On weekends (Friday & Saturday) they have shows at 7 PM & 9:30 PM. They usually have 3 comedians with their own segment. They may not be 5 star comedians - but you can enjoy the show and make it a 5 star night. The tickets are -$25 each with a 2 drink minimum. The drink prices are reasonable with a decent selection. The finger food menu is pretty good also. We ordered the hummus plate and chicken sliders. The sliders were a decent size. The first comedian is the "regular" local guy. He's just ok and I'm pretty sure I can take his spot but it's all about having a good time together. He gets the night going and pumps up tips for the staff. The headliner was good and had many laughs but on this night, the second comedian was even better. My vice in life is not being able to remember names but he was funny. A Filipino guy who had a good singing voice and great material. And did an impressive job engaging the audience. I'm sure he will be a headliner soon. read more

Had a great time with the family at Laughs Unlimited. Not only was it my first time at this legendary venue but it was my cousin Patty's first ever comedy show. Took her to see Saul Trujillo and he killed his set! All the staff here were extremely gracious. We had an absolute blast watching the comedians perform in the show room. I always assumed the theatre was just the stage you see driving by. To my shock there was a whole other room filled with a larger stage and tons of tables and chairs. Sound was immaculate as the comics were coming in loud and clear. The pretzel here was bomb! Their cheese spicy too. I would definitely order that again. Drinks came out quick. Although you're pretty close to other tables it never feels uncomfortable. Clean bathrooms and overall venue too. I love the location of this comedy venue being in the heart of Old Sacramento. As expected, most comedy venues are extremely small, barely any elbow room. I liked the fact that the mandatory 2 item purchase was at least reasonably priced. Entry and exit is chaos and confusion, as there is only one entry and exit. I'd return if the comedian is a MUST see. Good luck with parking too. We decided to check out Laughs Unlimited in Old Town Sac. Ticket prices were pretty reasonable at $25 per person, but there is a catch: once inside, there's a two-item minimum per person. Service was impressively quick--just two staff members were handling the entire room, and our food and drinks came out fast. The food itself was okay; we ordered the chicken ranch wrap and the chocolate cake. However, the two featured cocktails we tried were pretty disappointing--basically sugary syrup in a glass. The comedy, though, made up for it. The first comedian gave us some solid laughs. The second performer didn't really land with the crowd, and the room got pretty quiet. Wandering around Old Town and decided to give this place a try. Got the tickets right as we walked in, not too bad, then started drinking and hanging out. Be warned that there is a 2 item minimum AFTER you sit down for the show, and anything you get in the bar before that does not count. This would have been more ok to me if the food and cocktails weren't what I would call, absolutely awful. You gotta stick to beer/shots/wine if you go here, the cocktails are absolutely awful, just a bunch of sugar crap thrown together for the sake of making the cup a pretty color. You have been warned. We also got the chocolate cake and a ranch wrap. The chocolate cake tasted FULLY BURNT across the entire top, like it was sat right under a broiler. The Chicken Ranch Wrap was fine but it was quite strange to see olives falling out of it right off the bat. The hell do olives need to be in a crispy chicken wrap for. The comedy itself was fine, but the performer in the middle absolutely bombed, little to no laughs from the entire crowd, this doesn't reflect on the comedy club though, just happens. Laughs unlimited has been a staple in Old Sacramento since 1980. It's a great place to have a fun time, the owner Jenny is amazing, the bartenders make the best tasting drinks!!! the staff is so wonderful pleasant and friendly, not to mention the kitchen staff goes above and beyond, I've had their quesadillas so good and when I ordered the nachos they give you so much loved how fresh everything was they even have a hummus wrap for a great vegan option everything is worth the price!!! The buffalo chicken dip is to die for, there are a good amount of different varieties of food available. Great natural lighting from the skylights during the day, and when it gets dark the lighting is just as amazing plenty of seating in the bar area and surrounding the bar very nostalgic. The bathrooms are clean and stocked with toiletries, in the show room lots of tables and seats to enjoy the show, the stage is nice and lit very well, they have shows quite often it depends on what days they have comedians, you can pre buy tickets online or pay when you get here it's reasonably priced at 25 dollars a person with a two item minimum but it can be soda or water or alcoholic beverages, non alcoholic cocktails or even food. However, the nachos were weird. The cheese was warm but not melted, it was almost plastic. The quesadillas were good, but had quite a bit of crusty tortilla on the end where the cheese did not reach. The drinks tasted great. The service was quick and our server was kind. We saw 5 local-ish comedians and it was okay, but nothing special. Our tickets were only $10 so we didn't expect the best ever. The female staff were so rude. The bartender looked miserable and when we asked to buy some water, she pointed to the other end of the bar at some water jug and said there. We went to the bathroom and went back in sitting in the very back closest to the exit where we were told to be quiet after whispering something to my friend. The door lady was rude. Service sucked. I was charged $30 for two drinks that tasted horrible. Me and my friend didn't even drink them. Comedians were okay. However, when you don't feel welcomed at all.. it's not worth paying for. This is a fun night out if looking for something fun to do. We were lucky enough to catch Heath Harmison this past Saturday and the dude was hilarious. We laughed until our face hurt! Venue is pretty good but drinks are not that great, they were very sweet so I ended up choosing bottled water for my second required item. Overall my experience here was a miss! The comedians were all great from start to finish but the venue was a mess from start to finish. My boyfriend and I arrived around 9:24p for the 10:30 show so we decided to sit at the bar and grab a light drink before the show. We weren't sure if the offered food at the bar however 1. I knew the two item minimum inside and 2. The reviews on the food seemed horrid at best so drinks it was. To start the bartender was efficient and attentive so 5 stars there. The drinks there were fine. - raw experience began to go downhill when there was no rhyme or reason to hold to enter for the show. When I say it was an unorganized mess it was chaos. For this to be an established business with a long history of hosting events *SIDE EYE* just NO! The "line" or lack of was just all the patrons attempting to gain admittance to the room we all we're collectively stating the line situation was a mess. -Cue the second thing that made the experience a miss. word of advice fire everyone in the kitchen because ABSOLUTELY NOT! My expectations were below the bottom after I read the minimal reviews on Yelp but decisions had to be made as we had 4 items to run the tab up. BOTTOM LUNE EVERY ITEM WE ORDERED WAS TRASH In no particular order, -Nachos there was maybe 6-10 small pieces of chicken for the additional $3 we paid and even without the chicken added the nachos were blah at best. Our entire table was talking about how disgusting they looked lol. The beans were on the bottom and barely accessible and the cheese was shredded and not warm and gooey at all. - ordered another vodka and cran and paid up for Tito's.. did not get Tito's even tho we paid for it - ordered one of their signature mocktails it wA nothing to write home about. -finally we tried the one thing I saw a good review of and that was the lava cake and scoop of ice cream. It's the next day and I am still mind blown at how you can mess that up. The lava cake tasted burnt and just NO. I don't even know how to explain the taste but it was pretty bad. To make matters worse the baby scoop of ice cream just made me mad -_- Overall i wouldn't suggest ordering any of the above mentioned items or the salad and hummus (the other party at the table was not impressed) Since you have to order two items per guest do yourself a favor and order basic drinks but not their signature cocktails/mocktails The two stars that were earned were the comedians were hilarious and the server did offer great service 5 stars for that. As for returning I'm bummed that this is the place comedians choose to come and have their audience send their hard earned coins. Came here for a local comedy show, purchased the ticket on their website. Located in Old town sac, there's street parking that's metered until 10pm and has a 2 hour max, and there's a parking garage nearby. I thought the front bar waiting area was the actual venue but there's a showcase area, it's pretty big, bright lights, forward facing chairs, the menu is via QR code and you order through the server. There usually is a 2 item minimum which includes bottled water and food. Their cocktails are ok, more on the sweeter side, I got the island train or something, one of my friends got an old fashioned and it was a fruity old fashioned. The wait staff was all in masks to make you feel safe and comfortable. The lack of the fifth star is because of the food. However, you don't go for the food, and if you follow me, you know, I only reserve a 5-star rating for exceptional venues. This was an experience I will have to do again and again. Laughs Unlimited in Old Sac is a solid, clean spot to watch a show. I came in with my parents to an afternoon magic and comedy show on a Saturday afternoon. Tickets were easy to get online, but hefty service fees. We showed up a bit early, opting for the close parking in the cite garage off Capitol Mall. There were a bunch of cool old cars cruising right by, so we got an extra show before the show. Staff were friendly and informative for our first visit. Although you can grab a drink at the bar, they serve you in the club at your seat. Seats were comfortable enough for the hour plus we were there. There is a wide drink selection and food, with a standard two drink minimum. Mom had wine, dad iced tea, I tried a ginger ale and cherry mocktail that was fantastic, and a root beer. I love that there are no restrictions currently for covid. We didn't have to mask up unless we wanted to. We didn't have to show proof of vaccinations either. This place is right at the beginning of Old Town Sac. We bought tickets a few weeks prior to the event on 3/26 for a party of 6. The downside is that they don't seat you, you have to seat yourself. That can be difficult with a larger party but we got a few tables off to the side. We didn't eat anything since we came from a bday dinner at Joe's Crab Shack but we had some drinks which were good and the service was great! Loved the comedian (DShon) too altho the MC (A. Went to see Tony Baker and Keenan Baker with special guest Tahir Moore. That show was amazing and the venue is incredible. It's so nice to get to go out again. What a way to open the world back up then with a show this big. The staff was on point, super friendly, and the drinks were delicious and inexpensive. I cannot wait to go back and see another show here. I highly recommend getting your tickets to any show because I'm sure that show will be great. This location really knows how to pick its comics. They even has a silent comedy show outside while a different show was inside. How wild is that? I loved ever aspect of this experience. Fun place to check out! Hit or miss on the comedians, just depends on the night. Crowd does tend to be a little rough here, but if you go in with an open mind, have a few drinks and it'll be super fun. Drinks on the menu are SUPER SWEET. Opt for no salt in your margarita, you will get a layer of salt at the bottom of your drink that you'll just drink with the straw and go into shock from drinking straight salt. HOT Holy F. We went to see a show last night for our anniversary. It was like 108 outside. It was still INCREDIBLY hot inside. I understand it's an old building but that's no excuse. It was miserable. The drinks took around 25 minutes to get after we ordered. Both my partner and I were feeling yucky due to the heat. I went up to the bar to get cups of water. The bartender was SO RUDE!!!! He said "you want water, you buy water. Go order from your server" I have never wanted to scream at a bartender as much as I did that Ahole. How in that heat did they not have a jug of water and some cups for people?!?!?!!?!?! I told the girl checking people in and she told me he was horrible and if she could fire him she would and that he was the worst bartender. She said that was a task he was supposed to do, but he never does it. I ordered a cranberry with sprite and a cherry. He gave a me a shirley temple with no cherry AND it was way too sweet! I didn't say anything as I didn't want to wait an hour for a new drink. My partner ordered a non Alcoholic beer and we got 2 bottles of water. the beer was warm. It came to $20! If you are going to force a 2 drink minimum on people at least make the correct drink and keep your beer cold. AND FIRE THAT HORRIBLE BAR TENDER!!!!!!!!! First time here, not the last. At first I was really confused because I thought the "waiting room," was the actual comedy floor, so I was like what??? This place is tiny. Turns out, they open the main doors at the actual time of the show, get there early and find the perfect table (in the front if you dare!) Service was quick and the servers, checked up on us quite often. The drinks are ok, nothing spectacular, but enough to give you that relaxing buzz. I kept eyeballing my neighbors nachos! This is my favorite local comedy venue. The tickets are very reasonable, the seating is intimate but not overly crowded and they serve food and drinks! Compared to seeing a comedian in a large concert venue, this place is so much more enjoyable. It's quick to get in and out for one. The seating doesn't squish you next to strangers. The food and drinks are delicious and did I mention they have a full bar? After leaving the comedy club there are several other bar/restaurant combos within walking distance. This is a pretty fun little venue located in Old Sacramento where you can get your comedy on , have a little bite to eat, and enjoy a nice evening. There is a parking lot located directly across from the venue, with an entrance on Capitol as you drive towards the Tower Bridge. Right before you get to the bridge, the parking entrance is on the right side. One inside, there is a very large bar on the left side where you can get your drink on while you wait for the show to begin. There is a little stage in front where they sometime have musicians play in the front, as well as ample seating on cocktail tables throughout. Inside there is the stage in the far back left side, with many small tables and chairs packed throughout the room. Our favorite is to choose a small two top table on the right side of the room where you have more room, are not crowded, and have small wall to your back, as there is a elevated section behind you for additional seating. There is waitress service in the mainroom, and you can order from a full menu of bar food as well as get drinks. Overall, a nice experience and a fun way to spend a few hours if you are in the Old Sacramento area. We will be back for sure! read more

After attending a Yelp event held at Laughs Unlimited and having a great time, I started to realize that I have been missing out on a lot of potential great times! It's been a very long, dry spell since I had last visited this comedy club; mostly for the reason that I was a loner and didn't have many friends to go out with. But rediscovering this place just made me want to come here more often, thanks to being a Yelp member and making a lot of Yelp friends! I really enjoyed the featured comedians, the attentive staff, the cocktails and even the bar food! This club has two forms of entertainment available. When you first enter, there is a nice lounge area, bar and live music. Or you can go to the back portion of the building where the comedy club is featured. It is quite spacious with many tables and chairs to choose from. The comedians were hilarious as we were treated to side splitting, knee slapping humor from the likes of Kiry Shabazz, Alfonso Portela, D. Tyler, Diego Curiel, Jimmy Earll and Anthony Jr. De Guzman. Each entertainer not only provided fun and laughter during their performance, but they even spent time visiting and socializing with patrons after the show. It was nice getting to know them, posing for group pictures and just adding to the pleasantries of our customer experience.
