and while I have eaten quite a lot of fried tofu at Chinese restaurants over my years, this preparation was different from anything I've had. It was breaded and cooked with what seemed like a dry fry technique, and had ample dried chilis and peanuts. The salty flavor in addition to the dryness was a lot to take and I mixed it with other things, but it was interesting. A black mushroom salad was saucy and not spicy. I wasn't sure what their generically named vegetable dumplings might yield, but it was an aromatic and texturally interesting mix of greens and mushrooms, and came with both a vinegar-based sauce and some chili crisp, and the portion was big enough to be worth the price. There were other vegetarian options to try, and my first visit convinced me that they might be worth trying.

They offer Option A for $38 and Option B for $48 with Option B including additional dishes like General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, and more. We chose Option B and ordered a little bit of everything! Our table was filled with fried and steamed dumplings, bao buns, General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, vegetable fried rice, and several soups. The beef brisket soup was one of my favorites and the fish dish we tried was also really good. Everything came with flavorful sauces that made each dish even better. The cocktails were also a highlight. I had a refreshing lychee cocktail (I unfortunately don't remember the name) and it had the perfect balance, not watered down and actually had a good kick! They also offer a bottomless all-you-can-drink option for $18, which is a great add-on if you plan to stay and enjoy the experience. The service was great, the team came back around often to check on you and provide refills and take your next round of orders for the all-you-can-eat. The food came out fast as well, it was as if they were just continuously cooking it. Overall, I really enjoyed trying so many different dishes, especially as someone new to dim sum. It's a fun option for groups because there's so much variety to share. Would absolutely go back! I've already recommended Han Palace to friends and will definitely be back the next time I'm in D.C.!

Loved the flakiness of the dough and subtle sweetness of the veggies. - Korma chop (fried noodles with chives, onions, red bell peppers, and tofu): Noodles had a nice chewy texture. I got the Hot spice level and wish I'd gone down a level to get a better taste of the dish's original sauce. - Mango doghap: Reminded me of mango lassi. Not too sweet and pleasantly tangy. The desserts, though, were maybe my favorite part of the meal. All had the perfect amount of sweetness: - Kazandibi (Turkish milk pudding with a caramelized, slightly burnt bottom layer): Really liked this pudding. - Honey cake: Ugh the honey with the soft cake with the whipped cream = actual heaven. - Dolan cake (Homemade puffed pastry with Walnuts, Buttery cream filling, and a Chocolate drizzle): Also really good! Very different than the other desserts given the crunchiness and butteriness from the puff pastry and walnuts. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is really nice, I enjoyed viewing the traditional art pieces. Also, super convenient because it's literally right next to the Red metro line. 10/10 would recommend!

The food itself was extremely disappointing, but what made the experience even worse was the fact that our order was missing ingredients that were supposed to be part of the dishes. When we questioned why our meal had no vegetables, we were told that they had simply been left out. That's not something we expected, especially given what we ordered. To make matters worse, we were rushed out and told that we needed to leave because the restaurant was closing. What was especially uncomfortable was seeing other customers upstairs who were still eating, ordering food, and being loud. When we asked why they were allowed to stay while we were being asked to leave, the owner told us that they were "special customers." That comment was extremely off-putting and left us feeling as though we were being treated as less important or less welcome. The only positive part of the experience was our waiter, who was polite and pleasant despite the situation. Overall, between the disappointing food, missing ingredients, and the way we were treated at the end of the meal, this was a very unpleasant experience. We certainly expected better and, unfortunately, would not return based on this experience.

Advice: sitting outside might be better in the cooler weather because we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes and fighting off flies. I really hope that they consider some type of nature oils near the tables to help guests feel more comfortable outdoors. Also, it would help to get more than one fan. Hospitality: aside from the bugs encounter, I would say that we did not have reservations (they were packed inside) so the hostess was nice enough to accommodate us outdoor. Our waiter, Anthony was a ball of energy and he really understands the dishes and was able to give great recommendations, some of which we plan to try on our next visit. Portions: the dishes are shareable so we only ordered the beef noodles and walnut shrimp and both were more than enough for a party of 2. DRINKS: I ordered the dark and stormy which can best be described as not too sweet and perfect for anyone desiring a well balanced drink. The bourbon smash was also really good. Well balanced with a smoky flavor which I loved. FOOD: Beef noodles- gosh this was so divine! Be warned however, there is a bit of spice to it but nothing that you won't be able to handle. I think the spices paired with the preparation of the noodles and the beef all made this dish memorable. Walnut shrimp- another memorable dish which came with a side of white rice. The shrimps were HUGE! But the flavors on each shrimp paired with that crunchy texture and creamy sauce, spectacular! Safe to say that we enjoyed both dishes and cannot wait to return and reserve indoor tables lol

I don't even know how to describe the energy in this place, but you can just feel it the moment you walk in. The restaurant has a dark aesthetic that gives it such a cool, cozy ambiance. My daughter and I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons. Everything was so filling that we ended up ordering another bowl of the Dan Dan noodles! And honestly, I still crave them. The Dan Dan noodles were SO good. The sauce was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, and there was a generous amount of minced pork that balanced everything out really well. The wontons paired perfectly with the chili sauce that came with them! They were spicy--my ears turned red and my nose started running--but I literally could not stop going back for another bite. Even the wontons alone were incredibly filling. I don't live anywhere near this place, and I genuinely wish I did. I traveled pretty far to get here, and I'd absolutely do it again. This was one of those meals that stays on your mind long after you've left!
