There were three musical performances at the beginning when there was another couple with us. After they left however, he began talking at us about politics and what he thinks. This was not story telling or comedy. He also gave a lot of unwarranted advice. We had to segway him out of his political rambles to get a couple more songs then left. This experience could have been better if there was more music and lighthearted topics instead.

The picture quality was more than sufficient for viewing the amazing works of artists and filmmakers. The subwoofers brought the rumbling during the first set of films, a little too strong if you ask me. But when they turned it down (probably at the request of attendees), the sound became echoey and a bit hard to understand for some of the later showings. It worked out though, and didn't take away too much from the overall experience. Seats in the auditorium were outdated but in decent condition, fold down cushions, a bit hard/stiff, comfortable enough. No cupholders at the seats though. And no reserved seating. Good news is, view of the stage and projector screen is pretty good from any seat in the house. Very basic offerings at the concessions stand, classic theatre refreshments... popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, and candy, along with 4 types of soda flavors. But at least they offer snacks and drinks here. We got some peanut m&ms and a small container of popcorn, it was nice and salty. Women's restroom is small and cramped with only 2 stalls, minimal space, the stall doors almost reach the sink when you open them. In the end, even with its imperfections, I liked the theatre as an event space. Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was very chill. It's a historic venue with appeal in its simplicity.

This is a historic movie theater so don't expect modern movie theater standards! The inside is absolutely beautiful though and I love admiring the interior everytime I'm inside. The theater is pretty intimate so any seat is still a good seat. Staff is always friendly and you can tell they genuinely enjoy their jobs. The manager was even kind enough to allow my friends to take their graduation pictures here before. For the $2 movie day, I saw Perfect Blue and was pleasantly surprised that staff said it was a full house! It seems like they have been trying to get more various showings of anime/animation in general and asked the audience for input and feedback. Overall, I'm glad Sacramento still has the Crest in place and I'm hoping to make it out to more movies here :)

It's a historic theater in downtown Sacramento that presents live entertainment, movies, and special events. What makes it unique is the stage in front of the screen, which gives it a classic, old-school vibe. She paid for the tickets ahead of time, but their system was down when we arrived. They had to check everyone in manually from a laptop. It was understandable things happen and the staff handled it as smoothly as they could. While she was confirming our tickets, I grabbed popcorn. Sadly, the popcorn was a little salty. Like most theaters, it was a little pricey. We may or may not have brought our own candy and drinks... don't tell anybody. It had a good crowd but wasn't too bad.We got some good seats. Since it's a historic theater and not a newer upscale cinema, the seats didn't recline and were a little small, but they were still comfortable enough I've seen Coming to America plenty of times on TV, but watching it on the big screen in a classic theater like this was a different experience. Overall, it was a great date night. Good movie, even better company. My girl definitely did her thing planning this one. My girl and I are definitely coming back again!!

I was excited for this one as I thought he was very funny on the Kevin Hart Netflix show promoting standup comedians. Show started at 9:15 pm, and we got sat pretty late, the prior show got out late. I loved the feel and setting of this venue. Our server this night was awesome, super cool & funny guy. This venue has a huge bar top along the back, tons of seating in the middle area, and a lot also on both sides. This was also just one room we saw the show in, not sure if that's their main room, or if it's the biggest room, but it was pretty intimate, not too big, which I prefer to watch live comedy in that type of venue, not arenas. I'll definitely be back here down the line for another show.

The staff here are very hardworking and nice. I never understood why comedy clubs force people to purchase items. Sometimes people don't want to drink or eat anything, and just want to enjoy the show, so why is it a thing? Alcoholic drinks start at ~ $15 and I think I seen one go for as much as almost $25? Food is pricey and is gas station quality. Makes it hard to enjoy the place when I'm forced to get something and it's not good ): I tried the chocolate cake ($13) and it was way too sweet. The $6 can of water was good. I will say they bring a good variety of comedians here but with how pricey and forced everything is, I rather just stay home and watch the comedians online / via streaming.

The class sizes are small enough that everyone gets a chance to participate, which really helped me build confidence. The community is welcoming, supportive, and genuinely inclusive. It has become a great way to reconnect with myself outside of work, laugh, be present, and find some balance in life. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. I am really grateful to have found this group and this space.
